Disney World parks seem to be seeing getting popular again on weekends. Of course, we expected Labor Day weekend to be busy, but we’re also starting to see future weekend dates with no park pass reservations available. Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom We usually look at park pass reservations every day, and we’ve noticed that at least part of next weekend could see all four parks at Disney World at capacity. Disney World set up the Park Pass Reservation system after the parks reopened. It basically helps the parks limit their capacity to stay in line with social distancing guidelines due to the global health crisis. The system requires guests to go online and book their park visits in advance. Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom We did a search of park pass availability on the Disney World website and looked at next weekend — and we saw that there isn’t a single park pass available for any of the four parks on Saturday, September 19th. Disney World Park Pass Availability for September 19, 2020 ©Disney Obviously, this could change. Some guests might cancel or change their reservations. We’ve also seen availability change for certain dates in the past. There have even been cases where we booked park pass reservations for a day that appeared in the system as fully booked. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge So if you were planning on hitting the parks Saturday, our best advice is to just keep checking. There’s a good chance you still might be able to get a park pass for that date if Disney updates availability! We’ll also keep looking and let you know if park pass reservations open up for Saturday. Although much of Disney World reopened this summer, many locations within the theme parks have remained closed. However, we are starting to see many of these places beginning to reopen. Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios We’ve recently seen a few openings at EPCOT, including the Imagination Pavilion Popcorn Cart and Garden House. Now, we’ve spotted a location reopening at Hollywood Studios — Hollywood Scoops! We’ll never say no to ice cream, so we were happy to see Hollywood Scoops reopened! However, we noticed the menu was a little smaller, which seems pretty normal right now. Gone are items like the Apple Crisp a la Mode sundae and the Hard Root Beer Float has also disappeared (boo). Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios Menu Other items missing include cones and the ice cream sandwich on a fresh-baked cookie. We were most disappointed that the Kids’ Cone was gone — we like to order that because it gets the Mickey’d up treatment! We opted for some scoops of strawberry ice cream instead. Strawberry Ice Cream at Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios Although cones aren’t on the menu, we asked nicely and they gave us one! So, if you’re looking for a cone, simply ask. But do note that they may not always be available. Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios We broke up the cone and scattered the pieces over the top to enjoy a little crunch with all the smoothness of the ice cream. YUMMY! Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios The hand-scooped cup is $5.49, and you can choose from chocolate, vanilla, orange sherbet, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, or fat-free no sugar added vanilla. Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Saratoga Springs! Saratoga Springs And, we’ve got plenty of entertainment, merchandise, and food updates to share with you, so let’s dive right on in! Disney’s Saratoga Springs Entertainment Update Artist’s Palette While you’re making your way around the resort before you chill at the pool or grab some lunch, you can test your hand at some Disney Trivia over at the Artist’s Palette! We say that whoever loses has to buy a winner a cupcake from the bakery! ;D Trivia Board Since Pin Trading is back (just in a new way than we’ve experienced it before), guests can also take part in the activity over at the Artist’s Palette! You can drop which pins you’re going to trade in the designated box, then point out which pin you would like to have to a Cast Member so they can grab it for you! Pin Trading Community Hall If you’re looking for more ways to have fun with your family, the Community Hall is a great place to stop by for a whole slew of activities! Along with the ability to rent movies and sports equipment… Activities Board …guests can also watch a Movie Under the Stars nightly in the courtyard… Activities Board …as well as enjoy the Happily Ever After Fireworks recording on their in-room televisions for a relaxing night! Activities Board Since Saratoga Springs is an equestrian-themed resort, you can also color a horse to send out to the races on the Community Hall’s board! Disney Magnets However, not all the crafts are free to join (but $3 to $6 for a pin seems like a STEAL to us!!). Disney Magnets The coloring magnets are a freebie, though, that guests can enjoy while they’re at the Community Hall! All they have to do is pick which magnet they’d like from the whiteboard and design it any way they’d like! Coloring Magnets Maybe you’ll color the Genie green instead of blue… Genie Coloring Magnet …or give Donald a red outfit, instead of his signature blue jacket instead! Donald Coloring Magnet Bike Rental One of the most fun experiences that money can buy at a resort is the ability to ride around on a bike and admire the property you’re staying at! Surry bikes and regular bikes are still available to rent. Bike Rental Currently, regular bikes and surrey bikes are still available for rental at Saratoga Springs… Bike Rental …but instead of the outdoor window, guests will need to go inside the Community Hall to purchase time on their chosen ride! Bike Rental Disney’s Saratoga Springs Food Update Artist’s Palette Although Halloween goodies have been popping up all over Disney World, sometimes you just want to lounge on a pool chair and eat