We’re back, Annual Passholders, with more news on how you’ll be able to use the Disney Park Pass! Annual Passholder Sticker Although the new mandatory reservation system will go live tomorrow on June 22nd, Annual Passholders without a hotel reservation will not be able to schedule visits to the parks until June 26th. Since Passholders are only allowed 3 reservations at a time, it’s important to note that you may have to make separate reservations from regular ticket holders in your party as well. While Disney will be hosting Passholder Previews and offering new payment options for Passholders, many guests are wondering how their specific passes will work when the theme park reservation system goes live. Passholder Entrance Although there are possible extensions on passes that have already been activated, some people have purchased Annual Passes without using them yet. If you are one of these Annual Passholders, you’ll be happy to know that you WILL be able to make a Disney Park Pass reservation tomorrow (if you have a hotel reservation) and on June 26th, if you just have the pass. A Cast Member confirmed that this would be the case when the new system goes live! ©Disney Since there are so many updates and changes happening currently, we will continue to keep you updated on new ticket, hotel, and park modifications! Here’s everything you need to know about the Disney Park Pass! When will you be going back to Disney World? Let us know in the comments below! It really does feel like the months have blown by since Disney World has been closed! Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort On top of the Disney Park Pass going live tomorrow on June 22nd, the Disney Resorts will be re-opening again to guests. Since there are plenty of new health and safety regulations (and even guidelines for Good Neighbor resorts), stays on Disney property are going to look totally different that we’ve seen before. While guests will be required to have a hotel or dining reservation to even enter a resort, Disney is also necessitating that hotel guests “must read” all the health and safety information before arriving. We received a notification from the My Disney Experience app about reading the mandatory Health Acknowledgement… ©Disney …which took us into the page on the app with all the information guests need to know. Since everyone will be traveling, it’s important that visitors are aware of both the precautions that Disney Resorts are taking and what is expected of the guests. ©Disney Disney is asking that everyone participates in an at-home health check before they head to Disney World to ensure the safety of everyone on property. ©Disney If a guest is experiencing any of the ailments listed, has been in contact with someone who is sick, or currently resides under a self-quarantine order, they “must not enter the Walt Disney World Resort.” ©Disney The Health Acknowledgement is not only mandatory, but it also has helpful information that you should know before you head to the resorts. We recommend checking with Disney if you have any concerns about a member in your party before arriving. And, we’ll also be giving you a detailed tour of the Disney Resorts tomorrow so you can have a first look before you go! We have all your questions about the Disney Park Pass system here! What Disney Resort will you be staying at first? Let us know in the comments below! Related posts: There’s Still a Way to Book a Room on Disney World Property Right Now! One of the major changes that will be implemented when Disney World reopens is the Disney Park Pass System — which will require guests to make a theme park reservation in order to enter any theme parks. Magic Kingdom Since this is a totally new system, our readers understandably have a lot of questions about how it will work. So, we’re breaking down the answers to your frequently asked questions here! Remember ALL of this is subject to change. Disney can make changes anytime, so these are the best answers we can give you right now; but you should always ask your Disney representative when you call to get confirmation. Can we leave the park and come back later in the day? Disney has not yet confirmed the answer to this question. Our understanding is that as long as you have a park reservation for the day, you should be able to leave and return later in the same day. But again — not confirmed. Disney has also added a “time of entry” onto the Park Pass system, so that could mean that visits could be limited to certain timeframes to maintain capacity limitations. Guests can still spot characters in the reopened Disney World parks — here’s how! Hello from Hollywood Studios! What if a linked member of my travel party has a regular ticket and another has an Annual Pass? This has a few different applications, so we’ll give you all you need to know here. Disney states that guests who have different types of ticket media may need to make different reservations. So that means that if you have an Annual Pass, but the rest of your family/travel party have regular tickets, you may need to make two separate reservations. If you do NOT have a Disney World hotel reservation and you’re trying to secure a reservation on June 26th as an Annual Passholder, you won’t be able to make reservations for members of your party who have a regular ticket, as they aren’t eligible for park reservations until June 28th. In this case all you need to do is NOT select them as part of your party when you’re booking on the 26th. Walt Disney