  2. We need to talk about Muppet*Vision 3D. Muppet*Vision 3D For years, this show has been such an underrated gem tucked away in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but with all the changes happening around it, we can’t ignore the fact that its future is looking pretty grim. That’s why we wanted to share our thoughts on what Disney should actually do with Muppet*Vision 3D instead of letting it close down forever. Let’s break it down. The Disney+ Option Listen, we get it. There have been classic Disney attractions that have found a second life on Disney+, and in theory, MuppetVision 3D could follow that path. But there’s one major issue: the 3D. Unless you’re one of the few people who still have a 3D television and a working set of 3D glasses at home (respect), the experience just wouldn’t hit the same. Kermit in Muppet*Vision Now, to be fair, a flat, non-3D version could work, but it would strip away a huge part of what makes the show so unique. If this were the only way to save MuppetVision, we’d begrudgingly accept it. Maybe Disney could film a special version that captures some of the in-theater effects so home viewers don’t miss out entirely. A Relocation Besides the Newly Re-themed Muppets Coaster Now, let’s talk about the Muppets re-theme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. If Disney is going all-in on this Muppet re-theme, why not move Muppet*Vision 3D closer to its new thrill ride sibling? ©Disney A simple theater setup near the coaster’s entrance could keep the show alive while giving guests a full Muppets experience in one concentrated area. Sure, it might not have all the in-theater effects of its current home, but at least it wouldn’t be disappearing into the Disney archives forever. Muppet*Vision 3D Speaking of the coaster, can we PLEASE talk about the most important part of all this? If Disney is going to put in all the effort of making a Muppets coaster, Statler and Waldorf must be involved. Imagine them heckling riders from their balcony as they launch into the ride, or even better, replacing Aerosmith entirely in the preshow. Statler and Waldorf in Muppet*Vision 3D Picture it: Instead of Steven Tyler handing out backstage passes, Statler and Waldorf are roasting guests while “prepping them” for the wildest ride of their lives. We would be seated for that. The Ultimate Dream: Muppets and Monsters? Okay, now for our slightly unhinged dream scenario. Hear us out here. What if Disney just left it where it is and gave it a light re-theme? A crossover show featuring the Muppets and the monsters could be pure chaos in the best way possible. Hey, Monsters! Imagine Fozzie trying to do stand-up for Roz, or Gonzo and Mike Wazowski arguing over who’s the better performer. It could be a match made in comedy heaven, and let’s be honest, the Muppets are already known for their ridiculous crossovers. Muppet*Vision 3D At the end of the day, Muppet*Vision 3D deserves better than to be quietly swept away in the ever-changing landscape of Hollywood Studios. Whether it gets a new home near the Muppets coaster, a re-imagined version for Disney+, or even a completely unhinged Muppets/Monsters mash-up, one thing is clear: Disney needs to make sure this show lives on. And yes, we say this with our whole chest. ©The Jim Henson Company Make sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest from Disney. Our Disney-Loving Hearts Are Screaming About This Muppets News! 7. If you’re preparing to fly this summer, listen up! A major change is coming to the ID requirements to fly, and it could affect your trip negatively if you’re not prepared! ©JetBlue Beginning on May 7th, 2025, anyone flying in the United States will need to provide a REAL ID as part of the check-in process before boarding their flight. REAL IDs are state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards that meet the federal REAL ID security standards. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the REAL ID law was enacted based on recommendations from the 9/11 Commission that the government “set standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver’s licenses.” The Act established “minimum security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards and prohibits certain federal agencies from accepting for official purposes licenses and identification cards from states that do not meet these standards.” Security lines! These purposes include accessing certain federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and (most importantly for us today) boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft. Currently, all 50 states, as well as Washington D.C. and the 5 U.S. territories, are offering REAL ID-compliant cards. Once again, according to Homeland Security, to acquire a REAL ID, you should “Visit your state’s driver’s licensing agency website to find out exactly what documentation is required to obtain a REAL ID. At a minimum, you must provide documentation showing: Full Legal Name Date of Birth Social Security Number Two Proofs of Address of Principal Residence Lawful Status Furthermore, the agency specifies that “states may impose additional requirements, so check with your state’s driver’s licensing agency website before visiting them in person, for additional guidance and assistance.” ©Department of Homeland Security If you don’t have a REAL ID, there are alternative approved methods of identification that can be used including: U.S. passport U.S. passport card DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents Permanent resident card Border crossing card An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe, including Enhanced Tribal Cards (ETCs). HSPD-12 PIV card Foreign government-issued passport Canadian provincial driver’s license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card