Disney World is in a period of transition, including construction on new lands, refurbishments of old favorites, and some new dining hotspots! Fruity Pebbles Classic Shake Over the past year, Disney has opened some majorly popular spots, including GEO-82 (the Spaceship Earth-themed lounge at EPCOT), The Beak and Barrel (the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar at the Magic Kingdom), and The Perch (the gilded Victorian-themed lobby bar at the Grand Floridian). Each of these new lounges opened to positive reviews and heavy demand, and still draw big crowds (though reservations for GEO-82 and Beak and Barrel are slightly easier to come by). Now, a new crop of spots have opened at Disney World, with several more on the way. The Norway Snack Kiosk Located in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion, this long-awaited location at the front of the pavilion offers several treats, including School Bread! This gives guests a second way to get their hands on the iconic treat, which is especially valuable since Norway is extra crowded with guests checking out the new animatronics added to Frozen Ever After. School Bread from the kiosk. Popcorn and Snacks This new Toy Story Land stand offers — perhaps not shockingly — popcorn and snacks. Kidding aside, the new stand fits perfectly into the land’s theme as it’s been built to resemble a massive popcorn box turned on its side, with magic marker writing scribbled over it. Toy Story Land Popcorn and Snacks The menu offers familiar snacks like popcorn, ice cream bars, churros, and frozen lemonade, as well as Pizza Planet Spring Rolls. The stand also has alcoholic beverages. Pizza Planet Spring Rolls CrazyShakes Pop-Up For 90 days beginning in March, Disney Springs will be home to CrazyShakes. The former Sprinkles will house the Black Tap pop-up, which is offering a menu of specialty shakes, including the star of the show: The Special Edition Mickey Mouse Shake. Mickey Mouse Shake In addition, several more new spots are scheduled to open in the coming months, including: The new Tea Room experience at the Grand Floridian’s Garden View Lounge is opening March 19th. This new take on afternoon tea will be the first at the resort since the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Level99 is an interactive, social entertainment center featuring “real-world, challenge-based, social entertainment” for adults, featuring physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments. The location, which is taking over part of the site formerly occupied by the NBA Experience and DisneyQuest at Disney Springs, will also offer food and drink options at a 2-story bar, including “handcrafted cocktails, local beers and made-from-scratch bites—including LEVEL99’s signature Detroit-style pizza.” It’s scheduled to open in the spring. Six Ravens, a new concept from the company behind Gideon’s Bakehouse, is also coming to Disney Springs this year. According to owner Steve Lewis, the locations will be focused on savory offerings, specializing in “Coffyns.” Described as an “old school hand pie”, the fluffy yeast bread pastry will be “filled with flavors created not only by the talented minds in Gideon’s kitchen but also by some of your favorite Orlando culinary superstars.” Six Ravens will also serve savory potatoes, local draft beer, and, obviously, “some tasty desserts.” Garden View Lounge Disney World is brimming with new dining spots across its parks, resorts, and Disney Springs area. Actor John Stamos will join the Beach Boys on stage during an upcoming concert at SeaWorld Orlando, the theme park confirms. The appearance, part of SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival concert series, is set for 7 p.m., March 22, at the park’s Bayside Stadium. Stamos has played durms with the group sporadically since the early 1980s after he was cast on “General Hospital.” He appeared in the group’s video for the 1988 hit song “Kokomo.” As an actor, he gained fame as Uncle Jesse on “Full House” and Dr. Tony Gates on “ER.” Other notable TV appearances include “Glee,” “Muppets Haunted Mansion” and two episodes of “Palm Royale.” Stamos has a reputation of being a Disney buff, reportedly buying the large Disneyland entrance sign on eBay in 2000 and installing the big D in his backyard. In a worlds-collide moment, the video for “Kokomo” was filmed at the Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World. Last week, longtime Beach Boys member Bruce Johnston, 81, said he planned to stop touring with the group, but he will make special appearances, including a Hollywood Bowl gig marking the 250th birthday of the USA. The group’s tour schedule recently expanded as it marks the 40th anniversary of its famed album “Pet Sounds.” The SeaWorld concert is included with regular park admission. A limited amount of reserved seating is available, including front-row spots. Prices vary with concert dates, but the range for reserved seating for the Beach Boys appearance is $99.99 to $199.99. For tickets and more information, go to seaworld.com/orlando. Concerts are held on select nights throughout the festival, which ends May 17. Other upcoming acts include Connor Price on March 14, the triple bill of Tiffany, Bow Wow Wow and Animotion on March 15 and All-4-One on March 21. This year’s lineup also includes Boyz II Men, Trace Adkins, Uncle Kracker, Jesse McCartney, Elvis Crespo and more. Other theme park concert series under way in Orlando include Garden Rocks, part of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival (ending June 1) and Universal’s Mardi Gras concert, which concludes March 28. Disney Eats: Inside the New Takumi-Tei Spring Menu at EPCOT
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Blogs
Fellow foodies, do I have an experience to share with you. I recently had the pleasure of attending Takumi-Tei at EPCOT and it was a truly memorable (and delicious) experience. This location nestled within the Japan Pavillion features an omakase, which means “leave it up to the chef,” menu. This two-hour omakase dining experience is a special occasion that is perfect for those celebrating or those wanting a foodie outing, all nestled within a theme park. And what makes it even more unique is that this menu changes with each season, meaning you’ll never have the same experience twice. I was able to enjoy the new spring menu, which just premiered at the location, and it did not disappoint. Meet the Team The team at Takumi-Tei has brought their passion and culture to the plate with a delicious selection that transports visitors with each and every bite. Led by Chef Shingo in the kitchen and Yuki in the front of house, this ever-evolving menu encourages repeat visitation, as it continues to change with each and every season. The storytelling can be seen with each course that makes you truly feel like you’re immersed within the Japanese culture. Inside Takumi-Tei But before we get to the food, I simply must talk about this space. As you walk through the doors, you’re instantly transported into a tranquil environment. The name of the restaurant means “House of the Artisan” in Japanese, and the space around you brings that to life. With five rooms inspired by a natural element – water, wood, earth, stone, and washi paper – each has a unique look and feel. From the chairs to the décor on the walls, and even the coasters, each room is filled with meaning that allows you to truly be immersed into this culture. The New Menu at Takumi-Tei And now for the best part, the food. Guests have the choice between the full omakase menu, with a vegetarian option, as well as a semi course menu for a slightly lighter experience. As a foodie, I opted for the full menu which features seven courses of delightful dishes. Our First Course The brand-new Spring menu is inspired by the season in both look and flavor. For the first course, we got the Ichiju Sansai, which comes with three seasonal dishes, including a soup that was a highlight. These options included: Sea Bream: Kombu–cured Sakura style accented with edible gold leaf Lightly Fried Tofu in Silken White Miso Broth served with Japanese mustard and pickled cherry blossom Salmon Roe & Spring Vegetables dressed in white sesame dressing garnished with silver leaf Before beginning the