Disney World parades aren’t necessarily hard to come by, but every once in a while an ultra-rare parade happens that we can’t wait to see. Port Orleans French Quarter And, the best part is that you don’t even need a park ticket for this parade! That’s right — the Port Orleans Mardi Gras Parade is BACK and it’s better than ever this year. Check out all the incredible floats right here! We love seeing this annual golf cart parade! The golf carts are decorated by Disney World Cast Members, who then parade the carts along the Sassagoula River from Port Orleans Riverside to Port Orleans French Quarter. It’s such a fun experience and everyone seemed to be having a great time! Mardi Gras Celebration 2025 The parade kicked off with Disney Ambassadors dancing to The Magical Music of Disney, which was this year’s theme! Different groups of Cast Members create intricate golf cart “floats” and they’re a treat to see. Disney Ambassadors We spotted this Mardi Gras themed float, which we felt was appropriate for the occasion. Mardi Gras float Next up, some of the Port Orleans Riverside office staff created this amazing Moana-themed “float,” complete with Pua leading the way… Moana …and how adorable is this Princess and the Frog-themed float?! We love the kissing frogs on the back. Princess and the Frog There was an incredible Coco float that was actually a golf cart pulling a float… There was a Coco float! …and of course, The Muppets featuring the Electric Mayhem were there too! The Cast Members did such a great job, and these were only some of the golf cart floats at this year’s parade. It’s a great time, if you can make it! THE MUPPETS! Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until Mardi Gras next year to see this parade, as it only happens once per year! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates from Disney World hotels and more. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! A new video on Disney’s social media channels has given a tiny teaser about the upcoming new version of Test Track. Test Track In early March 2025, the official Disney Imagineering Instagram account posted a short clip of a day in the life of a project engineer working on the on-going refurbishment of EPCOT’s Test Track. Over the course of the video, we see Carleigh working on site… @WaltDisneyImagineering Instagram … attending meetings… @WaltDisneyImagineering Instagram … and most interesting to us, giving quick peeks at what appears to be the attraction’s queue area… @WaltDisneyImagineering Instagram … and part of the ride, possibly the unloading area (though it’s tough to tell). @WaltDisneyImagineering Instagram Work began on this third incarnation of Test Track as soon as the previous version closed for refurbishment last June. According to Disney, the latest version of Test Track will “take inspiration” from World of Motion, the original EPCOT attraction that “took visitors on a time travel journey through the history of transportation” which Test Track replaced in the late 1990s. Furthermore, this reimagining will celebrate the “past, present, and future of automation.” ©Disney A new official Disney social media gives some insight into a day in the life of an Imagineer… and may give a sneak peek at the NEW Test Track! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disney World is currently closed and will be that way for at least a year. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently closed Yeah, we know. That’s a BIG bummer, especially if you’re visiting Disney World this year. However, this is the first big refurbishment that the Magic Kingdom ride has had in a while, so Disney obviously has big plans for updating it a bit. Now, we’ve already noticed quite a bit of work happening on the ride, and we even have a hint of when we think it might reopen in 2026, but what will have changed with the ride then? Well, it turns out the answer to that is…A LOT. Yes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is going to be VERY different when it reopens. Here’s how. Smoother track Okay, so it was no secret that riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was a bit rough, enough to help some people pass kidney stones. OUCH. Well, we’ve already seen that Disney is removing the track, which means that track will be getting replaced with something that’s probably new. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s new track will be smoother Disney has even filed a permit for work by Coastal Steel, a company that has experience constructing the steel for roller coaster tracks, suggesting that this is likely the case. So when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens, it will probably feel a lot smoother. The PROBLEM with the Year-Long Closure of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom A new view The roller coaster will also have a new view because a lot of Frontierland and BEHIND the coaster is changing. First, a Cars expansion is replacing Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, so Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will have a great view of that. ©Disney However, a new Villains land will be going BEHIND the ride, so when you ride it, you’re either going to get a changed view to hide the new land or you’re going to get to see the land from a unique perspective when you ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Why Disney Adults (Including Me) Keep Asking for Row 15 on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad New magic Disney has said that “the attraction will reopen with a little bit of new magic.” We have no idea what that means, but it could mean that Disney has plans to add new effects, lighting, and enhancements. Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland What we’re hoping for is that Disney adds the cool projection effects you can see in the Disneyland version of the ride. But we won’t know for sure until something is announced. No One Knows This Secret About Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom So the truth is we don’t know about EVERYTHING that will be different about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad when it reopens in 2026, but we do know that it will be different, nonetheless. We’ll be keeping an eye out for announcements about the ride from Disney, so until then, stay tuned to DFB for more. Drinking around the world can be a great way to get a taste of each country in the World Showcase in EPCOT! EPCOT When you drink around the world, you make a stop in each country for a drink, that’s 11 drinks if you’re counting. If you’re looking to take this challenge on, there are a few things NOT to do. Drink More Than Just Your Alcoholic Beverages You want to make sure you’re drinking water and staying hydrated while taking on this challenge. It can get HOT here in Disney World so when you mix the heat, the humidity, and a bunch of alcohol, you might start regretting your choices. Be sure you’re grabbing some of that FREE water from the quick service locations along the way. Avocado Margarita Everywhere You Can Find Free Water in Disney World Sharing is in Fact Caring… For Your Body Don’t underestimate these Disney drinks. They can pack a punch with the alcohol content, so don’t shut down the idea of sharing your drinks. Not only will your body thank you, but you can also try more options if there’s a large group of you to share with. This is a good idea when it comes to drink flights that can be found at EPCOT festivals. 2024 Mimosa Flight A Guide to Every Festival in EPCOT Do Not Ride After 3 PM Alright, so not literally 3 PM, but we do not recommend going on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind after drinking around the world… I’m sure those Cast Members over at Cosmic Rewind would agree. If you have not ridden this incredible attraction yet, it spins you and can be known to disorient you even while you are sober. If you are setting your eyes on the drinking challenge, try to grab a Single Pass for the ride early in the day BEFORE your beverages or you can rope drop it! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Don’t Forget to Snack Around the World While drinking around the countries is fun, don’t forget to snack around the world too. This will give you energy for your challenge. It will also help your body process the alcohol. I mean, do we really need to convince you to try delicious food? Grab that huge pretzel in Germany or something fun from a festival booth. Block and Hans Here’s Our Ultimate Guide to the Best Snacks at EPCOT Make a Plan It’s a good idea to research which drinks you’ll want to try at each stop. This will also help you plan how much to spend on your quest. Researching ahead of time can also save you from spending money on a drink you won’t like. If you are heading to EPCOT during a festival, don’t forget to check out our festival guides and videos where we tell you what is a must-try and what’s a skip. Good news! Disney has officially filed another permit in Animal Kingdom — this time, for a new show opening at the Tree of Life. Tree of Life Grab your 3D glasses, and let’s see what’s up with Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Disney recently filed a new permit to “install set elements” for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! ©Disney Better Zoogether will replace It’s Tough to be a Bug! in The Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom at Disney World. The original show is planned to close on March 17th, 2025, so your last chance to see it is on March 16th. This new show “will take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film,” and guests will see Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and more! Nick Wilde at Disneyland It’s Tough to be a Bug! wasn’t part of most people’s perfect day at Animal Kingdom and was a bit terrifying for lots of kids. From giant spiders coming from the ceiling to being poked in the back by a hornet, the show might have taken the idea of showing people what it’s like to be a bug a little too far. It’s Tough to Be a Bug In terms of the permit, Disney hasn’t given us too much of a look inside, but we can see from the concept art that Officer Benjamin Clawhauser’s animatronic will be to the right, where Hopper used to sit! Flick also used to pop out of the ceiling in the original show, so we can assume they’ll change Flick to a Zootopia character. ©Disney This permit was filed on March 3rd, so it seems like Disney is ready to get the ball rolling and change out It’s Tough to be a Bug! Disney World is home to several different hotels — each with its own set of pros and cons. Ask us to choose our favorite, and our answer will probably be different every time. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge But, there’s one hotel that tends to stand out among the rest — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. On most days, we’d probably say that Animal Kingdom Lodge is our favorite because of the impeccable dining, incredible theming, and oh yeah — the actual, real-life safari animals on the savanna. But, this hotel has two BIG issues. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a Deluxe Resort — which isn’t unique, but it’s the only Disney hotel where you’re going to find a FULL savanna with over 30 different species of African wildlife, a Starlight Safari tour, hotel rooms with savanna views, and incredible restaurants specializing in African cuisine. Animal Kingdom Lodge We’d recommend it to ANYONE in a heartbeat… BUT, if you’ve never stayed at this hotel before, we do need to warn you about this hotel’s transportation pitfalls. Animal Kingdom Lodge Animal Kingdom Lodge is extremely spaced out, which means you have to deal with the hotel’s internal bus loop. Essentially, at large Disney World hotels, the bus makes multiple stops throughout the resort property before leaving to go to a park. It circles the resort to pick guests up from different bus stops, instead of one centralized location. This can be a big time suck that can eat up a good chunk of time. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Not only that, but Animal Kingdom Lodge is the only Deluxe Resort in Disney World that strictly uses buses to get around. You don’t have the option of using any walking paths, monorails, boats, or the Skyliner. You’ll be paying a Deluxe hotel price but you’ll have less proximity to the theme parks than you would with other Deluxe resorts. Uzima Pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge But, if you’re planning on spending a good amount of time at Animal Kingdom, then this hotel absolutely makes sense for you. It’s fairly close to the park (shocking, we know) so if Animal Kingdom is where you plan on spending the most time (or you just really like Animals), this could still be the hotel for you. It can also be a great option if you’re driving your own car and want to utilize that instead of Disney transportation as well. Animal Kingdom Lodge No matter what resort you choose, just remember to look and see where it’s located inside the Disney bubble BEFORE you book it. That way, you’ll know where it’s situated in the midst of everything else on property. Okapi at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Hold up for a sec! Remember when Walt Disney Animation Studios announced a long-form TV show based on our beloved The Princess and the Frog? Tiana Topiary This is not the update we wanted to give on the show that was slated to stream on Disney+. The show Tiana has officially been canceled, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Originally announced in 2020, this show was supposed to be a “long-form musical comedy,” but Disney has since decided to pull back from making original long-form content for streaming. The company is focusing more on theatrical movie releases and later placing the movies on streaming. ©Disney Concept Art The show was planned to take place after The Princess and the Frog and have Anika Noni Rose reprising her role as Tiana. It would have followed the princess as she “sets off for a grand adventure as the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia, but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind.” Anika Noni Rose ©Disney While we’re very disappointed this Tiana show isn’t going to be created, is there still a chance we’ll get a sequel after The Princess and the Frog, which came out in 2009? The sequel to Moana was originally supposed to be a TV series under the name Moana, which was also announced in 2020. This idea was later transformed into Moana 2, which was released in theaters in November 2024. The movie made more than 1 billion dollars at the box office and will be streaming on Disney+ on March 12th. Moana in her Moana 2 outfit Inside Out 2, which came out this past summer, earned 192 million dollars at the worldwide box office nine years after the original movie. We even got Dream Productions, a limited series based in the Inside Out universe, which streamed directly to Disney+. Anxiety and Joy Disney has shown a lot of love to The Princess and the Frog after retheming Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in both Disneyland and Disney World. Tiana was also the icon of the runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend in 2024, and Ray was on the most recent Annual Passholder magnet. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We’re not sure what Disney’s plans are with Princess Tiana, but keep following the Disney Food Blog to stay up to date on everything we know. There are few things we love in this world more than Disney — but bread and cheese are definitely high on the list. Woody’s Lunch Box SO, when we get to combine these three loves together and eat bread and cheese while we’re actually at Disney World, well, those are some of our favorite days. We recently stopped by a fan-favorite Disney’s Hollywood Studios restaurant to see if it still held up, and we’re sharing our thoughts in this review! We stopped by Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios over in Toy Story Land to pick up the Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich for $10.99. It’s made with melted provolone, cheddar, and American cheese on grilled sourdough bread. You get a choice of