  1. It’s officially Halloween season (at least by Disney rules), and you know what that means. It’s time to get spooky with some new merchandise. Now, a lot of that merchandise revolves around Disney Villains, and we are HERE for it. Bath & Body Works Disney Villains Collection Well, it’s almost as if Bath & Body Works read our minds because two of Disney’s most iconic villains are the stars of a brand new collection coming out soon: Evil Queen and Maleficent. Yep, a brand new collection of scents is coming out celebrating these two CLASSIC Disney villains. Following Bath & Body Works fun Disney Princess collection, the company is now turning its attention to Disney Villains. Now, you’ll be able to grab this collection in stores and online on September 3rd, although Bath & Body Works Loyalty members will get early access online on August 26th through 27th. This collection celebrates The Evil Queen and Maleficent. Villains! Let’s talk about the scents. The Maleficent scented items are inspired by “sinister plum, midnight berries, and mystical woods.” This scent isn’t very sweet, and the woodsy part of the scent is more forward, similar to sandalwood. It’s not overtly fall-oriented, so it works year-round because it’s so mild. You can get this scent in several forms, including a candle with a lid that changes from her into her dragon form… Maleficent candle …body cream and body wash. Maleficent body cream and body wash We LOOOOOOOVVVVEEE the Maleficent Raven Soap Dispenser. This is EPIC. It looks just like the movie! The Evil Queen scent is “dark red apple, vanilla suede, and wicked pear.” The apple is the predominant smell, so it’s giving autumn vibes, but it almost smells sort of like green sour apple candy. Think sour candy in terms of the smell here — we really like it! We wouldn’t think The Evil Queen would smell any other way, right? This one is available in a variety of forms, too, including a body cream… Evil Queen body cream …a fine fragrance mist… Evil Queen fiine fragrance mist …a diamond shimmer mist… Evil Queen diamond shimmer mist …foaming hand soap… Evil Queen foaming hand soap …Wallflower plug-in… Wallflower plug-in …Wallflower plug-in refill… Refill …and…laundry detergent? Yep, you can get Evil Queen laundry detergent. Yes, we want our clothes to smell like apples! Evil Queen laundry detergent! We also think this Poison Apple candle holder is probably the coolest candle holder to ever exist. Coolest candle holder EVER But check out this little mirror and trinkets box, too! What a fun way to Evil Queen up your house, right? Magic Mirror… We’re so excited about this collection because it’s about time the Villains got some Bath & Body Works representation, right? See you all on September 3rd because we’re all going to be smelling wickedly wonderful. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 2. Like a magic spell in the dark of night, a villainous new collaboration is coming and we’re screaming with fright – I mean, delight! Today, Bath & Body Works announced a spellbinding new collection featuring two brand new fragrances inspired by two of the most iconic Disney Villains, The Evil Queen and Maleficent. Inspired by Disney’s enchanting storytelling, these scents create an immersive experience that whisks your senses away to a world of dark magic and mystery. The collection is available online August 26 and 27 for Bath & Body Works loyalty members and launches in stores and online at bathandbodyworks.com starting September 3. The fabulously fierce 39-product assortment includes: Fine fragrance mist Body wash Body cream Lip gloss Candles Hand soap Sanitizer Laundry care Decorative home accessories These wickedly irresistible scents will have you ready to embrace your villain era this fall. Pick your potion and discover which Disney Villain-inspired fragrance has you under its spell. The Evil Queen The Evil Queen-inspired fragrance enchants with a captivating blend of Dark Red Apple, Wicked Pear, and Vanilla Suede—a scent that’s fresh, warm, and undeniably addictive. Dark Red Apple evokes the sweetness of forbidden orchards, while Vanilla Suede wraps you in soft, velvety warmth, like slipping into a dreamy, enchanted cocoon. Wicked Pear adds a juicy, crisp layer that cools the senses and leaves behind a refreshing, whisper-like trail.  Maleficent The Maleficent-inspired fragrance excites with a rich, mysterious fusion of Sinister Plum, Midnight Berries, and Mystical Woods. Sinister Plum layers deep plum nectar and skin with a hint of dark rose, creating a complex, alluring base. Midnight Berries introduce a bewitching twist—black tea notes swirled into a vibrant medley of blackberry, strawberry, and raspberry. Finally, Mystical Woods brings it all together with shimmering cedarwood and creamy cashmere musk, leaving a sultry, unforgettable impression.  