  1. It is Halloween time in Disney World! The Mickey pumpkins are up, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially begun! We are here at the opening night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and we are bringing you along with us. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party We are experiencing EVERYTHING this party has to offer, and, of course, that also means eating lots and lots of food! Each year, the party features some exclusive themed treats, and we are giving them all a try, so you know what treats are must-gets and which ones are must-skips at this year’s party. We are SUPER excited for this exclusive treat! As you may know, we are huge fans of the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom — especially those Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, yum! Well, this year the cart is offering a special spring roll for the party, and we can’t wait. Spring Roll Cart May we introduce to you: the Spicy Pork Spring Roll served with pineapple mustard. While the Spicy Pork Spring Roll is returning from last year, the pineapple mustard is new to the dish. Additionally, last year, the Spicy Pork Spring Roll was available at Friar’s Nook, but this year it is at the Spring Roll Cart. Menu You can grab the Spicy Pork Spring Roll for $9.50. We really enjoyed this specialty treat last year, but how does it compare this year? The spicy pork filling delivers just the right amount of heat, with peppery undertones and a spice mix that is reminiscent of chorizo. The addition of diced pineapple and pineapple mustard adds a delightful sweetness that complements the savory meat perfectly, creating a flavor profile that’s both unique and satisfying. Each bite offers a chewy, well-cooked texture without being overdone, making the spring roll a joy to eat from start to finish. Spicy Pork Spring Rolls Beyond the flavor, the spring roll also delivers an impressive crunch. While it can leave your fingers a bit greasy, the taste more than makes up for it. Whether you’re a devoted spring roll fan or someone who hasn’t been drawn to them before, this creative combination of spicy pork and pineapple is worth trying. The Spicy Pork Spring Roll is a standout snack that’s perfectly balanced, fun to eat, and full of flavor that’s both bold and approachable. Spicy, but delicious! This Spicy Pork Spring Roll is ONLY available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so you will need a party ticket to grab this snack. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party happens on select nights from August 15th through October 31st. 2. Happy Halloween! Yes, Halloween has officially kicked off in Disney World, and we’re live at the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom. Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine Now, we LOVE this party because there’s just so much to do, but more importantly, there’s so much to EAT. Disney drops a ton of exclusive drinks and snacks at the party, and we’re on a mission to try them all. Our first stop is at Golden Oak Outpost, where we’re enjoying three party-exclusive menu items. Let’s BOO this! Now, the snacks at Golden Oak Outpost have really been channeling Louisiana-inspired fare recently, and these Mickey’s Not-So-Scary exclusive menu items are kicking that up a notch. Golden Oak Outpost So let’s start with the Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine, which features Waffle fries topped with Cajun-inspired crawfish, andouille sausage gravy, and cheese curds for $13.49. We have to ask the most important question, though…would Mama Odie approve? Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine This special Halloween Party offering doesn’t exactly scream Halloween from its appearance, but it is LOADED UP in a really hefty portion size that left us impressed. The waffle fries offer a solid amount of surface area, and we feel that makes them the perfect choice for this dish. They were nicely seasoned and absolutely loaded up. This is one hearty snack! There’s a lot of crawfish with this snack, and if you don’t like the texture and taste of crawfish, you’ll be especially turned off since you get so much of it. With that said, the gravy had a nice heat and a shockingly good andouille flavor, and the big cheese curds really tie this shareable snack together. Overall, we really enjoyed it and think this would be an ideal dish to share! This is definitely shareable! Next up are the Beignets from Beyond, summoned up by Haunted Mansion’s Madame Leota herself. These are beignets with powdered sugar and chocolate cookie crumbs served with cookies and cream cheese dipping sauce for $8.79. These are a lot like the Ghoulish Beignets we LOVED at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter (except these aren’t shaped like Mickey). So how do they compare? Beignets from Beyond Unfortunately, these didn’t do it for us. This treat looks fun and Halloween-y, but ours weren’t very fluffy and came off more like shells of dough. They look fun The texture was just too unsatisfying, and the dip kind of tasted cheap and store-bought. We’re not the biggest fans of regular Magic Kingdom beignets, but those are cheaper at least. Maybe stick with the Ghoulish Beignets at Port Orleans – French Quarter… Way too hollow Finally, we washed these snacks down with Hot Honey Lemonade, which is Minute Maid Premium Lemonade with hot honey and a chili-lime rim for $6.29. Yep, Disney is still running with the whole hot honey trend, even with its drinks. So does it work as a lemonade? Hot Honey Lemonade Surprisingly, this was our favorite special offering at Golden Oak Outpost! Putting Tajin on the edge of a lemonade remains legendary, and it went so well with the drink! The hot honey sank to the bottom pretty quickly, but they give you a straw with it so that you can still get that hot honey flavor. The honey itself wasn’t very hot, but you still get a distinct flavor that separates it from regular honey. Refreshing with a fun spicy kick, we’d definitely get this again! Love this! We’ll be covering all the food and drinks at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so be sure to follow along for more reviews! Stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 NEW RULES for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World IT'S SPOOK-TACULAR! 3. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back in Magic Kingdom! 