Transportation worker identification credential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) Residents who live in Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington who have State-Issued Enhanced Driver’s Licenses and identification cards (EDL/EID) which are designated as “acceptable border-crossing documents by DHS under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative” can use those as an acceptable alternative to a REAL ID for boarding a commercial aircraft. However, travelers over the age of 18 who do not present a REAL ID-compliant license or any of those acceptable alternatives will “not be permitted through the security checkpoint” beginning on May 7th. Minors are not required to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States. Orlando International Airport If you’re flying anytime after May 7th of this year, you need to make sure you have a REAL ID or acceptable alternative ready, otherwise your vacation may end before it begins! 8. Let’s go to Disney World! Old Key West Planning your Disney trip includes picking your hotel, deciding what foods to eat, and deciding what rides to prioritize. While you’re planning, you also need to check the construction calendar because there might be some major changes that will impact your Disney stay and we’ve just confirmed a big change! If you’re staying at Old Key West anytime soon, you need to read this! We confirmed that from February 10th until early April, the boat transportation from Old Key West to Disney Springs will be unavailable. Old Key West Boat Dock One of our favorite things about different Disney resorts is the variety of transportation options so something like this can really throw a wrench in your plans. Disney did confirm resort buses will be available as an alternative while the boats are unavailable. Disney bus Old Key West is a Disney Springs resort and you are able to walk to Disney’s shopping and dining district if you want to! The walk is roughly 35 minutes so it might not be for everyone which is why we’re glad to see the bus availability. The lack of boat transportation could lead to longer lines at the bus stop when headed to Disney Springs so take that into account when you’re headed to dinner. Disney Springs Old Key West isn’t the only resort undergoing construction right now! Disney’s Pop Century Resort recently completed a major update on its food court which took several months. The Swan and Dolphin is also getting a major overhaul by adding a new convention center, renovated rooms, and technology updates. Swan and Dolphin Hotel While we love Disney World hotel updates, they can impact your hotel stay in a few different ways. From noisy afternoons to inconvenient closures, construction and updates can make your Disney World stay a little less than magical. That’s why it’s so important to check out the Disney Construction Calendar so you can be prepared for anything on your vacation. 10. After officially being the longest-running Virtual Queue in Disney World ride history, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will soon switch to a standby queue. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind This means that riders will no longer have to try to snag a spot in the Virtual Queue on the My Disney Experience app at 7 AM and 1 PM, but instead will be able to join the regular line at any time. As of February 25th, 2025, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will no longer require guests to use a Virtual Queue in order to ride. Instead, you’ll be able to join the regular standby queue anytime the ride is operating. Cosmic Rewind has been using a Virtual Queue since the ride opened, which is typically how Disney handles new rides due to high demand. This ride had the distinction of being the one to use a VQ for the longest amount of time so far in Disney World since it still remains popular. Cosmic Rewind entrance We recently saw the end of the VQ at TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, which opened after Cosmic Rewind but ditched its Virtual Queue before the Guardians ride. In addition to Cosmic Rewind, Disney has also announced that the Virtual Queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom would end and switch to a standby line on the same date, February 25th. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Disney hasn’t officially announced what will happen with Cosmic Rewind’s Lightning Lane, but since it has functioned as a Lightning Lane Single Pass since the ride opened, we’re pretty confident that will still be the case even after the ride switches to standby. Lightning Lanes! Disney World’s Virtual Queue system is a tool available through the My Disney Experience app (for Disney World) and the Disneyland app (for Disneyland Resort) which allows guests to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions. This space is referred to as a Boarding Pass for use within an assigned Boarding Group. Lightning Lane Single Passes can be purchased in the My Disney Experience app. (This service was previously known as Individual Attraction Lightning Lane Selections via Disney Genie.) Lightning Lane Single Pass is essentially a pay-per-ride service, where you pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual, in-demand attraction — like Cosmic Rewind. Cosmic Rewind We’ll be on the lookout for more details about these Virtual Queue changes from Disney as they’re released, but in the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news! 12 Shoes That Cost a Little Extra But Will Be Totally Worth It for Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 11. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opened in Disney World on June 28th, 2024, but now a MAJOR change is headed to the attraction. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has (thus far) operated with a Virtual Queue, instead of a standby line, to manage crowds. But, something VERY interesting is about to change in Magic Kingdom — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be switching to a standby queue! As we mentioned above, thus far the only way to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been to get a spot in the Virtual Queue, which has been open to all guests with a ticket for Disney World for that day (or Annual Passholders/large school groups who had a park pass secured for Magic Kingdom). Park Pass availability dropped exactly at 7AM and 1PM, OR you could purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and select Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as one of your Tier 1 options (reserving a spot ahead of time to skip the line). Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Queue Line Soon — starting February 25th — however, the ride will switch to having a regular standby line, like the majority of other rides in Magic Kingdom. This means you will NOT have to wake up atrociously early or stop in the middle of your park day to hopefully secure a spot in the queue, and instead, you will be able to just walk up to wait in the line whenever you’d like. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, you can still purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and reserve a time to skip the line for this ride. Standby lines could be fairly long since this ride is still relatively new, so if you want to ride but don’t feel it’s worth a long wait, you may want to rope drop it, wait until the very end of the night right before the park closes, or purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass. 12. Magic Kingdom’s major expansion plans just passed another hurdle. Cinderella Castle The permit for the park expansion has just been approved by the South Florida Water Management District signaling the first major move towards the park’s updates. The permit was first filed in August 2024 with a few additions and expansions added throughout 2024. Project 407 Basin Stormwater Modifications has been approved! This project is for the construction and operation of a stormwater management treatment facility just east of Magic Kingdom. It also includes pavement upgrades, facility renovations, and other minor upgrades around the area. Permit number 48-00714-P The permit doesn’t expire until February 17, 2030. In previous permit filings connected to this project, there were mentions of impacts to 7.3 acres of surface water to the Rivers of America implying that this project is directed to Cars Land specifically. ©Disney The drainage system will most likely impact both the Cars Land and the upcoming Villains Land. This permit approval could signal Disney’s ability to begin construction on one or both projects. At the time of writing, Disney hasn’t revealed a specific opening date for either project although construction is expected to begin in mid to late 2025. Villains Land ©Disney The Cars expansion is replacing Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America to bring 2 new attractions! For the first attraction, guests are going to race through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as we dodge geysers and splash through mud holes. The second ride will be geared toward “smaller racers.” ©Disney The Villains Land will also be bringing two new attractions to the parks as well as new shopping and dining options as well! In regards to the new land, Disney has shared “Guests will be able to venture Beyond Big Thunder Mountain into an all-new land dedicated to Disney Villains. Inspired by the wicked characters fans know and loathe, the multi-acre expansion will include two major attractions, plus dining and shopping. Walt Disney Imagineering is pushing creative boundaries to dark and mysterious levels to bring this new, first-of-its-kind land to life.” ©Disney We can’t wait to see these lands come to life! 16. It’s still early 2025, but we’re still thinking about everything that’s happening throughout this year in Disney World because, y’all, it’s going to be A LOT. Magic Kingdom Three out of Disney World’s four parks are getting massive changes. We’ve got new lands coming to Magic Kingdom (PLUS a Frontierland expansion), Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new version of Test Track will be opening in EPCOT. A new nighttime parade will be coming to Magic Kingdom. Of course, with all this change, a lot of things will close this year. So there are a lot of things you’ll do in Disney World in 2025 for the last time. If you visit Disney World in 2025, make sure to do these things because, by the end of the year, they will be gone forever. See Tom Sawyer Island Tom Sawyer Island will be going away forever to make way for the Cars expansion that’s coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. So if this is a place you like hanging out at, you’ll want to get there for the last time before construction begins. We know a lot of folks with kids LOVE this space, so you’ll want to say goodbye before it’s gone. Tom Sawyer Island Disney has not yet confirmed when construction will begin, but permits have already been filed to begin work on the Cars expansion. The Complicated Reason We’re Not Sold on the New Cars Land at Magic Kingdom Ride Liberty Square Riverboat Rivers of America is also going away to make way for the Cars expansion in Magic Kingdom. That means the Liberty Square Riverboat will be permanently going out of commission, so you won’t be able to ride it once construction on the expansion starts. Liberty Square Riverboat Again, we don’t have a set date for the construction, but we expect this area to close sometime in 2025, so you’ll want to grab a ride on the Liberty Belle Riverboat