Free transportation in Disney World comes in many forms… Disney World’s Skyliner You can take the iconic Monorail, the uber-popular Skyliner, or a ubiquitous Disney World bus to get around the resort. But one of our favorite methods of transportation is by boat! Recently one of the boat routes in Disney World has been closed because of low water levels. But now, we’ve got a big change to tell you about! The Sassagoula River Boats run from Old Key West Resort and Saratoga Springs Resort to Disney Springs. Sassagoula Riverboats But since late April, the riverboats have been closed because the water level had gotten so low during a dry spring. All that changed this weekend, though… Heavy rain emptied out Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 15th. Extended rain raised the water levels enough for the boats to start running again! This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Sassagoula Riverboats close because of low water levels. When that happens, buses are offered between Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs. Remember you can also walk from Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs, was well! While this rain was good news for the boats, remember that the Skyliner cannot operate in storms, heavy rain, or high winds — so keep that in mind the next time you’re at Disney World on a rainy day! EPCOT has FINALLY completed its massive transformation after nearly 5 years. EPCOT The final stage of this transformation was opening CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, a new flex space to be used during EPCOT festivals complete with an outdoor stage to use for performances. While we won’t see another EPCOT festival until Food & Wine begins on August 29th. In the meantime though, Disney has a few different offerings to entertain guests in this space throughout the day, and we’re starting to think that these attractions could be a TEST for Disney World’s future. There are three attractions and experiences we’re specifically looking at right now, all of them taking place in CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. The largest one of those is the new ¡Celebración Encanto! show taking place on the large outdoor stage in CommuniCore Plaza. ¡Celebración Encanto! This new attraction is a 20-30 minute family-friendly show that features 2 hosts and four dancers telling the story of Disney’s popular animated film Encanto through the film’s songs. It’s interactive, not only encouraging audience members to dance and sing along where they stand, but they also invite kids and adults alike up to the stage during certain numbers. And the whole show finishes with a dance party with Mirabel and Bruno where everyone is encouraged to participate. Bruno and Mirabel Also outside at CommuniCore Plaza is the new Festival Favorites booth. This is a permanent booth that will allow you to pick up some of your favorite festival eats year-round, but it’s currently serving up latin-inspired eats like Cheese-stuffed Arepas (Cilantro-Lime Crema and Cotija is offered, as well as Chicken and Avocado) and Coconut Tres Leches Cake, as well as some cocktails, wine offerings, and beers. Festival Favorites! Finally, you can experience two different Latin bands performing on the Communicore Plaza stage and inside at CommuniCore Hall each night. They’ll be jamming out and performing for guests when the scheduled ¡Celebración Encanto! shows finish each day. Latin band playing So here’s our point — that’s a lot of Latin-inspired experiences in one place! We are NOT complaining in the slightest, because we enjoyed the ¡Celebración Encanto! show and the Latin bands, and while the Festival Favorites booth could use a little help, we didn’t hate the offerings there (the cheese-stuffed arepa with cilantro-lime crema and cotija is a real standout!). But is there a reason behind this decision? Cheese-Stuffed Arepa with Cilantro-Lime Crema and Cotija We have two different theories we’d like to share with you. The first is that Disney is testing the response to these Latin and Latin-inspired experiences to see how Disney guests would react to some of them being incorporated into the Tropical Americas retheme of DinoLand U.S.A. coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While Disney hasn’t confirmed what experiences or IP will be used in this area of the park, they have mentioned Encanto and Indiana Jones as strong contenders. It’s also been confirmed that Disney Imagineers are taking inspiration in the regions just north and south of the equator here in the Western Hemisphere, including the northern part of South America, stretching up into Central America. @Disney Introducing an Encanto show, Latin bands, and Latin-inspired eats into CommuniCore Plaza before the next festival takes place would be a great way to test how an audience would receive a whole land based off this area of the world and the stories there! CommuniCore Hall Or, since Disney decided to shorten the length of EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival this year back to its pre-pandemic dates — a decision that was met with controversial opinions — could they be planning to add ANOTHER festival to their EPCOT lineup in the future, such as a festival solely dedicated to Latin-inspired eats and experiences? If they’d like to keep the Food & Wine festival shorter, this new festival could take place in the summer — in between the Flower and Garden Festival and Food and Wine. ¡Celebración Encanto! We have no way to confirm what Disney could be planning or testing with these new offerings, or if they’re testing anything at all! These may have just been the ideas they came up with when planning for this new area before Food & Wine begins, but we’ve seen Disney subtly test things before, so it wouldn’t surprise us! When the sun goes down and the signs around Main Street, U.S.A. light up, the Magic Kingdom transforms as guests prepare for the Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular. The show is extremely popular, so if you plan to watch it on Main Street, be prepared to stand in a huge crowd. Happily Ever After Speaking of crowds, there’s a MAJOR holiday coming soon — and with it comes a special fireworks show — that will likely bring LOTS of people to the Magic Kingdom. Let’s talk about it! Disney has canceled the Happily Ever After fireworks on July 3rd and 4th, 2024 — and that usually means one thing — it’s time for Disney’s Fourth of July fireworks instead! The Fourth of July is kind of a big deal in America, as we celebrate Independence Day, and Disney traditionally gets in on the action! Fourth of July photo op from 2021! On July 3rd and July 4th, 2024, guests will get to experience a special fireworks show — the Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky! ©Disney The show should begin around 9:20PM, exclusively in the Magic Kingdom. During this time, guests will have a rare opportunity to see a unique fireworks show complete with patriotic tunes and plenty of red, white, and blue fireworks. This is a limited time show, usually only available for two nights, so if you wanna catch it, make sure to plan your Magic Kingdom evenings for it! Red, White, and Blue! We’ve had the chance to experience this show in the past, and in our experience, the park can get pretty crowded. If you would prefer to avoid the crowds, we recommend viewing the fireworks from a quieter section of the Magic Kingdom, like Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, or Adventureland! (Just make sure that there aren’t any trees or buildings obstructing your view of the sky!) This was quite the