We can’t wait for you to pick your potion and let your scent unveil the Evil Queen or Maleficent in you. 3. Oogie Boogie Bash has officially begun at Disney California Adventure! This after-hours event is a full night of Halloween fun with special snacks and all of your favorite villains. Halloween at Disney California Adventure We’re here celebrating the first night of this festive party and can’t wait to share it all with you! And, speaking of your favorite villains, we met two additions to this year’s event — and let’s just say things are getting very spooky out there. Disney previously announced that a NEW villain would be joining this year’s event, and we’ve got a first look! Disney had shared a video on their Instagram page teasing a new character, and we spotted one of Syndrome’s Zero Point Energy Gloves emerging from out of the fog — and it looks like we were right! We got the chance to meet Syndrome at Oogie Boogie Bash! There’s Syndrome! You can find Syndrome on the Syndrome Treat Trail which is near Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier. And we definitely weren’t the only people who were excited about seeing him! After we got the chance to see him, we noticed that his line was all the way over by Goofy’s Sky School. He is quite the popular guy at Oogie Boogie Bash! Syndrome Maleficent has also made her return to the party! Arguably the ultimate Disney Villain, you can find her on the Maleficent Treat Trail which is near Grizzly Peak Trail. Maleficent! She was looking frightfully spooky and marvelous! We are so excited to see these two new villains join the line-up at Oogie Boogie Bash. It was so much fun seeing both of them and we are glad they are part of the event this year! Maleficent Oogie Boogie Bash is taking place on select nights from August 17th to October 31st in 2025. Tickets are on sale now — prices start at $139 per person and go up to $199 per person, depending on the date you choose to visit. A major draw for this event is the immersive Treat Trails. Each of these pathways includes spots where you and your group can go trick-or-treating, but they’re also home to Disney Villains! As you walk by and snag your candy, you can snap photos and interact with some very cool and incredibly rare characters. Oogie Boogie at Oogie Boogie Bash We’ll be bringing you even more coverage of Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure! 4. Halloween time is in full swing at Disney World! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially kicked off on August 15th, and the event runs on select nights through October 31st. In addition to trick-or-treating, character meet and greets, and special entertainment, you can also grab a variety of treats throughout Magic Kingdom. Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts There are more than 45 exclusive Halloween-themed treats to try, and we want to make sure you spend your party time the best way possible. So, we are trying the exclusive treats and bringing you along with us! Our next stop is The Friar’s Nook, so let’s get going. We are making a stop at The Friar’s Nook to try the Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts. We tried to grab these guys on the first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but they were out by the time we got over to the restaurant to try them. But we are back for another round, and this time we got the chance to try this treat! The Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts cost $6.49. They are apple cider doughnuts rolled in apple cider sugar and drizzled with caramel sauce. Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts Now, Disney is saying that these are new, but we have seen a couple iterations of a similar treat already. Apple Cider Doughnuts first made their appearance at The Friar’s Nook coated in green sugar, and then a bit later they were changed to being rolled in white sugar. Now it appears that they are taking a third form being rolled in red sugar! Apple Cider Doughnuts available during the day at The Friar’s Nook We are happy to report that they are still just as tasty being coated in red sugar! These are little pillows of fall flavor, and we can’t get enough of them. The doughnuts had a bit of a crispy curst on the outside, while being soft and fluffy on the inside. The apple cider sugar added a bit of spice, a bit of apple flavor, and a bit of sweetness. Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts While it might look a bit dense on the inside, it is actually surprisingly light and fluffy with a light apple cider flavor to the doughnut itself. Then you top it all off with a drizzle of caramel sauce. It adds even more sweetness and a hint of buttery, gooey caramel flavor. We kind of wish they had the caramel sauce on the side so you can decide how much you want, but overall, we are huge fans of these doughnuts. However, there isn’t a big difference between the Apple Cider Doughnuts offered during the daytime and these party exclusive doughnuts. So, we don’t think you need to prioritize grabbing these during the party if you are strapped for time! Not-So-Poison Apple Doughnuts Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World food news! 5. We’re getting spooky at the Magic Kingdom! If you’ve ever been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you might have stopped to watch some of the incredible entertainment, like the fireworks show. Should you snag a seat at the dessert party? While the fireworks show, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, is available with your party ticket, you can upgrade to a special experience to take your fireworks viewing to the next level. Come join us for Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace in Magic Kingdom! Atmosphere You’ll start your dessert party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant to the