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party The special ticket after-hours event signals the beginning of the spooky season in Disney World, and we are here with our costumes ON! At this party, you can expect to find tons of special characters, rare parades, exclusive entertainment, low crowds, and so many limited-time snacks. We’re headed over to Casey’s Corner to try some of those limited-time treats right now. When it comes to Halloween in Disney World, there are several things we love. The feeling of drinking an iced pumpkin chai on Main Street, U.S.A., the special decorations, and, of course, the limited-time food! During tonight’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, we’re testing out tons of new and exclusive items like the Candy Corn Verrine at Casey’s Corner. Now, normally, we go here for the hot dogs. But what about dessert? Casey’s Corner The Candy Corn Verrine will cost you $5.99 and is made with layers of salted caramel ganache, marshmallow panna cotta, and whipped cream topped with caramel corn and candy corn. It’s brand new in 2025, and you can only grab it during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You can see what Disney said it would look like below! ©Disney Well, it’s pretty darn close! It might be cute, but how does it taste? This dessert turned out to be a pleasant surprise, even for someone who isn’t a big candy corn fan. The bottom yellow layer is a rich salted caramel with just the right balance of sweetness and salt, making it the star of the dessert. Above it are two layers of panna cotta with a marshmallow-vanilla flavor and a thicker, jelly-like texture. Candy Corn Verrine The combination works surprisingly well with the caramel’s depth, pairing nicely with the light, creamy panna cotta. It’s finished with whipped cream, candy corn pieces, and caramel corn, giving it a festive, photo-ready look. While it’s not overly sweet, it still hits the spot if you’re craving dessert. It’s adorable! This isn’t a must-get for everyone, but if you enjoy panna cotta or want something seasonal that’s not sugar overload, it’s a pretty and well-balanced option. Yummmm! This dessert is just one of many new items that we’re trying during this year’s spooky season! In fact, there are over 45 limited-time eats coming to the park for this annual celebration. This year’s party features several changes, like Mickey and Minnie meeting together in Town Square Theater! Mickey at his very own 2024 Not-So-Scary Halloween Party You can also expect to find a more kid-friendly area in Storybook Circus because this area is getting a full makeover for the 2025 party. It will be transformed into a whimsical, family-friendly haunt, so think of bright colors, silly ghosts, low-key music, and age-appropriate decorations. Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle as the Sanderson Sisters Plus, there’s going to be a Zombies 4 Dance Party! These are just a few of the new changes coming to Not-So-Scary, and we are exploring the rest of the party throughout the night. 4. Happy Halloween! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially started in the Magic Kingdom, and we’re spilling all the details on how to make the most of your party night. Among the treats, entertainment, and characters, you might look past the rides while you have a limited time for your party. Here’s why that’s a mistake. The party map! While most attractions are available during regular park hours, some have special overlays that you won’t want to miss. These are only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so if you want to see them, make sure you prioritize them during the party. Three attractions will get a special overlay with a spooky twist! You can find them listed in the map guide! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map First is Space Mountain! Disney turns off all (and we mean ALL) the lights inside so you can’t see anything during the ride. Trust us, this definitely makes this relatively tame coaster SO much more intense. Halloween Lighting They’ll also change the music to a spooky soundtrack to add to the Halloween feeling. We don’t have any pictures from inside (for obvious reasons), but imagine being in the pitch black with lots of screaming while having the time of your life. This is a very popular attraction when it has overlays, so make sure you plan ahead of time to ride it. Ready to board! Next is the Mad Tea Party! The Mad Hatter must have a Halloween side because the lights around the tea cups change for the holiday. Mad Tea Party Because this is such a short ride, we usually don’t have any issues hopping in for a quick spin. If you enjoy the normal version but want a fun twist, make sure this is on your checklist. Mad Tea Party overlay in 2022! Lastly, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor makes Halloween-themed jokes! Laugh Floor has a Halloween makeover! While we do love Halloween jokes, we also love the air conditioning from the show. If you want a couple of minutes to sit inside and relax before continuing your party, we recommend stopping here. Special Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor There are also several rides open during the night that don’t have overlays. While we wouldn’t prioritize these, it’s great to know you can hop on your favorite attraction with potentially lower wait times. Adventureland Jungle Cruise The Magic Carpets of Aladdin Pirates of the Caribbean Swiss Family Treehouse Frontierland Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Liberty Square Haunted Mansion Fantasyland Prince Charming Regal Carrousel “it’s a small world” Peter Pan’s Flight The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Storybook Circus Dumbo the Flying Elephant The Barnstormer Tomorrowland Astro Orbiter Tomorrowland Speedway Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover TRON Lightcycle / Run Trick or Treat Bag Are you going to a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year? 5. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially kicked off at Magic Kingdom, and we’re here on the first night taking in all the sights, sounds, frights, and of course — foods. Howdy from Frontierland! We’re headed over to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to check out the exclusive eats they’re serving up during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Are they worth your time and money during this after-hours event? Let’s find out! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event. The event runs on select nights from August 15th through October 31st, 2025! If you ask us, the exclusive and limited-time eats are some of the BEST things about this party, so we headed to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to check out what’s cooking during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe First up, we grabbed the brand-new Buzzard Wings for $11.99. These are whole chicken wings tossed with grilled onions, jalapeños, and lime. These are only available during the party! Buzzard Wings These were INCREDIBLE! They pulled apart, practically fell off the bone, and the inside was cooked beautifully. However, our two complaints are that we would have liked the skin to be a little crispier, and we didn’t think the cilantro and onions worked super well on top, so we could have done without them. Otherwise, the glaze over top was nice and savory, and we loved that the jalapenos had their seeds, so it truly gave the dish a kick. We do think they’re a little overpriced, but if you want something spicy and savory at the party, this is a great option! Falling off the bone! For dessert, we grabbed the new Pumpkin Pie Mini Churros rolled in orange sugar and served with pumpkin pie dipping sauce. These are available for $6.49. Pumpkin Pie Mini Churros These churros taste like your normal, basic Disney World churros (although we do find the mini ones to almost always be better than the full size), and the sauce to dip them in really did taste like pumpkin frosting! We think these will be a good option for those looking to share a sweet treat, who love pumpkin, or just want something a little more friendly to picky eaters. Pumpkin to the max! We’ll be bringing you LIVE updates from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, so keep checking back here. 6. Are you not-so-scared right now? Because we are! Time for some fun! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has kicked off in Magic Kingdom, and we couldn’t be happier! The annual Halloween party is running on select nights from August 15th, 2025, until October 31st, 2025. We’re here on the first night to see the parade, check out the crowds, trick or treat, and, of course, test out new and returning snacks! There are over 45 snacks and treats this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We have our costumes on and our taste buds ready to try them, so you know what is and isn’t worth your money once it’s time for your party night to kick off. Over at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland, we’re putting two new items to the test. The Lunching Pad During the party, you grab the spooky Skull Cake! It costs $5.49 and is made with banana cake and filled with dulce de leche. While Disney says this is new, it does remind us of the Skull Brownie from the 2023 Not-So-Scary party. That said, how does it hold up? Skull Cake We thought this was a great treat! Originally, we thought it tasted more like an oatmeal cream pie, but when we really got into it, we tasted the sweet, familiar flavor of banana. The dulce de leche on the inside has a caramel consistency that’s wonderful, and there was an icing spread over the top that stayed put well. It’s very decadent overall, so if you’re a fan of banana, vanilla, and dulce de leche, definitely grab this treat. We were big fans! To wash it down, we grabbed the Ghoulish Blue Raspberry Slushy for $6.69! It’s made with a Fanta Blue Raspberry slushy and black vanilla drizzle. This one is also new, but you can grab it during the party and during regular park hours. If you enjoy root beer floats or anything with a frothy vanilla flavor, this will be a win for you! We loved how it kept the blue raspberry flavor but also reminded us of a classic float thanks to that vanilla flavor, and we’d gladly pick this up again over a regular blue raspberry slushy. Ghoulish Blue Raspberry Slushy These snacks are just the start of our party adventures as we continue to go through the first night of the party! 7. Halloween has crept its way into Disney World, and ever since, it’s been non-stop treat time. Trust me, I’m not complaining. I look forward to Disney’s holiday season every year because it means exclusive snacks that I can only get during the season, and that just makes the whole holiday feel even more special. Ursula Cone During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the treats are even MORE special because you can only have them during the after-hours event. We headed to try a special ice cream cone in Magic Kingdom, and let me just say, it was a treat! At Storybook Treats in Fantasyland, we tried the brand new Ursula Cone for $8.29. Ursula Cone at Storybook Treats This is a wild berry soft-serve with candy coral and citrus cotton candy in a black vanilla cone. It’s giving full sea witch vibes. Storybook Treats event menu The wild berry soft serve had a light blueberry and vanilla flavor with a creamy texture. The candy coral was crunchy and almost tasted like a caramel hard candy — and it was oh, so good, especially when dipped into the soft serve. Our citrus cotton candy shriveled up so quickly and melted into the ice cream, but it was still quite good with a tasty lemon flavor. The cone tastes like a normal cone — it just happens to be very black. Be sure to do a mirror check after this treat — it is MESSY. We loved this treat! Remember, this treat is only available during the Halloween party, and Storybook Treats is only open till 10 PM, so you’ll want to make this an earlier stop during your night. 9. If you’re planning a trip to Magic Kingdom this fall or winter, there’s an important schedule change you’ll want to be aware of. Magic Kingdom If you are staying at a Disney World Deluxe resort, you have access to some great perks. You are steps away from great restaurants, fun amenities, and even more time in the parks. Of course, all Disney World resort guests have Early Theme Park Entry 30 minutes before every park opens; however, Deluxe resort guests have access to Extended Evening Hours. Although that will change later this year at Magic Kingdom! Extended Evening Hours are a special Walt Disney World perk that lets eligible guests stay in select theme parks for an extra two hours after regular closing time. With fewer people in the park, it’s a great way to enjoy popular attractions with shorter waits. This benefit is available only to guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villas, and a few other select hotels, such as the Swan, Dolphin. Guests also need valid park admission. However, on certain nights, like when Magic Kingdom hosts special ticketed parties, this perk shifts to other parks. Spooky Space Mountain Magic Kingdom will NOT host Extended Evening hours on these nights of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 29 September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30 October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31 EVERYTHING We Know About the 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Magic Kingdom will NOT host Extended Evening Hours on these nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party: November: 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, 30 December: 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21 Everything That is Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2025 Once Upon a Christmastime Parade If you’re staying at a Deluxe Resort during party season, be sure to check the Walt Disney World park hours calendar to see which parks will be offering Extended Evening Hours on your visit dates so you can plan accordingly. 