crowd! We’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Time to go back to a “Galaxy Far, Far Away…” Kylo Ren! Since Star Tours received its “Adventure Continues” refurbishment in the early 2010s, the iconic Star Wars-based attraction has seen many scenes added to its repertoire of interchangeable adventures as new Star Wars projects have been released. Now, after several weeks where every ride featured the latest batch of new scenes, we heard the attraction was returning to its unpredictable glory, and knew we had to find out for ourselves. The latest additions to Star Tours – The Adventure Continues debuted in April in Disney World and featured characters from the three of the most successful Star Wars shows on Disney+: Ashoka, Andor, and The Mandalorian. The new scenes also came to Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland as well. Star Tours According to Disney, these latest additions were made up of “urgent transmissions” from Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin (played by their respective actors Rosario Dawson, Diego Luna, and Pedro Pascal respectively) and Grogu (played by himself of course) as well as a visit to the planet Seatos from Ashoka. As has been the case for several of the most recent additions, the new scenes were “locked” into the ride’s narrative for a couple of months. However, as of June 17th, we can confirm that Star Tours is back to being a fully randomized experience, with the new Disney+ scenes integrated into the randomization sequence, and that – – in the words of a cast member – – “everything is unlocked.” All eyes on you Described by Disney as an “unpredictable flight that rockets you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy”, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues first debuted at Hollywood Studios and Disneyland in 2011, later coming to Tokyo Disneyland in 2013 and Disneyland Paris in 2017. The attraction is a retheme and refurbishment of the original Star Tours, which had first opened in Disneyland in 1987, Tokyo Disneyland and Hollywood Studios both 1989, and as an opening day attraction at Disneyland Paris in 1992. Come again After a couple of months “locked” into using the latest scenes added to the ride, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues has returned to its randomized glory at Walt Disney World… at least until the next Star Wars projects are added. Stay tuned to DFB for further Walt Disney World news. REVIEW: Breakfast at Hollywood Studios with RARE Characters? Say No More! We eat in Disney World parks a lot, but we have to admit that some of the BEST dining in Disney World is happening at Disney World hotels. Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort We’ve already told you so much about Disney World hotel restaurants you should NOT sleep on, including Jiko — The Cooking Place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (yes, we know, Sanaa and Boma there are amazing, too). We’ve also reviewed the extremely underrated Maya Grill at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. We’ll also keep singing the praises of Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We’ve got another super underrated restaurant to tell you about Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside. Atmosphere There are two ways to enter the restaurant: through the hotel lobby or from outside if you’re walking around the Sassagoula River. Because this restaurant is still a hidden gem, it’s usually not too difficult to get a reservation here — if all else fails, it’s usually fairly easy to get on the Walk-up Waitlist. Boatwright’s Dining Hall Like all great Disney World restaurants, Boatwright’s has a backstory. The idea is that the dining hall is a restored boat-construction warehouse. The decor inside the restaurant is on theme. You’ll even find the skeleton of a fishing boat hanging from the ceiling. The skeleton of a boat After you check in, you’ll be led into one of three different dining areas: there’s a main room right as you enter, a room up the stairs, and a quieter room in the back. Seating is standard tables and chairs. Inside Each table is set with silverware and cloth napkins. Table The boat-building vibe is even reflected in the restaurant’s colors: lots of wood and brick accents with warm lighting. Overall, it feels pretty cozy in here, especially with the fireplace. A word we might use to describe it is “rustic.” Boat-building vibe But that’s enough about the restaurant’s vibe. Let’s talk about why we’re here: the food! Menu The menu here is exactly what you’d expect, given the restaurant’s location. It’s all about comfort food, particularly Southern Louisiana favorites. So you can expect classics like Shrimp and Grits, Jambalaya, and Red Beans and Rice. Food menu There are also a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks available, including a variety of bourbon, cocktails… Cocktails menu …and beer and wine. Beer and wine menu We decided on keeping things simple and just had water with our meal because we are HERE FOR THE FOOD. You’ll get Cornbread with Honey Butter to start your meal, and it’s hard not to fill up on this alone. Cornbread with honey butter We started with the French Onion Soup Au Gratin for $10, made with Gruyère Cheese, Onions, and a Toasted Crouton in a rich Beef Broth. We LOVED this soup. It was so warm and comforting. Is this the fanciest French Onion Soup we’ve had? Well no, but this had a flavorful broth and great cheese (which, as you know, is ALWAYS important). Our only complaint is that we wish there were more onions in it. French Onion Soup We were certainly not going to have a meal here with our favorite appetizer, the Pimento Cheese Fritters, for $12. These are house-made fritters, and we’re in the habit of ordering them EVERY time we eat here. They’re nice and crunchy on the outside, with a LOT of pimento cheese inside. PERFECTION. Pimento Cheese Fritters They’re topped with Pepper Jelly, and y’all — that literally takes them to the NEXT level. It’s so creamy with a slightly sweet and slightly spicy flavor, and we might have just eaten the jelly by itself if it had been served that way. So basically, we wanted WAY more of it. It paired so well with the fritters. The pepper jelly!!! Okay, on to the Entrees: We got the Boatwright’s Jambalaya for $26, which is a classic New Orleans meal. This one is made with Slow-cooked Spicy Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, and Chicken served with rice. After it was described as the HOTTEST item on the menu, we were a little disappointed (it had heat, but not as much as it was hyped up to have). However, the rice had a great flavor, and the size of the shrimp was massive. Boatwright’s Jambalaya The Andouille Sausage did bring a bit of heat, but the main flavor we got was tomato, which was bright. However, that with the undercooked green onion almost gave us salsa vibes. We would say this is good, but it’s not something we’d always order here. The sausage We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits for $26. It’s Sustainable Shrimp and Andouille Sausage served with Spicy Cream Sauce over our Creamy Charleston-style Grits. In case you were wondering, Charleston-style grits are boiled in milk (traditional grits are boiled in water). That makes for grits that are creamier (and we are here for it!). It’s heavy — in a good way — and SO thick. They do tend to clump up as we ate them, but we didn’t mind. Shrimp and Grits Again, we got HUGE shrimp with a sausage that packed a little bit of heat. This was good, but if we had a choice, we’d probably still go for