course, along with our server, we all took a moment to enjoy being together to share this meal, and revealed our items at the same time, lifting the lid off the bowls. It was a simple, yet special moment, kicking off a memorable meal. These bites were a fantastic start to the meal, with fresh flavors that tasted like spring. My personal favorite, the soup, was truly a delight with the lightly fried tofu being a surprising star. And the silver leaf on the Salmon Roe & Spring Vegetables was something I had never seen before but an eye-catching finishing touch. For those indulging in the vegetarian menu, the salmon roe is swapped for spring vegetables in a silken white sesame dressing and also accented with an edible silver leaf. Our Second Course For course number two, we had the chilled seasonal appetizer. This course features a Charcoal-Grilled Razor Clam & Tataki-Style Spanish Mackerel that is one of the most visual items on the menu, served in an actual clamshell. It’s accented with sea urchin, wasabi jelly, egg yolk vinegar emulsion, fine myoga julienne, and edible blossoms. As someone with a shellfish allergy, I could not try this dish but can attest that my fellow foodies loved it. I got the vegetarian dish with Assorted Seasonal Vegetables served with silken wasabi jelly, julienned myoga ginger, and edible flower buds. Our Third Course And with course three, we were treated to a truly spring-themed delight – the Spring Hanami Huassun Platter. This dish was adorned with cherry blossoms that truly embodied the season. The small bites included in this platter on the omnivorous menu are: Saikyo Miso–Grilled Flounder Horse Mackerel “Kosode” Sushi Squid & Komatsuna Greens with toasted sesame dressing accented with edible blossoms Nanban-Style Marinated Fish accented with paprika amber gelée Traditional Tamagoyaki Delicately Simmered Prawn Broad Beans in Jade-Tinted dashi broth The hit from this one among the table was the flounder, with my fellow foodies delighting in this bite. I tried the vegetarian version of this course, and it did not disappoint. These bites included: Char-Grilled Daikon Radish Dengaku glazed with aromatic yuzu miso Spinach Temari Sushi served with silken egg yolk vinegar sauce Grilled Eggplant & Paprika served with amber jelly Komatsuna Greens with Vinegar Miso Dressing garnished with edible blossoms Simmered White Konjac accompanied with cherry tomatoes marinated in sweet vinegar Simmered Broad Beans in jade-colored broth Our Fourth Course Next up, the simmered dish course. This was one of my absolute favorites of the entire evening. It features a lightly coated greenling, lotus root dumpling, petal-carved daikon, and season greens accented with plum sauce and fresh yuzu. The greenling, which was cooked to perfection, and the broth were an absolutely delicious combination that I couldn’t get enough of. Our Fifth Course For the main dish, you get the option of the following: Crisp Tempura of Japanese Black Waygu with Sakura-infused mashed potatoes, tender broccolini, sweet sake velouté, and toasted egg crumble Char-Grilled Japanese Black Wagyu Sirloin with Sakura mashed potatoes, tender broccolini, velvety sweet sake sauce, and toasted egg crumble (This option is available as an upgrade) Crisp Fan-Shaped White Shrimp Tempura with egg yolk vinegar emulsion, fine spring onion, fried eggplant, and tender broccolini I got the char-grilled wagyu, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I am still dreaming about this dish. The wagyu sirloin melted in your mouth like butter, and the Sakura mashed potatoes were phenomenal. You truly can’t go wrong when it comes to wagyu. We did try the vegetarian main course, which also was a hit with crisp deep-fried assorted vegetable skewers that also featured the delicious Sakura-infused mashed potatoes and caramelized onion ponzu sauce. Our Sixth Course The penultimate course is the rice course with pressed eel sushi and shredded egg atop subtle Japanese Sasho pepper and a spinach and silken tofu in a red miso soup. It was a delightful bite before we jumped into the awaited dessert. And to top it off, it was joined by an origami hat, which serves as a lovely keepsake to remember the night. The Seventh and Last Course Last, but certainly not least, we have the dessert course that comes with matcha tea made tableside and a selection of seasonal sweets. The server hand-mixes the matcha right at your table. We all took a moment of silence to take in the meal we just had, commemorating the experience before indulging in some sweets. As a tea lover, this was such a special touch that added to how unique this restaurant is. For desserts, the three seasonal selections are: Strawberry Baked Cheesecake accented with milk caramel, whipped cream, and viola flower House-Made Strawberry Daifuku served with Sakura crystal jelly House-Made Sakura Mochi with Sakura crystal jelly-salt-pickled cherry blossom As a self-appointed dessert aficionado, each of these were delicious. My personal favorite was the cheesecake, but I would gladly indulge in any of the three. Drink Pairings For those wanting beverage pairings for your visit, you’re in luck. The team at Takumi-Tei has expertly selected offerings with each dish. You can choose between wine and sake pairings that bring out the flavors of both the food and beverages. Along with cocktails, and even still and sparkling water imported from Japan, this beverage menu completes the overall dining experience with each sip. While located within EPCOT, this elevated restaurant is a part of the Disney Signature Dining experiences. It’s encouraged to dress accordingly, knowing that you’ll be coming through the park to attend this location. This truly was one of the best meals I have ever had. The overall experience, with the meaning behind the space and menu, and the intention behind the food made it such a special meal. Whether you’re wanting to try a new cuisine or celebrate a special occasion, Takumi-Tei is not one to be missed. I cannot wait to come back and try the new summer menu, masterfully crafted by Chef Shingo. Be sure to make your reservations to try this location for yourself! After spending NEARLY 6 years closed, a new version of the Grand Floridian’s Tea Room Experience — located inside the newly rechristened Garden View Lounge — is set to reopen to guests NEXT WEEK! ©Disney Afternoon tea had been a part of the hotel for decades, with the space formerly offering an afternoon tea party which was mainly geared towards adult guests, as well as the “Perfectly Princess Tea Party” for younger children and their parents. However, when the Grand Floridian reopened that September, the tea parties were nowhere to be found… until March 19th! According to Disney, the new tea room experience will be “a proper British afternoon tea experience” featuring “premium Twinings tea selections paired with delightful scones, small bites and exquisite pastries” all themed to Alice in Wonderland. ©Disney The full menu, which costs $79 per adult, plus tax and gratuity, includes the following: Teas: London Strand Breakfast Spicy Chai Orangery of Lady Grey Blackcurrant and Lavender herbal tea Tea-Based Cocktails: Mint Tulip: featuring Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Whiskey, Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Instant Beverage, and mint Mar-TEA-ni: with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Twinings Earl Grey Tea, lemon, and honey ©Disney Non-Alcoholic Specialty Teas: Curiosi-TEA: with Twinings Refreshers Strawberry Raspberry Herbal Tea Instant Beverage with a touch of shimmering magic This Way, That Way: with Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea, Herbal Tea Instant Beverage, and mint Food Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart: Savory curried chicken salad filling topped with cherry gelée Footman’s Feast: Wonderland Salmon Crisp with a salmon rillette on a miso brown butter crisp Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich: A traditional egg salad on beet bread Caterpillar Cucumber Roll: A delicious combination with butterfly pea-infused cream cheese and cucumbers on pumpernickel ©Disney Desserts: The Matcha Mad Hatter: Sponge cake with apricot jam and yuzu buttercream Tea Party Tart: Vanilla tart, coffee