  1. There is a lot coming to Disney World in the next few years! In anticipation of the new lands and expansions, Disney World is also under quite a bit of construction right now. Plus, Disney is also working on refurbishing other attractions and locations to keep everything looking nice and fresh! It can be easy to lose track of all the closure announcements recently, but we are here to help! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin We don’t want anyone to be disappointed when you walk up to an attraction or restaurant only to find out it is having a planned closure. We want you to be prepared if you are heading to Disney World this week, so we are rounding up everything that is scheduled to be closed this week! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from August 16th through August 23rd, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom A popular Tomorrowland attraction is now closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. The river has also started to be drained! You can see the bottom more clearly Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. Magic Kingdom Just Transformed OVERNIGHT Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! 4 Magic Kingdom Meals We Avoid at All Costs Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to be A Bug! It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. The Boneyard will be closing for good on September 2nd, 2025. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” NEW Aerial Photos Give Us a Glimpse Into Construction Progress at Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Muppets Courtyard behind walls Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. A Major Lightning Lane CHANGE Starts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Soon Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is currently closed Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! REVIEW: A Margarita TREE and Live Music? It Doesn’t Get Better Than This at Disney Springs Disney World Hotels Cabanas Leisure Pool – Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort One of the pools at Disney’s Coronado Springs will be temporarily closed for maintenance. From August 17th through August 24th, 2025, the Cabanas leisure pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. The pool will be unavailable during this time, and guests may hear construction noise. Disney’s Coronado Springs The good news is that there are still plenty of pools to use! The Lost City of Cibola pool, as well as the Casitas and Ranchos leisure pools, will still be available during the refurbishment of the Cabanas leisure pool. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. 3 Disney World Hotels in Desperate Need of New Life Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? 2. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, some items are banned from the parks that you need to make sure not to bring. Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World may be known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” but not everything is welcome inside the gates. The parks have a surprisingly long list of banned items. Some you’d probably expect, like weapons or alcohol, and others that might catch you off guard. These rules are in place to keep guests safe and the magic running smoothly, but there’s one particular prohibited item we still see slipping past security almost every single day… If you’ve been to Walt Disney World lately, you’ve probably spotted them — selfie sticks popping up in lines, midway through crowds, even in front of iconic attractions. But here’s the thing: bringing selfie sticks into the parks is flat-out not allowed. Disney’s official property rules state, “Selfie sticks, hand-held extension poles for cameras or mobile devices, flags, and banners are not allowed in any theme park or water park.” No Selfie Sticks! Why such a harsh stance on what seems like a harmless photo tool? For one, safety. A selfie stick mistakenly swung or dropped in a fast-moving ride can seriously injure other park guests or even damage ride mechanisms. Then there’s etiquette: those sticks extend into others’ personal space, block views during shows or parades, and generally add a layer of inconvenience in already crowded areas. Disney knows that even one guest misusing a stick can ruin the experience for many. Selfie Stick in the Wild Despite the rules, selfie sticks remain surprisingly common, especially in queues and photo spots. We aren’t sure if enforcement has relaxed over the years, but we have seen them in the parks. We’ve seen them on rides or even during fireworks. Other times, guests may simply not realize the rule exists until a Cast Member asks them to put it away. Cinderella Castle Luckily, there are safer, policy-friendly ways to capture your Disney memories. First, use Disney PhotoPass photographers. They’re stationed throughout the parks, and if you purchase MemoryMaker. Even if you don’t, these Cast Members can take photos with your phone if you ask them. If you’re traveling solo, consider using a small tripod that fits in your backpack and doesn’t extend; those are typically allowed. Most importantly, skip the selfie stick. You’ll keep everyone safer and preserve more of that magic for yourself and your fellow guests. 3. If you know anything about us, you know we like to eat. It’s why we’re called the Disney FOOD Blog, after all. Now, that doesn’t mean we’re just eating food AT Disney World. Cheese Bread Nope, we’re also eating food in Orlando, including the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. Now, we’ve been to a character breakfast at Ravello there before, but we recently got an opportunity to try a progressive dinner that let us try THREE restaurants at Four Seasons — and we’re going to tell you all about it. The Four Seasons invited us to “An Evening of Culinary Discovery,” a special media event that gave us a chance to try food and drinks from restaurants at the hotel. We arrived at the meeting point, the hotel’s grand entry chandelier. From there, the adventure began. They sent us on a secret treasure hunt to a hidden bar! We started with a clue from a napkin given to us at the lobby bar. A clue! We followed all the clues and ended up with a library card that gave us the final clue we needed to find the bar. We had to scan our library card to get inside. Yes, REALLY. Another clue! We made it! This is Epilogue, Four Seasons’ hidden book-themed speakeasy (hence the library card). We’re suddenly feeling like The Great Mouse Detective! The space has a “subtle library theme and a nod to Florida’s history.” The decor screams Art Deco, and the menu is inside a book. Oh, by the way, this bar is so hidden that photos past this curtain aren’t allowed. SUPER SECRET, y’all. We’re surprised we didn’t need to know the secret password or a special handshake to get inside. This is the only part of the bar we could photograph We ordered one of the cocktails, a French 75 (and note they can make mocktails out of any of the cocktails on the menu), and took it out past the curtained area to get a photo. Isn’t it pretty? Pretty drink So after we did secret things in the secret bar, we got to visit Ravello, where we were treated to food and drinks. We started with the Zero Proof Ravello Spritz. Zero proof ravello spritz Then it was time for food. We got Cheese Bread, y’all. You KNOW how we feel about Cheese Bread. So, yeah, way to win us over RIGHT away. It had some wonderful sauces with it like a parmesan pesto sauce and a chili-based sauce. Both were so good. This was a lot like that Brazilian cheese bread we love, but with an Italian twist and melted parmesan on top. Imagine the best pizza crust you’ve ever had in