  1. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Hoop Dee Doo We recently stopped by Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness to see if this dinner show still holds up, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Giddy-up, pardner, and get ready for a rootin’ tootin’ good time! The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show made its debut on June 30th, 1974, and has been delivering wonderful vacation memories to Walt Disney World guests ever since. Disney’s Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is an extravaganza of food and entertainment that the whole family will love. Seriously, it’s hard not to have a good time here. Pioneer Hall Located in Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, the setting is a huge barn complete with a stage and musical numbers, hilarious hijinks, and a good time for the whole family. Pioneer Hall Players But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu There are buckets of food for the table to share, serving up an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal of fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cowboy beans, and a WHOLE lot more. Beer, wine, and sangria are also included, as well as soft drinks, coffee, and tea, and specialty cocktails are available for an additional fee. Hoop Dee Doo menu Important Info: There are typically three showtimes per evening for Hoop-Dee-Doo: 4PM, 6:15PM, and 8:30PM Fort Wilderness can take a while to get to. Take a gander at the bus and boat systems to be sure you have plenty of time to get to Fort Wilderness for your reservation. (And note that Disney recommends you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled showtime.) If you arrive by car or Disney bus from another park to the entrance of Fort Wilderness, you will need to take an additional bus ride to Pioneer Hall, where Hoop-Dee-Doo is presented. Disney recommends allowing 30 additional minutes for this transfer. There are three seating categories that guests may choose from. Categories 1 and 2 offer wheelchair-accessible seating. Every seat in the house offers a great view, but note that Category 3 tables have turnstools where you must swivel to view the show, facing a different direction from your table. The show takes several intermissions, though, for food service… and more eatin’! That said, we recommend seating in Category 1 or 2 to best enjoy the show. Pricing is as follows: Category 1: $78 for adults/$45 for Children ages 3 to 9 Category 2: $74 for adults/$41 for Children ages 3 to 9 Category 2: $70 for adults/$40 for Children ages 3 to 9 Pre-payment in full is required. Lots of seating! And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks Soft drinks are included, along with unlimited draft beer, wine, and sangria. This time around, I opted for the sangria! It was not the best sangria we’ve ever had, to say the least. It was easy to tell that it wasn’t homemade and likely came from a bottle, in addition to being poured long before I had actually ever ordered it. There was ice in the glass that had started to melt, which gave it a watered-down taste. Red Sangria It honestly tasted more along the lines of grape juice rather than sangria, which isn’t that surprising considering it’s unlimited — Disney doesn’t want anyone getting TOO into the show, you know?! Eats When you’re seated, you’ll find that there is already food on your table — talk about service! I kicked things off with the House-Made Cornbread. House-Made Cornbread This had good flavor, but it was definitely on the dry side. The whipped butter was a nice addition because it helped keep things moist. It tasted like your standard Jiffy cornbread — slightly sweet, lots of corn flavor. Would have loved some actual pieces of corn or even jalapeño in it to give it a bit more depth. But overall, it was a good start to the meal. Cornbread and butter Up next, I sampled the Hoop Salad, which was a pretty basic house salad served with a vinaigrette. This was…fine. It was a pretty standard house salad with a vinaigrette dressing. LOTS of shredded cheese, which I appreciated. The cherry tomatoes and cucumbers tasted fresh, along with the lettuce. I think a berry salad or something a little more elevated would have worked really well here. The vinaigrette was slightly sweet, but still plenty acidic from the vinegar. Hoop Salad The Creamy Coleslaw was your basic, mayo-based slaw. I’d compare it to the coleslaw at KFC, just not chopped. The cabbage was incredibly fresh and stayed crunchy despite the amount of dressing on it. The dressing itself was slightly sweet and creamy, but overall, this was just boring. Creamy Coleslaw After a brief break in the entertainment, the main course and sides were served, and I couldn’t help but dig into the Macaroni and Cheese. Macaroni and Cheese This was a solid mac and cheese — it was creamy, but it was a bit lacking in flavor. Would have loved a hint of spice or even pepper, but it was a bit on the bland side. No super cheesy flavor — a sharp cheese would have been great. It reminded me of Stouffer’s mac and cheese, which is a super familiar flavor for a lot of people. Kids and picky eaters would probably love this! Creamy and cheesy The Cowboy Beans weren’t my favorite, but they weren’t offensive in any way. These tasted straight-up like Bush’s Baked Beans from a can with some bacon pieces added in for pizzazz. A bit on the tomato-y, acidic side with a hint of sweetness. They could have used more salt and pepper, and I would have loved a smokier flavor, too. They tasted great when paired with the mac and cheese, though! Cowboy Beans I LOVED the Mashed Potatoes, though. These were my favorite out of all the sides. They were skin-on red potatoes, so if you’re averse to