the Shrimp and Grits at Homecomin’ in Disney Springs first. HUGE shrimp Okay, we’re about to make all you meat lovers seriously jealous. We also got the Taste of the Bayou All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Platter for $36. You get Hickory-smoked Pork Ribs, Crispy Cajun Chicken, Smoked Sausage, Barbecued Beef Brisket, Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Roasted Corn with Cajun Butter, and Seasonal Vegetables. SO MUCH FOOD, but, y’all, WORTH IT. Taste of the Bayou It’s so rare to find an all-you-can-eat platter like this, so that alone gets it a gold star. We’re going to start by telling you that this Mac and Cheese is some of the best we’ve had in Disney World. It reminds us of the Mac and Cheese we get from Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, but this has garnishes and bread crumbs on top, so it’s better. The green beans were also fresh, but nothing as special as that Mac and Cheese. Mac and Cheese The brisket has a delicious sauce and the pieces of meat were inconsistent: some were perfectly tender and juicy, while other pieces were dry. Brisket The chicken, though, surprised us! The breading on it had some wonderful herbs, giving it a great flavor. It was also nice and crispy. Crispy and flavorful We also found ourselves ADDICTED to the mashed potatoes — we couldn’t stop eating them. They had chunks of potatoes in them but were still smooth. There was also a nice garlic flavor througout. Mashed potatoes The ribs? Well, they were fine, and they were very similar to the brisket. Yep, just fine. Not great. But not bad either. Again, we really liked the sauce on them. Ribs We can’t have all that food and NOT order dessert, and what’s more traditional than bread pudding? Here, it’s Praline-Bourbon Bread Pudding for $9, made with Pecan Praline Sauce, Bourbon-soaked Raisins, and Vanilla Ice Cream. We’ll admit, we love almost ALL bread pudding, so we’re biased going in, so yes, we LOVED this. Praline-Bourbon Bread Pudding The breading was so soft, but also dense — so basically, it was perfect. Is it the BEST bread pudding we’ve had in Disney World? Maybe not, but it was so tasty and gave us the comfort food feels. If anything, though, we think it needed more breading. SO comforting The desserts at Boatwright’s are usually solid, and we’ve also liked the Banana Cream Pie Cheesecake from here, which is something a lot of Cast Members here recommend. Nosh or Not? Dine at Boatwright’s if… You’re craving good old-fashioned Southern comfort food Louisiana-style. That’s exactly what you’ll be getting. The menu features a lot of Southern favorites, and you can’t go wrong with most of them. You’re staying at Port Orleans Resort. This is a no-brainer. If you’re staying at the resort, you have no excuse not to dine here. If you’re staying in the French Quarter section of the resort, you can either walk or take a boat or bus to get to the restaurant. You love meat. If you are a bonafide carnivore, the Taste of the Bayou platter is all you can eat of some pretty tasty meats. And they’re served with a heavenly Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. Skip Boatwright’s if… You have picky eaters in your party. Okay, so this isn’t your standard hamburger and chicken nuggets kind of joint. These flavors may not appeal to kids or those who are a little spice-averse. You’d be better off eating somewhere else if you’ve got picky eaters in your group. You don’t want to travel far for meals. If you’re not staying at Port Orleans and don’t want to travel for a meal, you probably won’t want to make the trip to Boatwright’s, which could involve buses and/or boats. You’re on a budget. The prices at Boatwright’s are fairly reasonable, but this is still a table service restaurant, which means you’ll be paying a bit more for food than you would if you dined at a quick-service spot. If you have a larger party, this could be expensive. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside That’s it for this visit to Boatwright’s Dining Hall, but we’re sure we’ll be back again real soon. Magic Kingdom is making some significant changes this summer! Cinderella Castle From the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the revamping of the Country Bear Jamboree show and the closure of Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, it’s like the park is a whole new place. And during a recent visit, we spotted another change…one that you might not notice! For the past few years, the Agrabah Bazaar has been closed, with curtains drawn over the former gift shop. The areas around the gift shop have been open, with the Aladdin and Jasmine meet and greet running on one side and a seating area available on the other. Agrabah Bazaar However, after an extended closure, the Agrabah Bazaar has reopened…but not as we remember it! It’s now home to a small snack stand. It’s a snack stand now! This spot sells ice cream novelties and cinnamon-glazed almonds, as well as various bottled beverages in a refrigerator behind the counter. It’s a nice quick stop in the shade, so you’re not having to wait in line out in the direct sun. Ice cream options They also have prepackaged popcorn in refillable souvenir buckets and cotton candy. Since they don’t have a fresh popcorn machine, this might not be the place where you want to buy that particular snack. Full menu The area is still filled with decor from the former gift shop. There are lots of baskets, rugs, and Adventureland-esque props. Decor And of course, after you grab your snacks, you can take them to the seating area next door to chill. This is a great spot to sit down out of the sun and enjoy your treats. The seating area typically fills up quickly during the day though, considering it’s one of the few shaded table setups in this part of Adventureland. Theming Ultimately, this looks like Disney’s making use of the space to help control crowds at snack carts during the summer season. It’s possible that the bazaar could close again once the crowds die down. But we’ll keep an eye out for any signs of the gift shop returning! Being a Disney World fan can be overwhelming. You never know when new restaurants, rides, or rethemed classics will pop up since Disney is always trying to keep things interesting and exciting for us. EPCOT The EPCOT transformation is the latest example of an interesting and exciting change, but that doesn’t mean Disney is ready to stop anytime soon. We just found some new clues that more construction projects are on their way to the parks and beyond! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we found a few you might want to know about this time around! Cinderella Castle Heads up if you plan on dining at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom anytime soon! You might just see a new sign or two. We spotted a permit to install new signage at an address that matches up with this counter-service spot. Hmm…suddenly we’re craving fried shrimp and hush puppies. What could that be about?! Columbia Harbour House Another new permit has been filed for work in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT. Apparently, some kitchen nozzles are in need of modification, according to the description of the permit. Unfortunately, we can’t see the exact location of the work as the address listed on the permit is for the entire pavilion. Chances are this won’t impact your trip in any serious way, but you might run into a food or beverage location not being totally operational. In the meantime, we’ll let you know if we learn of any lengthy closures. Germany Pavilion And finally, the Downhill Double Dipper Water Slide is getting some love according to a new Blizzard Beach permit we found. This water park has been closed for refurbishment while Typhoon Lagoon remains open. The description of the work at the water slide is for “general construction,” so we’ll likely have to wait until the park reopens to check out any potential changes. Blizzard Beach No matter when you might be heading to Disney World next, you can be sure we’ll be on the hunt for the latest updates so you can be prepared! Well, we’re halfway through 2024, and a LOT has happened in Disney World already this year. Disney’s Beach Club Resort A lot is still set to happen at Disney World hotels, though. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is getting a Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs plus The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. Brand new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas will be opening later in 2024 at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. With all of this, and more, going on, we expect to see some hotel trends popping up in 2025. These are the hotel trends we expect to see in 2025. More DVC rentals With more DVC villas on the way, thanks to the new Island Tower that will open at the Polynesian Village Resort in 2024 and the recently opened The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, we believe more people will be wanting to stay at those properties, but will want to save money to do that. If you’re not a DVC member, the best way to book a stay at a DVC property is buying rental points from a reputable DVC rental agency (like David’s Vacation Club Rentals). Room inside The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Although booking a resort by renting DVC points does have some drawbacks (you’ll need to book early plus your booking is non-refundable), this is one of the cheapest ways to get a room at Disney’s deluxe DVC resorts. With Disney adding even more DVC rooms, we can imagine that DVC rentals are about to become very popular. The Secret Way to Stay in Select Disney World Hotels for LESS Split stays between Disney World and Universal Universal’s third theme park, Epic Universe, opens next year and will bring five NEW lands with brand new rides, restaurants, and experiences. If you’re planning on visiting Orlando after Epic Universe has opened, we can imagine that many of you will want to check it out, meaning you might have a split stay between a Disney World hotel and one of Universal’s Epic Universe hotels. Universal Helios Grand Hotel ©Universal Studios We can even imagine that many visitors to Orlando might make Epic Universe their first stop on their vacation with Disney World as the second. So we think many of you will be booking rooms at both properties. NEW Concept Art and Pricing Details Revealed for Universal Epic Universe Hotels More value resort stays There’s another way Epic Universe may affect hotel stays at Disney World in 2025. Because so many Disney World visitors may have plans to split their stay between Disney World and Epic Universe, we think many might choose to stay at Disney World’s value resorts to leave more room in their budget for Epic Universe. Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort We get it. Epic Universe will be completely new, and if you’ve been to Disney World before, it could very well be your vacation priority in 2025. COMPLETE Guide: Disney World Value Resort Family Suites More split stays between value and moderate/deluxe hotels We ALL want to stay in a Disney World deluxe hotel, but it might not just be in the budget to book a full week there. However, it’s more affordable to do a split stay where you stay a certain number of nights in a moderate or deluxe hotel and then spend the rest of your trip staying at a value resort. Disney’s Contemporary Resort This could be a good way to still get that deluxe hotel experience (and also take advantage of Extended Evening Hours) but still stay within whatever you’ve budgeted for your full hotel stay. Why People AREN’T Staying at Disney World Hotels Shorter stays Disney World prices are increasing every year. Saving money for some people could mean spending less time at a Disney World hotel and keeping trips to just 3-4 days (or less) so you can still get that Disney magic into your life. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter This is probably something you want to do if you’ve been to Disney World before, so you can plan each day accordingly and decide if you’re only visiting a few parks or if you’ll be park hopping each day to visit all four parks. However, it can be done, and you will still have a great time for less. The bonus is that your feet and body won’t hurt as much after a shorter stay. Not Every New Disney World Trend Is 10/10…But These 4 Definitely Check Out More demand for Disney Springs hotels With tighter budgets, it makes sense that some Disney World visitors might want to get more for their money’s worth. That’s why we think we’ll see even more demand for the Disney Springs hotels. These hotels already get many of the same perks as Disney-owned hotels, with many being less expensive, as well. Plus these hotels offer additional benefits. ©Holiday Inn First, many of these hotels offer discount passports to save you money at Disney Springs. However, one of the best perks is that some of these hotels also offer free breakfast, which means you can fuel up for free before you ever get to the parks. If you’re a D23 Gold member, you can also often save on Disney Springs hotel stays. The Essential Rule You Need To Know Before You Stay at Disney World’s Value Hotels Getting to your hotel earlier Disney recently announced an offer for 2025 for Disney World hotel guests. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel in 2025, you can get free tickets to one of Disney World’s two water parks, to use on your check-in day. So you can spend your first day having fun at either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for FREE. We think that’s going to change when people arrive at their hotels. Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon We expect more folks will be scheduling earlier flights to get into Orlando early enough to enjoy a day at a water park. For those who are driving, we expect getting up earlier to get to the Disney World hotel to take advantage of this freebie. Inside Out 2 has officially debuted in theaters! We have been anticipating the opening for months with lots of themed offerings in the parks including themed treats, character meet and greets, a sneak peek at the Walt Disney Presents theater, an addition to a nighttime show, and more. ‘Inside Out 2’ is in theaters! Now, you can finally see the movie in theaters. We are feeling all the emotions, as Inside Out 2 had a very successful opening weekend at the box office. The Pixar Animation Studios film, Inside Out 2, made $154 million at the domestic box office and $292 million worldwide. Inside Out 2 is a sequel to the popular Inside Out movie and follows Riley as she enters her teenage years. The teenage years mean new and more complex emotions, and that is exactly what Inside Out 2 is focused on. We are introduced to some new emotions including Anxiety, Embarrassment, and Envy. ‘Inside Out 2’ Merchandise When looking at the domestic numbers, the numbers make Inside Out 2 the largest box office opening of the year, AND the second-biggest animated box office opening of all time domestically. It is only second behind Incredibles 2. Globally, Inside Out 2 has claimed the title of the biggest global animated opening of all time. When