custard, and chantilly cream Flamingo Croquet Choux filled with passion fruit cream and a raspberry crunch Painting the Rose: Earl Grey-flavored teacake painted tableside There are also additional enhancements available, including a Seasonal Cheese Selection… For younger guests, there’s a $49 Children’s Afternoon Tea featuring “adorably delicious bites, including savory minis like the Queen of Hearts Cheese Toastie, a Fanciful Turkey Wrap, and a Sunflower Seed Butter and Jelly Bun. For dessert, kids can have the Cheshire Cat Raspberry Macaron, the Chocolate Brownie Branch, and don’t be late for the vanilla White Rabbit Cupcake.” ©Disney Reservations for this new experience opened on February 19th, with guests able to book 60 days beginning at approximately 6:00 AM EST (though you can start refreshing at 5:45 AM EST) online and beginning at 7:00 AM EST over the phone. Of course, if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel — including the Grand Floridian itself — you’ll actually be able to book for the whole duration of your trip (up to 10 days) beginning 60 days before your arrival, so you could conceivably book up to 70 days out. Airport security lines are getting longer and longer due to the partial government shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) — with no signs of relief anytime soon, according to CNN. TSA PreCheck at MCO The department, which is responsible for overseeing the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at airports, posted photos of long lines at security checkpoints on social media, ultimately blaming Democrats for the situation. Homeland Security funding lapsed in mid-February due to a standoff between Republicans and Democrats over federal immigration reform. According to reports, the TSA lines at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport were more than three hours long on Sunday afternoon, with the airport advising passengers to arrive four to five hours before their flights. MCO Airport Security “The Government shutdown may impact security operations from one day – and even one shift to the next,” Hobby Airport posted on social media. “We appreciate your patience and understanding as our federal partners work to maintain the safety of all passengers.” TSA Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport also saw long lines, with passengers being advised to arrive three hours before their scheduled departure time. One CNN affiliate showed footage of the security line stretching outside the airport and into a parking garage. “Due to impacts from the federal government’s partial shutdown, the TSA is experiencing a shortage of workers at the security checkpoint, which is causing longer-than-average lines,” according to the airport on social media. “The Airport has staff on hand to help keep the lines organized, and we will continue to coordinate with our federal partners with the TSA as they navigate this issue.” ©AP Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Charlotte Douglas International, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston all reported longer than normal lines as well. TSA workers received just a partial paycheck on February 28th, and they will not receive their first full paycheck on March 14th. Southwest Planes at Orlando International Airport If you’ve got an upcoming trip planned, make sure you’re checking the latest information from your departure airport about their recommendation on when to show up for TSA security checks. Some are advising to arrive up to four or five hours early — so plan accordingly. TSA Precheck is still operating as of this writing, so consider registering for that if you haven’t already to bypass some of the security lines, though it’s not a guarantee at this point that it will save you much time. PreCheck signage Some airports may even feature live updates about the current TSA wait times, like Orlando International Airport (MCO), which you can check out right here. ©MCO MCO Reserve is another option for flying out of Orlando. MCO Reserve allows travelers to reduce stress by planning ahead and reserving a dedicated time slot for their party to go through TSA security screening. You can find more information and register for this service here. ©Orlando International Airport We’ll be on the lookout for more TSA updates that could impact your next trip. Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our company… Nick and Judy! Well, we’re not saying goodbye to the whole jamboree (and sorry if that’s now stuck in your head), but we are saying goodbye to three Annual Passholder perks that made our Animal Kingdom days a little more wild. Don’t worry, you still have some time to grab them before they’re gone! You’ll want to have March 15th circled in your calendar because that’s the last day to grab your Zootopia-themed Annual Passholder magnet. You can pick it up at the Discovery Trading Company for free, but make sure you bring a government-issued ID and be ready to show your Annual Pass on your Disney World app. New Annual Passholder magnet March 15th will also be your last day to try the Carrot Cake Sundae at Terra Treats. It’s an Annual Passholder exclusive and is made with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, roasted pecans, and carrot cake crumbles all in a waffle bowl topped with birthday cake-flavored shell and chocolate carrot top. Whoa, that’s a huge description. We loved the nuttiness to it and how it wasn’t overly sweet. The spice from the carrot cake really came through, too. The Carrot Cake Sundae Don’t forget to take your Annual Passholder Exclusive Photo, too. You can take it with the comically large Pawpsicle from the Zootopia movies. It’s close to the Tree of Life sign near Creature Comforts as you walk towards Africa. The photopass prop! If you haven’t been to Animal Kingdom in a bit, you probably also want to check out the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether show. The show debuted in November at the Tree of Life and is a fun, family-friendly show, and a perfect way to beat the heat. Zootopia: Better Zoogether You can also meet Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde near the show entrance. Just have yourself a full Zootopia day! Southwest Airlines has some serious catching up to do. Southwest Airlines While we absolutely love a good deal on airfare, it’s hard not to notice that other major carriers are making some pretty significant upgrades that are leaving Southwest in the dust. From elevated in-flight dining to genuinely helpful app features, the competition is raising the bar in ways we didn’t even know we needed. Here’s what we think Southwest needs to add to keep up with the rest of the pack. Better In-Flight Meals Listen, we know Southwest isn’t exactly known for being a full-service airline, and we’re not asking for white tablecloths at 30,000 feet. But when you look at what some other airlines are doing with their in-flight food programs right now, it’s honestly a little hard to go back to a bag of pretzels. ©Southwest Airlines Delta, for example, recently announced a full meal program featuring breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus curated by a James Beard award-winning chef. We’re talking dishes like braised beef short rib with smoky BBQ sauce and creamy polenta, stuffed piquillo peppers with goat cheese and mushroom filling, and a Spanish-style chicken thigh with sherry sauce and roasted vegetables. On top of that, they’re rolling out a thoughtfully curated wine program to go with it all. That’s an actual dining experience happening in the sky. ©Delta Airlines Now, we’re not saying Southwest needs to go out and hire a world-famous culinary genius tomorrow. But could we get some meal options that feel a little more intentional? Even on longer flights, real food options that go beyond packaged snacks would go a long way toward making the whole experience feel a little more elevated. People are spending real money on flights, and a proper meal at altitude shouldn’t feel like a luxury. Serious App Upgrades If you’ve flown on United lately, you might have noticed that their app has gotten a pretty impressive glow-up. We’re talking features that actually make the chaos of travel feel a little more manageable, and