skin-on potatoes, keep that in mind. They had a really great flavor — super buttery and perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper. They were definitely on the soupy side, though, as opposed to a chunky mashed potato. I’d say they were closer to whipped potatoes than mashed, but they had great flavor, and you could tell they were made with real potatoes and not instant. Mashed Potatoes The Smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs were surprisingly not dry for being mass-produced. The meat was juicy, had a great smoky flavor, and the rub was both salty and sweet, with just a hint of spice. I added a bit of the barbecue sauce to the ribs, but the sauce was overly sweet, like KC Masterpiece store-bought sauce, which is not personally my favorite. Folks who do like sweet, brown-sugary barbecue sauce will definitely like it, though! Smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs The Crispy Fried Chicken had excellent flavor and was SUPER juicy, but was just on the cusp of being too salty. Still, I’d rather be almost too salty than underseasoned, and this had plenty of seasoning. It was slightly peppery with a hint of garlic, and just had some really savory flavors going on. The breading was SUPER crispy and crunchy, which was very satisfying. It paired well with the barbecue sauce and had a sweet and savory thing going on with it. Crispy Fried Chicken And for dessert, you’ll be treated to an entire skillet of Strawberry Shortcake! Strawberry Shortcake I really enjoyed this — it wasn’t anything spectacular or knock-your-socks-off, but I think strawberry shortcake is best when it’s kept simple. There was a mix of fresh and macerated strawberries, which were the perfect combination of sweet and a little tart. The shortcake itself reminded me of a regular yellow cake, but it was perfectly moist and sweet, with a hint of buttery flavor. The whipped cream was pretty standard, but when each element is added together, it is a great dessert. The fruitiness from the strawberries, creaminess from the whipped cream, and butteriness from the shortcake all worked well together. SO much food So, is Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue worth a stop on your next trip to Disney World? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for something a bit different that you maybe haven’t experienced at Disney World before. You’re staying at Fort Wilderness and want to experience a classic Disney attraction. You want to be entertained while you enjoy some solid Southern American eats. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not a fan of dinner shows. That’s most of the draw here, so consider dining somewhere else if that’s not your thing. You don’t love Southern American food. There is an allergy-friendly option along with a plant-based option, but overall, the hearty eats are part of the experience. You don’t want to plan a separate trek to Fort Wilderness. While it’s close to Magic Kingdom and easy to get to by boat, Fort Wilderness is a massive, spread-out resort. Overall Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue has been around for decades for a reason — it’s such a fun dinner show, and the food isn’t half bad either. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were my favorite, and you can’t beat a classic dessert like strawberry shortcake. If you’re looking for something a little bit different and outside of the parks to do on your next Disney World trip, consider booking this show! Kiddos and adults alike will enjoy the shenanigans. A whole lot of food In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 2. We go to Disney World…a lot. So we would like to think we’ve managed to become experts at not just visiting the theme parks and planning Disney World vacations, but also knowing what you need to pack for your Disney World vacations. Anti-Loss Luggage Tag Now, we’ve tried a LOT of Disney World essentials, including backpacks, water bottles, neck fans, portable fans, mobile chargers, and more, and we’ve been giving you our honest reviews. Well, now, we’ve got five NEW Disney World essentials on Amazon to tell you about. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Travel Humidifier Travel Humidifier Now, you might be wondering why you would need to bring a humidifier to Florida, but the thing is, flying can dry you out, and after a long flight, this humidifier will make you feel SO much more comfortable when you’re in your hotel room. This is also great for trips to Disneyland, where it’s VERY dry. How it attaches So here’s how it works: you fill up a water bottle and attach it — and it comes with three attachments to accommodate most water bottle sizes. Mist comes out and adds moisture to the air. There are also rotating lights that you can turn on and off in case you need a night light. And when you’re not using it, it has its own little carrying bag. It’s also wireless and has a lot of different settings. There it is However, we did notice that it didn’t last the whole night without the cord, so you’ll want to plug it up if using it while you’re sleeping. view ON AMAZON Buy the Anti-Loss Luggage Tracker Luggage Tag Tracker When you check luggage at the airport, it’s nerve-wracking just thinking about your luggage getting lost, and it happens more often than you might think. So, this is a smart luggage tag that has a tracker in it that works with Apple devices. Yes, it’s a bit pricey for what it is, but if you’re buying both AirTags and a luggage tag, the bundled version will save you money. This will save you the anxiety of wondering where your bag is because you’ll be able to track it in real-time. Anti-Loss Luggage Tag Now, we will warn you that this tag only works for iPhone users, so if you’re on Android, you’re