World Annual Passholder My Annual Pass isn’t activated. It’s just a voucher. Will I still be able to make park pass reservations? Yes. Guests who have an annual pass voucher that hasn’t yet been activated in the parks will be able to make park pass reservations using that ticket media. If someone in my party isn’t going to the parks. Do I need to remove them from my account before I try to book my Disney Park Pass reservation? No, you DON’T need to remove them from your account — just don’t include them in the “party” you’re booking Disney Park Pass reservations for. Animal Kingdom Disney World WON’T use virtual queues upon reopening! If our friends who we add to my account are not actually staying in a Disney Resort, can we still get a reservation for them, too? In order to make a reservation on June 22nd, all guests in your travel party will need to be added to the hotel reservation. Beach Club Resort in Disney World Otherwise, you won’t be able to make your reservations for them until June 26th (if your friends are Annual Passholders) or June 28th (if your friends have regular tickets). These are the changes coming to Disney World hotels this summer! If you make your Disney Park Pass with a Resort reservation and later cancel the Resort reservation, will you lose your DPP like you used to lose your FassPass+ selections? You should approach this using the assumption that the system will work the same way that Resort reservations and linked 60 day out FastPass+ selections used to work. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Meaning, if you cancel the Resort stay, you’ll very likely lose all of the reservations dependent on the Resort reservation. We’re thinking you should be able to modify an existing resort stay (e.g. change to a different hotel, but keep the same confirmation number) without losing your park reservations, but that is not confirmed. Bottom line: don’t book a resort just to get the park passes and then cancel your resort reservation. Here’s how Disney’s PhotoPass service will change when the parks reopen. Do we know what happens to those of us looking to book later than September in 2021? On June 28th, guests will be able to book new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets for 2021. However, theme park reservations are only available through September 26, 2021. Peter Pan’s Flight It’s unlikely that theme park reservation dates will be extended immediately, as Disney doesn’t typically open up reservations that far in advance. That said, you should call Disney for confirmation in your specific circumstance! Disney World is discontinuing free MagicBands soon! What is this “choose a time” thing all about? Will I have to choose a window of time? Start my day late if there aren’t rope drop times available? The Disney Park Pass page on the Disney World website does indicate that in addition to selecting a date and a Theme Park, guests will also need to select a time. According to the site, this is “the time that you can visit the park.” Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge At this time, Disney has not clarified exactly what this entails, but they did implement a timed system with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, so it’s possible that we could see a similar reservation window process. Unfortunately, we won’t know the details here until Disney offers more clarification. Here’s the full list of tours that will NOT be available when Disney World reopens. Will I be kicked out at a certain time? While Disney hasn’t yet clarified what the “select a time” portion of the park reservation will encompass, it’s possible that guests could be given a specific window of time during which they are allowed to visit. However, that would significantly conflict with being able to leave the park and come back on the same day. A Sight For Sore Eyes! We’re keeping an eye on this portion of the DPP process for more details! Here are seven problems you won’t have when Disney World reopens! How will Disney know when people need to leave if I am getting kicked out at a certain time? At the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, guests were allowed to enter the land for a specific four-hour window of time. Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge This was managed using a wristband system, which allowed Cast Members to distinguish whether or not guests were within their allotted window of time. But again, it’s not confirmed that Disney will use any sort of time limit system at all. Click here to learn more about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Is there a limit on the number of days I can make Park reservations? So if I have a three week trip planned, can I book a Park for 21 days? Your reservation eligibility is tied to your vacation package and tickets. Magic Kingdom So, you should be able to make reservations for as many days as you hold tickets. Disney has used the term “length-of-stay” on their website. That said, Disney has capped “length-of-stay” to 14 days for things in the past — like refillable mugs. So we’ll have to confirm the longer stays. Click here to find out where you can attend character dining at the newly reopened Disney World. If we need to change our reservations, can we? Without penalty? Guests can cancel Disney Park Pass reservations in the My Plans section of their My Disney Experience account. We don’t know if there’s a “cancellation policy” that would incur a fee if you cancel too close to your reservation