honestly, we’d love to see Southwest take some notes. ©United Airlines United recently rolled out a Virtual Gate feature that gives you live boarding updates and a progress bar showing how many passengers have already boarded. There’s a bag tracker that follows your luggage in real time, similar to a package delivery tracker, so you’re not standing at baggage claim just hoping for the best. They’ve also added a Club Recommendation Tool that tells you which lounge is closest to your specific gate and how crowded it is. And for travelers with connections, the app also offers step-by-step directional maps to get you from one gate to the next, which is genuinely a game-changer when you’re sprinting through an unfamiliar airport. ©United Airlines Southwest’s app works fine for booking and checking in, but it’s pretty bare bones compared to what United is offering. The more information travelers have access to during their trip, the less stressful the whole experience becomes, and that’s something every airline should be prioritizing right now. Premium Options This one might be the biggest gap between Southwest and its competitors, and it’s tough to ignore. Southwest doesn’t have upgraded cabins, no first class, and no airport lounges. Everyone’s on the same playing field, which has a certain charm to it, but it also means there’s simply no option to upgrade your experience, even if you’re willing to pay for it. ©Southwest Airlines Most major airlines now offer some version of a premium cabin with wider seats, extra legroom, better meals, and dedicated service. Many also have airport lounges where members can decompress before a flight with a real meal, a quieter space, and actual amenities. For frequent flyers or anyone doing a long travel day, having that option is a pretty big deal. A Southwest airplane’s interior. We get it, Southwest has built its whole brand around being the no-frills, approachable airline, and that’s worked really well for them. But at a certain point, not giving customers premium options starts to feel like a limitation rather than a feature. Even adding a few additional perks would be a step in the right direction. Southwest, we’re rooting for you, we really are. But the competition isn’t standing still, and neither should you! ©Southwest Airlines We’ll be keeping an eye out for more all the latest air travel news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. If we asked you what our favorite bar in EPCOT was, you’d probably know the answer because it’s a LOT of folks’ favorite bar (like, even celebrities love it, too). That bar is La Cava del Tequila, and we keep coming back again and again to sip on some old favorites and try some new drinks. New drink in Mexico! So when we learned about a new margarita that had just dropped at La Cava, we got in line ASAP to order it. But…how does this new margarita fare in a menu that’s already FULL of standout margaritas? Well, let’s discuss! The new margarita is the Cafe Foster Margarita for $22.37, made with Ilegal reposado mezcal, coffee, chocolate cream liquor, cold foam, and spiced chocolate salt. Now, you might think, “Oh, hey, chocolate margarita? I’m in!” But here’s the thing…it’s not a super chocolatey drink, even with those chocolate ingredients. Now, the first sip is strong, but it gets smoother with each sip. But it tastes more like it has hints of coffee in it than chocolate, and we don’t mind that one bit. Cafe Foster Margarita The foam on top is both salty and sweet, but it’s more like a vanilla that then gets super salty (like it sneaks up on you). We think the cold film is a unique idea for a margarita because it is something we associate more with coffee. We do wish the overall drink was a little sweeter and chocolatey, though. However, if you like coffee, you may actually like this drink because that’s what it reminds us of. To us, it tasted like a sweet coffee with strong tequila in it. In the mood for something else? We also recently tried The Vaquero’s Falsetto, a new cocktail that’s smooth and very easy to drink. You can read our full review here. It’s kinda’ hard keeping up with all the Disney news because, honestly, it feels like it’s coming at you fast, non-stop, all the time, especially with all the construction and new things coming to Disney World and Disneyland. And you know what, it is! Something is ALWAYS going on with The Walt Disney Company. But that’s what makes it all so exciting. Stitch topiary at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Now, we know not everyone has the time to read through every single thing, and with your busy lives, it’s hard to keep up with all the big news drops. So we’re going to go through the three biggest Disney news stories of the week so you can get caught up quickly. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith took its one last ride through Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week and is now close to be reimagined as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Since its closing, we’ve already seen changes being made to the ride’s exterior and learned that the ride will be a Tier 1 ride with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. That means when you make your Lightning Lane pre-selections ahead of your visit to Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be one of the rides you can only choose ONE selection for. People in costume riding Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster one last time EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Kicked Off The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival kicked off this week, and that means there’s all kinds of NEW food and drinks to try out in EPCOT, as well as new merchandise to buy, and new entertainment to enjoy. The festival runs through June 1st, so you’ve still got time to check it all out. Be sure to check out all our reviews first, though! Just some of the food you can get at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival New pop-up shake spot We’ll admit we’ve been jealous of Disneyland having all the fun with Black Tap’s over-the-top shakes, but a Black Tap CrazyShakes pop-up has taken over the old Sprinkles location in Disney Springs. We visited the spot and got to be the first people EVER to have the Special Edition Mickey CrazyShake on the East Coast. Go us! Disney California Adventure’s Food and Wine Festival is FINALLY here, and we’re warning you now that if you’re hungry, you may want to grab a snack before you continue reading! Schmoozies! The 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially started at Disneyland Resort, and there is so much to explore. From now through April 27th, you can devour some delicious eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and so much more. However, the festival booths aren’t the ONLY spots you can grab some exclusive eats — there are also festival-specific offerings at some of the year-round locations in the park, and we’re checking some of them out! Schmoozies! One of the items we were MOST excited about was the Mickey-shaped Banana-Hazelnut Waffles for $11.29. Mickey-shaped Banana-Hazelnut Waffles The chocolate hazelnut filling inside was thick and ooey and gooey, and reminded us of Nutella in the best way. The banana whipped topping has a very artificial taste to it, but it didn’t bother us too much. We do wish the banana was more of a custard inside the waffle and the chocolate hazelnut was a drizzle on top, just to balance the flavors a bit more, but all in all, this is a good waffle. Lots of filling! It’s not the best we’ve had, but it’s far from the worst, so we think it’s pretty solid! Pym Test Kitchen Here, you can grab the Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Cheese for $14.99. Spinach and Artichoke Grilled Cheese The parmesan crusted bread gave this sandwich a beautiful crunch that we adored, but it doesn’t add or take away any flavor from the rest of the dish, which we were happy about! The cheese itself was perfectly melty and gave us a great cheese pull, but both the spinach and artichoke flavor comes through a lot as well, so you’ll want to be sure you’re a fan of those flavors before grabbing this. Delicious! Now, the one downside here is that this is VERY heavy, so we don’t recommend eating it on a hot day, or in the middle of the day before you’re about to go on some rides. As for the potato bites, they were cooked well and had a great crunch, too. We enjoyed the garlic salt they had on top, but we do recommend dipping it in something, as otherwise the salt is a little much. Yum! That’s it for now, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! If you’ve stayed at a Disney World hotel, you probably love it for the immersive theming, great perks, delicious food, and that unbeatable Disney bubble feeling. Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort Whether you’re at a Value Resort with larger-than-life icons or a Deluxe with monorail access, Disney hotels are designed to keep the magic going long after you leave the parks. There are lots of reasons to love a Disney resort, and we talk about those a LOT. But there are also some not-so-magical things that go with staying at any resort. Let’s talk about the bed situation — specifically… the sheets. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Every single Disney World hotel bed I’ve ever slept in has had the same issue: the dreaded “short sheet.” Disney uses flat sheets (no fitted sheets), and for whatever reason, the bottom sheet is tucked in so tightly at the top of the mattress that there’s barely any length left to properly tuck in at the foot of the bed. The result? The sheet doesn’t extend past the end of the mattress enough to stay secure. Pillows If you’re even remotely tall or just a human who moves in their sleep, that sheet starts creeping up during the night. By 3 AM, your feet are no longer on a sheet, and they’re on the mattress pad. And listen, I know housekeeping works incredibly hard, but this is just a standard in the rooms. There is actually plenty of sheet to cover the mattress. It’s just tucked disproportionately at the top, leaving the bottom shorter. Animal Kingdom Lodge bed Maybe it’s just my sleep preferences, or maybe it’s the fact that I don’t want my feet directly on a mattress pad in a hotel. Whatever the reason, it absolutely ruins my sleep, and I think we can all agree that sleep is essential at Disney World. We have literally re-made the bed every single time I check into a Disney hotel. Instead of collapsing after a park day, I’m pulling the sheet loose from the top, redistributing the length, and re-tucking everything so the bottom actually stays put. Which at 11 PM, after a full park day, that’s just not something I want to do. Grand Floridian Resort beds If I’m checking a bag, I now bring my own fitted sheet — that’s it. That’s the hack. It’s a basic, inexpensive fitted sheet that doesn’t take up much space in a suitcase, and it completely eliminates the problem. You pop it on over the mattress pad, and suddenly the sheet stays in place, your feet are covered, and you don’t wake up half on/half off the bed setup. It gives me peace of mind knowing it’s going to stay put. Disney hotels have laundry available, or if you’re staying in a one-bedroom or bigger DVC villa, you’ll find your own washer and dryer right there for free! Art of Animation Pack these Amazon Basic sheets! ©Amazon Some simple sheets like this set from Amazon Basics. These sheets are super soft, made with a breathable, wrinkle-resistant material. This is a 4-Piece Bed Sheet Set with 14-Inch Deep Pockets, so you can bring the whole set to your Disney resort. View on Amazon At the end of the day, Disney World hotels are still some of the most immersive and convenient places to stay during your trip to Disney World. But if the “short sheet” situation has you resenting your bed every night, bringing a fitted sheet could be the easiest fix ever. “-a-Doodle-Doo,” you say? Nope! We’re at the 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. And that means we’re talking about Cluck-A-Doodle Moo! Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo Cluck-A-Doodle Moo is one of the Festival Marketplace Booths at the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. And as we make our way around to all of the Festival’s Food Booths to bring you our full reviews, we’re visiting the one with the best name of them all, so you can know if it’s worth a stop! Menu In keeping with the booth’s famous name, the featured food item — Asa’DOS — combines both beef and chicken. 2026 Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo Menu Beer drinkers can opt for The Dopest Hazy IPA by Crowns & Hops Brewing Co., and the new cocktail here is the Hot Honey White Sangria brought to you by National Geographic. Cluck! Moo! All the things… let’s dig in! Eats Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo spares us the choice between beef and chicken with the Asa’DOS for $10.00. This returning dish features grilled skirt steak, chipotle chicken, Spanish rice, and salsa verde. Asa’DOS The chicken here definitely has some spice to it, and we absolutely loved what it was marinated in. The Spanish rice was cooked to perfection and was very, very well seasoned! Unfortunately, the steak was extremely dry and very chewy, but it was seasoned well. Beware: the salsa verde is HOT, but put it all together in a taco, and it’s pretty darn great. We do wish the steak hadn’t been dry, though — then it would have gotten a perfect score from us! Drinks The full official name of the featured cocktail at Click-A-Doodle-Moo is the Hot Honey White Sangria, brought to you by National Geographic. How fun! This unique beverage costs $19.00 and combines sauvignon blanc, gin, hot honey syrup, grapefruit juice, and sweet and sour. It’s garnished with sliced jalapeños to add a little more heat. Hot Honey White Sangria This drink was VERY strong, so you’ve really got to like both gin and grapefruit to enjoy it. It was certainly spicy, but in a good way, and it has a great tang to it as well. We didn’t taste much of the Sauvignon Blanc at all, but we’re assuming that’s what made the alcohol taste so strong. If you’re not opposed to strong drinks, it’ll be a solid choice. It certainly was spicy! Crowns & Hops Brewing Co. also delivers the Dopest Hazy IPA at this booth for $18.50. OVERALL If you like spice and/or are looking for some savory options at the festival, this is a good booth to visit. We’re hoping we just got the steak from the Asa’DOS on a bad day, as that was the only thing bringing the dish down, but it was pretty significant. It’s a solid booth, for sure, but you’ll just want to know your own palate very well, as it’s not going to be for everyone. Full Spread! Thanks for joining us at Cluck-A-Doodle Moo! It’s no secret that MagicBands have become an integral part of Disney World vacations over the last decade+. They can serve as room keys, payment methods, entry tickets, be used to check-in for Lightning Lanes, connect with PhotoPass, and react to select Disney theme park attractions with “lighting effects and gesture recognition”, and they’re available in a slew of cool designs! MagicBand+ However, take it from me, there are some things you NEED to know before picking up your bands for your next Disney World trip! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. MagicBands Are no Longer Free Guests who haven’t been to Walt Disney World in a while may be shocked to find out that the most basic MagicBands — which used to be included with Disney hotel stays — are no longer “free.” While this has been the case since mid-2021, going by emails and Facebook comments we receive, many fans are still mad about it. MagicBand+ They are also no longer discounted for Disney World hotel guests, which was another huge shocker and bummer for guests. Price Differences are Mainly Aesthetic There are various price levels of MagicBand+ offerings, with basic bands going for around $35… ©Disney … more decorated bands with character or park iconography going for around $45… ©Disney … and limited/anniversary celebration bands priced around $55 and up. ©Disney While the designs are aesthetically pleasing, and we’d always recommend picking up a collectible representing a franchise or ride you care deeply about, from a functionality standpoint, all these MagicBand+ variants are created equal. Take it from someone who has experienced it firsthand: The basic bands will fulfill all the same operational needs as, say, a Lady and the Tramp 70th Anniversary band. MagicBand+ There Are A Lot of MagicBand Accessory Options From silicone locks to keep your MagicBand+ affixed properly… ©Amazon … to charging hubs to keep multiple bands charged without taking up every outlet in the hotel room… MultiCharger for MagicBand+ … to a watch adapter that you can attach your MagicBand’s RFID puck to your Apple Watch band. (As someone who chafed at wearing both an Apple Watch and a MagicBand in the hot Florida sun, this one might be my FAVORITE). Apple Watch band MagicBand+ converter MagicBands are without a doubt integral to a modern-day Disney World trip, but there are things you NEED to know before picking some up before your next trip to the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips. 3 Big Reasons MagicBand+ Will Be More Useful in Disney World in 2026 Do you have a favorite MagicBand? Disney World water parks can become very popular, very quickly — especially during the hotter times of year, which are quickly approaching! Typhoon Lagoon The resort has two different water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Currently, Blizzard Beach is the only water park open, but come May 26th, both water parks will be open through September 8th. If you’re planning on heading to either of them this summer, there’s one item you CANNOT forget to bring. We’ve forgotten it ourselves and 100% regretted it, so please don’t make the same mistake we did. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. What we’ve learned from Disney World water parks, and water parks in general, if we’re being honest, is that the ground can rip up your feet quickly, especially on hot days. While you can wear flip-flops or sandals around the water park, not all of them are allowed on the rides, which means that you potentially have to walk to a ride and stand in line in bare feet, and that hurts fast. We suggest snagging some of our favorites online, which are also all approved to be worn on the attractions! Quick-Dry Aqua Socks ©Amazon If you don’t want thick shoes but want to keep your feet protected, we highly recommend the Quick-Dry Aqua Socks. They come in a variety of colors, are super flexible, comfortable to wear, and the soles are strong enough that you’ll be protected from the heat and anything sharp on the ground as you walk. Check out on Amazon! Feather Water Shoes ©Amazon If you want actual shoes, we really recommend the WHITIN Women’s Multi-Purpose Feather Water Shoes as well. You can use the pull cord at the top to tighten them, if needed, but they’re still acceptable for the rides, as there’s no zipper. They also come in numerous colors, so you can find which you love best! Check out on Amazon! A Solid Choice For Kids ©Amazon Looking for sandals that pass the test? Look no further than the Nike Kids’ Sunray Protect 4 Sandal. These don’t have any exposed metal, buckles, or zippers, so they don’t break the rules for the slides. These are great if you want something with a little more structure! Check out on Amazon! Yes, Speedo Makes Shoes! ©Amazon That’s right, Speedo does make shoes as well, so the Surfwalker Pro 3.0 may be a great fit if you’re looking for something sleek and stylish. However, it’s important to note that the manufacturer has discontinued this specific style, so it may not be around for long. Check out on Amazon! Speedo Shoes That Aren’t Discontinued! ©Amazon Finally, we also think the Speedo Women’s Tidal Cruiser Water Shoes are a good choice, especially because these are indeed still being made by the manufacturer. These only come in three different colors, so they may not be the most stylish, but you can be sure that the thick sole will keep your feet from burning! Check out on Amazon! We’ll be sure to keep you in the know about all the latest and greatest Disney news to help you plan your trip, so stay tuned to DFB! View the full article

It’s time to dive into a garlic-kissed dish — and more! — at the 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival with a stop at the popular Garlic Kissed Festival Marketplace Booth. Cuties Mandarin Orange & Blackberry Punch What makes Garlic Kissed such an in-demand spot? Well, we’re pretty sure that the Sirloin Gruyère Mac & Cheese has something to do with it. But we’re sipping on some cocktails, too, as we make our way around to all of the Festival’s Food Booths to bring you our full reviews. Let’s see if Garlic Kissed lives up to its great reputation once more! Menu The Sirloin Gruyère Mac & Cheese returns to Garlic Kissed this year as the featured food item. 2026 Menu Both drinks here, however, are brand new to the Festival: the Cuties Mandarin Orange & Blackberry Punch and the Bourbon Peach Tea Lemonade. Vampires beware … we’re about to dig in! Eats The Sirloin Gruyère Mac & Cheese is back for $9.50. The booth’s star ingredient is presented in the black garlic chimichurri and garlic butter crunch, and the dish is garnished with Fresno chile slices. Now, we’ve had this before, but this year it’s a little different. Last year, it had more chimichurri on it, and we found that it didn’t seem as creamy as before. Although the noodles are soft, the steak is kind of chewy, and we thought the entire dish was a bit too salty. Sirloin Gruyère Mac & Cheese The bread crumbs offer a nice crunch, though, and we appreciated the little bit of kick from the chile slices. However, we wished it had more of the chile slices and less of that tough, chewy steak. Drinks Let’s check out the new Cuties Mandarin Orange & Blackberry Punch for $8.50. This non-alcoholic option is made with house-made Cuties Mandarin orange purée, blackberry and strawberry purées, blackberry syrup, Simply Fruit Punch, and grapefruit juice. It’s garnished, naturally, with a Cuties Mandarin orange! The orange flavor is VERY strong with this, so much that it overpowers the blackberry and lemonade. That’s probably because of the orange that sits on top of the drink. However, it is refreshing, and we’d probably still drink it again. Cuties Mandarin Orange and Blackberry Punch The new Bourbon Peach Tea Lemonade gives you a chance to imbibe for $18.00. This cocktail features Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Black Tea-infused bourbon, peach purée, Simply Lemonade, and Simply Fruit Punch. It’s garnished with a peach ring. That peach flavor really comes through with just a subtle flavor of bourbon in the aftertaste. We really couldn’t taste the tea. The peach ring is cute, but doesn’t really add a lot of flavor. But it gets hard because of the ice in the drink. This is a great summer drink, though, and it’s another one we might return if we need something refreshing on a hot day. OVERALL We’ll admit the mac and cheese disappointed us this year, so that means we really wouldn’t recommend coming to this booth for food. The drinks are refreshing, though, and if you’re looking for something to parch your throat on a hot day, they’ll do the job. A lot has changed in Disney World in the past week, and if it feels like we say that every week — that’s because it’s TRUE! It’s time for EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival! So much is happening in the parks right now, we’re constantly keeping our eyes peeled for all the latest updates and news regarding the multiple projects happening around Disney World. This past week, an extremely popular ride officially closed for refurbishment, lots of updates and permits have been filed for ongoing projects, and one of our favorite festivals has begun in EPCOT! So what closures do you need to expect this week? We’ve got you covered. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in summer 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Most recently, Disney announced that a new Animation Academy experience called Olaf Draws! will be added into this new area, and it’s been…controversial, to say the least! ©Disney This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Most recently, we got a look at the land as a whole, and we can see that almost all Muppets theming has been removed from the area, with the exception of the PizzeRizzo sign. ©bioreconstruct Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in summer 2026. 