out of luck. It also needs to be charged, so you’ll want to make sure it’s good and charged before your trip. view ON AMAZON Get the MagicBand Charger Doohoeek Charging Station for MagicBand+ If you’re traveling to Disney World with multiple people who all have MagicBands, you’ll quickly figure out you don’t have enough places to plug in chargers to keep those MagicBand+ functions working. That’s why we love the MagicBand+ charging station because it charges up to four MagicBands at any given time. You just snap the MagicBands into place, and they can all charge at once! Charging our MagicBand Now we will warn you that we had a little trouble getting the MagicBands in place on the charger, but overall, this is still a handy thing to have in your Disney World hotel room. This is a MUST if you’re traveling in a group. view ON AMAZON Buy the Hanging Shelves Hanging Shelves If you need places to hang additional items in your hotel room, this hanging shelves unit is ALL you need. It has three main compartments, a large zipper pocket, a smaller zipper pocket, a six-way divider, and even a way to compress items. You would be surprised how much stuff you can put in there! BAGSMART Hanging Travel Bag The best part is that you can pack it in your suitcase like a packing cube and compress it down. Then, when you get to your hotel, just unbuckle it, unzip the bottom, and hang it up. SO convenient! BUT it does take up a bit of space in your suitcase, so you’ll need to keep that in mind. view ON AMAZON Get the Pillow Speaker Pillow Speaker It’s hard sleeping in a bed that isn’t your own, even when you’re in Disney World. This pillow speaker is so cool because it allows you to listen to music, white noise, or your favorite podcast, but doesn’t disturb those people you’re sharing a room with. It also has convenient buttons if you want to adjust the volume or skip forward or backward. Pillow Speaker It’s really easy to connect to your phone via Bluetooth, too. But we’re really impressed by how well the sound travels through the pillow! Now we wouldn’t say this is a MUST HAVE for your next Disney World trip, but it’s a nice little luxury item that might make your trip a tad bit better. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 3. We love walking over to the Yacht Club after a day at EPCOT for great food and stunning water views. Yacht Club But a massive closure will put a wrench in our plans soon. A popular Yacht Club restaurant closed today! Yachtsman Steakhouse is a New England-themed dining experience where you can watch the chefs prepare your food in the open kitchen. Popular menu items include Prime New York Strip Steak, Prime Rib Sliders, and Yachtsman’s Chocolate Cake. Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed on May 11th and will reopen on an unspecified date in August. The closure is for a “refresh,” per Disney, so there will likely be some differences upon reopening. Yachtsman Steakhouse Newly reopened Crew’s Cup Lounge offers some of Yachtsman Steakhouse’s menu items during the closure. This includes the Lobster Bisque for $19, Caesar Salad for $16, and the Yachtsman Signature Bread for $8. Crew’s Cup Lounge is themed after a port outpost with a cozy seafaring atmosphere, thanks to wooden detailing and lanterns, similar to the vibe of Yachtsman Steakhouse. Take a look at the reopening here! Yachtsman Signature Bread at Crew’s Cup Lounge If you’re sold on a full meal at Yacht Club, all other restaurants there will remain open during the closure. Ale & Compass Restaurant offers upscale New England comfort food and classic seafood dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The coastal-inspired restaurant is designed after a cozy lighthouse. Almost all of their food is great, but we think their breakfast is some of the best on Disney property! Ale & Compass breakfast The neighboring Ale & Compass Lounge offers beers, wines, and high-end liquors with savory snacks. It’s a great, relaxing spot for a drink if the bars in EPCOT are busy! To drink, we’d recommend the Pineapple Mule and Just Peachy. For a snack, we love their Parker House Rolls, Truffle Fries, Clams Casino, Crispy Wings, and the Seasonal Market Flatbread. Full Spread at Ale & Compass Lounge We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any more restaurant closures. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food news! 4. They may not be flashy, but sometimes you just need to grab a classic snack and drink while you’re at Disney World! Animal Kingdom Here at the Disney Food Blog, we love to try tons of different snacks and drinks, and then give you our thoughts. We love going for the unique stuff, but other times we go with the simpler snacks. We recently went to Animal Kingdom and picked up a couple of classics, and we’re sharing our review with you! One of our favorite quick pit stop spots at Animal Kingdom is Drinkwallah! You’ll find it in Asia, and we usually like to stop by on our way to Expedition Everest or Kali River Rapids. Drinkwallah For this stop, we grabbed a Frozen Coke for $6.29 and Glazed Pecans for $5.99. Both of these items can actually be grabbed at any of the four parks at Disney World. There are a couple of staples when you’re looking for a tasty snack and a cold refresher to keep you going during a hot Disney day. Frozen Coke The frozen Coke was icy cold, just the way you’d want it on a very hot day. It truly is the perfect refreshing “pick me up”. For fans of a classic Coca-Cola, this will hit the spot, as the notes of the caramel and ginger do come through. Do be careful, though, because drinking it a little too fast may result in the classic brain freeze. So refreshing! Be aware that in the Florida sun, it will melt particularly fast, turning it into basically flat