time. We’re still waiting to see if guests will be able to modify Park Pass reservations to a different day or time. Expedition Everest Can I have a park pass reservation if I don’t have an on-site or affiliated hotel room? Yes, Annual Passholders can hold up to 3 park pass reservations at a time. Guests with other ticket media can book starting June 28th and make park pass reservations for their park ticket dates. Click here for more information on the Disney Park Pass system. While we’re still waiting for Disney to provide further information about some aspects of the Disney Park Pass system, we hope that this FAQ has helped to clear up some of the confusion! We’ll be testing out the DPP system ourselves, so stay tuned for our first-hand account! If you have heard different information to our answers above, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your experience. Like we said, this is all subject to change, and even the most seasoned Disney experts are still texting each other frantic questions throughout the day! Although the Disney World parks are re-opening with lots of returning AND new attractions, entertainment, and experiences, Pin Trading is not one of them (we’re just as disappointed as you are). The Disney Park Pass Reservation system will be going live tomorrow on June 22nd at 7 AM EST! Flower and Garden Festival While a number of Disney-owned hotels prepare ready to welcome resort guests back that same day, many guests are looking forward to the moment they are able to step back into the Disney World parks. In order to reduce its capacity, Disney has released its new theme park reservation system as a way to limit the amount of guests in a park at a time. There will be a limited amount of reservations available for parks when they re-open, and guests will not be able to park-hop. The Disney Park Pass reservations will first be made accessible to guests who have an upcoming stay at the Disney Resorts. Magic Kingdom Disney has also announced that Good Neighbor hotels, like the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, Shades of Green Resort, and others will have the same access to the Disney Park Pass system just like other Disney-owned Resort guests. Good Neighbor Hotels Information However, as everyone gets ready to start making their plans tomorrow (Magic Kingdom, here we come!!), we thought it was important to note some of the restrictions surrounding the hotels. According to the Good Neighbor hotels’ websites, they have stated that it may take up to 72 hours to be able to access the Disney Park Pass system and link reservations. ©Disney Although it’s unclear at this time how each resort will be handling these reservations, resort guests will still have priority access to the Disney Park Pass system. Annual Passholders without a hotel reservation will not be able to make reservations until June 26th with regular ticket holders following afterwards on June 28th. Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort So if you’re looking to book a stay at one of these Good Neighbor hotels, keep in mind that you need to give it at least 72 hours in the system before you’ll be able to make those Park Pass ressies! We will continue to give you more details on the Disney Park Pass system as we learn them. And, we will provide you with a first look at the process tomorrow when the system goes live! It has been a WEEK in Disney World news! Food and Wine Festival 2019 We’ve shared some wild stuff recently, like the brand new version of Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival that debuts July 15th, the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (still crying a little bit), and the announcement for ALL the rides and entertainment re-opening in the parks. Sounds like a lot, right? Well, Disney has ALSO released information on the Disney Park Pass, which is Disney World’s new mandatory theme park reservation system. The system will go live TOMORROW, June 22nd, at 7 AM EST for guests with existing hotel reservations and valid theme park entry to schedule their visits to the parks. Cinderella Castle Although we’ve given you a step-by-step tutorial on how to make reservations through Disney Park Pass, things can be a little bit confusing since there are so many different situations to consider. And, our number one priority here at DFB is to help you with your vacation and planning needs (and keep you up to date on all the Disney news!). China Pavilion We’ve been seeing a lot of confusion over how regular ticket holders and Annual Passholders would be able to make reservations together. Since Annual Passholders will only be able to make 3 park reservations at a time starting June 26th and regular ticket holders can make reservations on June 28th, your Disney plans are probably going to see some major changes. Walt Disney World Annual Passholder At this time, we understand that Passholders with a hotel reservation should be allowed to book for the length of their hotel stay, but if your party has both Annual Passholders and regular ticket holders, you may need to make two different park reservations at this time. Disney has stated that all guests must have valid park ticketing, but your type of admission may prevent you from making a certain amount of reservations. ©Disney If you have a hotel reservation, but multiple kinds of tickets within your party, you’ll still be able to book together as a group due to your hotel stay. But if, for example, you have a local friend looking to visit