right of Main Street, U.S.A. This large restaurant will host your food along with your viewing of the fireworks show. You can check in 1.5 hours before the start of the fireworks, so you can enjoy all your treats before and during the fireworks. You can stock up on tons of sweet treats and a drink and feel like the coolest person around while watching the fireworks. Tomorrowland Terrace To experience this, you’ll want to make sure you book an advanced reservation. You can do this directly on the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. You can usually book 60 days in advance, and keep in mind that a limited number of seats are available each night. Menu For the event, there are set options for treats and drinks that you can pick up during your viewing. You’ll be able to dine on “delicious desserts such as chocolate-dipped strawberries, mini cannoli, and chef-inspired creations” along with “a variety of cheeses” and beverages, including beer and wine for those over 21. Treats are served buffet style! No matter which night you choose, the prices are the same: $119 for those 10 and older and $75 for guests 3 to 9. This does not include tax and gratuity. You’ll also need a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket for the same night of your dessert party, which can range from $119 to $229, so this event comes with a price tag. Is it worth it? Dessert buffet Drinks We grabbed a glass of champagne, and it was the perfect start to our dessert party. It was served warmed, but we still thought it was tasty. There is a limit to two alcoholic beverages per person, so definitely keep that in mind if you are looking at booking the dessert party! Cheers to fireworks! You can choose from a variety of alcoholic beverages, including wines and beers… Alcoholic beverages …as well as non-alcoholic beverages like lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and POG juice. Beverage options Eats The treats are all you can eat, and they are served buffet style. The food options are definitely heavy on the sweets, but you can grab some crackers and cheese or Trick or Treat Mix if you are looking for a savory option. Amongst the buffet, you can find your classic bakery items like cookies and brownies, and then there are also some specialty items to choose from. During Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party, you can even grab some fun, Halloween-themed desserts! Cheese, crackers, and fruit Some of the options include Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Chocolate Silk Pie, Pumpkin Cream Puff, Candy Corn Verrine, Key Lime-Blueberry Mousse, Vanilla Green Velvet Cupcake, Caramel Apple Crepe, Devil’s Chocolate Pudding, and more. Most of the desserts are bite-sized which means you can try even more of them! Candy Corn Verrine and Key Lime-Blueberry Mousse We started off with a plate of cheeses and crackers, and we have to say, these really hit the spot! We likely needed a bit of salt, but we devoured this plate. It is your classic cheese and crackers, but we definitely enjoyed it. There is a variety of cheese and crackers, so you can mix and match and choose your favorites. Cheese and crackers We also grabbed a Caramel Apple Crepe. This crepe was thick and while it had the flavor of caramel apple, we weren’t the biggest fans. It was almost too much, and it ended up tasting a bit like eating a candle instead of a crepe. Caramel Apple Crepe We also loaded up on other dessert offerings! We decided to grab a little bit of everything, focusing on the more specialty Halloween items. Our plate had a great assortment of options, and we thought these desserts looked so cute. However, we were a bit disappointed in them overall. There were a lot of pudding textures throughout the desserts. If you are craving a good pudding, you will likely be very happy, but we wish there was a bit more variety. Desserts However, we did enjoy some of the desserts like the Oogie Boogie Cookies and Cream Cupcake and the Chocolate Silk Pie. These had your classic flavors, but they were the favorites that we tried. The cannolis were also tasty, although they were a bit soggy. But we did appreciate that they were cold! You can grab whatever you want! We were really excited about the desserts, but we ended up being pretty underwhelmed by the flavors and options. They do look pretty darn cute, though! And we are about to get to the best part — the fireworks! Fireworks During the party, entertainment is one of the most popular offerings, and with back-to-back shows like the Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and of course, the fireworks, which can lead to quite a bit of chaos in front of Cinderella Castle. We loved having this option to avoid some of the crowds! It was nice to know that we had a spot guaranteed and didn’t need to line up early to secure a spot. The view of Cinderella Castle With the dessert party, you get to enjoy the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show from the comfort of Tomorrowland Terrace with all your goodies. It was definitely a much more relaxing experience to be at a reserved table and out of the chaos that can happen around Cinderella Castle. You get a good view of the fireworks, and you can easily hear the soundtrack! Honestly, we wish you could pay just for the reserved seating and skip over the all-you-can-eat