Inside Out debuted in the summer of 2015, it opened making $90 million and eventually making $858 million worldwide. We noticed that tickets were selling fast for Inside Out 2 at Disney Springs this past weekend, and based on the numbers, it appears tickets were likely selling quick all over! ‘Inside Out 2’ In addition to making a lot at the box office, Inside Out 2 has also received good reviews from critics and audiences alike. The movie currently has an audience score of 96% and an overall critic score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has also been very popular with therapists. Therapists have been grateful for the movie and are applauding its ability to make young people seem more comfortable with understanding and talking about their emotions. The movie has helped give kids an “emotional vocabulary” to help them name their feelings. Inside Out 2 has helped to show that all emotions are welcome and meaningful. ‘Inside Out 2’ Petit Cake A few of our team members have had the chance to see the movie and they all loved it as well. They loved the addition of the new emotions, and one of our team members especially appreciated seeing anxiety visualized in the movie. She said it was so helpful as someone with anxiety to see it depicted the way it was in Inside Out 2. The movie had a successful opening weekend, and it is still going strong. You can still watch (or rewatch) the movie in theaters, and you will eventually be able to stream it on Disney+. However, you may be waiting a bit if you are hoping to see the movie on Disney+. Just when we thought we’d rid ourselves of those pesky Disney World construction walls, we were wrong. Cinderella Castle EPCOT just underwent a major transformation, ending with the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. The project took years and left EPCOT looking more like WALLCOT. But, it looks like we, unfortunately, haven’t seen the last of the mess at EPCOT with the now-closed Test Track. And, even Magic Kingdom is joining the party because new construction walls are up! Construction walls may be down around CommuniCore Hall and Plaza at EPCOT, but we spotted some that went up overnight at Magic Kingdom! It looks like Disney is doing construction out front of The Plaza Restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A. In typical Disney fashion, they matched the walls to the facade to keep up the theming. The Plaza Restaurant When we headed over to grab some more photos and investigate, we asked a nearby Cast Member if they could tell us what was going on. Officially, they weren’t able to tell us much of anything but did say that it might be a little bit shadier in this area soon. We hope that Cast Member is right because Disney World can always use more shade in our opinion! Oh no! The good news is that the dining room is still operating, so this construction won’t impact any potential reservations you might have or plan to make — at least for now! We’re also not quite sure how long these walls will be up as the Cast Member we spoke with didn’t indicate an end date, but we’re hopeful they won’t be around for long since they’re pretty distracting! Walls are up This bright and airy dining parlor serves classic meals such as the Plaza Club sandwich, meatloaf, and more… with the “and more” including ice cream sundaes, so don’t miss your chance to indulge in a good old-fashioned Banana Split! Full spread at Plaza Restaurant We’ll be on the lookout for any potential confirmation from Disney about what might be going on here at The Plaza Restaurant and the latest news from Disney World! A popular store at Disney Springs is now temporarily CLOSED. Disney Springs Disney Springs is the shopping and dining district in Disney World, with almost 100 stores and gift shops, more than 60 restaurants and snack stands, and over 20 entertainment offerings. Right now, however, one of those gift shops is unavailable, and there’s no word yet on when it might open back up. According to the Disney World website, Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories is currently closed. Ever After The jewelry store closed on June 16th. It’s listed as a temporary closure, but when we clicked through the store’s hours for the next couple of months, no opening times have been listed yet. ©Disney Right now, the calendar only goes through August 16th. The store may be closed for a few months, or it might only be closed for a few days and Disney just hasn’t updated the website with the reopening date yet. ©Disney Ever After Jewelry is located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs, and it sells jewelry (of course) and designer bags from companies like Dooney & Bourke and Stoney Clover Lane. Ever After If you’re looking for other places to shop in Disney Springs, there are plenty of options even with this popular store closed. Check out World of Disney for tons of Disney souvenirs, or stroll through Town Center to shop at stores like Kendra Scott, Lovepop, Super Dry, Uniqlo, Anthropologie, Kate Spade, and more. Disney Springs We frequently see stores close down, whether it’s permanently or temporarily, in Disney Springs. Sometimes they are replaced with a new store and other times the existing store is just updated and refurbished. Disney Springs A couple of recent new additions at Disney Springs include Vinyard Vines, which opened in April 2024, Aloha Collection, which opened just a couple of days ago, and the updated Everything but Water store. Here at Disney Food Blog, we consider ourselves to be what you might call aficionados of popcorn and popcorn accessories. ©Disney We’ve seen drink sippers, we’ve seen popcorn buckets, heck, we’ve even seen popcorn buckets that can move, but we’ve certainly never seen anything like THIS at any of the Disney parks! Introducing the Despicable Me 4 popcorn carrier! It’s essentially a baby carrier, but instead of a baby, you get to carry around popcorn. And, from what we’ve experienced, popcorn doesn’t cry or scream and is pretty dang delicious — so this sounds like a win to us. But, here’s the thing — you won’t find this popcorn carrier at your local Regal Cinemas from what we can tell. Instead, you’ll have to enter a contest to win one of these bad boys for yourself! Of course, it’s possible these could become available for sale by the time Despicable Me 4 hits theaters, but for now, you’ll have to test your luck and enter the contest. Don’t worry, we’ve got details on how to do that below. To win, you just have to follow @regalmovies on TikTok, like the post above, and that’s it! The giveaway ends on June 20th so make sure you enter now for a chance to win. And, catch Despicable Me 4 in theaters starting July 2nd! ©Illumination In the meantime, you can experience the all-new Minions Land at Universal Studios Orlando. Minions Land is home to Villain-Con Minion Blast, as well as tons of ridiculously adorable Minion-themed food, merchandise, and more. Minion Land in Universal Orlando And, speaking of Universal Orlando, DreamWorks Land just recently opened there as well! DreamWorks Land houses areas dedicated to Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda. We got the chance to check this new land out, and you can see more about our experience here. Shrek and Donkey and Fiona! Of course, we can’t forget the brand-new Epic Universe theme park opening at Universal in 2025. Slowly but surely, we’ve been learning details about the five themed lands that will make up Epic Universe: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Disney World is quite a confusing place, and you may have a lot of questions — we get