Like other Disney Resorts and theme parks, Tokyo Disney Resort experienced a closure due to the global health crisis. The closure stalled construction on some of the resort’s planned attractions, including one based on Beauty and the Beast that was initially set to open in April. After that, construction on the attraction resumed, and now it’s almost ready for guests! “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” officially opens on September 28th at Tokyo Disneyland! The new dark ride will feature characters and sets from Beauty and the Beast. And of course, there’s also Beast’s Castle! Disney World has been ‘haunted’ with Halloween goodies over the past week! We’ve tried them all, including the Not So Poison Apple Cupcake in Magic Kingdom, the Pumpkin Spice Mac-tini in EPCOT, and the Pumpkin Tiramisu in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Pumpkin Spice Mac-tini from L’Artisan des Glaces But the parks aren’t the ONLY place you can score some frightfully yummy menu items! You can get Halloween treats in Disney Springs, too! We’ve already stopped by Amorette’s Patisserie today to try their new Halloween Candle Petit today, as well as checking out all the chilling Halloween snacks at The Ganachery! Now, we’re heading to AristoCrêpes to see what they have in store this season! Our friend Oogie Boogie must have had some say in the menu items at AristoCrêpes this season, because both of these seasonal sweets are decorated in gummy worms! The first item is the Oogie Boogie Worms ‘n’ Dirt Sundae! Oogie Boogie Worms ‘N’ Dirt Sundae Great for the entire family, this dessert comes with your choice of ice cream, layered with chocolate cookie dust, gummy worms, and whipped cream! For ice cream flavors, you can choose between chocolate, vanilla, or mint chocolate chip. Oogie Boogie Worms ‘N’ Dirt Sundae This is definitely one of the most FUN Halloween treats we’ve tried this season! The fact that you get to choose your ice cream flavor makes this customizable dessert a great option for everyone in your travel party. Oogie Boogie Worms ‘N’ Dirt Sundae Plus, the green whipped cream and gummy worms add a spooky element to this snack! Oogie Boogie Worms ‘N’ Dirt Sundae The multiple layers in this dessert offer a variety of textures and flavors as you eat it! You can enjoy the sundae by itself for $4.99, or you can pair it with an Oogie Boogie souvenir bucket for $16.99. Oogie Boogie Worms ‘N’ Dirt Sundae Adults can also try their hand at some Bug Juice! This concoction is a mixture of Absolut vodka, Midori, Chambord, Bols blue curaçao, sweet-and-sour, and cranberry juice. Bug Juice And of course, because we’re talking about Oogie Boogie here…it comes with gummy worms on top! Bug Juice Rinse down your worms ‘n’ dirt sundae with some Bug Juice for $14.00! Both of these treats should be around all Halloween season, so give them a try next time you’re in Disney Springs! Click here to read our review on the Halloween Candle Mini at Amorette’s Patisserie! Halloween time means it’s time for spooky cocktails! YES! Black Magic Margarita We’ve headed to a just-reopened favorite spot in Disney Springs today. Dockside Margaritas is serving up some GREAT varieties of drinks — including a returning Halloween favorite! The Black Magic Margarita has RETURNED to Disney Springs this year! You might remember this treat from last Halloween. And it’s actually pretty similar to the Valentine’s Day Black Heart Margarita — which we also love! Black Magic Margarita Did we mention you can get it with a glow cube for an added $3.25? We think this drink looks sooo villainous when you add the red Rotten Apple Glow Cube! Black Magic Margarita This sip is made with Patron Silver, Cointreau, black cherry, sweet and sour mix, and lime juice. If that sounds good, that’s because it is! The flavor is pretty close to a classic marg but with a nice hint of black cherry. The drink itself is pretty tart so that sugar rim is a nice addition! Black Magic Margarita You can snag the Black Magic Margarita at Dockside Margaritas in Disney Springs for $16 (or $19.25 with the glow cube!). Hurry over if you’re hoping to try this delish and devilish drink! Click here to see the Valentine’s Day version of this drink! It’s been a busy news day for the Disneyland Resort, which has yet to announce a reopening date more than six months after its temporary closure began. Governor Gavin Newsom noted in his news conference today that an update on theme parks was coming “soon,” although Disneyland released a statement noting their disappointment in the state’s “lack of progress.” Smoke Above Disneyland Whether we can expect an update to come soon or not, it’s clear that work is being done to prepare for Disneyland’s eventual reopening! On a visit to the Disneyland Resort