Coca-Cola. So, enjoy your drink, but don’t take too long to finish it. When you really need something cold to drink, this is the go-to. One problem we face is the paper straws. They degrade rather quickly and make it hard to drink. You may want to bring your own straw! Frozen Coke! Now, let’s talk about the snack, because nothing beats munching on glazed pecans at Disney World. They’re warm, crunchy, sweet, cinnamon goodness, with a nutty pecan finish. If you are craving something crunchy and not overly sweet, this is the perfect snack. Glazed Pecans Each pecan is roasted in cinnamon sugar, evoking warm, craveable flavors that we associate with childhood. They’re so tasty! Although they are served warm, they will cool quickly. We try to wrap them up well in the bag to sustain you throughout the day. Any fan of cinnamon toast or even cinnamon rolls will find that these little nuggets are incredibly satisfying and will tame a sweet tooth in the afternoon, without being too sweet. These are a classic! Like we said, sometimes you just can’t beat the classics. If you’re at Animal Kingdom, grab this pair at Drinkwallah; you seriously won’t regret it. 9. This weekend is going to be BUSY in EPCOT! If you’re ready to check out the final days of Flower and Garden or live it up with the land, you might want to be prepared. EPCOT Summer is on the way. Heat is kicking in, and we are just weeks away from some really big openings all over Disney World. Is this weekend going to be a teaser for what’s to come? Apparently, EPCOT is the place to be this weekend! Each day, we have a series of things we like to check to gauge changes around the theme parks. One of the things we check is theme park pass reservations. These days, theme park reservations really only fill up for select groups when it’s going to be busy! EPCOT crowds in April 2026 Well, this weekend, EPCOT must be pretty busy because ticket holder reservations are sold out for two days. On May 15th and May 16th, non-date-based tickets have no more availability for EPCOT. Annual Passholders can still grab reservations at the time of writing. ©Disney If you don’t know, Disney World does still have a theme park reservation system, but date-based tickets no longer need theme park reservations. A majority of visitors have date-based tickets, meaning you’ve told Disney exactly when you’ll be there. This means you most likely won’t be impacted by these reservations this weekend. That being said, triple-check your tickets for this weekend if you aren’t 100% sure. Morning crowds at EPCOT There could be a myriad of reasons why these reservations are full. EPCOT’s Flower and Garden festival is in its final month, which is when locals start frequenting the parks more for those final bites and sips. Soarin’ Around the World is also in its final days ahead of the temporary change to Soarin’ Across America! It could honestly just be families heading into the parks before the massive summer crowds kick off. ©Disney If planning around moments like these feels stressful, let someone else do the planning for you! Small World Vacations has been our tried and true partners for years. They can handle your theme park reservations, your Lightning Lanes, dining, and more. Plus, it’s free of charge to you! We’re eager to see what the parks will look like this weekend! If you’re headed into the parks, we wish you luck. 10. California Grill is a specialty restaurant located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and it is one of the most iconic dining locations on Disney property. California Grill From fireworks views to the goat cheese ravioli (IYKYK), it’s a bucket list spot for many Disney fans. However, if you’re planning a visit soon and you’re bringing kids, you might want to try to eat here before June! Prices are about to increase, and we have all the details. This spot is a fan-favorite and has long been one of the most popular dining locations in Disney World, as well as one of the most difficult dining reservations to snag. This is because it sits on top of the iconic Contemporary hotel, and it is especially popular in the evening because of the amazing view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks! View from California Grill However, if you can snag one of these hard-to-get reservations, be prepared because this is not a cheap experience. California Grill operates under a pre-fixe menu that includes your choice of one appetizer, entree, and dessert. For adults, the meal will cost $99 before tax and gratuity per person. And we just found out that the price for kids to dine here will be increasing on June 2nd. California Grill Currently, the price for kids is $39 per child; however, on June 2nd, it increases to $42 per child. It is also important to note that at Disney table service dining, the kids’ price only applies to children ages 3 to 9. So if you have any children 10 and above, they will be charged with the adult price and portion. Our Meal at California Grill So this experience can definitely add up quickly, especially if you are going with a larger group. However, if you’re looking to experience this iconic spot without the huge price tag, we recommend checking out the California Grill Lounge. This operates on a first-come, first-served basis; however, you are not required to participate in the pre-fixe menu. California Grill Lounge This allows you to sample the amazing food, take in the atmosphere, and of course, save a little money. It’s also important to note that kids are also allowed to dine in the lounge, so this could also be an amazing tip if you want to dine at California Grill without paying the steep prices for kids who might not enjoy the food. 12. Cool Kid Summer is just around the corner! This huge event is kicking off with some