your life…that’s what it was like. Cheese bread! We followed that with the Caponata di melanzane con burrata e crostini with Sicilian caponata, burrata cheese, and mint oil. It’s cheese on toast…seriously, what’s not to love? The crostini was crunchy and buttery, and the burrata was lovely and cheesy. Caponata di melanzane con burrata e crostini Next up was the Tonno e salmone crudio with tuna, salmon, taggiasca olives, roasted bell peppers, citrus emulsion, and celery-mint salad. This was kind of like sushi. It was light and refreshing. Tonno e salmone crudio The Polpettine is meatballs, marainara, prosciutto, pomodoro sauce, mascarpone, and grilled pane pugliese. We’ll just tell you now this was our favorite thing we tried all evening. The meatballs were well-seasoned and juicy. The tomato sauce was rich. Polpettine Okay, two stops down, one more to go. We headed to Capa to try some food and drinks there and ended up with a full-sized meal. Whew! The Tomahawk is Australian wagyu with caramelized black onions. This is a super high quality steak that’s tender and juicy. However, we thought the ends on it were a bit tough, but the middle pieces were perfect. It also has a nice fat to steak ratio happening. Tomahawk The Calabaza is roasted summer squash, whipped manchego, and toasted breadcrumbs. It’s very summery with a nice crunch. The squash itself tasted bright. Calabaza The squash is served with Verdes, a salad of field greens, pickled peach, cana de cabra, and walnut barbacoa. They were really playing with summer flavors here. The cana de cabra, a goat cheese, was quite strong, though. But it was a unique salad, and that impressed us. Verdes Then there were the Patatas, made with Yukon Gold potatoes and brown butter. These were so creamy and smooth, but also super buttery. To quote our reporter, “I would want to eat these iced on a cake.” Patatas But we weren’t done yet. We also got a choice of desserts. We chose the Tarta de Queso, a Basque vanilla cheesecake with warm chocolate hazelnut ganache. The cheesecake was light and fluffy and the chocolate hazelnut added a nice sweet and chocolate flavor. So to sum up, the highlights of Capa for us were the potatoes and the cheesecake. Tarta de Queso The one thing we loved about Capa is that it is surrounded by balconies with views of Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. This would be a great spot to watch the fireworks. What a view! Stay tuned to DFB for more. REVIEW: This Is One of the Best Things In Disney World…And We Won’t Be Taking Questions Have you ever dined at the Four Seasons Orlando? 6. The most highly rated theme park in the United States has a unique feature inside the park! ©Dollywood Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dollywood is Dolly Parton’s beloved theme park offering rides, shows, crafts, and seasonal festivals. This theme park was just announced as the most highly rated in the US, according to TripAdvisor. But there is one thing that makes this theme park a little different than others, and guests can only participate in it on Sundays. Did you know that if you visit Dollywood on a Sunday, you can attend a 30-minute, non-denominational worship service right in the park? Services are held at 11:30 a.m. during the regular season, in the cozy one-room country church surrounded by Craftsman’s Valley. It’s a meaningful space with wooden pews, historic doors, antique stained-glass windows, and even a bell from a one-room school, all of which predate the park itself. ©Dollywood Visiting Dollywood during the Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration? You’re in for a treat with the service schedule shifts for the holidays, with worship moving to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. It’s a serene, festive experience, blending quiet reflection with the glow of holiday lights and seasonal decorations. ©Dollywood Having a chapel inside a theme park might seem odd, but at Dollywood, it fits perfectly. It serves guests who might want to attend worship without disrupting their family’s park day, offering a moment of peace amid the thrills. The chapel has anchored the park since its earliest days and has offered Sunday services so guests don’t miss their spiritual traditions while enjoying Dollywood. ©Dollywood For more theme park news, be sure to follow DFB! 7. I look forward to going to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party every year. This after-hours event is one of Disney’s most popular and is full of exclusive snacks, one-of-a-kind entertainment, and rare characters to cross off your bucket list. 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party map Unfortunately, prices continue to rise every year, and it’s making us question if it’s worth the cost. You only have access to the Magic Kingdom for a limited time, and not everything in the parks is open. Should you buy a party ticket this year? Let’s find out! Prices and Basics It’s hard not to talk about whether it’s worth the price without talking about the price. Tickets cost $119 to $229 plus tax, depending on the date you pick. Parities are on select nights between August 15th and October 31st, and there are discounts on select nights for Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members. Mother Gothel at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party With your ticket, you can enter Magic Kingdom at 4 PM, even though the party doesn’t start till 7 PM. It runs till midnight, which means you get 8 hours of party fun. It’s important to note that this is a separate ticket from a normal park ticket, so if you plan on going to Magic Kingdom earlier in the day, you’ll need to purchase both tickets. Here’s a full look at dates for the party! August 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, and 29th September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, and 30th October 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th, and 31st Mickey and Minnie! What’s Included? There are tons of exclusive party night-only experiences during the night, including: Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade Dickey’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular (fireworks show) The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular (stage show) Trick-or-treating around the parks with a free bag and candy Ability to ride attractions, including three with Halloween overlays Rare character meet and greets Access to exclusive snacks and merchandise (for an additional cost) Cruella Why You SHOULD Go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party The Halloween party has truly some of the best entertainment offerings we’ve seen. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade is always super popular, and as soon as the Headless Horseman runs down the road, you know it’s time for something magical. The fireworks are also not to miss as Jack Skellington takes you for a (kid-friendly) spooky adventure. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Can we talk about the characters? We love seeing our favorite characters in their own Halloween costumes or characters we never get to see, like Gaston and Jack and Sally. Goofy and Daisy There are also SO many snacks to try. You won’t have enough time to try them all (unless you have a secret strategy that you need to share with us), but we love being able to try exclusive food and get fully into the Halloween spirit. Candy Corn Verrine Speaking of the Halloween spirit, in Florida, it can be pretty hard to feel fall in the air. Going to seasonal events helps remind us that there are different seasons and holidays to celebrate, even if the air isn’t getting any colder. Halloween fireworks Why You Might Want to SKIP Really, it’s going to depend on your preferences. If characters and entertainment aren’t your thing, you might get bored after doing the candy stops and riding a few rides. If entertainment is your thing, you might get overwhelmed or stressed trying to fit in all the different shows. Trick or treat bag There’s also a bunch of other people! While there are fewer people than on a normal park day, it sometimes feels about the same. There are usually long lines for characters, merchandise, food, and rides, and you’ll likely have to stake out your spot for entertainment earlier than you would prefer. Who wants to spend their evening waiting in lines? Crowds Florida might be known as the Sunshine State, but I’ve seen plenty of rain clouds ruin a perfect day in Magic Kingdom. It can be very hot to be experiencing Halloween, especially if you decide to wear a costume and wait in line for characters and shows. If it rains, sometimes entertainment can be canceled, and it can feel like you wasted money for only getting free candy. Sometimes (emphasizing sometimes), they give us “rain check” tickets to come back another night, but you might not be able to come another night, and comped tickets aren’t always offered. 2024 Clouds coming in Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is also usually the same every year. While there might be new snacks or an additional character or two, most of the classic meet and greets are the same, along with the fireworks show and parade. If you’ve done it before, you might not feel the desire to experience the exact same event. You could dress up to meet these cool cats Is Anything New Coming this Year? While the Jack and Sally meet and greet is not new, they are getting an updated look. This is usually the best meet and greet during the party, and people will literally wait hours for this. Because of the new look, it might even be busier! Jack and Sally in 2024 The pirates-themed tavern, Beak and Barrel, will also be open during the party this year after August 29th. If you want a full themed experience or you’re dressing up as pirates for Halloween, this can be a great way to take your party to the next level. Keep in mind this is an additional cost and will take about 45 minutes to an hour during your party, by the time you check in and pay the bill. ©Disney There are also new snacks to try (which is what I’m most excited for). New snacks come every year, but if there’s something you can’t live without, most of these are only available during the party, after 7 PM, so if you’re a huge foodie like us, it can be perfect. Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine Is It Worth It? That’s really going to depend on your priorities. Be honest about what you want to get done and if you have the patience for this event, or if long lines and crowds are going to frustrate you (and hey, I get it!). And it can get crowded, so keep that in mind. Also, if you plan on going to the party in its earlier months, it’s going to be very hot, so plan and dress accordingly. It does have some of the best entertainment we’ve seen, especially that Boo-to-You Parade, and while we have fun every year, we can’t deny that every year is similar. However, there is a LOT to do, so you might be able to find new things every year. This was also the first year that Storybook Circus was so active with party activities and entertainment, plus we appreciated the new treat trail near Dumbo. We also love that Magic Kingdom has decorated more this year for the party, with each land getting land-specific decor. More decorations this year The highest price at $229 per person is a lot, which means it would cost $916 for a family of four to attend. If you’re on vacation and buying day tickets, this cost can add up fast, but maybe if you’re an Annual Passholder, you don’t mind buying a ticket occasionally. 8. Disney Adults now have an exclusive menu all to themselves at Disney World! Disney Adults Crawl We’ve tasted our way around ALL of Disney World’s restaurants, and it’s quite literally our job to scope out even the most hidden menu items. If you’re going to be visiting Disney World soon, there’s a secret menu around through the end of the month that EVERYONE we know is buzzing about. Not sure which secret menu we’re talking about? Come on, we’ll show you everything you can grab and where you’ll find it. A brand new way to drink your way around Disney World is here, and it’s calling out to Disney Adults everywhere! We’re celebrating the release of New York Times Bestseller, Disney Adults by our very own AJ Wolfe, and she (along with several Disney World restaurants) have prepared something special just for YOU! ‘Disney Adults’ by AJ Wolfe While you might normally think of EPCOT as the place to drink around Disney World, there’s a different kind of drink crawl happening for a limited time in Disney Springs. We’re taking you through the entire crawl now, so buckle up and get ready to foam at the mouth when you spot your favorite! First up on our list of Disney Adults drinks is the Frozen Duck Duck Razz Slush! This little drink is a spin on an iconic drink that you can pick up at The BOATHOUSE, and it’s perfect for those hot summer days. Disney Adults Frozen Duck Duck Razz Slush It’s basically an alcoholic blue raspberry slushie, served chilled in a fun souvenir cup. If you’re wondering what it tastes like before you commit to it, we’ve got you covered! It’s got a light alcoholic taste with a twinge of that tangy raspberry flavor to it that’s not super sweet. The Frozen Duck Duck Razz Slush is a drink that you can sip while you shop till you drop, and it makes for a great souvenir to take home with you. You’ll find the top lid is decked out in the restaurant’s signature rubber duck sporting a cool set of shades while cruising along on the infamous amphicars you can take a ride in while visiting. How cute is he?! The cup where your slush is held holds both the restaurant’s name AND your very own stamp of approval that AJ herself approved this as a Disney Adults drink! If you’re planning on picking this little guy up, it’ll cost you $22. Moving right along on our crawl, we’re headed over to Splitsville Luxury Lanes! While you might initially think of Splitsville as the place to go when you’re up for a game of bowling but there’s SOOO much more to this spot — like some incredible drinks hiding in the wings. Splitsville Luxury Lanes Say hello to the Big Wave Dave! This drink will make you swear you just tasted all of the flavors the ocean has to offer — in all the best ways. It’s made with Wheatley Vodka, grain alcohol, and blue raspberry and topped with some wild fruits and swizzle sticks. Big Wave Dave! The vodka in this one is very smooth, making it barely noticeable against the rest of the slushie drink that reminded us of a tart blueberry lemonade that might make your mouth pucker just a smidge. And if you look closely, you’ll find AJ’s stamp of approval in this drink as well, hidden among the other beach vibes that top this tasty treat. A closer look! All in all, it’s an ideal drink for something to grab when you’re looking to cool down from the heat or need a sweet, but familiar adult beverage. You can grab this one for just $16! Just a skip away, you’ll find another Disney Adults drink offered over at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew! Here we’ve dug deep to bring back the Blueberry Refresher (of course, in that signature pop of blue). It’s made of Blue Raspberry syrup and a white cranberry juice base. Disney Adults Blueberry Refresher This drink is exactly what the Disney Adult doctor ordered! It’s light, refreshing (as the name implies heavily), and it has just the lightest taste of blueberry to it. We