some Goofy’s Sour Cherry Balls! EPCOT Food Updates Imagination Pavilion Popcorn cart The Imagination Pavilion Popcorn Cart has officially reopened with hours from 12PM to 5PM. Imagination Pavilion Popcorn Cart at EPCOT Not only can you get popcorn here, but you can also snag one of those sweet Halloween popcorn buckets! Read more about this popcorn hot spot here! Garden House Garden House at the Japan Pavilion has also reopened (although it looks like it’s only open on weekends). There, we spotted a new drink, the Sparkling Dragon. Some dinosaur fans might love heading to Jurassic Park in Universal Orlando, but DinoLand, U.S.A. has a special place in our hearts over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! DinoLand, U.S.A. This section of the park has recently been pretty quiet ever since Primeval Whirl closed permanently. But, today, there was a bit of hubbub in the area since Fossil Fun Games officially reopened to guests exploring the park! Since Disney is making sure to implement health and safety precautions all around the property, not every Fossil Fun Games booth is open at the moment. Fossil Fun Games While spots like Mammoth Marathon… Mammoth Marathon …Fossil Fueler… Fossil Fuels …and Whac-A-Packycephalosaur (Phew! That’s quite the name to write out!) are all closed currently… Whac-A-Packycephalosaur …you can still try your hand at games like Comet Crasher… Comet Crashers …and Bronto Score to win a few prizes and have a great time with your family! Plus, who doesn’t love a little friendly competition? Bronto Score The booths are surrounded by distancing measures with stickers on the ground and designated numbers for guests to stand on while they play. Distancing Measures However, certain stations are closed in order to make more space in between the players. Hand-sanitizer is also available on the counter for guests to use before they participate in their games. Blocked Off Stations If you’re visiting with younger kiddos, they are able to stand on the counter to play games if it’s difficult for them to see over the counter. Fossil Fun Games Before you play, though, be sure to head to one of the kiosks to purchase gameplay tickets! Each ticket costs $5 and counts for one game per person… Ticket Purchase …and even comes with a little Animal Kingdom stamp after you use your coupons! Ticket Right now, Comet Crashers is only allowing three people to play at a time to make sure that distancing measures are enforced. Comet Crashers The Cast Member has a grabbing tool that’s used to pick up the unused and used balls to create less high-touch surfaces. The goal of the game is to try and throw your balls into one of the colored holes. If it makes it inside, players will receive a prize according to the color chart! Comet Crashers Along with Fossil Fun Games re-opening its booths, brand new prizes are hanging on the shelves for guests to win! While you can score brightly colored Mickey and Minnie Plushes… New Fossil Fun Prizes …there are a whole bunch of dinosaur friends, ready for you to take them home! New Fossil Fun Prizes How can you NOT try to win them, when the plushes are this cute?! (It’s important to note that guests aren’t able to purchase these prizes. Bronto Scores As an additional health and safety precaution, Cast Members return the same ball that guests use each time they play… Bronto Score …and make sure to keep them sanitized consistently at Bronto Score. Basketball Cleaning If you’re just itching to get your hands on one of the plushes (we totally are), Fossil Fuel Games will be open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom from 10AM until 4PM throughout the week. You know what makes a Disney World drink even better — when it’s sparkling! And we love sparkling beverages here at DFB. Sparkling Dragon Seasonal Drink At Garden House at EPCOT So you can imagine how pumped we got when we discovered a NEW sparkling drink at EPCOT! That drink is a seasonal one at Garden House at the Japan Pavilion. And check it out — it’s called the Sparkling Dragon! It’s sake, peach Schnapps, sour mix, and dragon fruit syrup. Yes, please! Sparkling Dragon Seasonal Cocktail at Garden House at EPCOT This $9 drink wasn’t too strong, although we could definitely taste the sake. And we feel like it’s a decent amount of beverage because it’s a pre-made mix that’s just poured over ice. For pre-made, though, we thought it was good! Sparkling Dragon Seasonal Drink from Garden House at EPCOT We could also definitely taste the peach, and the drink itself wasn’t too sour, so the sour mix isn’t too heavy. The dragon fruit syrup is really nice — if you’ve ever had dragon berry rum, it tastes similar to that. All in all, we would say it was pretty good! Halloween has crept into Disney World and filled our days in the parks with tricks and treats! Pumpkin Spice Sundae We’ve been picking up goodies like the returning Pumpkin Spice Sundae (), Constance’s For Better or For Worse Wedding Cake, and the new Headless Horseman Rides Again Dole Whip! But, you can make double the toil and the trouble with a line-up of spooky sips that will be heading to the Disney Resorts soon too. On this upcoming Tuesday (September 15th), Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be getting its own Halloween additions at The Wave with THREE new themed drinks! The Wave…of American Flavors Entrance The Witches Brew will mix up Tito’s vodka, Blue curaçao, sweet and sour mix, grenadine, and cranberry juice with a glittery, green sugared rim (and Poison Apple Glow Cube) for $15. However, if you want a kick of spice, the Wild Apple Mule might be the way to go instead! The drink is made with Crown Royal Apple, sparkling apple cider, and ginger beer with a candied dehydrated apple slice to garnish for $15. ©Disney And, last but not least, you can celebrate Fall while you sip on the Harvest Punch, swirled up with Captain Morgan, butterscotch schnapps, orange juice, bitters, and pumpkin syrup with a cinnamon stick and star anise on top