major milestones like the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets and Soarin’ Across America. Disney World Theme Park Tickets This event will also come with limited-time perks like free water park entry for Disney resort guests and more extras around the resort. There’s also something that’s part of the celebration that might mean the parks are going to get very busy in the afternoons! If you’re looking for an afternoon of fun or a good ticket deal this summer, the 2 PM Ticket might just be for you! The ticket deal was announced back in April, but it’s almost time for this deal to kick off. Even if you’re not buying one of these limited-time tickets, they can still impact you this summer. Disney tickets! This limited-time deal gives guests a specially priced ticket that allows them to enter the parks after 2 PM. It’s a date-based ticket that is valid from May 26th, 2026, through July 29th, 2026. That means you can sleep in and not feel like you’re wasting a park ticket you paid for! Main Street crowds This ticket is valid for any of the 4 theme parks, but it is limited to one theme park per day, so no park hopping! One of the best parts? It doesn’t require a theme park reservation! You can buy these tickets in either a 2-day or 3-day bundle. So even if you aren’t buying one, how does it impact you? EPCOT These tickets are valid starting on May 26th, so in the afternoons, we are expecting it to be crowded! The summer crowds are typically hectic, but we’re sure this deal will make the late afternoons in the parks even more popular. Not only are the parks busy during the summer thanks to schools being on break, but this year is also sure to be even more popular. Disney’s Animal Kingdom The opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring the Muppets, Soarin’ Across America, and Bluey’s Wild World is expected to draw huge crowds! These new attractions, along with all of the Cool Kid Summer activities, are going to make things very fun (and popular) over the next few months. 14. Heading to Disney World on May 26th and hoping to accomplish EVERYTHING? You’ve got a long day ahead of you! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Why? Well, May 26th, 2026 is a HUGE day of kicking off summer fun and also happens to be the grand opening for several new and updated attractions and offerings. Here, I’m breaking down the best plan for you if you want to accomplish everything new in one day. What’s Happening on May 26th? What ISN’T happening on May 26th is the better question! First of all, it’s the kickoff of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, which is returning from 2025 with a few new offerings, like Jessie’s Roundup in Magic Kingdom. It’s also the day that Bluey’s Wild World starts at Animal Kingdom, marking the first appearance of Bluey in Disney World. ©Disney Then, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT are both having big days for attraction openings. The Walt Disney Studios land is opening at Hollywood Studios with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and the revamped courtyard area. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets has its opening day on May 26th as well. At EPCOT, you’ll be able to check out Soarin’ Across America, which is premiering for the 250th birthday of the United States. ©Disney Those are a LOT of new offerings in one day, so if you’re hoping to tackle them all, you need a plan. Oh, and a Park Hopper ticket! Start at Animal Kingdom The most unpredictable spot of the day will be Animal Kingdom, so we’re encouraging you to start your day there. This park often opens earlier than the others, and though Disney hasn’t announced what time Bluey’s Wild World will open for the day, if you get there early, you can rope drop it whenever it does open. This experience will offer meet-and-greets with Bluey and Bingo, games, activities, and the chance to interact with animals native to Australia. The Wildlife Express When Bluey came to Disneyland Resort recently, the crowds we saw there were unprecedented levels of chaos. We’re expecting a similar problem in Disney World. Bluey’s Wild World will be located at Conservation Station, which means you’ll need to board the Wildlife Express train in Africa. Adding in that transportation will take time, and knocking this attraction out first thing in the morning will give you maximum flexibility. Learn More About the New Bluey Attraction Here! Do Hollywood Studios Second The park with the MOST going on May 26th is Hollywood Studios, so we encourage you to go there second. I recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day and making your initial selections for this park, with a goal to get a Lightning Lane for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Since you’re starting your day with Bluey, you won’t have the chance to rope drop the new ride, and it’s going to be busy. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Another Lightning Lane you might want to snag at Hollywood Studios? Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! That ride is getting updated for the Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie on May 22nd. So even though it’s not happening exactly on May 26th, it’ll still be fresh and popular. ©Disney After you knock out the big rides here (or between Lightning Lane times), you can head over to The Walt Disney Studios. This is the new land replacing Animation Courtyard, and on May 26th, the outdoor spaces of this land open, along with the new Disney Jr show, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! Future Site of Walt Disney Studios Shows happen at specific times throughout the day, so check the My Disney Experience app to see which showtime works best for your plans. Also, note that The Magic of Disney Animation — the attraction replacing Star Wars Launch Bay — is not set to open in this area until later this summer. Learn All About The Magic of Disney Animation Here! Hop to Magic Kingdom At Magic Kingdom, there’s thankfully just ONE new thing happening on May 26th. As part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, Jessie’s Roundup will be a new offering at Diamond Horseshoe. The spot that is typically a table service restaurant will be transformed into a space for hosting Jessie and other Toy Story pals. Hi from Woody and Jessie in Hollywood Studios! Here you’ll be able to dance, play, do crafts, and more. This is the first time this experience has been offered, so we’re eager to check it out! I recommend going to Magic Kingdom before it gets too late in the day, because the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER offerings don’t usually extend late into the evening — it’s probably a good idea to hit this before dinnertime. Hours will likely be listed in the My Disney Experience app on the day of. One of the Best Magic Kingdom Dining Hacks Is Going Away in May Finish Your Night at EPCOT Last but not least, we recommend you finish your night at EPCOT. Here, Soarin’ Across America will be the only new thing on your to-do list, and there are two options. 1) Get a Lightning Lane after you use your initial selections at Hollywood Studios or 2) Wait in the standby queue at the end of the night. Soarin’ Around the World You might have to suffer through a long line, but seeing as Disney has announced Soarin’ Across America as a limited-time offering, you’ll want to knock this one out while you can. It’s going to feature scenes from across the U.S. along with some fun matching scents. Learn More About the Changes Here! Tips for Going to Disney World on May 26th Finally, I’m going to help you out here with some tips for navigating the parks on May 26th. The most important thing to note is that you DO NOT have to do everything in one day, unless you really want to. Most of these offerings will be around all summer, and some of them are even long-term changes. If you have multiple days available to you, this plan that I’ve offered above is kind of wild and unhinged. Do things at a slower pace if that’s helpful! Disney’s Hollywood Studios Crowds are going to be heavy in the new areas and you can expect long waits for the new attractions, so keep that in mind and prepare to stand in lots of lines. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a portable phone charger, and fill your water bottle and go to the bathroom before committing to a hefty wait time. If you’re not interested in checking out the new offerings, this could be a great day to visit the things that aren’t new. Maybe crowds will be lower in those areas? EPCOT If you have the room in your budget, Lightning Lane Multi Pass could save you a great deal of time. If you plan to use it, reservations open 7 days before your trip starts for those staying on property. For those staying off property, you can book your Lightning Lanes 3 days before your park visit. To secure these new Lightning Lanes, you’re probably going to need that 7-day on-property window, at least for a little while. However, there is always the chance that someone could change their plans midday on May 26th and a last-minute Lightning Lane could pop up — make sure to watch the app closely. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane If you’re planning to tackle May 26th in Disney World, you need to pack your patient pants! Crowds will be challenging and the weather could be uncomfortable…make sure to be prepared. See Everything Happening for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER Here! 15. The Flower and Garden Festival is a beloved event and some guests’ favorite EPCOT festival, and it is happening for a few more weeks if you haven’t had the chance to check it out yet. Welcome to the festival! However, be warned, one booth is officially closed despite the festival still running. Let’s dive into everything we know! This festival includes so much flowery fun, from amazing character topiaries, a butterfly garden, and fantastic garden-inspired food booths. Butterfly Landing However, this year we noticed that the Farmers Feast booth has already closed, even though the festival does not end until June 1st. EPCOT Farmers Feast The booth was located inside CommuniCore Hall and offered a unique rotating seasonal menu full of fresh local ingredients. The menu included an Early Bloom Menu from March 4th through April 5th, before switching to the Springtime Menu that ran from April 6th through May 10th. Farmers Feast CommuniCore Hall is getting ready to welcome back GoofyCore on May 26th — an offering exclusive to Cool Kids Summer in EPCOT! Kiddos will be able to dance and play games with Goofy and his friends inside the A/C (I can hear all of the parents sighing with relief right now). Parachutes ‘n’ Pipqueaks We loved the unique spin on this booth, and the rotating menu was a fun twist we hope Disney brings back in the future. However, it does mean that this booth has closed a few weeks ahead of the festival’s closure, but if you are planning a trip, don’t worry, all of the other booths are still open! Yacht Grub Full Spread As well as the incredible topiaries, we can’t forget about the iconic Garden Rocks series, where bands and singers come and perform a free concert at the America Gardens Theater in World Showcase. 