today, we noticed a few new signs of work being done specifically when it comes to guests traveling from the parking structures to the park gates! We spotted benches, trash cans, as well as signage along the roadways that are typically used by the parking trams. Roadway at Disneyland Resort The road where these items were found is used to transport guests from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures to Downtown Disney via tram. Roadway at Disneyland Resort The benches and signage seem to indicate that this roadway could instead be used as a pedestrian walkway when the parks reopen! Roadway at Disneyland Resort We also noticed a sign along this road that reads “Reservations Required for Entry to Theme Parks.” “Reservations Required for Entry to Theme Parks” We can potentially expect to see a similar system to Disney World’s Park Pass Reservation System, although the details of what Disneyland’s version will look like is yet to be announced. As always we’ll keep a close eye on these changes and additions to the Disneyland Resort. Click here to read the new statement released by the Disneyland Resort! Fall flavors are in full swing around Disney World! Minnie Mousse Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie While making our way around Disney Springs, we spotted several new seasonal treats that we just HAD to try! And after tasting some delicious (and gorgeous!) new cake creations from Amorette’s Patisserie, we were happy to dive into some savory fall flavors. At The Daily Poutine kiosk in Disney Springs, guests can enjoy several varieties of — you guessed it — poutine! The Daily Poutine As if the wonderful smell of hot, fresh fries wasn’t enough to catch our attention, we noticed something exciting as we passed by the kiosk — a seasonal menu item! That’s right, Oktoberfest Poutine is BACK at The Daily Poutine! Oktoberfest Poutine is back! We’ve been indulging in a ton of cupcakes, frozen beverages, and allllll of the pumpkin spice lately, so we were more than happy to switch things up and give this savory menu item a try! Oktoberfest Poutine The Oktoberfest Poutine comes with a base of fries, topped with cheese curds, stout gravy, bratwurst, and sauerkraut. And even though it wasn’t listed on the menu, there was also parsley sprinkled on top! Oktoberfest Poutine The first thing we noticed was that the portion size was HUGE! The menu photo shows the poutine served in a cup, but we received ours in a cardboard boat. It’s possible that they’re temporarily out of the intended serving cups, but if this portion size stays the same, we’d say it’s a great sharable option! Oktoberfest Poutine And they were generous with the toppings as well! Our poutine had about seven or eight pieces of bratwurst, about a dozen cheese curds, a solid helping of sauerkraut, and TONS of gravy! Look at All Those Cheese Curds! The fries were nice and crispy on the edges. The gravy does soak into the fries which can make them soggy after a bit, but as long as you don’t wait too long after you order them to chow down, the fries should hold up pretty well! The addition of the bratwurst and sauerkraut made the poutine extra salty and super flavorful. Here’s a Closer Look at the Toppings! Between the generous toppings, hefty portion size, and extra salty kick, we really enjoyed the Oktoberfest Poutine! And at $9.99, this would make for a great shareable snack. If you’re interested in switching things up from the classic poutine flavors, we’d say the Oktoberfest Poutine is worth a try! Looking for more fall flavors? Adventures by Disney has had to go through several rounds of trip cancellations due to the global health crisis. ©Adventures by Disney We’ve been keeping up with policy changes and new cancellations for the last couple of months. Now, Adventures by Disney has extended its Date Change Policy once more and automatically extended final payments for some upcoming trips. At this time, most departures have been suspended through November 30th, 2020, and trips beyond that point are still being evaluated. This has brought a lot of uncertainty to travelers, prompting Adventures by Disney to shift some policies. Quito, Ecuador © Disney Adventures by Disney currently has a temporary Date Change Policy in place that allows guests to change their reservations and receive a 100% credit towards a future trip. Previously, this offer ended in November but has been extended to December 31st, 2020. Adventures by Disney As another way to alleviate some uncertainty, guests currently booked on trips from December 1st, 2020 through February 28th, 2021 will receive an automatically extended final payment date. Now, guests will have until 90 days prior to their trip to make a final payment. No action is required to receive this extension.
