Disney Springs is a place of constant change, and we are so here for it. Splitsville Seriously, this complex is always getting some improvements or a new dining or shopping location. Right now, we’re still loving the newly-opened lululemon AND we’re looking forward to the opening of Gideon’s Bakehouse! Now, an existing Disney Springs location is going to be getting some updates! Today, we spotted this new building permit for Splitsville Luxury Lanes for work to “remove 4 bowling [lanes] and bar,” and to “add bar where lanes were and a prep kitchen.” Ooh! There’s a lot to unpack there! Splitsville Permit Screenshot The permit seems to suggest that there will be fewer lanes available at Splitsville, but that a whole new bar will be installed in the place of the old one. As I shared on Instagram yesterday, the Magic Kingdom Park skyline looks a bit different today now that our crew from Walt Disney Imagineering has reached a major milestone in the development of TRON Lightcycle / Run at Walt Disney World Resort. Here you can see this image of the first piece of canopy being installed in what will become an instant iconic attraction and portal to The Grid here in Tomorrowland. What we set in place yesterday is the first of nearly 40 pieces that will create a dramatic “curved wave” canopy, known as the Upload Conduit. Each section is strategically assembled before installation, including alignment of the steel, welding, grinding, some painting and electrical work. It’s an intricate process and something we’ll get to see rise before our eyes over the coming weeks and months. You can take a closer look at our work yesterday in this new video: This canopy will be a massive, awe-inspiring structure flowing organically over you when you race beneath it aboard your Lightcycle, serving as a digital bridge for your transition into The Grid. As the Lightcycles whiz by, dynamic stripes of lights will follow along the canopy, creating a powerful visual for riders and bystanders alike. Just wait until you see this at night … it will be spectacular. I’ve had the chance to ride our sister attraction in Shanghai Disneyland and I can tell you we are in for an amazing new addition to the Walt Disney World coaster family. I’m proud of all the work our Imagineers have put into this attraction so far, and am looking forward to seeing this beautiful piece of the digital frontier take shape on the horizon of Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom! It seems like Disney World park hours are changing all the time! Spaceship Earth Already this month we’ve seen hours shortened for all four parks and the announcement of the extension of hours in November. Plus, some days there’s a little bit of fiddling where a park will (seemingly at random!) end up with an extra hour at the end of the day. Now, some park hours have been extended for next weekend. According to the official Disney World park hours calendar, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom will close one hour later than usual on September 26th. EPCOT typically closes at 7PM and will be open until 8PM, and Animal Kingdom typically closes at 5PM and will be open until 6PM. Disney Website Screenshot We’re not sure what the reasoning behind this one-day hour shift is, but we do know that Saturdays tend to be the most crowded day of the week for the theme parks. Savi’s Workshop is an immersive experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s here that guests can build their very own custom lightsaber with hilts, kyber crystals, and other elements of their choice. Savi’s Workshop — Handbuilt Lightsabers When Walt Disney World reopened in July, some attractions remained closed. The Savi’s Workshop building reopened, but the immersive show qualities were removed from the attraction. Guests could buy a lightsaber then enter the workshop to take a look around. It was announced recently that Savi’s will officially reopen on September 20th with some of the immersive qualities we experienced prior to closing. Today, reservations for the Savi’s are available to book on the Disney World website! The experience will be adjusted to fit the current health and safety protocols at Disney World. Capacity will be limited and physical distancing will be in practice. Given the new capacity limits, there will be fewer reservations available to book. Disney stated that guests can also drop by Savi’s to reserve a walk-up reservation on the day they’re visiting the park. That said, we strongly suggest booking your reservation in advance as this is one of the most popular attractions in Galaxy’s Edge. Savi’s Workshop While the show may see some adjustments, many of the elements will be similar to what guests experienced prior to closing. Guests will still have a choice to build a saber with the themes of Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. We’re in Disney World’s flagship park today! Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom tends to be an absolute delight thanks to its classic Disney-ness. Today, it’s even MORE of a delight as Halloween arrives in the park alongside some new merch and other updates. Without further ado, let’s check out everything new in Magic Kingdom today! Magic Kingdom Food Updates Various Locations No surprise here, but we’re starting off with food updates! First off, you’ll be able to spot a ghoulish popcorn bucket available at Magic Kingdom Popcorn Carts around the park. That’s right! The Phineas Popcorn Bucket, inspired by the hitchhiking ghosts of the Haunted Mansion, has returned! Phineas Popcorn Bucket We also found some Halloween Cotton Candy available today in tangerine and grape from the Magic Kingdom Popcorn Carts. Halloween Cotton Candy Was it better than normal cotton candy? Hard to say…but it certainly was a treat! You can snag some on your next trip for $5. Frontierland Over at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, we spotted Mini Orange and Black Churros — the littler version of the Orange and Black Churros we spotted the other day! Magic Kingdom Construction Updates Main Street, U.S.A. The BIG news today is that Magic Kingdom is finally decorated for Halloween! Bars had to close temporarily due to the global health crisis. This regulation affected many bars at Walt Disney World. Dockside Margaritas Dockside Margaritas initially reopened with the rest of Disney Springs then had to shutter their windows immediately once the new regulation was in order. Flash forward to today when Florida bars can reopen at 50% capacity. We just learned that the little-Marg-stand-that-could has reopened! That’s right! You can sip on a Watermelon Margarita again! Watermelon Margarita As a reminder, there are new health and safety protocols were implemented at Disney World. The only time you can remove your mask is when you are in a relaxation zone or actively eating and drinking while remaining stationary. There is plenty of seating and tables available behind the Margarita stand. You can sip on your marg and take in the lake view! We’ve enjoyed lots of fun Halloween treats all over Disney World recently! Not So Poison Apple Cupcake We’ve even spotted some fall food over at Disney Springs. But, starting tomorrow, they’ll be even more spooktacular treats available in Disney Springs and we can’t wait! It’s officially spooky season all around Disney World! Halloween decorations are up in Magic Kingdom, we’ve said hello to lots of our friends dressed in their very best Halloween costumes, and we’ve eaten SO MANY pumpkin spice things! Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade Starting tomorrow, even more Halloween fun is coming to Disney Springs! Today, Disney Springs shared some photos on their Twitter and said that some “spooktacular snacks and beverages will start to materialize at Amorette’s Patisserie, The Ganachery, and AristoCrepes” starting September 16th! Let’s take a closer look at the snacks they posted photos of in their post! First, there appears to be an ADORABLE Minnie Mouse Halloween Cake coming to Amorette’s Patisserie. We saw a somewhat similar version of this last year, but it definitely looks like it’s gotten a bit of a makeover. Just look at that candy corn bow! ©Disney Springs via Twitter Next, Disney Springs posted a photo of the Frankenstein Minnie Piñata from The Ganachery. We just got back from Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World and we have a few updates for you! Mickey and Minnie Character Cavalcade at Animal Kingdom We noticed some new merch, food, and newly reopened part of the theme park! Come see what’s new at Animal Kingdom! Animal Kingdom Food Update Creature Comforts A few days ago, we reviewed the Instagram-worthy Scar Cupcake! This devious villain cupcake was so delightfully delish we headed back to Creature Comforts to see if it was still there. Scar has certainly made Starbucks his kingdom because these cupcakes are still in stock! We may be getting awfully spooky in Disney World today, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some Halloween fun in Disneyland too! Downtown Disney District We were strolling through Downtown Disney today to check out some new surprises (Like a whole NEW store!? We’re still shocked!). Of course, a stop in Downtown Disney isn’t complete without running into World of Disney, and we were pleased to find some NEW HALLOWEEN EARS when we did! You might remember last month we spotted the gourd-geous Jack ‘O Lantern Mickey Ears online. These definitely have a place on our list of favorite ears of the holiday season!