it! Cinderella Castle How should you plan your trip? How many days should you dedicate to being in the parks? What are the best hotels to stay at? Those are just a few of the questions you may be asking before your vacation, and we’ve got plenty of resources to help you out. However, it’s come to our attention that there are some questions about the parks that are totally going viral right now, so let’s help clear up those answers! When Will Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Open? We’ve also seen this question posed as “When will Splash Mountain reopen?” and the answers are a little different if we’re being technical. Splash Mountain will technically never return to Disney World and Disneyland because it’s being officially replaced with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has the exact same ride system and is in the same building as Splash Mountain, so it’s more of a retheme. At the time of this post, Cast Member previews have taken place and Annual Passholder previews are currently in progress. This ride will open to the public on June 28th in Disney World! Disneyland has not yet announced an opening date for its version of the same ride. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure queue When it opens in Disney World, guests can ride by either joining the Virtual Queue at 7AM or 1PM or by purchasing Genie+ for the day and booking a return time. When Will Park Pass Reservations End? We have good news about this one — they already have! Park Pass Reservations were utilized when the parks reopened after the COVID-19 closure and didn’t go away for date-based tickets until January 9th, 2024. This system required visitors to reserve a spot at the park they wanted to visit ahead of time. CommuniCore Hall Now, park passes are still required for Annual Passholders if they’re looking to enter a park before 2PM (unless it’s a Good-to-Go day), and they’re also required for large groups that don’t have date-based tickets. If you’ve booked a regular Disney World vacation by yourself or with your family/friends, it’s most likely you have date-based tickets! Learn More About Disney Park Pass Theme Park Reservation System for Disney World When Will Disney World Decorate For Christmas? A lot of people really want to make sure they’ll see Disney World’s amazing Christmas decorations on their vacation, and while we don’t have an exact date each year when Disney World will start to decorate, it usually begins the first few days of November, almost immediately after Halloween. Christmas decor on Main Street U.S.A. However, there’s a LOT to decorate, so if you’re looking to see everything decorated, we recommend visiting closer to the second half of November or even the beginning of December. By this time, you can feel confident knowing that ALL the decorations are out, and you won’t miss any of the excitement offered. There’s No Way You Spotted All of These Ridiculously Cool Details in Magic Kingdom’s Holiday Decor When Will Disney World Open a 5th Park? Now THIS is a question we’ve really been seeing a lot, especially as Universal Orlando reveals information about their new park, Epic Universe. We know you want the answer to be different, but the truth is that Disney has not announced any plans to open a fifth park in Disney World at this time. @Disney Now, that’s not to say it won’t happen. Many experts are predicting that a fifth park will be announced, but even if it IS, it will be many years before we see the opening of a fifth park. In the meantime though, we do know about a “blue sky” expansion project for Magic Kingdom and a confirmed expansion/retheme of DinoLand U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom. Learn more about the Tropical Americas expansion here! When Will the Country Bear Musical Jamboree Reopen? Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom has also been getting a retheme (in a way), and we finally know when it’s going to reopen! You’ll be able to experience this new rendition of the attraction starting on July 17th. New look at Country Bear Jamboree Now, we say “new” because the name has changed to Country Bear Musical Jamboree. While it still features all the characters you know and love, they’ll be singing classic Disney songs in new styles like pop-country, rockabilly, and bluegrass. The show is also heavily inspired by the Opry-style shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, but Disney shared that there will still be easter eggs and nods to the original attraction! Take a look at the changes coming to the show! How Much is Genie+ in Disney World? Genie+ is Disney’s paid skip-the-line service that replaced FastPass+, and many agree that it’s a confusing system! The price can vary anywhere from $15-$40 per person per day, depending on the park or if you’re panning to park hop. If you want to see what the price is for that day, you can check your My Disney Experience App! ©Disney You can see how much Genie+ will cost starting at midnight, which will give you a good idea of how busy they expect the parks to be that day! When is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a massively popular party every year in Magic Kingdom. Dates are typically released around halfway through the calendar year, and tickets go on sale soon after. Dates and tickets have already been announced and released for the party this year! Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle as the Sanderson Sisters This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will take place on select nights from August 9th–October 31st, 2024 from 7PM to midnight! Tickets are on sale right now, and parties often sell out, so grab yours while you can! Learn all about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party here! There are tons of different dining options in EPCOT, which means it can sometimes feel overwhelming to decide where to eat. Connections Eatery Now, there are two NEW items at a popular fast food spot that you’ll want to consider. Come with us to try a couple of new eats at Connections Eatery in World Celebration! While Connections Café is the Starbucks location in EPCOT, Connections Eatery is a quick service location that serves up lunch and dinner options like burgers, salads, chicken sandwiches, and their iconic liege waffles. Connections Eatery in EPCOT We stopped by to try the new plant-based Black Bean Burger for $13.49! This is a house-made black bean burger topped with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, and chipotle sauce on a toasted brioche bun. Black Bean Burger The first thing our reporter tasted was the sweetness of the brioche bun, but then you get that earthy black bean flavor paired with the bright, green flavor of the avocado, and THEN suddenly the heat kicks in and sits on the tongue a bit, but doesn’t penetrate it and turn into a full burn. We loved it! Yum! The consistency of the black bean burger is mushy, but not in a way that grossed us out, more that it made us feel like we were eating real food instead of black bean turned into the consistency of a beef patty. The black beans in the patty are mushed up, fried, and seasoned very well. That’s a lot of guacamole! The brioche bun is honestly so good we have to say it again! It totally sets the whole dish up for success by being the first thing you encounter. The chipotle sauce reminded us of Big Mac sauce, and it adds a lot of familiarity to it, which we also were big fans of. The fresh slice of tomato and lettuce also paired wonderfully as well. Overall, it was a real winner! SO good! We think plant-based eaters will really love this dish, and