sides, and we went with the Tomato Basil Soup dipper! Grilled Three Cheese Sandwich and Tomato Soup We must say that spending $11 on a grilled cheese sandwich was slightly painful at first, but this cheese was AMAZING. The combination of the melty cheddar and American cheeses with the sharper provolone was so good, and we were getting some garlicky vibes this time around as well. SO cheesy We were also huge fans of the tomato basil soup dipper on the side. It wasn’t too sweet or too acidic — just the perfect combination of rich tomatoes and basil. Our only complaint here is that we wish it came with a bit more soup! Good soup Having the two together — the grilled cheese dipped into the soup — feels like a really nice grown-up grilled cheese sandwich, and the portions are pretty nice for the price. This is an especially great option for picky eaters or those who have other bugaboos when it comes to food! A delicious combo! Disney World hotels come with a whole lot of perks — including free parking for guests. Disney’s Riviera Resort This is also true if you’ve got an Advance Dining Reservation for one of the many restaurants at the hotels. And, while Disney welcomes anyone to their hotels, whether they’re staying there or not, that doesn’t mean that just anyone can pull up and park at them. In fact, there are some Disney World hotels that will ALWAYS crack down on the parking rules — no matter what. Disney World hotel parking is reserved for those with hotel and dining reservations, which means that in most cases, unless you’ve got one of these reservations — you likely won’t be able to park at a hotel. You may find that certain hotels are a bit more lax with the rules and may allow you to park there just to visit or grab something to eat from a quick-service restaurant, but there are some hotels that will almost always crack down on those parking rules! Monorail Resorts Disney’s monorail resorts include those that are along the monorail line — including the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary. These resorts are incredibly close to Magic Kingdom — like, within walking distance, so you can probably see why people would want to try and park here to skirt the rules. But, we definitely don’t recommend doing that. Disney’s Contemporary Resort The parking attendants who work at these hotels weren’t born yesterday, and because of this, you’ll find yourself having a harder time trying to park here if you don’t have a hotel or dining reservation. If you do want to explore these hotels without staying at them, you can make a dining reservation at one of the restaurants and THEN take the monorail or walk to another hotel if you want to check it out. Kiss, Marry, Kill: Magic Kingdom Monorail Hotels EPCOT Area Resorts The EPCOT area resorts — Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Beach Club, and the BoardWalk Inn — have a similar situation. They’re in the EPCOT area (duh) and because of this, they’re close to not one, but two parks with Hollywood Studios not too far away either. The BoardWalk is home to some seriously stellar dining, but unless you’ve got a reservation for one of the table service restaurants, you might have a hard time parking there. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The same is true for the Yacht & Beach Club. Both hotels are within walking distance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and they also offer boat transportation. Folks often try to game the system by attempting to park at the EPCOT hotels and trying to walk to the park — but it doesn’t have a solid history of working. This is especially true around the holiday season, when these hotels have incredible gingerbread displays! Which Disney World Resort Hotel is Best for YOU? Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Speaking of holidays, there are certain times of the year when parking at disneyfoodblog.com/disneys-fort-wilderness-restaurants/ is absolutely, positively, only for people staying there. You see, Fort Wilderness is home to some incredible golf cart parades for various holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and even the Fourth of July. They’ve gotten pretty popular over the years, but because of that, Disney has had to limit the spectators to people actually staying at Fort Wilderness during these times of year. Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho! Not only that, but the Disney World website mentions that The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort allow parking for one motorized vehicle per campsite. This means that if you’re bringing more than one vehicle to the campsite or you plan on renting a golf cart while you’re there, the remainder of your vehicles will need to be parked at the front of the resort, near the lobby. Learn More About Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Here Riviera Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest hotel to open at Disney World — and it’s utterly gorgeous. It’s also home to some incredible dining including Topolino’s Terrace — and it’s on Disney’s Skyliner. Just like the rest of the hotels on this list, you’ll likely have a hard time making it through the parking gate at this hotel if you’re not actually staying there. Disney’s Riviera Resort We know, we know, the Skyliner is legit, so we can see why so many people would want to park here and try to hitch a ride to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but