one last time this year. Everything That Has to Permanently Close to Make Way for the ‘Cars’ Expansion in Disney World See It’s Tough To Be A Bug It’s Tough To Be A Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is set to close its doors forever on March 17th, 2025. If you are visiting Disney World before then, you’ll want to catch the show before it’s gone. This show, located inside the Tree of Life, will be replaced by a new Zootopia show. It’s Tough To Be A Bug Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is expected to open in winter 2025, so there is at least one thing you’ll be able to do for the first time in Disney World, too. Will These Closures Make Disney’s Animal Kingdom A Half Day Park? Ride Dinosaur Over in DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom, several rides and shops have already closed to make way for construction on a new land, Pueblo Esperanza. The good news is that Dinosaur is still open…for now. Dr. Grant Seeker will be unemployed soon Disney recently revealed that DinoLand, U.S.A. will have a phased closure while Disney builds the new land, and Dinosaur will be available throughout 2025 to ride. However, this will be the last year you’ll have a chance to “go get that dino.” 3 Game-Changing Updates Announced for Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2025 Eat at Restaurantosaurus Speaking of DinoLand, U.S.A., Restaurantosaurus will also be eventually closing to make way for Pueblo Esperanza. Now, this might not mean you’ll be dashing to Animal Kingdom to eat here one last time, but we will mourn for the loss of all the cool details you’ll find at this dining spot. Restaurantosaurus So even if you don’t want to have a burger or some chicken strips at Restaurantosaurus, take time to pop in and say goodbye. REVIEW: Sometimes, You Just Want a Simple, Easy Meal in Disney World. Restaurantosaurus Got You. See Muppet*Vision 3D Okay, this one HURTS. Muppet*Vision 3D in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close its doors forever on June 7th. Yes, the last Muppets project that Jim Henson worked on is closing (although Disney has promised that it’s trying to figure out how to carry on the legacy of the attraction). Muppet*Vision 3D All of Muppets Courtyard will be closing to make way for construction on a new Monsters, Inc. land — and we’re not okay. When Is Demolition Day at Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Ride the Aerosmith version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster There is some good news about the Muppets, though. They’ll still have an attraction in Hollywood Studios — the Muppets will be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster to replace Aerosmith. So if you love the Aerosmith version of the ride, you’ll want to go for a spin on it before it goes away forever. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster If you miss the last ride on that stretch limo, though, maybe the Muppets version of the ride will feature at least one Aerosmith song covered by Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. The Problem with the NEW Closure of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Eat at Mama Melrose’s and PizzeRizzo Yes, we’ve previously compared Mama Melrose’s to Olive Garden (and we have ZERO regrets because sometimes Olive Garden hits JUST SO), but we’re going to miss having a meal here from time to time when it also goes away to make way for the Monsters, Inc. land. Also, you know how we feel about PizzeRizzo…seriously, it’s a pizza joint owned by a rat, but still…nostalgia will have us miss it. PizzeRizzo So if you visit Disney World before May 10th, be sure to get that dining reservation for Mama Melrose’s. And pop into PizzeRizzo before June 7th, when it closes for good. Review: Order Anything BUT the Pizza at PizzeRizzo in Disney World You’ll want to head to Disney World this year if you want to catch a last ride or last meal at these spots. Soon, they’ll all only be a distant memory. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 17. Construction has once again struck one of Disney World’s most popular hotel pools! Pool closure Choosing the right Disney World hotel for your next trip can be one of the most exciting parts of planning your vacation. With so many things to see, do, and experience at the hotels, finding the right one that suits your style and budget can really help build some unexpected playtime into your memories. However, sometimes construction woes can hit even the best Disney World hotels and cause closures for longer than anticipated and we’re here to give you the breakdown on one of the latest. Everyone seems to have their list of the best Disney World hotels that fit their style and type of vacation they envision. That dream is made even more realized when you can pack in a really awesome feature pool into the mix too. But, recently one of Disney World’s most popular hotel pools has been problematic as of late. Stormalong Bay Disney’s Beach Club Resort’s feature pool, Stormalong Bay, unfortunately is no stranger to lengthy construction. We’ve known for a while that one of the “best” pools in all of Disney World’s hotels would be closing starting in January 2025. Originally, this closure was planned through May however, that was extended through June shortly afterwards. This new closure comes on the heels after 2 rounds of refurbishments in February and September 2024. Pool construction This was especially important to note since many Disney World vacationers plan their vacations months and even years in advance of their visit, leaving some to plan on staying at other hotels. Now that we’re in the throws of that early leg of the closure, we recently stopped by the hotel to have a look around and see what was being worked on currently. Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club As you walk up to the pool’s entrance gates, you’ll see signs posted that Stormalong Bay is currently closed and advising swimming elsewhere. Stormalong Bay closure sign As we walked around we could see what looked like refurbishment taking place on the pool deck concrete… Concrete work …as well as moving some of the sand around the beach area. Sand With this extended construction, Shipwreck Pool, which is geared more for little ones, is also closed. It seems like there’s quite a bit of action happening around the pool area leading us to believe this refurbishment and construction could truly warrant its full extent of expected time closed. 18. We are always on a mission seeking out NEW food in Disney World — which is why we keep a close eye on Disney World restaurant menus. El Mercado de Coronado So when we noticed some new menu items pop up at El Mercado de Coronado, the quick-service dining spot at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, we were intrigued. So we’re diving into some food there and bringing you along for the ride. Of course, we’re doing this for science, too, so we can get you an honest review. So let’s go! Atmosphere First thing that we can note about El Mercado de Coronado is that this restaurant is not actually owned by Disney. Instead, it’s owned by the Palmas Group, which is the same group that owns the restaurants in the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT. As far as we know, this is the only quick-service restaurant in a hotel that isn’t owned by Disney. You’ll walk past an iron grate to go inside. Walk past the grate El Mercado de Coronado features high ceilings, LOADS of windows, and colorful decor that fits in well with the whole Coronado Springs Spanish-inspired vibes. Basically, it’s meant to look like a Spanish market. Spanish Market vibes There’s also a ton of seating available, so finding a place to eat your meal or snack is NO problem. Both tables and chairs and booth seating are available. There are also a few high-top tables. Tons of seating available Inside you’ll find food stations featuring several Tex-Mex options, as well as classic quick-service menu items like pizza, burgers, pasta, and chicken strips. Food stations If you’re looking for something sweet, you’ll also find pastries and baked goods available. Pastries and baked goods Looking for drinks? You’ll find beverage stations in the middle of the open space. Beverage station Just beyond the dining area is a space for grab and go items. Grab and go area Okay, let’s talk about the food. Menu The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you’re looking for a resort refillable mug, this is where you would pick it up (and get your refills). The lunch and dinner menu includes a variety of sandwiches and sides. ©Disney You can also get a customizable bowl, as well as some Tex-Mex entrees. ©Disney But you don’t want to miss out on the King Knot Pretzels, because YUM. ©Disney There are also a HUGE variety of pastas to choose from, but note that these pastas rotate out daily, so some of these might not be available when you visit. ©Disney There’s also a Kid’s menu, as well as a Grab and Go menu. ©Disney Finally, there’s a huge variety of snacks, desserts, and pastries. ©Disney It’s important to note, though, that the restaurant serves a more limited menu between 2 and 5 PM. Eats We started with a hearty sandwich, the Tripleta Sandwich for $18. It’s a Pressed Sandwich with Chicken, Pork and Ham, Mayo Ketchup, Lettuce, and Tomato finished with crispy potato sticks served on a sweet and soft Medianoche hoagie roll and served with a choice of a side (we opted for fries). Tripleta Sandwich Okay, first we’re just going to tell you that this was UH-MAZING. It is a bit on the sweet side with the bun, but that worked well with the savory elements. We also loved the crunch of the potato sticks. This is a smaller sandwich, though, especially for the price, but it’s good for a lighter meal. The fries are those classic Disney fries and they do add substance to the meal. SO flavorful Okay, y’all, the Pepperoni Pretzel is just…well, it’s mind-boggling. This is a freshly baked pretzel topped with garlic butter, mozzarella cheese, cupping pepperoni topped with parmesan parsley served with a side of marinara for $21. The pretzel itself is fluffy with a bit of crispiness on the outside. If you love pretzels, this is your dream come true. Pepperoni Pretzel The cheese topping on top is also good, although you know us…we want MORE cheese. The pepperoni has a nice light spice to it and adds a lot of great flavor. The marinara sauce is a herby and tomato sauce and goes really well with the pretzel. Is it unique? Well, maybe not. But is it big? YES. This could easily be shared. So fluffy and BIG We also had to try out some of that Pasta. Now, like we said, the pasta selection changes daily. We went with the Forager Pasta for $16, made with Cavatappi pasta tossed with four cheese sauce, freshly roasted mushrooms, and onions. Garnished with fresh parsley and grated parmesan cheese and served with a freshly baked garlic knot. Heads up — this was our favorite thing that we tried. We’ll say that this pasta is on par with what you’d find at table service Italian restaurants in Disney World. Forager Pasta The sauce is creamy and VERY cheesy. However, the pasta we got was radiatori and not cavatappi (not that it made a big difference). The mushrooms are cooked well and taste great, adding a bit of an earthy flavor. The garlic knot was fluffy and garlicky. It was a LITTLE on the dry side, but we still liked it. Pro tip: just use it to mop up that pasta sauce. This pasta surprised us How about something sweet? You gotta’ have dessert, right? So we tried out the Cronut for $6 and it was everything we wanted from a cronut. It’s layered and flaky and covered in a sweet glaze. Cronut It also wasn’t dry. Again, this isn’t a UNIQUE take on a dessert, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t tasty. Layered and flaky We also had to try the Flan for $7.50 to end our meal with a Latin flavor-inspired note. It’s got a great vanilla flavor and a beautiful creamy texture. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s the taste that matters, right? The consistency was thick, but it wasn’t super dense. Flan We also thought there was almost a toasted marshmallow flavor in there, too, which WE LOVED. SO creamy It’s probably big enough to share, but you might not want to…and we won’t judge you for that. Overall Y’all…this restaurant just HITS all the right notes, and we’re still wondering how a quick-service restaurant managed to give us table service feels with some of the food, especially with the pasta. We’re honestly a little shocked at just how good everything was. Even the flan was table service restaurant quality. We also loved the environment here, although we did visit in the middle of the afternoon — it was so chill and quiet. If we had any complaints, it’s that we would’ve liked to have seen even more Tex-Mex and Latin-inspired items on the menu. Pasta doesn’t exactly scream “Spanish,” but we’ll easily forgive this spot just because the pasta was so good. Nosh or Not Make your way over to El Mercado de Coronado if… You want a large variety of food. If you and your group can’t make up your mind on what to eat, the menu here is so varied that there is pretty much something to satisfy everyone. You want table service quality food at quick-service prices. If you’re looking for quality food, but don’t want to pay extra for a table service meal, the food here might fool you into thinking it’s from a table service spot. You’re staying at Coronado Springs. This goes without saying. If you’re staying at Coronado Springs, it makes sense to check out El Mercado de Coronado — you might be surprised at just how good it is. Skip El Mercado de Coronado if… You don’t want to trek to another hotel just for food. So, not everyone is going to make an extra trip to Coronado Springs just for a quick-service meal, and if that’s you, you should skip. You want a table service experience. The food here is table service quality, but most of the service here is self-service. So if you want a dining experience where you’re pampered a bit more, this isn’t it. You’re looking for more authentic food. Although some of the meals here are Latin-inspired, we wouldn’t say that anything here is truly authentic. You might just want to go ahead and make a reservation at Maya Grill instead. We’ve eaten at every Disney World restaurant and we’re constantly revisiting restaurants to get you updated reviews. 19. Is this the best Disney World news ever? Disney’s Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios is a favorite of ours thanks to the amazing rides, new shows, and tasty food in the park! Now it seems like the Disney theme park has gotten even better thanks to this one little hidden gem. Hollywood Studios is unmatched in our opinion! Galaxy’s Edge takes you to other worlds, Tower of Terror puts you right in the Twilight Zone, and Fantasmic gives us chills every single time. Somehow, this park just got even better thanks to Rosie’s All-American Cafe! Rosie’s All-American Cafe Rosie’s is a quick service on Sunset Boulevard that offers burgers, chicken tenders, and fries mainly. It’s classic theme park fare that is tasty but nothing to write home about. That’s why we were so surprised that this quick service is leveling up the park in a small, but mighty way! Full Spread from Rosie’s So what is Rosie’s doing that we’re so pumped about? They’re serving up Mr. Pibb! Pibb XTra, which was formerly known as Mr. Pibb, is a soda that is peppery, spicy cherry flavored, and is a fan favorite soda. Pibb Xtra is on the menu! At the time of writing, you can get Pibb Xtra at Rosie’s and Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Not only do they serve the soda, but you can even get a refill once you finish it! You don’t often find free refills in Disney World unless there is a Coke Refillable Machine available so our wallets were excited for this news. So refreshing! You can only get one refill though so sip slowly! Mr. Pibb is Coca-Cola’s version of Dr. Pepper which you can’t get inside the theme parks so we’re happy to see this alternative. If you’re really craving a Dr. Pepper, you’ll have to head over to the Swan and Dolphin which isn’t owned or operated by Disney. Dr. Pepper at the Swan and Dolphin! A huge thank you to @happiestcrewonearth for alerting us to this hidden gem in Hollywood Studios. This isn’t the only exciting news coming out of the movie-themed park though! Hollywood Studios also has two brand new shows coming to the park in 2025. First is The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a revamped version of the previous Little Mermaid show in Animation Courtyard. ©Disney The story will follow the classic Disney movie and will include “Kiss the Girl” which is a major change from the previous version. It’s expected to open in Summer 2025. The second show coming is Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After! ©Disney You will get to see the Disney Villains come to life as they tell their stories and explain how they have been misunderstood this entire time. It’s also expected to open in Summer 2025. We can’t wait to see these new shows come to life soon, but while we wait you can find us sipping on our ice cold, Pib Xtra! 20. It is no secret that Cast Members are part of the reason why Disney World is known as The Most Magical Place on Earth! Cast Members at 1900 Park Fare There are so many different roles that a Cast