with you for the day, even if you’re synced in My Disney Experience, they may need to book their Park Pass separately. Keep in mind that this can always change. Beach Club Resort As Disney releases more information about specifics, we will continue to keep you updated. Since things keep changing and evolving, let us know if you have any questions! We will do our best to help you find the answers that you need. With the phased reopening of our Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort, we’re excited to welcome guests back to the campground with a fresh new barn at Tri-Circle-D Ranch. Our animal care team continues to take great care of our horses, and are thrilled to share this magnificent milestone at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Tri-Circle-D Ranch has a long history of housing “The Happiest Horses on Earth,” as it was part of Walt’s vision to bring horses to Magic Kingdom Park much like he did in Disneyland. Tri-Circle-D Ranch was established before opening day of Walt Disney World Resort, making his wish come true. Back in August, we shared that our horses and ranch team were receiving a beautifully enhanced new barn, with plenty of space for play time, pony rides and more. The new stable features larger stalls for the horses, including 10 additional stalls – all equipped with automatic water stations. The barn is more than twice the size of the original barn with two tack rooms, a wedding harness room showcasing tack for Cinderella’s ponies and the return of the museum dedicated to Walt’s love of horses. Along with the museum, our horses themselves brought an iconic piece of Disney history back to the barn—the 1907 Dragon Calliope. Walt Disney purchased the horse-drawn musical wagon for Disneyland Park in the 1950s, and it is currently on display at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Watch the horse-powered move below: But that’s not all that’s new at Tri-Circle-D Ranch! Last week, we shared the newest addition to our animal collection, Violet, a pony foal born right here at the new stable. Violet is already finding her independence as she plays around in the pastures and enjoys running around with her mom, Elsa, for some quality bonding time. The ranch is a quick trot away from its original location, just around the corner from the bus loop by Pioneer Hall. It’s official, folks! The NBA is coming to Disney World! NBA Experience While we’ve already found out where the teams will likely be housed on Disney property and what amenities they should be able to experience, there have still been some discussions over what the safest ways to conduct the NBA’s season are currently. According to the ESPN, the NBA will still be holding its season in Walt Disney World, despite the recently expressed concerns from the association. Since Florida has had a skyrocketing number of cases recently, NBA officials have worried about bringing the 22 teams to Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex However, NBA commissioner Adam Silver expressed his confidence in the “NBA’s bubble concept” during a virtual meeting with the players and officials. During this meeting, there were concerns expressed about how the hotel housekeepers and custodians may not have to undergo COVID-19 testing, even though they will be in the areas NBA players will be staying on Disney property. Bob Iger and Adam Silver ©Disney NBA spokesman Mike Bass has also stated that they are “closely monitoring the data in Florida and Orange County and will continue to work collaboratively with the National Basketball Players Association, public health officials and medical experts regarding our plans.” NBA Experience The league recently sent out a detailed guide about what precautions would be taken, including specific staff at NBA hotels, once-a-week room housekeeping without the players and staff present, the use of personal protective equipment and distancing measures from the Disney Cast Members, and non-Disney team bus drivers who will be subjected to testing. Gran Destino at Disney’s Coronado Springs NBPA executive director Michele Roberts has also noted “that access to the campus is severely limited” and that they will implement more health and safety measures and restrictions if they are deemed necessary. The NBA teams will begin playing their season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports on July 31st. Since this is an evolving situation, we will continue to keep you updated! The Baby Yoda craze hasn’t slowed down, and we can’t blame anyone! He’s just too cute! “The Child” from Disney+’s The Mandalorian ©Disney While one Baby Yoda Plush has disappeared and reappeared in Disney Springs and the Build-a-Bear Baby Yoda Plush keeps selling out online, we’ve been seeing Baby Yoda stuff fly off the shelves quicker than the little green guy can eat a frog! Buuut, even if you can’t snag the plush from the World of Disney, there are still ways you can “secure the asset” to take home with you. We’re just a few short weeks away from being able to explore the big blue World again since Disney World will be re-opening on July 11th and July 15th! Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance Disney has been giving us the details on everything we can expect when we’re back in the parks, like what Character Cavalcades we’ll be able to spot in Magic Kingdom and which places we’ll be able to shop at in Hollywood Studios. If you’re looking forward to hopping on your favorite attractions again, Disney has also told guests all the rides that will be open in each park (we’re excited to see that the Haunted Mansion made the cut). Haunted Mansion Since this is an evolving situation, however, Disney has to update many of its statements consistently to fit with new guidelines. And, that means that some attractions that may have been previously scheduled to re-open will no longer be a part of the rides and entertainment available to guests during the initial re-openings in Disney World. Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom WILL be Reopening At this time, Turtle Talk with Crush and The Festival of the Lion King are no longer available in EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Although Disney didn’t make an official statement, the attractions were quietly removed from the list of re-opened locations that we shared with you. The Seas While we don’t know when Turtle Talk with Crush and The Festival of the Lion King will return in Disney World, we expect it will be when Disney feels that the experiences will be able to fit with health and safety guidelines. While it may be disappointing to some to see these rides remain closed, most of the other rides in Disney World will still be re-opening next month. Festival of the Lion King We will keep you updated on more attraction and experience updates as this is an ever-changing situation! Here’s the ultimate guide to everything re-opening in Disney World! Popcorn Carts will for sure be open! Disney has also begun to list many theme park restaurants on their Mobile Dine Check-In maps on the Disney World website. (FYI, Mobile Dine Check-In is a new, contactless way for guests to let Cast Members know when they’ve arrived at a sit-down restaurant in Disney World.) It’s been quite the day so far with exciting news coming out of Disney World. For those itching to get back to Galaxy’s Edge when Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopens in Disney World on July 15, they may be happy to know that many of the major attractions and shops will be open. Lieutenant Beck on Rise of the Resistance And yep — the reopening list includes the fan favorite Rise of the Resistance! This attraction has been the must-ride choice since it opened in August of 2019. But we’re also getting word of another MAJOR development that will change the way we’ve come to experience “getting in line” for this ride! We just confirmed via the Disney World website chat system that Disney World will not use any virtual queues (i.e lines for rides that are managed digitally, so you “join” them from a smartphone app). This was a possibility we had discussed in the past, and we know now that it looks like only standby (regular, good ol’ ride lines) will be available for Disney World’s rides and attractions. Further, reporter Scott Gustin confirmed that this mandate includes Rise of the Resistance. That’s right, as of right now (things change ALL the time, however) if you want to join forces with the Resistance and take on the First Order, it sounds like your ONLY option will be a traditional standby queue. In addition to no virtual queues, there will be no Single Rider lines at any attractions, and the entire FastPass+ system has been temporarily suspended for the time being). Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Rise of the Resistance was a major development in virtual queueing for Disney World. When the attraction first opened, guests had to join a Boarding Group, assigned at random, via the My Disney Experience app on their smartphones. Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups Sign Due to the immense popularity of the ride, these Boarding Groups were snatched up FAST. And anyone who wanted to ride essentially needed to be INSIDE the park gates before the official opening time to have a chance at riding! Hollywood Studios Before Park Opening Waiting to Get Boarding Groups for Rise of the Resistance Now, it looks as though anyone in Disney’s Hollywood Studios each day will have an equal shot to ride via standby queue. But to get the best chance to ride without too long a queue, you’ll want to arrive as EARLY as possible! May the force be with you! Check out ALL of the attractions that will be opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15 here! Have you been on Rise of the Resistance yet? What do you think of folks only being able to wait in a standby queue for this attraction? Let us know in the comments! Disney has just shared a ton of new details regarding which attractions, entertainment, and shopping experiences we can start looking forward to enjoying when the theme parks reopen on July 11th and July 15th respectively. Premium Mickey Ice Cream Bar at Disney World And while we’ve known a new reservation system has been in the works for some time to help manage attendance levels, we suspected Disney World might also implement new virtual queues for its rides to aid in reducing crowds.BUT, that no longer seems to be the case. Theme park reporter Scott Gustin first reported that Disney had begun informing Cast Members that virtual queues would NOT be used by ANY of the attractions at Disney World when the theme parks reopen. This INCLUDES Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios. We reached out to a Disney Cast Member and were able to confirm that virtual queues will not be used for attractions upon reopening. Virtual Queue Unavailable Single Rider lines will also be temporarily unavailable during the theme parks’ initial reopening phase.