for $14. We love the Mickey Waffle Sundae from BoardWalk Bakery. Not only does it come in the absolutely cutest bowl (it’s a Mickey ear hat!!), but Boardwalk Bakery often features different ice cream flavors with it. We’re crazy about peanut butter snacks, so imagine how pleasantly surprised we were when we visited BoardWalk Bakery and saw the Mickey Waffle Sundae with Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream! We’ve really been missing those days chilling on the pool deck on a Disney Cruise with a book in one hand and unlimited ice cream in the other. ©Disney Magic As a safety precaution, Disney Cruise Line has continued to postpone sailings through early November due to the Cruise Line International Association’s (CLIA) order to halt departures. During this time, Disney has been offering cancellation flexibility and refunds to accommodate guests. Although Port Canaveral hopes that cruise ships will begin to depart as early as January, the Disney Cruise Line’s itinerary has continued to reflect changes according to officials’ guidance. At the moment, departure dates have been postponed through the middle of December aboard the Disney ships. Previously, Disney Cruise Line had canceled sailings through early November. ©Disney Now, Disney has removed sailings in early December. And the earliest December departure appearing online is December 12th through December 19th. Christmas in Disney World is definitely going to look a bit different this year. Christmas Tree in Epcot Over in EPCOT, the Candlelight Processional has been canceled, but a few highlights from the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will be returning and we cannot WAIT to eat ALL the snacks! Earlier this week, Disney confirmed that they will be celebrating “highlights from the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays” starting on November 27th. EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays As part of that celebration, holiday kitchens will return around the World Showcase promenade. Here are the booths that Disney has CONFIRMED will be returning this year: 1. American Holiday Table American Holiday Table is a festival booth that, in past years, has been located in the America pavilion in EPCOT. American Holiday Table Disney has confirmed that the Slow-roasted Turkey will be back at this booth. Last year, the Slow-Roasted Turkey was served with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce and was $5.75. Slow-Roasted Turkey from American Holiday Table It’s basically Thanksgiving on a plate. We’re eager to see if the Holiday Beer Flight and the Chocolate Pecan Tart also return to this booth. We’ll definitely be on the lookout for more details. 2. Bavaria Holiday Kitchen Bavaria Holiday Kitchen is another spot Disney has confirmed will be returning this year. This is a booth we’ve seen at the Germany pavilion in EPCOT. Bavaria Holiday Kitchen 2019 Disney has officially stated that the Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl will be back at this booth. Last year the fondue was served with fresh steamed baby vegetables and marble potatoes and was $8.25. Cheese Fondue This item is delicious and is a returning favorite! Will the Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Spaetzle from last year make a return appearance as well? We certainly hope so! Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays Those are the only two confirmed booths we’ve got at the moment. We’re hoping some of our favorites from last year will come back like Shanghai Holiday Kitchen with those Chengdu Street Fries or Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen with that Giant Tostada de Puerco. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been a fun place to play as we’ve seen animals lounging about in the Kilimanjaro Safaris or grab as many Dole Whips as possible during our trek through the park. DinoLand U.S.A. As Disney World continues to make shifts in the park operations, new face mask requirements have been added to the overhead announcement and social distancing measures are being enforced. While every place in the park isn’t open just yet to guests, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is bringing back entertainment that’s a blast for your little ones! Now that Primeval Whirl has closed permanently, things have been pretty quiet over in DinoLand, U.S.A. But, the parks are opening up the Fossil Fun Games section of the park starting September 13th for a chance to win prizes and have some friendly competition! ©Disney The carnival-style games will have limited hours, running from 10AM until 4PM in the parks. Distancing and sanitation measures will most likely be used at each of the booths as guests participate in a dino-mite time with their party members. While you’re snacking on a Teriyaki Chicken Bun or trying the Frothy Ramen (one of our favorites), the Japan booth is a great place to kick back and relax. And, today, we found that the booth has finally brought back its outdoor sake bar along with a NEW drink to sip on at the festival! Japan Menu Since we’ve been back in EPCOT, the sake bar hadn’t previously been available to guests who were passing through the World Showcase. However, now that it’s open, we couldn’t wait to try the new Samurai Sencha Ale that’s arrived on the menu! The ale comes in two options with a 6 0z cup for $5 and 12 oz cup for $10, depending on how much you’re looking to sip on while you stroll through EPCOT. Samurai Sencha Ale Although there aren’t too many hints of extra flavors, the Samurai Sencha Ale is still both light and refreshing! The beer is a cool option that would be great to have time and time again whenever you’re looking for a drink in the Florida sunshine or something to pair with your meal from the food booths. Samurai Sencha Ale Along with the Japan booth’s sake bar re-opening, Future World has also brought back one of its popcorn carts with Mickey Bars, popcorn, and other goodies your whole family will love.