Member could receive, and one of them is working on the resort side. Disney World has over 25 resorts, which means there are a ton of hotel Cast Members to help assist you throughout your stay. Although Cast Members are always happy to help, hotel Cast Members wish they could tell you these five things, but they won’t because they are too nice. Let’s get into it! Your Resort Reservation Does Not Equal a Dining Reservation Although being a guest of a Disney World resort grants you many perks, such as free transportation, Early Theme Park Entry, a complimentary water park visit on your check-in day, and advance Lightning Lane booking, it does not give you an all-access pass to the resort. ‘Ohana In order to dine at your hotel’s restaurants, you should still plan on making Advance Dining Reservations. Some hotels have super popular dining experiences like character meals, and walk-ups can not always be accommodated. Although Cast Members want you to be able to enjoy all parts of your stay at your hotel, it is ultimately up to you to make sure you make your dining reservations. Chef Mickey’s Not Every Cast Member Can Check You into Your Room Although Cast Members are trained to help you answer questions about your stay, not every Cast Member is able to help you with every aspect of your stay. For example, one of our former Cast Members on our team shared that guests would often walk up to the host stand of the hotel restaurant and ask to be checked into their room. Port Orleans — French Quarter Just because a Cast Member is standing near a computer, it does not mean that the computer or Cast Member has access to check you into your room. Regardless, they will be more than happy to walk you and direct you to the nearest Cast Member who can help. Room number Resort Cast Members Rarely Communicate with Park Cast Members It can be frustrating to leave the parks to go to a dining reservation when bad weather closes attractions. It may be tempting to ask a resort Cast Member when attractions, transportation, or even entertainment will be up and running again. Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom In all honesty, resort Cast Members rarely get the latest updates on what is happening in the parks. However, they will try to give you the best answer; they are pretty much in the dark, just like the person asking the question. EPCOT Cast Members Asking for a Magical Moment Will Not Get You a Magical Moment From time to time, Cast Members have the opportunity to grant a Magical Moment. This could be something small like giving you an extra treat with your Mobile Order or even sending a gift to your room. Cast Members love to celebrate YOU! Cast Members at resorts have an opportunity to make quite a few Magical Moments as they have a greater chance to complete a Magical Moment as a guest returns to their resort every night. In contrast, a Cast Member in the parks may only have a few moments with a guest. A former Cast Member on our team shared that she got to celebrate guests’ engagements and birthdays by going to the resort gift shop and getting them a gift. While it is fun for Cast Members to create magic like this, asking for a Magical Moment takes away the fun. Plus, a Cast Member needs to run a Magical Moment by leadership first, so it is not always up to the actual Cast Member to decide whether they can purchase something or not. Moana Mercantile They Don’t Know When Your Luggage Will Arrive Checking your luggage at bell services before check-in or after check-out is a great way to explore the parks without having to worry about your luggage. Oftentimes, bell services can get backed up when rooms start to be ready, as many people want their belongings delivered at the same time. Bell Services at Disney’s Polynesian Resort The only Cast Members who really know the delivery order are bell services Cast Members, so unfortunately, asking a merchandise or restaurant Cast Member when you can expect your luggage is not going to get you the most accurate answer. ©TouringPlans.com The moral of the story is that just because a Cast Member works at a resort, they do not have the capabilities to do all the jobs at the resort. 21. We are genuinely obsessed with Disneyland! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland There’s something about the original Disney theme park. Being chosen for the first rider signature book! If you have no idea what we’re talking about, don’t worry! We’re giving you all of the secret details right here. Thanks to the love on social media, this has become the ultimate rope drop goal for many Disney fans. If you’re new to the Disney language, rope dropping is when you get to the parks before they open so you can avoid long lines later in the day. To compete for the coveted spot of first rider, you’re going to want to rope drop! Rope drop crowds! The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is in Bayou Country, formerly known as Critter Country, so if you’re attempting for that special spot in line, you’re going to want to book it there! (Remember, don’t run in the Disney parks! It’s against the rules!) It varies from day to day depending on the Cast Members if the book is available and if only the first person or first group in line gets to sign the book. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland On our rope drop morning, we weren’t quite the first in line but we did get to see the book signed which was also really cool! Even if you don’t get to sign the book, you still get to hop on the attraction which takes you through the Hundred Acer Wood to Pooh’s birthday celebrations. signing the book! After we hopped on the ride, we chatted with guest relations to learn more about this special Disneyland activity. According to the Cast Members, this isn’t a Disneyland management-made tradition. Cast Members at this attraction took it upon themselves to start their own tradition at the ride which we think is super cool. The outside of the attraction! There is no official list of other attractions that also might have special and unique opportunities like this one. This is another one of those little things that we love in Disneyland and helps set it apart. This is also a great reminder that the Cast Members truly bring the magic to the Disney theme parks. 