5 Things I Learned the Hard Way After Spending $6,000 on a Disney Cruise EPCOT Refreshment Port Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase is temporarily closed for refurbishment as of January 12th. Not so great news if you were hoping to snag a specialty poutine during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The Refreshment Port is closed However, there will still be plenty of yummy snacks to grab! Disney hasn’t yet announced what will be done at Refreshment Port or when the stand will reopen. However, we will keep an eye and ear out for progress and keep you updated. The Ultimate Guide to Eating Around EPCOT’s World Showcase: Secret Rules, Hidden Gems, and Insider Tips Disney’s Animal Kingdom On February 23rd, Disney temporarily closed Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express, which takes guests over to this part of the park, to make way for the new Bluey attraction coming to the park for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER. For the time being, you can still visit the Wilderness Explorer badge offerings, as well as a few character meet and greets, at the train station. The signs are covered up! Since February 2nd, it’s been official that DinoLand U.S.A. is officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Don’t get us wrong, we’re looking forward to what’s new, but especially since we just recently saw the DinoLand sign come down, we’re missing DINOSAUR and the rest of this uniquely themed land already! Most recently, we’ve seen updates that show the the exterior fountain and Iguanadon statue have been removed outside of the former DINOSAUR attraction. ©Bioreconstruct We’re also seeing lots of progress on the new carousel attraction coming to this land, which is very exciting! ©Bioreconstruct This new land is expected to open sometime in 2027 with three new rides, a new restaurant, shopping spots, a beautiful fountain, and more, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest! Disney World Just Filed 2 NEW Permits for These MASSIVE Expansion Projects Disney Springs Lime Garage The Lime Garage at Disney Springs is closed for refurbishment from January 12th through March 13th, 2026. There will be a small break in the project for President’s Day Weekend, with the garage reopening from February 11th through February 17th. However, after the busy holiday weekend, the garage will be closed again. Lime Garage Closed There are still plenty of options for parking at Disney Springs, but if you are headed there during a busy time, you might want to give yourself a bit of extra time to find parking. Guests will be able to park at Orange Garage, Grapefruit Garage, Strawberry Parking Lot, and Watermelon Parking Lot during the closure. The New Rules You HAVE To Follow In Disney Springs Blizzard Beach On February 15th, 2026, Blizzard Beach reopened in Disney World, and Typhoon Lagoon closed for refurbishment. Visiting during the summer and don’t want to worry about tons of crowds in one park? Typhoon Lagoon will reopen again on May 12th, 2026, so for the majority of the summer, we’ll have both water parks open again. Blizzard Beach Dress Code Revealed for NEW Disney World Restaurant Disney World Hotels Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments all over for quite some time now, but we know that sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through early 2027 at least. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa We certainly hope it’ll actually be able to hit this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Cove Pool Area — Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort This week, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily close for maintenance. From January 26th through early May 2026, the pool area will be unavailable. Disney’s Contemporary Resort During the closure, guests can still use the Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure be will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Admiral Pool At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. During the construction, guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Crew’s Cup Lounge — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On February 23rd, Crew’s Cup Lounge closed for refurbishment until May 2026. Crew’s Cup Lounge While we don’t have a specific reopening date yet, we do know that when the lounge reopens, Yachtsman Steakhouse will close instead, also to go under refurbishment. Turtle Pond Pool, Turtle Pond Pool Spa, BBQ Area, and Playground — Disney’s Old Key West Resort Starting early January through early February 2026, the Turtle Pond Pool, Turtle Pond Pool Spa, the BBQ area, and the playground at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Turtle Pond Pool at Old Key West During the closure, guests can head over to the Sandcastle Pool or one of the resort’s leisure pools. There are two different leisure pools available: the South Point Pool and Miller’s Road Pool. Surfboard Bay Pool and Kiddie Pool — Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort From January 2026 through April 2026, the Surfboard Bay Pool and Kiddie Pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will be closed for maintenance. Don’t worry, though, if you are in the swimming mood, you will still have plenty of options for pools. You may just need to travel a bit farther. Surfboard Bay At Disney’s All-Star Sports, the Grand Slam Leisure Pool will still be open. As well, you can also use any of the pools at the other All-Star Resorts. You can use the Calypso Pool and Piano Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort or the Fantasia Pool and Duck Pond Pool and kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Springtime is here, and that means new menus are popping up all over Disney World. A new spring menu is here! In EPCOT, the Flower and Garden Festival has begun, bringing TONS of new eats to the park, but other restaurants all around the resort are joining in as well. That includes the Starbucks locations around as well, and we headed over to Connections Cafe to try the new drink AND new cake pop! First up was the Iced Lavender Cream Chai for $6.75. This is made with chai spices and milk, served over ice and topped with lavender cold foam. The chai flavors come through really nicely in this drink, without being overwhelming. We honestly weren’t sure how the lavender and chai flavors would mix together, but the lavender helps soften the chai just a bit, and isn’t too floral tasting. It has a bit of an earthy taste to it, but we enjoyed it and would get it again! Iced Lavender Cream Chai Then it was time for the Frog Cake Pop, which is $3.45. The vanilla cake inside was moist and soft, while also being a little dense, giving it a thick texture that was nice to bite into. It’s great for those who are looking for something classic, or something familiar from home, and we think kiddos will especially love it. Maybe it’s not anything super special, but it was solid! Frog Cake Pop You’ll find Starbucks locations in each Disney World park, as well as two in Disney Springs. Lines can get VERY long for these spots, especially in the morning when people need to wake up with some coffee, so beware of that! If you’re open to other drinks, we suggest heading over to Joffrey’s, which is also available in numerous spots in all four parks, as well as Disney Springs — in and around EPCOT alone, there are FIVE Joffrey’s locations! Disney World trips are magical, but let’s be real: they’re also incredibly hot. The AMKEN Waist Fan Like, standing in line, wondering if you’re melting hot. And if you’re someone who tends to run warm, you already know that a little paper fan from the gift shop isn’t going to cut it. That’s why we’re talking about this $22 Amazon find that we genuinely think needs to be on your packing list before your next trip. It’s called the AMKEN Waist Fan, and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a fan you clip right to your waistband, and it’s become one of our absolute favorite Disney World accessories. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You’ll Want This If You’re a Hot Person AMKEN Waist Fan We mean that in the most literal sense. This thing is made for people who carry heat in their torso, who overheat even when the air conditioning is technically on, and who’d rather haul a little extra weight than suffer through a July afternoon in Animal Kingdom. Our AMKEN Waist Fan on our waist The fan clips right to your shorts, pants, or belt, and it pumps out serious airflow at three speed settings. And when we say serious, we mean it. On high, this thing runs at up to 16,000 RPM. It’s not a gentle breeze. It’s more like a personal wind tunnel that lives on your waistband. It Does Way More Than Just Fan You Here’s where it gets interesting: this isn’t just a fan. It’s also a power bank, which means when your phone overheats mid-PhotoPass session (we’ve all been there), you can charge it right from the same device that’s keeping you cool. It’s also got a built-in LED flashlight with multiple modes, including a flashing hazard light. Are you going to use the hazard light at Disney World? Probably not. But it’s kind of cool that it’s there. Let’s stay cool! The fan itself features a concealed blade design, which means there’s no exposed spinning hardware to catch on clothing. It even comes with two small shirt clips to keep fabric clear of the air intake. That level of thoughtfulness in the design is part of what makes this feel way more expensive than it actually is. How It Holds Up at the Parks One of our reviewers, who’s six-foot-one and 260 pounds, tested this extensively, and his take was that the weight is basically nothing. It clipped easily to his shorts and stayed put all day. AMKEN Waist Fan He also tried propping it up on his tray at a quick-service restaurant, pointing it toward his face, and said it made the air conditioning at Cosmic Ray’s feel about ten times more effective. How it can prop up on tables! He did warn that for smaller people, the weight might start to feel like a lot by hour eight, so that’s worth factoring in. But for anyone medium to large, it’s genuinely a non-issue. Clipping it onto our shirt! The battery is rated for 24 hours of use, and in our testing, it lasted around four hours on high, which is the setting you’ll actually want to use. On lower settings, it’s just not powerful enough to be worth the added bulk. But four-plus hours on high is plenty to get you through the hottest stretch of the day, especially since you can recharge it with a standard USB-C cable. One Thing to Know Going In It’s not silent. On high, there’s a consistent hum that felt to us like walking around with a small vacuum cleaner in your shirt. It’s not deafening, but if you’re sensitive to noise, it’s something to be aware of. That’s genuinely the only real downside. The trade-off for that much cooling power is a little ambient sound, and for most people, it’s absolutely worth it. AMKEN Waist Fan The cooling power and versatility are hard to beat, and the multi-function design makes it feel like way more than a $22 purchase. It’s the kind of thing you’ll wonder how you ever did a summer Disney trip without. View Price on Amazon We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

It’s all about wine and wine flights at Uncork California at the 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! It’s Mickey-shaped! The 2026 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival has officially started at Disneyland Resort, and there are LOTS of things to do. From now through April 27th, you can devour some delicious eats and drinks, check out unique entertainment, and more. Wondering just what you can enjoy at this year’s Uncork California booth? Well, we’ve checked it out, and now we’re sharing our FULL thoughts. Menu If you’re a wine drinker, you’ll want to check out this year’s menu at Uncork California. This menu sports one fan-favorite returning sweet treat and a whole lotta flights! 2026 Menu Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself! Eats First up, we grabbed the Mickey-shaped Macaron made with SNICKERS bar pieces for $9. This popular dessert is made with a chocolate Mickey-shaped macaron filled with caramel ganache, made with SNICKERS bar pieces. Last year, we were obsessed with this Snickers Macaron! There’s a reason this baby has returned: it’s still DELICIOUS. We love the Snickers filling and the peanuts on top. Mickey-shaped Macaron made with SNICKERS bar pieces This rich and delicious treat, though, does melt FAST on a hot day, so you’ll want to eat it quickly. Drinks In terms of drinks, this menu is all about harnessing the power of the grape in three distinct flight options (or you can just grab one individual serving of your favorite). First up, the Mimosa Flight for $ 22.50, which comes with Mango Melon Mimosa, Strawberry Punch Mimosa, and Blue Raspberry Pineapple Mimosa. The Blue Raspberry Pineapple Mimosa is made with sparkling wine, blue raspberry syrup, and pineapple juice. It’s very fruity and sweet and reminds us of a melted popsicle. Mimosa Flight The Strawberry Punch Mimosa is made with sparkling wine, strawberry purée, and Simply Fruit Punch. The strawberry was our favorite because it tasted just like fresh strawberry juice. The Mango Melon Mimosa is made with sparkling wine, mango purée, and rock melon syrup. This is the one mimosa in the flight that tastes the most like a sweet dessert wine. Mimosa Flight If you just want to grab your favorite mimosa flavor, they’re each priced at $21.50. You can also get the Red Wine Flight for $23.00, which comes with Famille Perrin Côtes du Rhône Reserve Rosé, Nielson Pinot Noir, and Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin De Tablas Rouge. The final flight is the White Wine Flight for $23.00, which includes Kendall Jackson Chenin Blanc, La Crema Chardonnay, and Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin De Tablas Blanc. Uncork California You can also get some individual wines priced separately: The Tablas Creek Vineyard, Patelin de Tablas Rouge, featured in the Red Wine Flight for $20.00. The Tablas Creek Vineyard, Patelin de Tablas Blanc, featured in the Red Wine Flight for $15.00. And the Une Femme, The Betty Sparkling Brut for $10.00, if you prefer your bubbly straight, and without fruit juice mixers. OVERALL We know we’ll be coming back for the Strawberry Punch Mimosa, which is a lovely, refreshing drink that’s perfect for hot days. The Snickers macaron, too, is one of those items that will be popular again this year, and for good reason (we’re already thinking about picking up another one). Overall, that makes this a food booth you don’t want to miss. Full Spread at Uncork California Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. We are DEVASTATED over here, and if that sounds like an exaggeration…well, we see how it can sound that way, but we promise we are genuinely heartbroken. Fudge Easter Egg For years, over at Disneyland Resort, you could grab these MASSIVE, gorgeous, delicious Fudge Easter Eggs around the Easter season. Previously, we’ve grabbed them at Marceline’s Confectionery (now Disney Wonderful World of Sweets) and Candy Palace, but now, we’ve got terrible news. For the second year in a row, these special treats will NOT be returning for the season. 2025 was the first year we didn’t see these eggs return, and it looks like the same is happening this year. We stopped by Disneyland recently to check with Cast Members, who told us that they won’t be returning again for 2026. Back in 2024, when these eggs were last available, they were only available on select days and had to be mobile-ordered on the Disneyland app. The iconic treat WON’T be returning this year Previously, we saw flavors like Chocolate Nut, Vanilla Nut, Chocolate Cream, Black Walnut, and Peanut Butter Fudge, and while they were “only” 8 oz, the fudge packed inside made them feel a lot heavier. We loved looking through the Candy Palace windows to see Cast Members creating them, and are bummed we’ll miss out on this iconic seasonal treat yet again. The making of Fudge Easter Eggs We’ll be holding out hope that they’ll return once again in 2027, but in the meantime, you can check out Disneyland Resort’s other bakeries, such as Pooh Corner, Trolley Treats, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff, and more, to see what other Easter treats are available during this time of year. However, we are already looking forward to Christmas time when we’ll hopefully see the iconic, giant Candy Canes return to the resort! More Recent Disneyland Resort News!