11. If you don’t map out the best trick-or-treat spots every Halloween, what are you doing? There’s only ONE time each year when it’s socially acceptable to accept free candy from strangers, so you might as well make the most of it and look for the people who hand out generous portions and splurge for the full-size candy bars, right? Trick or Treat Bag But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. We’re reporting LIVE from Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and we’re here to share EVERYTHING there is to experience so you know exactly what to expect during this after-hours event. There are tons of exclusive character meet-and-greets, the iconic Boo To You Parade, and, of course, FREE CANDY. Where can you go trick-or-treating in Magic Kingdom? Is it true that the FULL-SIZE candy is back this year? Let’s find out! Let’s start with the basics. You can A.) bring your own trick-or-treat bag to the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, or B.) pick up a free one as you enter the park. Once you’ve got your party wristband and a bag to hold your candy, all that’s left is to hit up those treat trails around the park. Look out for these big old signs — that’s where you enter the line for candy! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party This year, there are 15 candy stations according to the map, and you can see them all conveniently marked as TRICK-OR-TREAT LOCATIONS. Note that you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM, but these treat stations won’t become available until 7 PM, when the party officially starts. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map Most trick-or-treat locations hand out fun-size candy (Starburst, M&M’s, Snickers, Skittles, and more), but there is one important stop you should make as you enter the party. Over on Main Street, U.S.A., Cast Members have special candy just for the new event attendees! Last year, we got a bag of Peanut Butter M&M’s, and this year, we got Caramel M&M’s. Full Size! The good news is that once you’re in the park, you can hit up those treat spots as often as you want! LOAD UP ON FREE CANDY, PEOPLE. Just make sure to save some room in your luggage — all those fun-size candies can add up! Treat Bag Oh, and if you’ve got an allergy, don’t worry! Cast Members have special tokens at each trick-or-treat location, and you can redeem those tokens in a special location (usually on Main Street, U.S.A.) for allergy-friendly treats. Token Listen, we get it. There’s A LOT to experience at this party, it can feel overwhelming trying to plan ahead, but that’s why we’re here to help! We’re reviewing all the snacks, so you know which ones are the best to eat, checking out all the entertainment and ride overlays, and everything in between, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! 12. HAPPY HALLOWEEN! The spooky season has officially kicked off at Disney World, and we couldn’t be more excited. Let’s go to the party! Halloween decorations have gone up in Magic Kingdom, Halloween treats have arrived, and we’re coming to you LIVE from the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of 2025. We’re experiencing all the sights, sounds, snacks, and more, so come along with us for a night of frightfully festive fun! Once you’ve got that band, you are ready to rock ‘n’ roll…and enjoy the spooky festivities! Crowds We made our way into Magic Kingdom right at 4 PM, so we had plenty of time to explore the party. But, we certainly weren’t the only ones who wanted to do that! There was quite a crowd waiting outside the gates to scan in. It’s hot out! And if you’re planning to rope drop the party at 4PM, you should know that its very hot in Florida right now! Getting there early means you’ll be standing in the direct sun until they start letting everyone inside. It’s hot! We’ll keep you updated on the rest of the crowds throughout the party! The Map As you enter the party, make sure you pick up a special party map. This will have everything you need about your evening, including entertainment showtimes, trick-or-treat locations, character meet and greets, snack spots, and more. The party map! The physical map also comes with a QR code so you can access the digital event guide. This thing is your holy grail for navigating the party. The map! The map also gives you a rundown of available dining locations, so you know where to snag something to eat during your visit. Map details This is different from a regular park map and makes for a fun (FREE!) souvenir, so don’t forget to pick one up as you head into the event. Trick-or-Treating One of the most fun things you can do at the party is go trick-or-treating. Yes, adults get to trick-or-treat in Disney World! You’ll be given a reusable treat bag when you enter the park for the party. Pro tip: bring your own bag because the free bags are WAY too small for all the candy you’ll get. This year’s trick-or-treat bag! The bags have fun party-themed designs on the front and back. This year, the backside has the grave diggers from the Boo to You Parade. Hi ghosts! And when you pick up your bag at the party entrance, you’ll also get your first candy of the night — a bag of Caramel M&Ms! YUM There is also a special treat bag for those with food allergies, so if you are in need of those accommodations, make sure to ask. There are SO MANY treat locations throughout the park, and you’ll find them all listed on the party map! Costumes Both adults and children are allowed to wear costumes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and we look forward to seeing them every year! There are some rules you’ll need to know, though. For visitors ages 13 and under: Costumes and some costume masks may be worn; masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen. For Guests 14 Years of Age or Older: Costumes may be worn according to these guidelines. Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from Disney parks, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards: All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests. Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent. Costumes may not contain any props or accessories that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest. Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening. Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (for example, full-length Princess dresses) Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist. Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are acceptable. Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus. Costume headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face. Costume masks of any kind may not be worn. Make sure you stay tuned for what sort of creative costumes partygoers come up with this year. Attractions If you’re looking to ride some attractions with short wait times, here’s your chance. Even better, though, some rides have special overlays you can only experience during the party, including a Halloween-themed Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Pirates of the Caribbean during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Here’s a full list of rides open during the party: Adventureland Jungle Cruise The Magic Carpets of Aladdin Pirates of the Caribbean Swiss Family Treehouse Frontierland Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (standby line offered) Liberty Square Haunted Mansion Fantasyland Prince Charming Regal Carrousel “It’s a small world” Peter Pan’s Flight The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Mad Tea Party Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Storybook Circus Dumbo the Flying Elephant The Barnstormer Tomorrowland Astro Orbiter Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Monsters Inc. 13. The Halloween season has officially begun in Disney World with the start of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom tonight! The party map! We can’t wait to try all the party-specific treats and see the entertainment we love so much, but we can’t forget about the merchandise! Ever since Disney announced this new popcorn bucket and sipper in July, we’ve been so stoked to pick it up during the party, and now it’s finally time. The new popcorn bucket available is The Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Skellington Gravestone Bucket! It features Jack Skellington with a jack-o-lantern in hand as he sits on a tombstone. You can purchase him for $26.29, and it includes popcorn at the time of purchase! Popcorn Stand Sign The tombstone itself is what opens up for the popcorn, which we think is so clever. Jack Skellington Popcorn Bucket You can find Zero at the bottom of the tombstone as well! Zero! You can find it at multiple popcorn stands throughout Magic Kingdom. We personally spotted it at the popcorn stand right at the castle. While lines for this item could get longer as we get closer to the official start of the party, we found that the wait was pretty short at 4:30 PM. Popcorn Bucket Line If you’re looking for a sipper, check out the Mayor Sipper, which is none other than the Mayor from The Nightmare Before Christmas. You can turn his head so he’s either spooky or nice, which we think is super clever. This one is only available at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, so be prepared for long lines here as well, and there’s a limit of two per person, per transaction. ©Disney Looking for more recent Halloween news to prepare for your upcoming trip? 14. Did you know the best fast food chain in Florida is right near your Disney World hotel? PDQ! When you think of the best fast food in Florida, your mind might jump to familiar chains like Chick-fil-A or Shake Shack, but according to Love Food, the top spot goes to PDQ, a Florida-based restaurant specializing in fresh, never-frozen chicken and a variety of bold sauces. And here’s the best part: there’s a PDQ location just about 10 minutes from Walt Disney World, making it the perfect off-property dining option for guests. PDQ’s menu is a comfort food dream. Their chicken tenders are the star of the show. Known for being crispy, juicy, and served with your choice of flavorful sauces, such as creamy Garlic Parmesan, smoky Korean BBQ, tangy Honey Mustard, or Nashville Hot. You can get them crispy, grilled, or tossed in sauce, and pair them with sides like golden waffle fries, buttery garlic toast, creamy mac & cheese, or Parmesan broccoli if you’re looking for something more nutritious. Entrance Sandwich lovers will want to check out the Spicy Chicken, the indulgent Honey Butter, or the crispy classic with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, PDQ’s hand-spun milkshakes featuring flavors like Oreo, Reese’s, and strawberry make the perfect dessert after a long day in the parks. Crispy Chicken Sandwich The restaurant is located at 2224 Western Way, Winter Garden, FL, which is just minutes from Disney World property. The convenience of PDQ goes beyond its location. If you’re staying at a Disney World resort and the late-night hunger hits after the quick-service spots have closed, you can still get your hands on their delicious chicken through delivery apps like DoorDash and Grubhub. Just place your order to your resort address, meet your driver in the lobby, and enjoy a freshly made meal without ever leaving your hotel. How to DoorDash to Disney World Mediterranean Chicken Salad Disney dining is magical, but it’s also limited to certain hours, so having PDQ as a backup means you don’t have to settle for leftover snacks in your room or wait until morning for something satisfying. They deliver until 11 PM. Plus, it can give you a break from the typical quick service options you find! 19. We’ve all seen the TikToks — and yeah, they might look fun, but they could also get you into serious trouble. France Pavilion In recent weeks, a trend has been popping up online showing guests jumping into Disney World fountains. Some are splashing around. Some are posing for “epic” shots. Others are even treating the fountains like their own personal swimming pools. But before you start planning your own stunt for the ‘gram, there’s something you should know — this could actually be against the law, and it’s definitely not something Disney is okay with. Why This Is a Big Problem Let’s start with the obvious: Disney’s fountains aren’t built for swimming. They’re carefully designed centerpieces meant to enhance the atmosphere and create photo ops for all guests — not just the ones who decide to hop in. When someone jumps in, they’re not only disrupting the carefully crafted show, they’re also getting in the way of other people who came to enjoy the view or grab their own family photos. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion On top of that, it’s dangerous. Fountains are not maintained to the same safety standards as pools. The surfaces are slippery, the water isn’t treated for swimming, and there are hidden elements like lights and pumps that can cause injury. You might be imagining a quick splash for a video, but it can easily turn into a fall, a cut, or worse. Dancing Fountain And yes — this could land you in hot water (pun intended). Trespassing laws and Disney’s own park rules prohibit guests from entering restricted areas. Fountains fall into that category. If you’re caught, you could be escorted out of the park, banned from Disney World altogether, or even face legal consequences depending on the situation. How This Trend Took Off Social media has a way of turning bad ideas into viral moments. One person posts a clip of themselves running into a fountain, and suddenly others think, “Well, if they did it, why not me?” It might feel harmless, especially compared to other theme park rule-breaking, but Disney sees it differently. Gaston’s fountain The reality is that trends like this spread quickly because they’re visually striking — a fountain backdrop, playful splashes, and an unexpected twist on a familiar location. But behind the scenes, it’s a nightmare for Cast Members, who are responsible for keeping both you and the park safe. Every time someone tries this, it means more cleanup, more safety hazards, and more strain on the people who make the magic happen. What Happens If You Get Caught Disney’s Security team is always watching. Many guests don’t realize how many cameras are placed around the parks, and they absolutely will notice if you decide to take a dip in a restricted area. Once you’re spotted, a Cast Member or security officer will approach and ask you to leave the water immediately. Imagination Pavilion fountain From there, the consequences can vary. You might just get a warning — or you might be escorted out of the park. If your actions are deemed severe enough, you could face a permanent ban from all Disney properties. And if local law enforcement is involved, you could be cited for trespassing or disorderly conduct. Not exactly the magical memory you were going for. Better Ways to Cool Off If the Florida heat is what’s tempting you to jump into a fountain, we promise there are way better (and totally legal) ways to cool down. Head to one of the designated splash pads, like the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station in Magic Kingdom or the play area near Test Track in EPCOT. Time to cool off! You can also take advantage of air-conditioned attractions, indoor shows, or even grab a frozen treat from spots like Sunshine Tree Terrace or L’Artisan des Glaces. And of course, the water rides — like Kali River Rapids or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — are designed to give you that soaking-wet moment without breaking any rules. The Bottom Line Disney World is built to be enjoyed by everyone. The fountains are part of the show, and hopping in for a viral moment takes that away from other guests while also putting yourself at risk. And while it might feel like a harmless bit of fun, Disney and Florida law do not see it that way. Cinderella Castle If you want unforgettable memories, you’ll find plenty of ways to make them without risking a park ban or an injury. Save the splashing for the places Disney intended — and leave the fountains for photos, not swimming. Don’t forget to follow DFB for more Disney tips and tricks. 20. Hurricane season is upon us at Disney World! Rainy day at Magic Kingdom This summer hasn’t brought us any overly crazy weather so far at Disney World, but it looks like a hurricane has officially formed in the Atlantic. Let’s take a look at what’s coming so we can be prepared! The National Hurricane Center has been monitoring multiple storms over the last few weeks, with Tropical Storm Erin being one of them, and things seem to be getting worse with this storm. ©Wesh2 According to the National Hurricane Center, what was Tropical Storm Erin has now officially become Hurricane Erin. An advisory was issued for countries along the western Atlantic by the NHC because of the hurricane. ©WFLA Erin is projected to form into a Category 4 Hurricane. As of right now, Erin is located several hundred miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. We can expect heavy rainfall, so places such as the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands, and Puerto Rico should be aware of possible flash flooding. Storms can hit Disney World often We’re still in the very early stages, so the National Hurricane Center is still unsure of what this storm could do to places like the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the east coast of the United States. We’ll have to keep an eye out as news progresses over time. Ponchos in Disney World As for Disney World, make sure you pack accordingly for your trip with the anticipation of rain. 21. There is no shortage of options when it comes to dining in Disney World. Plus, when you include all the dining options at Disney Springs, it can start to feel a bit overwhelming. That is where we come in! We have eaten EVERYWHERE in Disney World, and we always want to make sure you are making the best dining choices on your trip. Southern Pig Sandwich We recently stopped by The Polite Pig at Disney Springs to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to Disney Springs? Find out here! Atmosphere The Polite Pig is located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs. It is a modern barbecue restaurant that serves up Florida-inspired cuisine. It is most known for its wood-fired options, plus an extensive collection of whiskies. Everything is served up in a fast, casual setting, and you can opt for indoor or outdoor seating. The Polite Pig The owners of this restaurant, James and Julie Petrakis (in partnership with Chef Brian Petrakis), are well known in the Orlando area for their restaurants The Ravenous Pig and Cask & Larder. You will wait in line to place your order, then you can find your favorite seat inside the restaurant. Your food will be brought out to you, and a friendly employee will be around if there is anything else you need! The Polite Pig Let’s take a look at what is on the menu! Menu The Polite Pig focuses on modern barbecue, so let’s take a look at what’s on the menu! You can choose from shareables and salads. ©Disney There is a whole section of the menu dedicated to meals that are from the smoker. ©Disney You can also grab a sandwich and choose from a variety of market sides. ©Disney There are also a couple of options for dessert! ©Disney Don’t worry, there are also options for the kiddos! ©Disney There are also a