16. The Walt Disney Company likes to sneak in news when we’re least expecting it, which is why we’re kinda always expecting it. D2K Animated Classics panel While there are massive public events where Disney announces news, like D23 in August, sometimes meetings that seem less important are actually the most important. Well, one of those quiet meetings is coming up, and we might get some new details from Disney! The Walt Disney Company will be participating in a question-and-answer session at the MoffettNathanson Media, Internet & Communications Conference on Thursday, May 14th, 2026. It will start at around 1:30 PM, and a recording will be archived on the Walt Disney Company website. The Walt Disney Company It will be hosted by Hugh Johnston, who is the Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. We can get some hints about the company’s finances, but they sometimes include items such as new expansions, movies, cruise ships, and more. CNBC A big event that should be circled on your calendar is D23, which is from August 14th to 16th this year. It’s in Anaheim, California, and we’ll be there reporting on all the news Disney releases. This is usually when we hear more about new attractions… ©Disney …new lands… Architecture inspiration for Villains Land announced at D23 in 2025 …cruise ships… ©DisneyCruiseLine …and anything else Disney might have up their sleeves! 17. Blizzard Beach has a lot going on, and most of the rules there make pretty obvious sense once you’re actually in the park. Blizzard Beach But every now and then, you come across a policy that genuinely catches you off guard. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or you’ve been making the trek to Disney World’s ski-resort-themed water park for years, these two dress code rules are the kind of thing that could easily slip through the cracks during trip planning. Here’s what you need to know before you show up at Blizzard Beach this season. Rule 1: Swimwear With Buckles, Zippers, or Hard Elements Isn’t Allowed on Attractions This one surprised me more than I expected it to. Disney World’s guidelines state that swimwear with buckles, zippers, or any hard elements isn’t permitted on attractions at Blizzard Beach. That means if your bathing suit has decorative hardware, a zipper-back closure, or any kind of metal detailing, you’ll need to either change or skip the ride. Bathing Suit The reason isn’t arbitrary. Hard elements on swimwear can scratch ride surfaces, damage equipment, or cause injury to you or other guests. The slides and attractions at Blizzard Beach are designed with specific safety standards in mind, and the wrong hardware can interfere with that in ways that aren’t always obvious at first glance. It’s the kind of rule that exists quietly in the background until someone gets turned away at the ride entrance. Minnie Girls Bathing Suit It’s worth double-checking your suit before you even leave the resort. A simple, hardware-free swimsuit will save you a headache and keep your Blizzard Beach day running smoothly from the start. Rule #2: Water Shoes Are Allowed, But Only the Right Kind Here’s the flip side of the swimwear situation, and honestly, it’s a rule worth knowing because it opens up a really practical option for your day at Blizzard Beach. Water shoes are permitted on most attractions there, but they can’t have buckles or zippers either. The same logic applies. Closures with hard elements create the same safety concerns as hardware on swimwear. ©Amazon The good news is that simple pull-on water shoes are completely fine, and they’re honestly the smarter choice anyway. Think of the slip-on style you’d find at any sporting goods store, the ones that stretch over your foot without any fuss. ©Amazon Here’s why I’d actually recommend wearing them at Blizzard Beach specifically: you don’t have to stress about where you left your shoes between attractions. You’re wearing them the whole time. The pavement at a Florida water park gets brutally hot in the summer sun, and the pool floors and walkways around the slides aren’t exactly gentle on bare feet either. Pull-on water shoes handle both problems at once without adding anything complicated to your day. It’s one less thing to think about, which is always a win. The Bottom Line These might seem like minor details in the grand scheme of planning a Blizzard Beach trip, but getting turned away from a slide because of your swimwear or shoes is exactly the kind of thing that derails an otherwise great day. Knowing these rules ahead of time means you can pack smarter, move through the park more easily, and spend your energy on the fun stuff instead of problem-solving at the ride entrance. 18. There is so much change going on in Disney World right now! Magic Kingdom has two major expansions in the works, Cool Kid Summer is starting very soon, and a new hotel is underway. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Over at one of Disney’s most popular hotels, a major resort perk is now closed! Don’t be caught unaware during your next stay. Starting on May 11th, the boat dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed! This dock is undergoing some routine maintenance, which feels pretty common these days in Disney World. The boat dock The dock will be undergoing maintenance through late June, but it the boat won’t be gone for too long! Boat transportation at the Polynesian resort will be suspended from May 11th until June 5th. That’s not too bad! The dock! The boat is one of the resort’s most popular forms of transportation. It takes guests from the resort to the Magic Kingdom and to the Grand Floridian Resort. Luckily, it will still be pretty easy to get to both of these locations during the closure! To get to Magic Kingdom, resort guests can take the classic monorail. You can also consider the walking path to the parks, although it’s a bit long for some guests. The boat can get some pretty long lines. You can get to the Grand Floridian the same way! Either the monorail or the walking path. There is also construction going on at “some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.” Disney confirmed these areas will be refurbished through 2026, and they warned that guests may see and hear some daytime construction, starting at 9 AM. Polynesian Village Bungalows This isn’t the only construction you need to consider during your stay here! Exterior sections of the hotel are also getting a little TLC, but that means your view from ‘Ohana may be impacted. Specifically, they noted that views of Seven Seas Lagoon may be partially or fully obstructed during construction. If you want to see the fireworks clearly, consider having an earlier dinner and then watching the fireworks from the beach. ‘Ohana Skillet We knew this transportation closure would be taking place, but we always love a good reminder! 