LOVED this one because it isn’t built out of heavy syrup and leaves you feeling like you literally just drank water pressed from blueberries. Super refreshing At just $6.50, it’s a great value for the price, and it’s served in a larger cup than we originally thought it would be! Sliding over across the street, we’re making our way over to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ next. Over here, you’ll find the Disney Adults Blue Hooch made of Blue Flame moonshine, lemon-infused moonshine, blue curacao, house-made simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a splash of Sprite. Disney Adults Blue Hooch Did you spot the Disney Adult goodies that come with it? You’ll find AJ’s book cover at the top of your drink next to that popping purple orchid garnish, and you’ll even be served a Disney Adults balloon coaster (we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to take them both home as souvenirs, either). It’s pretty! While the name says moonshine, it’s not nearly as harsh as it sounds on paper. When you’re sipping this drink, you’re instantly transported to a tropical island oasis. If we were sitting on the beach, you’d best believe this would be our chosen drink in hand! At only $16 to order, it’s an incredible value for such a tasty drink that will have you feeling more like you’ve just drifted away to a tropical escape than to a busy tourist destination. We’re switching vibes and headed for a relaxing but spirited journey across the pond. Over at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant, you’ll find the Wild Rosy. This Disney Adults drink is a beautiful floral flavor made of Glendalough Wild Rose Gin, Rockets Botanical Liqueur, homemade rosemary syrup, lemon Pelligrino, and Fever Tree premium tonic. Wild Rosy The botanical liqueur just melts with the rose gin, and then you get a hint of lemon. It’s also kind of bubbly, which comes from the tonic, but the overall drink is smooth. This one can also be served in a non-alcoholic version, too! Disney Adults glow-up But best of all, depending on what time of day you’re grabbing this drink, you could score it at a HUGE discount. During dinner, this drink is $16; however, if you’re arriving earlier during the week, you can grab it for $10 before 3 PM Monday through Friday. The last drink on our crawl here at Disney Springs for the Disney Adults drink, which you might think of more like a treat — we certainly do! Over at Vivoli Il Gelato, you can grab the Tipsy Teacup. It’s a strawberry “affogato” made with peach bellini prosecco in the center. The concept is the same as a typical affogato made with espresso, and if you’re a fan of another flavor, feel free to switch it up and make that request when you’re ordering. Tipsy Teacup That’s kind of the beauty behind this one! It’s a little twist just for us Disney fans that we can each make in our own unique way! It’s also served in an adorable teacup, and you’ll find AJ’s Disney Adults book cover there to greet you when you pick yours up. It’s tipsy, alright! This treat will only cost you $10.75, and we think it’s a steal for the taste! We’re tossing you ONE MORE bonus Disney Adult drink, but you’ll have to leave Disney Springs to snag this one. To find this drink, you’ll need to make your way over to Mexico along EPCOT’s World Showcase and visit La Cava del Tequila. La Cava del Tequila They’ll know instantly you’re a Disney Adult when you ask for The Blue Book. This drink is gorgeous, and it’s made of Pantalones blanco tequila, Calenda mezcal, botanical aperitif, lime juice, a hint of blue curaçao, and topped with cold foam. Disney Adults Margarita at La Cava del Tequila From the looks of it, you might think “pretty drink, even sweeter,” right? WRONG! Our favorite part about this one is that it is so smooth. As we sipped it, we got notes of the botanicals from the aperitif AND the smoke from the mezcal right on the nose. It’s kind of like having the best of both worlds, right? There’s also a fun book image printed right into the cold foam on to,p which is sweet like whipped cream. We thought that was pretty neat since we’ve only seen printed cold foam images made on coffees at Disney World before! Disney Adults Margarita Priced at $18, it’s practically begging you to stop and try it out! Looking for the ENTIRE Disney Adults crawl map and menus? You can grab that here by signing up for the DFB newsletter for FREE! If you just want a list of the items available on the crawl, you can find those right here, too. 9. One of the best parts about a Disney trip has to be the dining experiences! California Adventure We recently stopped by Bayside Brews at Disney California Adventure to pick up a couple of snacks, and we’re telling you our thoughts. Is it worth a stop on your next Disneyland trip? Let’s find out. Atmosphere Bayside Brews is a smaller snack cart located in Paradise Gardens Park, which is right next to Pixar Pier. Paradise Gardens is home to attractions such as The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and Goofy’s Flight School. Bayside Brews But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu At this location, you’ll find the classic soft Jalapeno Cheese-filled Pretzel, Cream Cheese-filled Pretzel, or Mickey Mouse Pretzel! The menu! You’ll also be able to choose from a rotating selection of craft beers, hard ciders, and seasonal margaritas — or opt for an authentic Michelada. Assorted nonalcoholic beverages are also available. And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Jalapeño Pretzel for $7.29. In our opinion, all pretzels should be eaten right after ordering. If you wait too long, they can get a little hard. The jalapeño on this was pretty light, and it didn’t seem like it had a ton of filling (maybe it was just ours). Jalapeño Pretzel At first, we got the sweet pretzel bread flavor after a crunchy bite into the pretzel, followed by a light and creamy jalapeño flavor. Since the spice was lighter than we expected, it left us wanting more of a jalapeño flavor. We liked it, but we felt like this one needed to be fresher and was lacking in the filling. Again, it could’ve just been ours. It could’ve used a little more filling We also got the Cream Cheese Pretzel for $7.29. Remember, try to eat this while it’s hot; that’s when it’s at its best. The bread on this one seemed to be softer and more doughy, with a sweeter flavor than the jalapeño pretzel. Cream Cheese Pretzel Inside was the creamy and sweet cream cheese, which complemented the sweet pretzel bread. The filling on this was better than the jalapeño pretzel, but still lacking a little bit in our opinion. Could’ve used a little more filling! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Lychee Margarita for $18.50. This had to be our favorite thing we got out of the three. At first, it was just refreshing citrus and lychee flavors. When we mixed it a little, we started getting some tequila flavor! Lychee Margarita Still, it was nothing too strong and made for a light and refreshing cocktail. The lychee brought some sweet yet sour/tart flavors with light floral flavors. It was the perfect pair for the refreshing citrus flavors in the margarita! It maybe could’ve used a salt rim — for the vibes. This was so refreshing Nosh or Not This Disneyland restaurant is a must-visit if… You want a quick and easy snack! This is a quick grab-and-go spot if you’re hungry and on the run to your next ride. You’re a pretzel fan! If you love Disneyland pretzels, this one has more options and flavors than other spots. You want a unique alcoholic beverage! We were really surprised by our drink here. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a meal! Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you’ll want to go somewhere else if you want something filling. You aren’t a pretzel person! This really goes without saying, as pretzels are the main snack at this location. Overall Overall, we like this spot. It’s cute, easy, and does what it’s there to do! We’ll hit it from time to time when we’re around that spot in the park and want a snack. Here’s what we got! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 11. Southwest Airlines has really changed things up in 2025, and some travelers are not happy. Orlando International Airport Southwest Airlines has long been known for its two free checked bags and open seating policy, but big changes are shaking up the way its passengers travel. The airline has ended free checked bags, and its signature open seating will be replaced with assigned seats. For many loyal Southwest customers, this means rethinking how they pack, board, and navigate the airport. But some travelers are looking for a loophole in this new policy. Now that Southwest Airlines has joined the list of carriers charging fees for checked luggage, travelers are doing everything they can to avoid that extra cost. The result? A flood of passengers with carry-on suitcases. This means more than the overhead bins can realistically hold. This surge in carry-ons has created a small but useful opportunity for travelers who don’t actually want to deal with stowing their bags above their seats: the gate-check trick. Southwest Planes Here’s how it works. If you arrive at your gate early, ideally before boarding begins, keep an ear out for an announcement from the gate agent asking for volunteers to “gate check” their carry-on bags. This is the airline’s way of freeing up bin space while keeping boarding moving smoothly. If you volunteer, they’ll tag your carry-on and send it down to the cargo hold. The best part? You won’t pay a cent. Your bag will be checked through to your final destination, and you’ll simply pick it up at baggage claim, just like a bag you paid to check. Airport There are a few important caveats. First, the bag you’re offering up must be carry-on size. Oversized or overweight luggage still counts as a regular checked bag and will be subject to the usual fees. Second, while this trick often works, it’s not guaranteed. It depends on the flight’s load and how full the bins are expected to be. That said, on recent Southwest flights out of Orlando, gate agents have been seeking volunteers nearly every time our team has flown with them. Bags no longer fly free This hack is especially handy if you have connecting flights and don’t want to lug your carry-on through the airport between gates. It also saves you from the boarding shuffle. No more worrying about whether your bin space will be taken or wrestling your bag into an awkward spot. Instead, you can board stress-free with just a personal item, and let your suitcase meet you at your final stop. Southwest Airlines So next time you’re flying Southwest out of Orlando—or really, any busy airport—consider arriving at the gate a little earlier. You might just snag yourself a free checked bag and an easier travel day, all thanks to a simple offer to help the airline with their overhead bin crunch. For more travel tips and news, follow DFB! 13. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is one of Disney World’s most beloved events, but there’s one thing that can make the experience a little uncomfortable. 2024 Food and Wine Festival This festival is an annual celebration of global cuisine in Disney World. The festival features Global Marketplace Food Booths, a Concert Series, additional family-friendly activities, and more! The festival will run from August 28th until November 22nd. Am I excited for this festival to return soon? Yes! However, I’ve been writing about this festival for two years, and this is the one big problem I consistently see with it. What makes the festival so uncomfortable? The Florida heat. Even as we move into September, and sometimes well into October, the temperatures can still be scorching. Combine that with high humidity, and suddenly, indulging in some of the festival’s heaviest, richest dishes can go from mouthwatering to miserable in just a few bites. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Take menu items like the Canadian pavilion’s famous Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup or last year’s ooey-gooey Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey from the Greece booth. Add in the deep-fried spanakopita from Greece, the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with bread and potatoes from the Alps booth, and you’ve got delicious, but undeniably heavy, warm eats. They may be comfort food heaven, but in 90-degree heat, they can quickly weigh you down. Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with a pretzel roll The problem isn’t that these dishes aren’t delicious, but in Florida’s late summer and early fall heat, you might find yourself unable to enjoy more than a couple of bites before you start questioning your life choices. That cheesy, creamy, or fried goodness feels perfect for a chilly November day, not for standing in the sun while juggling your festival passport, a fork, and a melting Dole Whip on the side. Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey from the Greece Booth The good news is, you don’t have to skip these festival favorites entirely. One smart move is to share heavier dishes with friends or family so you can get the flavor without the uncomfortable feeling afterward. Another tip? Pace yourself by mixing in lighter festival offerings. And of course, keep a cold beverage in hand at all times, whether that’s a frozen lemonade, iced coffee, or one of the many refreshing festival cocktails. IMPOSSIBLE Chili Macaroni and Cheese with sour cream and cheddar Finally, consider timing your festival visit for the evening hours. Once the sun goes down, temperatures drop just enough to make hot, cheesy, or fried comfort foods more enjoyable. Plus, EPCOT at night during Food & Wine is gorgeous with live music playing, and the perfect breeze rolling in off the World Showcase Lagoon. That way, you can savor every bite without breaking into a sweat before you even finish it. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival For more news on this year’s Food and Wine Festival, be sure to follow DFB! 14. Hey Tiny Train Town fans, we’re back again! Tiny Train Town! The itty bitty city is still rife with crime and shenanigans, and of course we have to stop by every once in a while to see if everyone’s on their best behavior. So join me, the mayor of the city, for the latest progress report! Starting out our report in the residential area of town, there were quite a few residents hanging out on their porches this week. Why? We’re on sasquatch watch! Yep, a rumor is spreading through the town that Bigfoot was spotted in the area, and now all the townsfolk are hoping to snag the first photo of him! What’s going on? Speaking of the Bigfoot rumors, one homeowner up near the mountains has begun constructing a trap to catch the creature. Ol’ Man Jenkins (as he’s affectionately known by the town) previously attempted to catch the werewolf that was raiding the village and was unsuccessful. Hmmm… In more regular news, there have been cases of delinquent youths trying to climb the lampposts in town at night. Because of this, we’re starting to see many of them lean and lose structural integrity. Where are the parents?! The train depot The town square was hopping during my visit as the townspeople had started gearing up for the International Food & Wine Festival. In just a few days, we’ll see the square decorated with festival banners to match those around the World Showcase, so business owners are cleaning their storefronts and locals are hanging out to watch the action. Welcome to town square! We can’t wait to check out what happens here during the festival. Stay tuned to DFB for more updates from Disney World. Click Here to See More Tiny Train Town Adventures! 