few options for beverages, as well as a large variety of beer and wine. ©Disney You can also grab one of The Polite Pig’s small-batch cocktails. ©Disney They also offer some whiskey flights! ©Disney Now that we know what there is to look forward to, let’s dig in! Eats First up, we grabbed the BBQ Meatballs for $13. These are made with house brisket, cheddar grits, and Layla’s sweet BBQ sauce. BBQ Meatballs These were surprisingly tasty! They don’t look super appetizing, and we do feel like the amount of crispy onions was a bit of an overkill, but you can easily eat around them or brush them out if you’re not a fan. The meatballs didn’t look overly moist, but they were actually really juicy! They had a meaty flavor to them and they were coated in a sweet BBQ sauce that was slightly sticky. That’s a LOT of onions Our reporter wasn’t a huge fan of grits, but we think these were cooked well. We didn’t taste much cheddar in them at all; they mostly just added a bit of almost creaminess and a soft texture. Our only complaint is that we wish it had fewer fried onions, but other than that, we enjoyed it! They were really juicy! For our entree, we got the Southern Pig Sandwich for $13. It is made with pulled pork, fennel-apple slaw, tangy mustard BBQ, and Duke’s mayo served with a pickle spear. Southern Pig Sandwich The pork was tender, and we loved the tangy slaw on top. It added a great crunch to balance the softness of the pork, and while we didn’t taste much BBQ sauce on top and wished there was more, the good news is they brought us out a selection of sauces, so we added some on top! We also wish the bun was a little fresher. Southern Sandwich We couldn’t say no to some carbs and cheese, so for our first side, we got the Mac and Cheese for $6. It is made with aged cheddar and breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs on top are what really sold us, as they added the perfect amount of seasoning and crunch. The Mac & Cheese itself is a white cheddar, so it was creamy but not swimming in sauce, which we liked. It was a good portion and even had the crunchy baked cheese on top, which was wonderful! Mac & Cheese We also got the Crispy Brussel Sprouts as a side for $6. It’s served with whiskey-caramel, and these were one of our favorite things! They were cooked really well and had a bit of crispiness on the outside while being soft and easy to eat in the middle. It is on the sweeter side, but it worked really well with the sprouts. These were some of the best Brussel Sprouts we’ve ever had, so we’ll definitely be back for them. Brussels Sprouts Finally, for dessert, we got the Blueberry Bread Pudding for $8. This was a generous portion, and you could easily share. It was crispy on the outside and nice and moist in the center. There were blueberries throughout the bread, and it was also served with some blueberry compote, making it overall very sweet, but also very delicious! Blueberry Bread Pudding If you love bread pudding and blueberries, we couldn’t recommend it more, and we hope it stays on the menu for a while! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for some great comfort food options in Disney Springs You’re a meat eater and looking for some really solid options You love bread pudding (this bread pudding is TOTALLY worth a visit) You want fast but very delicious food at a reasonable price You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not in Disney Springs You want a lighter meal option You want a sit down meal, not quick service Overall The Polite Pig very rarely lets us down, and it remains one of our favorite quick-service spots in Disney Springs, especially if you’re looking for Southern comfort food! We highly recommend giving it a try if you’re interested in the different menu options — we don’t think you’ll be disappointed! 22. It’s finally Halloween time in Disney World! Let’s talk snacks! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins on August 15th, 2025, and we are feeling all of the spooky vibes! Before the party kicks off tonight, we’re stopping by Magic Kingdom to try the holiday snacks you can get without the need for a special event ticket. Let’s check the limited-time treats you can snack on right now! There are so many treats (over 45 to be exact) at this year’s Halloween party, and some of them are even available during the day without a ticket to the after-hours party. Starting us off on Main Street, U.S.A., we’re headed to Plaza Ice Cream Parlor! Plaza Ice Cream Parlor Here you can grab the Pumpkin Sundae for $8.29! It’s a new item this year with pumpkin gelato with pumpkin-spiced caramel sauce, pumpkin brittle, and Halloween sprinkles. The Pumpkin Sundae Honestly, our reporter thought this was disgusting; however, if you are obsessed with pumpkin, this is great. It is VERY pumpkin, to the point where it tasted exactly like a pumpkin pie. There are pumpkin seeds on top, which is a nice touch, plus they’re candied, so it adds a bit of sweetness and crunch with some salt. It was cute visually, but it didn’t blow us away. There’s a ton of whipped cream, which we did love! Again, it was serving pumpkin pie. So pumpkiny! The caramel sauce was really buried by the whipped cream, and it wasn’t as apparent. Honestly, this was fine to us! If you love pumpkin pie, this is for you! That being said, if you literally chose any other pie at Thanksgiving, skip this. This item is available during the day and at the after-hours party! It’s more Thanksgiving than Halloween. Next, we stopped by Columbia Harbour House to grab the new S’mores Cup! This will set you back $5.99. The S’mores cup! This new item is made with layers of graham cracker crumbs, chocolate ganache, chocolate popping candies, milk chocolate panna cotta, and marshmallow cream. The marshmallow ghosts are so good and fluffy and SO cute. The chocolate pancetta is very smooth, and it has just the right amount of chocolate. It’s thick, fluffy, and airy. The ghosties! The layer of chocolate pop rocks was interesting, and we can’t quite decide how we feel about it. The crunch in the dessert is going to come from the Pop Rocks, not the graham crackers, which are pretty moist and have a sandy texture. The chocolate It’s a fun play on s’mores and perfectly weird for Halloween. This item is only available during the day, so if you want it, go grab it before the party starts. We love it! Finally, we made the short trek to Liberty Square Market to grab the Magic Potion Slushy for $6.29. This item is made with a Fanta Blue Raspberry slush and mixed with yuzu. This new drink actually changes color from blue to green when you stir it! The Magic Potion Slushy To be honest, we expected more