even some not plant-based eaters may as well! You’ll just need to remember that this is NOT going to taste like a normal burger you’re used to. We also grabbed the Niçoise-style Salad for $10.99, which is Crispy Mixed Greens, Romaine, Wedged Potatoes, Tomatoes, Green Beans, Olives, White Beans, and Dijon Vinaigrette. Niçoise-style Salad We love how clearly we could hear the crunch as we stuck our fork in to take a bite, which let us know right off the bat to expect this one to be fresh. The tomatoes were juicy and burst in your mouth, the olive slices added a little bit of flavor, while the green and white beans mostly added texture to the mix. We loved how crispy it was, and the dijon vinaigrette was a big hit, but we do wish there was a little more of that dressing. It looked SO good! We also enjoyed the potatoes in the dish! There’s not a ton of them in the salad but they hold their form until you bite into them and then they fall apart in your mouth, which we really loved. SO fresh! Looking for more recent DFB reviews? Is it too early to get hyped for the holidays in the Disney parks? Christmas at Disneyland! I mean, we know it’s June, but we’re already starting to think about our winter vacations and what could be better than ringing in the season in Disney World or Disneyland Resort? We’ve recently seen some hints about holiday celebrations coming to Disney World, but now we’ve got a tip about what could be returning to the West Coast! The Disney Auditions website recently posted a casting call for a “Holiday Festival” at Disneyland Resort. The posting says they’re seeking the following: “A variety of pre-established, self-contained acts who can celebrate the story of various cultural holidays (for example: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Diwali, etc.) through music, dance, storytelling, and more. All cultures from around the world are welcome.” ©Disney Now, it hasn’t been announced publicly yet, but this sounds a lot like the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure! The annual festival typically runs around the holiday season and includes food booths and special entertainment. Viva Navidad! Submissions for this audition must be made by the end of the day on June 18th, and you have to be 18 or older and eligible to work in the United States to qualify. If you pass the initial stage of the process, you’ll be contacted by Disneyland Resort for an in-person audition. Festival of Holidays The 2023 Festival of Holidays lasted from early November through early January and featured 8 different “Festive Marketplace Booths” with holiday eats from around the world. Various shows throughout the day honored different cultural holidays like Christmas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Hanukkah, and more. 2023 Disney Festival of Holidays We’re still waiting on information about the 2024 festival, so we’ll make sure to keep you in the loop as we learn more. Just a few days ago, Disney World finally unveiled CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, the last pieces of the EPCOT expansion. CommuniCore Hall This is part of what has been behind those construction walls for YEARS, and everyone was super excited to see it, basing the design off the concept art Disney had released previously. Again, we all knew these were concept art drawings and that things could change…but let’s just say a lot of people are VERY disappointed with what Disney actually created. To begin, let’s take a look at some of the concept art Disney released for CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, which are described as being flex spaces to be utilized during EPCOT’s many festivals throughout the year. CommuniCore Plaza is the outdoor area that is designed to be used for band performances, and is currently home to the new ¡Celebración Encanto! show. CommuniCore Plaza ©Disney CommuniCore Hall is the indoor area that is mainly the flex space for festivals, and also includes a new meet and greet with Mickey and friends. Communicore Hall ©Disney The space looked very colorful, lively, and had so many moving pieces. So what did the final product look like and why has it made so many so angry? Well, in the words of one commenter, “So, it’s just a big open space?” CommuniCore Hall Right now, there’s no festival happening in EPCOT. And that means, we’re not gonna lie, Communicore Hall really does just look like a large open space with chairs and tables, and some banners. One of our reporters was sitting in the area and noticed that 90% of the people she saw walked in, looked disappointed, and walked back out. It is pretty…empty right now Now, to be fair, this is WITHOUT a festival, so this is its base level. We’re hoping to see it really transform when EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival starts August 29th, and we’ll really see what this space can become. So we still have hope! But what about outside at CommuniCore Plaza? Well… CommuniCore Plaza …that’s kind just a big open space right now, too. Just like inside, there are some tables to hang out at, but there’s not a ton of shade, even when you’re watching shows on the stage! Looking out from the stage to the audience And in the Florida heat and sun? That’s not great. We’ve seen some commenters specifically be frustrated over the fact that Disney didn’t think at all about how guests will likely want to take a seat and watch a show under some shade instead of out in the blazing sun. Another look at the stage And we can’t argue with that complaint, because it IS hot, and we love to sit down and rest our feet. Now, when it’s later at night and the sun has gone down, listening to a band likely won’t be too bad (heat wise), but finding one of those rare picnic tables around the area will likely be hard to come by. There are some fun games to play though! The main thing we HAVEN’T heard many complaints about is the new Mickey and Friends meet and greet, because hey, it’s Mickey and Friends, and who doesn’t love that? DVC Welcome Center in Disney Springs Not only do you have the luxury of being able to take ample Disney vacations and having a “home resort,” but you also get access to dining, hotel, and shopping discounts, previews for new attractions, first dibs on certain special event tickets, and more. The list goes on and on — but soon, it’s about to get even longer as Disney just teased something big! But, Members are not “locked in” to a particular Disney destination, hotel, style of accommodation, season of travel, or length of stay. Instead, Members utilize a Vacation Points system, offering more flexibility. DVC kiosk in Animal Kingdom It can be a great way to experience all the various destinations Disney has to offer, but it can also be great for all the PERKS! And, in a post on Instagram, Disney Vacation Club teased even more benefits on the way for DVC Members coming this summer. ©Disney Of course, in typical Disney fashion, they haven’t given us too many details on what the new perks might be or when they could start to roll out. But, they did share a graphic teasing us with some text covered by clouds, and we’re no codebreakers but it looks like it could say, “Welcome Home Perks.” What those perks are, well, we’ll just have to wait and see for now! But, we’ll be sharing every update we can get. ©Disney In other DVC news, Disney just confirmed that the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade will close for good, and will be replaced with a new Disney Vacation Club Lounge! This will be the third DVC lounge in Disney World, which includes a DVC lounge in EPCOT at the Imagination Pavilion