unless you’ve got a dining reservation at Riviera or are staying there, parking here is a no-go. This has even been true in the past for one of our team members who is a DVC member with points at the Riviera Resort! Okay, it’s no secret that the Florida sun can be BRUTAL — it’s even brutal when it’s covered in clouds. Sunny Florida is not great for your skin Now, we’re always telling you how important it is to stay hydrated (and we always recommend keeping a water bottle with you while you’re in the parks). If you ask us, the best part about Disney Springs is the FOOD! There are so many incredible restaurants to explore in this shopping and dining district, and one of our favorites is celebrating Florida’s strawberry season with an exclusive event! Jaleo in Disney Springs Jaleo by Chef José Andrés is hosting the Festival de Fresas — or the Strawberry Festival — to put an emphasis on the sweet and versatile flavor of strawberries. Jaleo has partnered with a local farm, Southern Hill Farms, for the freshest strawberries in these unique dishes, and we’re bringing you with us to check it out! The Festival de Fresas at Jaleo is happening from now until March 16th, 2025. There are seven featured dishes on the menu — full of strawberry treats. We were invited to Jaleo to check out some of the items and we couldn’t wait to share with you! Festival de Fresas We kicked things off with the Texturas de Fresas for $16 — imagine a strawberry purée ball. This was SO fun! The membrane around the spheres popped easily, and a smooth, velvety juice rushed out. It was like having a delicious strawberry without having to chew. Texturas de Fresas Next up, we tried the Cono de Queso azul “Mamá Marisa” y fresas, which is available for $6. It’s a cone filled with Mamá Marisa Blue cheese mousse, strawberry marmalade, and toasted pistachios. This one was definitely strong on the cheese flavor, but we enjoyed the sweet and savory components that made up this dish. Cono de Queso Azul Mama Marisa y Fresas Then, we tried Coca de queso idiázabal y mermelada de fresas which normally costs $12. This is an olive oil and rosemary cracker with strawberry marmalade and grated idiazabal cheese. We LOVED the sweet and salty combination of this dish — the sweet jam and savory cheese reminded us of a Monte Cristo sandwich, though the sweet flavors are what stand out most here. Coca de Queso Idiazabal y Mermelada de Fresas Next up, we had the Gazpacho de fresas, which costs $11. It is a cold soup with strawberries, tomatoes, cucumber, and green bell pepper. This was SO fresh, and it was an excellent combination of sweet and savory. Gazpacho de Fresas The Pinchos de fresas, sandía y tomate is available for $10. This dish comes with strawberry, watermelon, and tomato skewers with sherry dressing. Each ingredient was fresh and complemented the other well. It was good, but it wasn’t a standout of the night. Pinchos de Fresas, Sandia, y Tomate Next, we had the Ensalada de fresas, tomate, aguacate y queso de cabra for $14. This salad consists of strawberries, tomatoes, avocado, goat cheese, and sherry dressing. This was an excellent salad. The fattiness of the avocado worked so well with the acidity of the strawberry and dressing. Ensalada de Fresas Last but not least, we tried the Fresas con nata for dessert, which cost $10. This is a traditional Spanish dessert of strawberries with cream. The strawberries in this dish have been peeled, which was a delicious surprise. The cream was soft and light, with a hint of orange liqueur. We thought each element worked well with the other and made for the perfect ending to the strawberry dishes! Fresas con Nata But, our dinner didn’t stop there! We also got to taste some of Jaleo’s other dishes, like the Croqueta de jamón “José’s Way.” This is a traditional fritter with a slice of Jamon Iberico de Bellota. They were crunchy, cheesy, and what dreams are made of. Croqueta de Jamon The Endivias con queso de cabra y naranjas features endives with goat cheese, oranges, and almonds. We’ve consistently loved this dish in the past, and this time was no different. Endivas con Queso Next, we had the Chuletas de Cordero which is Josper grilled “Lumina” New Zealand Lamb Chops with Rosemary Sauce and Honey Alioli. The meat was tender and earthy, and the sauces complemented the meat well. Chuletas de Cordero We also tried the Lubina a la Donostiarra — Whole Mediterranean Seabass cooked with traditional Basque sauce. This was the most delicate, garlicky, and delicious fish! Lubina a la Donostiarra To wrap everything up, we had the Pan con chocolate. It is Chocolate custard with caramelized bread, olive oil, and brioche ice cream. The textures and flavors here were so fun — and delicious to boot. Pan con Chocolate Make sure you stop by Jaleo during the Festival de Fresas to try some of these exciting dishes! We just heard from a Disney Imagineer regarding some of the work going into creating the new Tropical Americas-themed land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Disney’s Animal Kingdom This new land in Animal Kingdom will be called Pueblo Esperanza and is expected to open in 2027. Construction is already in progress as the first phase of closures began in DinoLand, U.S.A., on January 13th, 2025. The Maya archaeological conference was called Maya at the Mouse. The team leader also explained the symbols they intended to include. ©Joe