from this one. The entire flavor profile was just blue raspberry, and we didn’t get any of the Yuzu at all. The beginning! After we mixed it, it didn’t really change to green either. It was sorta already green when we got it. More green! We just expected a bigger change and more flavor from this one, but if you want a colorful, familiar favorite, it’s a decent option. This snack, as well as tons of other snacks, will be available at both the party and regular park hours. These brand-new snacks are just the start of what we’re diving into tonight because Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party kicks off soon! Be sure to stick around all night with DFB so you can see our live updates of the snacks, entertainment, and more. 24. Avast ye mateys, it’s nearly time to set sail. ©Disney The Magic Kingdom will see a massive opening on August 29th, as the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Beak and Barrel is finally opening! I’ve been writing about Disney World for nearly 7 years, and I can’t say I recall quite this much anticipation for a lounge! First announced back in 2024, the Beak and Barrel is themed to a “rambunctious watering hole” that will offer a haven for all pirates, bandits and buccaneers to “raise a toast to the pirate life!” After months of anticipation, Disney finally announced the August 29th opening date in early August. ©Disney Beyond those dates, Disney also announced the Beak and Barrel menu. The new lounge will offer non-alcoholic beverages, including The Treasure Trove and The Cursed Treasure, and cocktails including the Salty Seas mARRRgarita, the Siren’s Whisper, the Barrels Ablaze, and the Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale. Cursed Treasure ©Disney Guests will be able to enjoy those drinks in a highly-themed, pirate atmosphere which features two major rooms: The Mess: A large central space themed as a former mess hall for Spanish soldiers, The Mess features long tables that span the room, “allowing for pirates to gather ‘round and tell their own tales, while an imposing anchor covered in candles and dripping wax hangs high above.   A large bar anchors one side of the room, cobbled together from salvaged portions of a cursed shipwreck. At its center, the skull-shaped stern holds an impressive collection of grogs and brew. Guests may also spot the Enchanted Rum Bottle, which was gifted to Merry by the enchantress Tia Dalma and seemingly serves as the source of the tavern’s specialty brews, or Rummy hobbling along the bar’s ledge, greeting the patrons and keeping a close eye on the crew while Merry is away. “ ©Disney The Captain’s Quarters: Themed as the former living space of a Spanish Comandante, the luxurious Captain’s Quarters featuring intricate theming including “fine artwork and drapery”on the walls, much of which “hasn’t escaped slashing blades or burn marks over the years by rambunctious pirates” and group of five ships in a bottle sitting on the mantle mounted above the fireplace that are “rumored to represent pirates from every corner of the world banding together to defeat tyranny.” According to Disney, guests should “keep a weathered eye out, as these mysterious bottles have been known to come alive and engage in a fearsome battle.” ©Disney After months of anticipation, Disney Adults are salivating at the idea of heading to the Magic Kingdom on August 29th to experience the Beak and Barrel! Stay tuned to DFB for more on the lounge’s opening! 2 NEW RULES We Can Expect at Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom Are you planning to head to the Beak and Barrel anytime soon? 25. It may be hard to believe, but we’ve eaten at every Disney World restaurant, every snack stand, and every EPCOT festival booth! Disney World There are so many restaurants across the Disney World property that we absolutely LOVE, from the parks, to the resorts, to Disney Springs! That being said, we’ll be honest and admit that there are some places we just wouldn’t recommend. Then again…we do like to change our minds from time to time. There is one spot in Magic Kingdom we used to tell people to skip, but it is now a place we definitely think you should try! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. We’re talking about Tony’s Town Square! Tony’s Town Square This restaurant is themed after Disney’s animated classic, Lady and the Tramp. It’s an adorably themed Italian restaurant, where you’ll find different pictures and nods to the iconic movie! Tony’s Town Square Ok, let’s address the elephant in the room — for years and years, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant has been considered as one of, if not the WORST, places to eat in Magic Kingdom. A little harsh, but it is true. It’s been called things like Disney’s Olive Garden or just way too salty. You’re probably thinking this is a terrible sales pitch, but bear with us. Tony’s! If you’re looking for decent Italian food and a nice, simple meal, then this restaurant could be a great choice — especially for pickier eaters! The menu is filled with wines, cocktails, desserts, and Italian dishes for adults and kids. Something we recently had and liked was the Chicken Parmigiana. Chicken Parmigiana The restaurant is filled with pasta options that really aren’t that bad. Will they blow you away? Probably not — but they aren’t bad! However, that’s not why we’re recommending this place to you. You NEED to come to this restaurant for one thing, and one thing only… Tony’s Town Square Restaurant …THE BREAD OPTIONS!!! Bread Service So the meal does come with complimentary Bread Service, which had a slight crunch to it that we adored, but the middle was soft and fluffy. It was great! However, we’re talking about the bread options you order. More specifically, Tony’s Garlic Bread For The Table and the Fried Mozzarella. Tony’s Garlic Bread For The Table! Listen, this will change how you view garlic bread and mozzarella sticks forever! We would come to this restaurant for these ALONE! YUMMM The restaurant as a whole has certainly gotten much better than it used to be over the past few years. It’s obviously still not anywhere close to where we’d say it’s one of the best restaurants in the park. However, we absolutely LOVE Tony’s Garlic Bread and the mozz sticks. If you’re going to this restaurant, GET THEM! The garlic bread comes with Parmesan Fonduta that is HEAVENLY. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant We may not have recommended it before, and we can’t believe we are now — but trust us, it is worth going to this place for those two items. For all things Disney, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! DON'T DO IT ALONE!