and Top of the World — A Villains Lair at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new lounge, but the company has confirmed that Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade’s last day will be June 23rd. Things in Disney World are always changing, which is basically, what Walt himself always wanted — theme parks that continue to change and evolve over time. ©D23 That doesn’t mean we have to be happy with some of the changes (or in some cases, changes that are never made). Now, don’t get us wrong — we are EXCITED about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom, as well as the upcoming Magic Kingdom expansion. But some people are also a little sad about Dinoland, U.S.A. getting re-themed and never seeing Dr. Seeker again. There are also plenty of rides we STILL miss, although we also might argue some existing rides need some updating, too. So here are some rides we’d like to see make a comeback in Disney World. Some of these rides are just those that Disney World closed, while others are existing rides that need a refresh so they can also make a big comeback. Alien: ExtraTerrorestrial Encounter Yes, this ride terrified a LOT of Disney World visitors in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, but some of us loved it because it was so scary. The original ride did take some inspiration from the Alien movies, which were owned by 20th Century Fox. However, Disney now OWNS 20th Century Fox, including the rights to use Alien in its parks, and we would just love to see this ride reimagined with an actual Xenomorph from those movies, which would make it ten times more terrifying. Alien Encounter ©Disney Disney could even bring in Sigourney Weaver into the attraction to reprise her role as Ripley, maybe warning us and helping us escape the alien that ends up breaking out and running loose. You can give us a call about this anytime, Disney. We have ideas! You May Want to Sit Down For This. Disney Is Releasing a Children’s Book Based on ‘Alien’ — We’re Terrified, Too. Journey Into Imagination The current Journey Into Imagination with Figment in EPCOT is a far cry from what the original Journey Into Imagination was like. For starters, the host of the original journey was Dreamfinder, a red-bearded man in a blue suit and top hat riding a blimp-meets-bicycle-meets-vacuum contraption. This vehicle is the Dream Mobile, and it collects dreams and ideas to create NEW things. How magical does that sound? ©Disney | Dreamfinder Figment joins Dreamfinder to help collect those dreams and ideas, and the fact that Disney felt the need to EVER change this ride is beyond us. In 1999, the ride even dropped Figment, but in 2002, Figment returned in Journey Into Imagination with Figment, but without his friend, Dreamfinder. We would love to see this ride returned to its original glory; thank you very much. Doth Our Eyes Deceive Us?! Is That THE Dream-Catching Machine from Disney’s Old Figment Ride?! The Timekeeper Disney getting rid of a ride in Magic Kingdom that starred the amazing Robin Williams really happened, y’all. The Timekeeper was Disney’s first ever CircleVision attraction that had everything: time travel, adventure, humor, and a robot host voiced by Williams. It even had Jules Verne and H.G. Wells! ©Disney There were plenty of fun time-traveling mishaps to be had before Disney decided to shutter this attraction in 2006. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? It was a lot of fun, and it helped keep crowds down in Tomorrowland. 3 Disney World Rides that Need to be Boarded Up and Never Spoken of Again World of Motion Before there was Test Track at EPCOT, there was World of Motion, an Omnimover ride that took Disney World visitors through the history of transportation. Okay, so maybe that doesn’t sound like fun, but it took a whimsical approach to storytelling that made learning about transportation history a lot of fun. The end of the ride even used illusions to put you into futuristic vehicles. ©Disney We know that this World of Motion may never return, because Test Track isn’t going anywhere. However, Test Track is getting an update, and concept art for the new ride takes inspiration from the old World of Motion vehicles. Could we see some of the World of Motion concept return? We hope so! What Will Disney World Change at Test Track? Here Are the 5 Biggest Theories Horizons Speaking of incredible rides at EPCOT, Horizons was an AMAZING ride that also used an Omnimover vehicle, but it was suspended from a track above it. Sounds cool, right? Then you went through these incredibly detailed scenes with animatronics, imagining the future while using aromas, visual effects, and sound effects. It was intended as a spiritual successor to the Carousel of Progress. ©D23 Horizons suffered from some bad luck, though. There was a sinkhole beneath the building and that ultimately doomed the ride to be closed — it was demolished and the space was eventually used for Mission: SPACE. Many of us, though, won’t forget it. We’d love to see it return to EPCOT in some way as it was probably the MOST EPCOT ride at the park. We Found 11 Hidden SECRETS in EPCOT’s Newest Attraction! Spaceship Earth Spaceship Earth is still the heart of EPCOT, but this ride hasn’t been updated since 2008. This ride takes you through the history of communication, but a LOT has happened in communication since then. A LOT. So if you ride it now, it might feel like it’s terribly outdated…because it is. Spaceship Earth When Disney announced the massive EPCOT transformation, the much-needed update to Spaceship Earth was also announced. However, the update never happened and now we’re stuck with a ride that reminds us of that time when we thought owning a Blackberry made us cool. Everything That’s Been CUT From the EPCOT Transformation Tomorrowland Speedway Over in Tomorrowland, you can SMELL the gas fumes from Tomorrowland Speedway before you ever even see the ride. It goes back to when Americans were way more obsessed with cars than they are now. Not only is it an incredibly boring ride (at least for adults forced to ride with their kids), but it is another outdated attraction whose time has come. There is nothing exciting about this We would love to see this ride have some new life breathed into it. Since Disney loves using IP in the parks, why not give it a makeover? Something that almost always gets mentioned is changing the ride to have a Sugar Rush theme from Wreck-It Ralph. That would be SO much more fun and today’s kids would appreciate it much more if it felt more like a video game and less like driving 6mph on a boring track. We Need to Talk About The Disney World Ride Problem That Gets Worse as You Get Older “it’s a small world” Okay, “it’s a small world” is a CLASSIC attraction, but if you’ve ever been on the version in Disneyland, you already know that the one in Disney World is inferior. First, Disneyland’s version of the ride has this gorgeous whimsical exterior… “it’s a small world” in Disneyland …while the exterior at Disney World is SO boring. “it’s a small world” at Disney World Disneyland’s version of “it’s a small world” also has dolls representing Disney characters in almost every scene, which adds a certain level of fun that Disney World’s version of the ride lacks. We’d love to see both the exterior and interior of the Disney World ride become more like the one in Disneyland. Do Yourself a Favor and Avoid These Disney World Rides So, yes, we miss some of the attractions that Disney World closed, even a long time ago. But we also feel like we’re missing out on some attractions that could be updated.