24. If you notice something different on your next trip to Magic Kingdom, chances are it’s probably Cinderella Castle. Cinderella Castle Disney has been hard at work painting this iconic part of the park, and the work still isn’t done! So far, we’ve seen the castle be transformed from pink and gold back to its original blues and greys, and we must say, it feels great to see Cinderella Castle back in all her original glory — even if the transformation isn’t totally complete yet! We’ve been keeping up with all the changes at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom, and slowly but surely, the castle is starting to look even more like its original self. No traces of pink are left; instead, we’re met with the cool blues and greys that have graced the castle’s exterior since it was first built in 1971. Cinderella Castle We do love that so far, it looks like Disney might be keeping some of the gold accent and trim work that was part of the 50th Anniversary castle design, as it makes everything look just a bit more regal. Whether or not the gold sticks around remains to be seen, as Disney could easily just be saving that part for last. Cinderella Castle The blues on the “shingled” roofs have been repainted, as they now give off a bright pop of color. The blues and golds work so well together, along with the grey of the castle’s “stone” exterior. The light blue hatchmark and zig-zag designs on the roofs are also such a fun, whimsical touch. While those aren’t necessarily new additions, we’re glad to see that they’re sticking around. Cinderella Castle Down on the ground, the moat is still drained, and it doesn’t look like this part of the project will be done anytime soon, though ultimately, it’s hard to tell. There are still lots of scaffolding and tarps strewn about, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see the moat refilled anytime soon — though we can dream! They do say a dream is a wish your heart makes, so consider this our heartfelt plea. Moat still drained We also spotted some additional painting being done at the bottom of the castle. What was once a light grey or white is currently being painted dark grey, which will no doubt add some moodiness to the overall vibes of the castle and moat area. Maybe Disney is trying to get us used to the dark vibes we’ll be getting once Villains Land finally opens. Who knows?! One thing is for sure: we can’t wait until this transformation is finally complete. Luckily, it does seem like a majority of the work has been completed, so we might be in the home stretch now. Painting We’ll be on the lookout for more Cinderella Castle updates and the latest news from Disney World and beyond. 25. Magic Kingdom is changing constantly these days. Big Thunder Mountain is finally reopened, and Buzz Lightyear is once again saving the galaxy. Cinderella Castle In Frontierland, its construction walls as far as the eye can see! Based on what we’re seeing, more might be headed our way because a new closure has arrived. Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye! You were bigger than the whole sky, Big Al’s. The merchandise stand in Frontierland has officially closed. The closure has been expected for some time, but hours for the stand confirmed it would be closed starting on May 11th. ©Disney Disney never formally confirmed this location was closing, or if this is a permanent closure, but we have a hunch it won’t be returning. As we were searching for more information on Disney’s website, it turns out that “someone at the page” for Big Al’s. This means it has been removed from the website. ©Disney Does this mean the closure is permanent? We have a feeling it does. That being said, Disney hasn’t confirmed it formally. The stand could be in the process of being moved, or Disney could be changing its name to fit in more with the upcoming Piston Peak land. Piston Peak Construction That being said, in the concept art for the upcoming land, both Big Al’s and Westward Ho are notably missing. Upon further investigation, we also noticed that Westward Ho doesn’t have hours listed as of June 22nd, which could mean it will also permanently close. (Don’t worry, the Candied Bacon Skewer already has a new home at Golden Oak Outpost). ©Disney During our stop in the park today, May 11th, we confirmed the merchandise stand is covered up. We even spotted an IT Cast Member carting away the cash register and POS system. This makes us feel even more strongly that Big Al’s is closed for good. RIP Big Al’s! Piston Peak is the park’s upcoming Cars-inspired land. Disney has yet to reveal an opening date or timeline for this new area, but construction is well underway! This area is replacing Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, which closed in July 2025. Piston Peak Construction While we’re sad to lose even more classic pieces of Frontierland, we are excited for what this could mean for the future of the new land and Magic Kingdom. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, and more.