15. Although flying can be the most convenient way to get somewhere, say, like Disney World, it sometimes has its downsides. ©Air Canada First, there are often long security lines to deal with, although a little preparation…or TSA PreCheck…can help with that. Then, there are often delays, generally caused by weather, that you have no control over. Sometimes, though, an airline must suspend all flights due to other reasons, like technical issues or an employee strike. According to CNN, Air Canada did just that — suspended all flights — due to a flight attendant strike. More than 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants went on strike this morning after a deadline to reach a deal with the airline passed. Shortly after that, Air Canada announced that it would suspend operations, meaning that if you had plans to fly with the airline today, they’ve been canceled. ©AirCanada The strike happened after a contract fight between Air Canada and the flight attendants’ union escalated as the union denied the airline’s request to seek arbitration directed by the government (which would have ended the strike and permitted a third party to decide the terms of a new contract). According to the union and the airline, the key issues are pay and unpaid work that flight attendants do when planes aren’t in the air. Air Canada also flies to Orlando International Airport Air Canada operates around 700 flights per day, and the complete shutdown of Air Canada could affect around 130,000 people per day, leaving many passengers stranded. Even if a tentative deal is reached, it could take up to a week to fully restart operations. Those whose travel will be impacted can request a full refund on the airline’s website or mobile app. Air Canada also stated it would offer alternative travel options through other airlines, if possible, but warned it could not guarantee immediate rebooking because this is happening during the summer travel peak. ©Air Canada Stay tuned to DFB for more. 17. Disney Cruise Line fans, we have a new ship on the horizon that is getting ready to set sail, and we got a special look at one of the restaurants. ©Disney The NEW Disney Destiny sets sail on November 20, 2025! The Destiny will offer 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean during her inaugural season, with voyages stopping at one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s destinations — Castaway Cay and the new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. With the Hero and Villains theme of the ship, we will be getting new restaurants, lounges, shows, and more! We got to try some of the food at one of the new restaurants coming: Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King. Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is a brand-new dinner and a show coming to the Disney Destiny. It will bring the amazing songs and story to life while you and your family enjoy dinner. Classic music from the movie’s soundtrack, fun, new mashups, and the story of Simba will be performed live by musicians in full The Lion King costumes. ©Disney When we went to a preview of the Disney Destiny, we were able to sample some of the amazing dishes that will be served here. We have to say, we were blown away by the flavors and dishes. You’ll find African-inspired cuisine at this restaurant. There was one dessert that we have not stopped thinking about, and we have to tell you about it. Warm Chocolate Malva Pudding The Warm Chocolate Malva Pudding stole our hearts. It’s a sticky bread pudding that has a toffee flavor, and if that’s not good enough, they serve it with a scoop of ice cream on top and a wafer. Now, when you sail with Disney Cruise, your rotational dining is included in your price, and you can also order as much as you want from that restaurant. So if you see us on our third Malva Pudding, just know that it is, in fact, THAT good! ©Disney There will be so much more aboard this new ship in addition to Pride Lands! Guests can experience a new Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired lounge, Cask and Cannon. Cruella de Vil will get her very own piano bar, De Vil’s Piano Lounge. The first-ever Doctor Strange-themed lounge, the Sanctum, will be devoted to the mystical arts. The Sanctum ©DisneyCruiseLine We can’t wait to set sail on this ship soon. 18. Disney World is named “The Most Magical Place on Earth” for a reason, but let’s be honest — those attraction lines? Yeah, those are often FAR from magical. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Disney is a crowded place most days, and that means attraction wait times get LONG. It’s not uncommon to see wait times over an hour, sometimes an hour and a half, and for some attractions, wait times above two hours are not surprising. When you’ve only got a limited amount of time in the park, though, how can you make sure you make the most of your time and AVOID spending hours in line when you can? Sure, you can buy Disney’s Lightning Lane service to skip the lines, but if you’re traveling on a budget or just want to avoid the stress of booking them, here are our top three tips for getting on some of the most popular rides with lower wait times that don’t cost an extra cent! If a Ride Temporarily Closes, That Could Actually Be Your Golden Ticket It sounds a little backwards, we know, but it’s true. Oftentimes (but not EVERY time) a ride unexpectedly closes only for a short period of time — sometimes that’s half an hour, sometimes it’s two hours. However, our suggestion is to watch that ride on your My Disney Experience App like a hawk (even better if you can be watching it in person, but don’t waste your day doing so!), and head to the attraction the moment you see it back up! Slinky Dog Dash Personally, this worked like a charm for me in Toy Story Land one time. Slinky Dog Dash was down when I got out of Toy Story Mania, so I got in the short line for Alien Swirling Saucers. In line, Slinky Dog Dash started testing again, and it was back up when I got off Alien Swirling Saucers — I only waited in a 25-minute line that doubled behind me within five minutes of getting in line. Those few minutes count, trust us! We know, it’s a little annoying to be staring at your phone every few minutes, which is why we suggest staying near the attraction if you can ride other things in the area or get something to eat while you wait, so you don’t feel like you’re wasting your time. TL;DR: don’t completely abandon the area when a ride closes. You never know when it might reopen! Riding Popular Attractions at the End Of The Day is RISKY Wait times often dip towards the end of the day for most attractions, but this is especially true with popular rides like Cosmic Rewind, Flight of Passage, Test Track, and Rise of the Resistance. What do all of these rides have in common? They often report 60+ minute wait times, and are all located mostly indoors, so you won’t be seeing the night sky the whole time you ride. These rides often experience a drop in wait time during the last two hours of the day, but this is a dangerous strategy! Flight of Passage Rides often have issues and need to close, which can happen just as easily at the end of the day. That means there’s always a possibility the ride could close two hours before the park closes and never reopen for the day. Therefore, we don’t recommend this strategy for people who feel their whole day will be ruined if they don’t get on this ride, or if