Rohde on Instagram Numerous other presenters, including Joe Rohde, presented on topics such as cross-disciplinary collaboration, the richness of pre-Columbian agriculture, the plight of the modern Maya, the art direction involved in creating an archaeological site that tourists can visit, and much more. ©Joe Rohde on Instagram It is fantastic to see a bit of the behind-the-scenes work the team working on Pueblo Esperanza is doing to ensure the land accurately presents the Tropical Americas. After Hours events have returned to Disney World for 2025 and we couldn’t be more excited! ©Zach Riddley At EPCOT, After Hours is BACK for select nights from February 27th through September 25th, 2025, and we were at the first event of the year. The capacity for these events is limited so folks have easy access to select park attractions — like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And, if you’re looking to ride this attraction during After Hours, this is the BEST time to do it. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is easily the most popular ride at EPCOT right now, and it’s easy to see why! The attraction recently switched from using a virtual queue to a standby line –which has garnered some seriously long waits — but it’s always been a standby line during EPCOT After Hours. And, if you’re hoping to ride Cosmic Rewind during After Hours at EPCOT, you’re gonna want to keep reading! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind during After Hours Here’s the thing — EPCOT After Hours runs from 10 PM until 1 AM, but folks with tickets can enter the parks as early as 7 PM. When we attended the February 27th event, Cosmic Rewind had a 65-minute wait during the first hour or so. But, things quickly changed, because by 11:50 PM we noticed the wait on the My Disney Experience app had dropped to just 35 minutes. We decided to test it out, and we found that the wait time was spot on! Cosmic Rewind wait during After Hours Even later during After Hours, though, right around the time the event was ending at 1 AM, we headed over to Cosmic Rewind and there was NO wait — we walked right up to where the pre-show started! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind And, if you’re not planning on going to After Hours, keep in mind that you can take advantage of things like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours depending on what Disney hotel you’re staying at. These offerings allow hotel guests to get a little extra time in the parks before everyone else gets there, and they can make a huge difference when it comes to wait times! Our top tips for avoiding long lines without spending any extra money are to rope drop the parks (get there right when — or before — they open), get in line during meal times or parades and fireworks, or wait until people start leaving for the night! Disney World has SO many different hotels you can stay at on your trip, but if you’re looking for a place you can stay on a budget, you’ll likely choose a Value Resort. Disney’s Pop Century Resort Value Resorts are some of the largest Disney World hotels and are located furthest from the parks, but complimentary transportation is available to get you where you need to go, just like with all other Disney World hotels. One of our personal favorites is Pop Century Resort, especially thanks to its access to the Skyliner. But if we’re being honest, you REALLY need to avoid it this year. Disney announced back in November 2024 that Pop Century Resort would be undergoing room refurbishments throughout the majority of 2025. However, a permit was then filed in January 2025 that indicates that this construction could begin sometime in late March 2025 and could continue all the way through August 2026! Pop Century Hotel So what does it mean when rooms undergo refurbishment at a Disney World hotel? Well, it doesn’t mean the hotel as a whole is unavailable, so there’s no need to stress about that, but it does mean that parts of the hotel will look different than the beautiful photos you’ve seen online. Disney will potentially need to bring in machinery and construction work will be happening. Pop Century Resort Ultimately, we don’t know what this refurbishment could look like or how much it’ll disrupt the look of the parts of the hotel being worked on, but we do know that sections of rooms will be closed while work is done on them. This means that it’s possible the hotel could be more crowded than usual, as Disney will need to pack guests in a little closer to each other to accommodate for the closed rooms. This may lead to parts of the hotel feeling more crowded, particularly around rope drop and park closing times, especially if you’re using complimentary Disney World transportation to get to where you’re going! Pop Century Additionally, any refurbishment in Disney World is loud, at least at some points of the day. Disney keeps this construction strictly to the daytime hours as to not disturb guests in the early morning or later at night when they’re trying to sleep…but that means it’s NOT ideal for those traveling with kids or other guests who need to nap during the day. You can send a request for Disney to place you in a room far away from the construction for this reason, but it’s never guaranteed to be accommodated. For this reason, if this daytime construction noise could be an issue for you, we don’t recommend staying at Pop Century for the time being.