22. Disney World’s pay-to-skip-the-line system has seen many changes over the last few years. Dumbo Lightning Lane While the service’s names and rules have changed, it still is a tool to help you get through attraction and ride queues faster so you can enjoy more during your park day. 2025 is a year of big change at Disney World, which is why choosing to purchase Lightning Lane this year will be especially beneficial. Lightning Lane, which was previously Genie+ which was previously FastPass+, is a paid-for service to help you skip the line at Disney World. There are three versions of Lighting Lane. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is similar to Genie+, except it can be purchased in advance, and rides are now broken up into tiers (sound familiar to FastPass+?). Next up is Lighting Lane Single Pass, which is the same offering as Individual Lighting Lane, just with a new name. Finally, the newest Lighting Lane offering is Premier Pass. This pass allows you entry to every single Lightning Lane in a park, one time each, for a pricey flat fee. Lightning Lane We know these Lightning Lane changes and types can be confusing, and we have plenty of resources on our site and YouTube channel to help you navigate how to use this system! If you are visiting Disney World this year, Lightning Lane could be a must-get if you want to do the most during your visit to the park. I’ve Tried Every Lightning Lane Hack in Disney World and I’m Sharing the 2 That Work Every Time So many rides and attractions are closing in 2025 As expected, 2025 is the year of both temporary and permanent closures. While some attractions are just closed for refurbishment, this still limits the amount of offerings available to park attendees. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for a lengthy refurbishment Rides and lands are also permanently closing, and the closures have already started, as the first phase of closure of DinoLand, U.S.A., has already taken place. As these closures continue throughout the year, there will be less and less space for people to enjoy, which can lead to more crowded areas and longer lines. By purchasing Lightning Lane, you can wait in a shorter line compared to the potentially even longer than standard stand-by line. Parts of DinoLand are now closed This could be your last year to experience an attraction As we mentioned, there are many planned closures for this year and beyond. While Disney has not announced a closing date for DINOSAUR or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, 2025 could potentially be the last year to enjoy these rides. DINOSAUR Both of these rides are offered through Lightning Lane and are pretty popular, so purchasing Lightning Lane is a good idea if you want to experience them before they close and not wait as long. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Lightning Lane can allow you to enjoy more parts of the park Not every ride or attraction has a Lightning Lane line, and that is actually a good thing! By knocking out popular attractions via Lightning Lane, it could give you more time to explore other parts of the park. Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat are set to close We have been mentioning closures throughout this post, and Lightning Lane could help you get more time to experience Tom Sawyer Island, The Liberty Sqaure Riverboat, Muppets Courtyard, and the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. before they all eventually close. Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios Hotel guests get a Lightning Lane advantage There are many perks of being a guest at a Disney World hotel. One of the newest perks debuted when the new Lightning Lane system went into effect last July. Lightning Lanes can now be booked in advance. Those who are not staying at a Disney World hotel and other select hotels can book three days in advance, whereas hotel guests can book seven days in advance! Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane This is a huge perk that allows you to get first pick at Lightning Lane selections. Since 2025 is gearing up to be a big year of change at Disney World, purchasing Lightning Lane can be a smart idea if you are staying at a Disney World hotel. This will allow you to beat the crowds and take advantage of your hotel perks. 23. It’s not every day you see a celebrity in Disney World, but when it is, WOW is it special! Disney Springs We keep our eyes peeled for them all the time, because you never know when there might be special filming happening in the parks, or they’re just visiting with their family/friends to have a great time. With the recent release of Captain America: Brave New World, we expected the theater in Disney Springs to be pretty packed with fans seeing the film, but we didn’t expect Captain America himself to show up! It’s just been announced that Captain America: Brave New World soared to bring in over $100 million at the national box office during opening weekend alone, and $192.4 million globally. The budget of the film as a whole was $180 million, according to AP News, so that means in just three days, they’ve broken even, which is especially impressive considering the film received very low critic scores — however, the majority of audience members appear to be loving it. ©Marvel Looking for more recent Marvel news?
