Today, Disneyland Paris welcomed guests back, marking the occasion in a reopening ceremony featuring Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski. The phased reopening of Disneyland Paris begins with Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village and Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel, and includes enhanced health and safety measures in line with guidance from the French government and health authorities. Some experiences have been reimagined, some provide a new way for guests to be part of the magic, and some will be temporarily unavailable and return at a later date, but the timeless magic and unique storytelling for which the resort is known will remain. The reopening of Disneyland Paris is also a chance to continue the resort’s ongoing commitment to support the local communities. Together with Disney VoluntEARS, in August the resort will welcome 300 children from the Île-de-France region and their families to experience a day at Disneyland Park during their summer holidays. Additionally, the resort made several donations to the local community over the past few months, including food and medical-related supplies and the planting of thousands of flowers to recognize and honor local hospital staff. Greetings from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The final two theme parks have officially reopened today which means all four Disney World parks are now open. Hollywood Studios We’ll be providing you with live coverage of Disney’s Hollywood Studios throughout the day, but right now we want to take a moment to show you what the crowds look like! Guests were making their way into Disney’s Hollywood Studios bright and early this morning! Here’s how the park looked around 9:45AM! The park was officially set to open at 10AM. Crowds So far, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has definitely felt the most crowded to us out of all four theme parks. This park doesn’t seem to absorb crowds as well as others. In fact, the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge off of Grand Avenue was pretty congested this morning. Once we made out way through, there was a little more room to breathe. Crowds The Black Spire Outpost’s marketplace is now closed off and each party now waits on a marker. Cast Members will let the next party in once another party leaves. Each store that is open in this area (up to Ronto Roasters) will only allow one party into the store at a time. Marketplace Meanwhile, a standby line outside Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities was forming. Queue for Dok Ondar’s 26 guests are allowed inside Dok Ondar’s at a time which felt pretty cramped inside this tightly enclosed shop, even with social distancing markers on the ground. Dok Ondar’s And here was the line for Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run this morning. It already was up to a 55-minute wait around 11AM. Smugglers Run Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has a lot of bottlenecky spots, so at times the crowd was pinched a little more than we’d seen in other parks. Star Wars Crowds Hollywood Studios has had the most crowds to the visual eye compared to the other parks so far. Galaxy’s Edge Crowds Wait times are longer than we have seen at the other parks so far as well. Shortly after 10AM, several attractions were already posting lengthier wait times than we’re used to seeing. Screenshot of Wait Times Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was showing a 60-minute wait right around 10AM. Toy Story Land also longer wait times as well. Slinky Dog Dash was up to a 65-minute wait. Screenshot of Wait Times Around 11AM, the crowds seemed to shift around a little. Some of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge folks dispersed into other areas of the park. Millennium Falcon had dropped down to a 25-minute wait… . Screenshot of Wait Times Meanwhile rides such as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror saw a big increase in wait times. Both attractions were at 50-minutes around 11AM. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway went up to a 70-minute wait. Screenshot of Wait Times We’ll continue to update this post throughout the day, but so far Hollywood Studios feels pretty busy. Stay tuned! Check out how FAST the first group of boarding passes for Rise of the Resistance filled up this morning here! Are you thinking about visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Greetings from high up above on the Disney Skyliner! Disney Skyliner! We climbed aboard Disney World’s newest transportation system for the first time since mid-March and we’re sharing all the details when it comes to a post-closure ride in the sky! Arriving and Waiting in Line Waiting in line for the Skyliner is much like waiting in line for the Disney buses. Physical distancing floor markers were present in the queue area. Gondola Line When we arrived this morning, the gondolas were down temporarily. Cast Member encouraged guests to take the available busses. Those of us who wanted to wait for the Skyliners to start up again waited in a line outside of the main queue. See what riding the bus is like at a reopened Disney World here! Boarding and Riding in the Gondola At this time, each gondola will carry only one travel group at a time. The Cast Member asks how many are in your party and you are guided to your gondola, much like our experience on the Skyliner prior to the closures. A Gondola Cabin All to Ourselves Overall Experience The experience was similar to riding many of the attractions at Disney World. All groups are spaced by seating every other row or given an entire ride vehicle to themselves. This policy is also reflected in the gondola by seating one group per cabin to limit prolonged contact from other guests. The line looked long due to physical distancing but moved quickly once the gondolas were running again. As far as cleaning procedures, we were told by a Cast Member that the gondola cabins get cleaned once a day. Overall, riding the gondola is not much different before it closed in March. But there is more room inside the gondola an the potential for a longer wait time. Learn more about the Disney Skyliner here! What is your preferred mode of transportation at Disney World? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: How Do The 10 Biggest Disney News Stories This Year Affect Your Disney Trips in 2019? Find Out! We’re live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today for its grand reopening! Hollywood Studios Temperature and bag checks went smoothly and we were allowed inside the park just a few minutes before for the first group of Rise of the Resistance boarding passes to be released at 10AM. Originally, Disney World announced they would not be using virtual queues for any theme park. Later, they retracted this statement and said Disney’s Hollywood Studios would, in fact, reopen with a modified virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance. The virtual queue feature is accessible on the My Disney Experience app. Screenshot Instead of arriving at the park super-early in the morning and jockeying for a spot, groups of boarding passes will now be released in batches three times a day (10AM, 1PM, and 4PM). Guests can only join one boarding group per day and getting a spot in a boarding group still doesn’t guarantee you’ll actually get to ride the new attraction. Screenshot When the first group of Rise of the Resistance boarding passes was issued at 10AM this morning, they were distributed within 3 MINUTES! Screenshot If you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, you’ll still have the chance to join a boarding group at 1PM and 4PM, but we’d make sure you set a reminder since these groups are also liable to go fast! See what’s new at Magic Kingdom this week here! Did you get a 10AM boarding group for Rise of the Resistance? Let us know in the comments below! Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are officially reopening in Disney World today. Hollywood Studios We are reporting LIVE from both parks to give you all the details on crowds, wait times, and the overall park changes. OH, and, of course, we will be answering the biggest question on most people’s minds — the new Rise of the Resistance virtual queue. We will be updating this post throughout the day, so be sure to check back!! Entering Hollywood Studios We were let into the parking lot at 9:30AM this morning. Others had already arrived and parked before us. This is pretty different from what we’ve experienced at other parks. Up until today, we have been held with long lines until about 20-30 minutes prior to the park opening. Hollywood Studios Like the other parks, parking was every other car. Parking Temperature screening was up first. We headed through white tents and AdventHealth team members took our temperatures using handheld infrared thermometers. Temperature Checks For the security screening, we were asked to remove all umbrellas, metal drink containers, and aerosol cans. Everything else could be carried through the detectors. Security Screening There was no fingerprint touchpoint at the admission point. You just scan your MagicBand or card. Ticket Scanner Disney had opened the gates early to allow guests to start filing into Hollywood Studios. We were inside the park around 9:45AM. Hollywood Studios’ official opening time was 10AM. Crowds and Wait Times We noticed that crowds were a little heavier here than we felt like they were on other parks’ opening days. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was packed before the park was even officially open. Crowds Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue The Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue showed up as an option on our home screen before we were even in the park. Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue The queue opens at three different windows — 10AM, 1PM, and 4PM. Outside of those windows, you cannot select the Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue. Unavailable Prior to 10 AM We were able to snag a boarding group this morning. But within 3 minutes all of the 10AM boarding groups had been distributed. We will continue to update this post throughout the day, so please check back for more details and info! What questions do you have about the reopening of Hollywood Studios? Let us know in the comments below and we will do our best to get them answered for ya! EPCOT is gearing up for its grand reopening celebration tomorrow — which will also be the official start date of the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. Food and Wine Festival And while we’ve been exploring the park during a special Cast Member preview this week, EPCOT’s World Showcase has felt a little different. Each pavilion is normally staffed by cultural representatives from each of the represented countries, but for now, it could be a long time before all of the cultural ambassadors can return to Disney World. Back when the parks first extended their temporary closure dates, Disney World canceled all of its future college and cultural programs for candidates who were “due to arrive through early June.” Recently we learned college programs would not likely resume anytime soon. And now it appears some of Disney World’s cultural ambassadors are also receiving notification that their programs are being canceled through the end of the year. EPCOT We were contacted by several cultural representatives who told us they’d received word from Disney that their programs have been canceled. Even candidates who’d received offers had their offers withdrawn. Since Disney World’s cultural ambassadors comprise a large portion of the workforce at EPCOT’s World Showcase, returning Cast Members will most-likely be filling in for them until they’re able to return. We’ll be checking in tomorrow on the pavilions to show you what EPCOT is like when it reopens so stay tuned for more updates. Is international travel banned right now? Here’s the latest info for Disney fans abroad! Will you be heading to EPCOT tomorrow for the reopening? Let us know in the comments below! Disney World has reopened, but there are still some changes to be made to some of the new systems. Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Annual Passholders have been on a bit of a rollercoaster this year when it comes to getting their money’s worth. Many folks have had their passes extended for the length of the closure — but that’s not the end of things. With the introduction of the Disney Park Pass reservation system to limit capacity, Passholders aren’t necessarily guaranteed entry into the parks. To help mitigate Passholder concerns, Disney recently announced an added 30-day extension on top of the closure extension to make up for the capacity limits. Now, we know that those extensions are coming soon — and Passholders have another option. In an email to Passholders today, Disney spoke about that way that “Park reservations will change the way that many of our Passholders use their pass.” The resultant 30-day extension to make up for this will be automatically processed and visible in eligible Passholders’ My Disney Experience Accounts over the coming weeks. So, keep an eye on your expiration date! 2020 Annual Passholder Magnet If you would rather NOT take the extension, you are welcome to cancel your pass and instead receive an applicable refund instead of the additional month. To do so, or if you have any other concerns, call V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. Keep in mind, lines may be busy so be patient and keep trying as needed. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates on the park reopenings and Annual Passholder options. Disneyland Resort has been closed since March with no established reopening date. Disneyland Annual Passholder Magnet Annual Passholders were granted an initial extension when the park first closed.