it’s your first visit and you’re trying to do all you can. Instead, use this strategy when you’ve ridden the attraction at some point before, so you won’t be totally devastated if you can’t ride. Rise of the Resistance Additionally, this strategy is NOT recommended for outdoor popular attractions like TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, or Slinky Dog Dash — riding these at night can be a whole different experience that lots of people seek out, so those wait times often get higher at night. Parades and Fireworks Are Your Best Friends in Magic Kingdom Over in Magic Kingdom, parades happen 1–2 times a day (depending on the time of year — check your My Disney Experience App on the day of your visit!), and fireworks will happen once at the end of the day. These are some of your BEST times to ride attractions with shorter wait times, because everyone will be staking out a spot for the entertainment! TRON Lightcycle / Run Now, this is especially true for attractions that are more family-centered that get high wait times, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (except some people try to ride while the fireworks are going on, it’s a really epic view), Pirates of the Caribbean, or Peter Pan’s Flight. And don’t be fooled if the wait time hasn’t changed on the app or the sign — I once rode TRON during the Festival of Fantasy parade with a 70-minute wait, but really only waited 20! 19. If you visit Disney World or plan on getting onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship, one thing you’ll need to be aware of ahead of your vacation is the weather, especially this time of year. ©NHC That’s because it’s hurricane season and tropical storms and hurricanes could affect the weather in Florida (to the point that Disney World closes), as well as weather in the Atlantic Ocean, which would affect cruises with itineraries there. Well, right now, Hurricane Erin has been upgraded to a Category 4 storm in the Atlantic Ocean, which you’ll need to know about if you’re planning on visiting the Florida coast or taking a cruise to the Caribbean. According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Erin is now a Category 4 storm. That means it’s a storm with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph with higher gusts, which is capable of causing massive damage, as well as significant risk to life and property. The hurricane is expected to continue to strengthen today, “followed by fluctuations in intensity through the weekend.” ©NHC The National Hurricane Center is also predicting that swells generated by the hurricane will affect portions of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, and the Turks and Caicos Islands through the weekend. Those swells will spread to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the east coast of the United States early next week. This will create ocean conditions that could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents. ©NHC This means that if you’re taking a cruise in that part of the Atlantic Ocean, you may have already received communication from your cruise company that your cruise will be detoured to avoid the storm, changing your cruise itinerary. If you are setting sail soon, you’ll want to make sure you stay updated on how the hurricane could affect your vacation. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 7 Hurricane Season Tips from a Disney World Expert Who Lives in Florida Will Hurricane Erin affect your travel plans? Share with us in the comments! 22. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is finally here, and we can’t wait to celebrate! Time to celebrate! We’re at the party allll night so we can tell you all about what to expect this year. We’re covering all the merchandise, entertainment, treats, and everything in between, but a lot of guests come to this party to meet some of their favorite rare characters. If you’re hoping to meet as many characters as you can, or just catch your ultimate favorite, here’s a full list of all the Disney characters you can meet at the party! Main Street, U.S.A. While you’re walking into the party on Main Street, U.S.A., you can say a quick hello to iconic Villain, Cruella de Vil! We absolutely loved our interaction with her — getting to have her naturally interact with guests on their way into the party truly made it feel so immersive. We’ve been hoping Disney would add more interactions like this instead of just meet and greets, and this feels like a great step in the right direction. NOTE: Cruella roates party introductions with Mother Gothel from Tangled, so keep your eyes out — you never know who you might see as the party commences! Hi Cruella! You can also find Mother Gothel in the Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade, which runs twice per party night. She is a WICKED addition to the party! Mother Gothel At Main Street’s Town Square Theater, you can say hello to Jack Skellington and Sally! This line gets LONG each year, so you’ll want to allow tons of time to meet them! When we stopped by right around 6 PM, the line to meet them was 90 minutes long, and we had a feeling it would only get longer throughout the night. The wait to meet Jack and Sally! If you’re a big fan of them, though, and meeting them is a high priority, we recommend getting in line as soon as you can when the park opens at 4 PM, going during parade times, or waiting until the tail end of the night. However, those aren’t the only characters you can meet here — you can see Mickey and Minnie as well! Mickey and Minnie! They also get some pretty high wait times, but not as high as Jack and Sally. Again, we recommend seeing them during the parades. Tomorrowland Love Stitch? We do too, so head on over to Tomorrowland to say hello to him, dressed in his amazing Elvis costume. Elvis Stitch! We don’t think it’s a party without saying hello to him, so he’s always on our list. Fantasyland Fantasyland is FULL of character meet and greets all over the land! You’ll be able to find: Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella (near Pinocchio Village Haus) Belle (near Enchanted Tales with Belle) Gaston (close to the backside of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train) Maleficent (Princess Fairytale Hall Queue) Evil Queen (Princess Fairytale Hall Queue) Prince Eric and Ariel (Under The Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid) Ariel and Eric! Pluto (Outside Storybook Circus Tent) Daisy and Goofy (Pete’s Silly Sideshow) Daisy and Goofy! Friends from Alice in Wonderland (near Mad Tea Party) Winnie The Pooh Friends (near The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh) Donald Duck in his Halloween Costume (near Mickey’s PhilharMagic) Frontierland If you love Haunted Mansion as much as we do, then you can’t miss the Hitchhiking Ghosts! They appear on the Frontierland Balcony and the Diamond Horseshoe Stage (the location varies throughout the evening). Hitchhiking Ghosts at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party You’ll have to look up to see them — they’re extra ghostly in the moonlight! Oh, and look out for Romeo McGrowl by the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, too, along with Shaker, Wendell, and Big Al. Adventureland Over in Adventureland, don’t forget to say hey to Jack Sparrow, meeting guests outside to the right of Pirates of the Caribbean. Jack Sparrow! Near the Bazaar, you can also meet different friends from Aladdin, such as Aladdin himself, Jasmine, Abu, and Genie! Jasmine and Genie Liberty Square If you head into the queue for the Haunted Mansion, you’ll find some of the beloved happy haunts from the ride — Madame Carlotta and Butler Broome. They hang out in the Haunted Mansion Graveyard, so be sure to pay them a visit! 23. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially kicked off at Magic Kingdom, and we’re here on the first night taking in all the sights, sounds, frights, and, of course, all the FOOD! Yum!! We’re headed over to The Friar’s Nook to check out the exclusive eats they’re serving up during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Are they worth your time and money during this after-hours event? Let’s find out! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event. The event runs on select nights from August 15th through October 31st, 2025! If you ask us, the exclusive and limited-time eats are some of the BEST parts about this party, so we headed to The Friar’s Nook to check out what’s cooking during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Friar’s Nook First things first, we picked up the Haunting Jalapeño Ranch Tots for $10.49. These are tots topped with black bean chili, cheddar cheese sauce, and jalapeño ranch. Haunting Jalapeño Ranch Tots These would be great on a cool, fall day in the parks, but NOT for summer! The chili on top is pretty traditional with some meat and beans and a classic chili flavor, but no spice. However, there is also a jalapeño ranch sauce that’s creamy, herby, and has just a bit of a kick. The liquid cheddar cheese sauce on top was delicious, and the tots were nice and crispy — we were impressed with how well they held up with the chili and sauces. Overall, these were tasty and a great portion of food, but we suggest waiting until it’s cooler to grab them. Great for a cooler evening! We also went to grab the Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts, but they were sold out! This can happen during the party, so you’ll want to grab the highest items on your list earlier in the night. If you’re thinking of adding them to your must-try list, these are apple cider doughnuts rolled in apple cider sugar and drizzled with caramel sauce. We’ve seen these at Friar’s Nook in the past, but Disney likes to update the look every now and then! This time, they’ve got red sugar! Party offerings! We’ll be bringing you LIVE updates from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, so keep checking back here. In the meantime, make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 24. It’s time to get all not-so-scary, Disney fans! Captain Hook Treasure Whoopie Pie Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is back, and we are here in Magic Kingdom to check out all of the festivities! While the parade, entertainment, and trick-or-treating might be at the top of your list, the snacks are at the top of ours. Come with us to check out three new snacks at this year’s special ticketed event. There is so much happening at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! There are characters to see, rides to enjoy, and SO. MANY. SNACKS. There are actually over 45, if you can believe it! Right now, we’re stopping by The Pinocchio Village Haus to grab three party-exclusive snacks. Ready? Let’s eat! Pinocchio Village Haus First up is the new Phantasmal Fried Pumpkin Ravioli served with black garlic aïoli! This ravioli will cost you $9.49, but is it worth it? Phantasmal Fried Pumpkin Ravioli We were hyped to try this, but while we still really enjoyed them, they were a little too crispy, and it was a bit too hard to cut through them. With that said, the filling was delicious and had lots of great pumpkin flavor. The black garlic aioli tasted a lot like a tasty truffle aioli. It’s not perfect, but we liked this overall. A closer look Next, we tried the Undead Garlic-Parmesan Chicken Strips for $10.99! It’s fried chicken strips tossed in garlic-parmesan sauce, parmesan, and parsley, and it is brand-new at this year’s party. Undead Garlic Parmesan Chicken Strips These are your classic Disney tenders with thicker breading and juicy chicken on the inside. They’re topped with a very garlicky sauce that also has a bit of cheesiness to it and some herbs on top, as well. Garlic is definitely the main flavor here, so you gotta like garlic, otherwise you simply won’t care for this. Fortunately, we love garlic, so these definitely did the trick! Juicy chicken Finally, we grabbed the Captain Hook Treasure Whoopie Pie! This one costs $5.49 and is a chocolate whoopie pie with caramel filling and fruit-flavored cereal treasure. Captain Hook Treasure Whoopie Pie This is filled with a buttercream frosting and some caramel filling in the center. Ours was very sweet, and, unfortunately, we wouldn’t say the flavors are anything special. The fruit cereal on top is also hard to taste. The pie does have some major things going for it, however, and that includes its moist cake, creamy frosting, and silky caramel. If you like milk chocolate, take a bite out of the skull on top! Overall, this treat is pretty average. The cake is so moist! While we’re on the subject, though, can we talk about the similarities between this new treat and an old favorite of ours, the Carrot Cake Cookie at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It’s like the Carrot Cake Cookie got a Halloween makeover, right?! Carrot Cake Cookie All three of the snacks are only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so if you’re looking to try them, you’d better grab that special event ticket. This year’s party takes place on select nights from August 15th until October 31st, so there’s plenty of time to grab your costume and party the night away. We can’t wait to try even more snacks as the night continues. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Not-So-Scary reviews, tips, and tricks! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Are you going to this year’s party? Tell us in the comments! 25. We can all agree that the best part of Halloween is the snacks, especially here at Disney World. We try not to get distracted by all the candy because there are limited-time treats that we just can’t get enough of — we love a sweet treat, after all. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party There are even exclusive snacks only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is a separately ticketed after-hours event. Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square has two snacks we knew we had to try during our party. Let’s see if it’s a trick or a treat! We started with the Creepy Kimchi Corn Dog for $10.29. This is a hand-dipped corn dog rolled in malt vinegar and scallions with Hades relish and kimchi-mayonnaise dipping sauce. Creepy Kimchi Corn Dog This snack is new this year, and we really enjoyed it — more than we thought we would! It had a nice pop of heat that wasn’t too much, as it didn’t linger too long, which we appreciated. It was sweet and savory at the same time, but it wasn’t so different that we’d want to come to this spot just to grab it. However, we’ve heard other people raving about it, so if you’re a kimchi and corndog fan, check it out! People seem to love it! For something sweet, we tried the Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae for $8.99. This is a pumpkin funnel cake (yum) topped with pumpkin gelato, whipped cream, pumpkin-spiced caramel, marshmallow pumpkins, and sprinkles (YUM!). It’s also new this year, and it was a pumpkin spice explosion! If you love pumpkin spice, this is absolutely a must-buy for you, and it’s a bonus if you’re also a big funnel cake fan. Pumpkin-spiced Funnel Cake Sundae Overall, you’ll want to add Sleepy Hollow to your list during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Remember that party food usually starts around 7 PM, so you’ll want to have your snack list ready to go to make the most of your party night. Keep following Disney Food Blog for more!