desserts. Fireworks! Nosh or Not You should add this to your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party if… You’ve been to the Halloween party before and are looking for a different experience. You LOVE desserts and sweet treats. You prefer reserved fireworks viewing so you don’t have to worry about securing a spot. You should pass on this experience if… You want to prioritize other elements of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary since this event can take a lot of time. You don’t want to spend an additional $100 per person, which can add up quickly, and doesn’t include your party ticket. You are wanting options for savory treats or have picky eaters when it comes to sweets. Overall While this experience is on the costly side, we think this is such a fun way to take your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to the next level. The party can usually be chaotic while trying to accomplish everything, and we loved knowing the fireworks weren’t something we had to worry about. The food wasn’t as great as we were hoping it would be, but we did really enjoy watching the fireworks while sipping on our champagne! We feel like the main draw for this experience is definitely the reserved viewing for the fireworks. While we’re still dreaming about our magical experience, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney tips and tricks. 6. A BRAND-NEW lounge is opening in Disney World soon! We have been eagerly awaiting the grand opening of The Beak and Barrel on August 29th, 2025. However, it has been rough seas for reservations for this highly anticipated tavern themed to the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The Beak and Barrel ©Disney Reservations were initially supposed to open on August 14th, but the reservation system crashed, and we spent most of the day hoping we could get in. Later in the day, though, Disney confirmed that reservations would not be opening on August 14th as expected and instead would open during the week of August 18th. A bit vague, but now we know EXACTLY when reservations will be opening for The Beak and Barrel! Reservations for The Beak and Barrel will be opening on August 20th, 2025, at 7 PM ET. Yep, 7 PM not 7 AM. This is a bit of a change from when most Advance Dining Reservations open, which is 7 AM. However, Disney might be trying to lessen the demand on their system a bit by opening the reservations in the evening instead of when everyone is trying to book everything. ©Disney We are sending lots of pixie dust that August 20th at 7 PM will be a successful attempt at opening reservations for The Beak and Barrel. You already know that we will be in the trenches trying to score a reservation, too! We are also sending all the positive vibes to everyone else who is also trying to score a reservation for this new lounge. The Beak and Barrel construction walls We can’t wait to try out this new tavern in Magic Kingdom! This new lounge will continue the story of Pirates of the Caribbean, and it follows Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, who established this “lively pirate pub.” Her first mate, Rummy, will be the tavern’s quartermaster and will keep an eye on the lounge from a roost at the top of the pub. ©Disney The menu features a variety of cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and a few options for food. You can even grab the Kraken’s Catch which is octopus tentacles marinated in lemon and lime juice with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and piquillo pepper-almond foam. ©Disney Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss out! Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! Learn more about what to expect at The Beak and Barrel! Are you trying to snag a reservation on August 20th? Let us know in the comments! 7. We’re back at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party trying MORE of the special treats at the party! We’re back at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! This time, we’re headed over to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies to check out the new ice cream treat. This spot usually doesn’t stand out to us, but let’s just say that this treat NEEDS to be on the menu 24/7, because it’s better than anything we’ve ever had here! During the party, you can grab the Candy Bowl Sundae for $7.79. This is Salted Caramel Soft-serve topped with Chocolate Cone Dip, SNICKERS bar pieces, TWIX cookie bar pieces, and M&M’S Milk Chocolate Candies. They don’t call it a “candy bowl” for nothing! Candy Bowl Sundae The salted caramel soft serve has a strong flavor, but also has almost a mocha adjacent flavor, so it almost tastes a bit like coffee (not enough, though, that people who dislike coffee wouldn’t like it). The chocolate dip is what really takes this to the next level. Not only does it harden on top of the ice cream, but before it does, it drips down the bowl and hardens on the side, creating a different texture in nearly every bite. We can’t get enough! It’s also certainly shareable, especially with all the candy pieces inside of it, which makes the price even better. If you’re a fan of chocolate or salted caramel, we absolutely recommend grabbing this, and we honestly hope to see a version of it on the menu year-round! 8. Boo…to YOU! Boo to you, and you, and you, and you…Happy Halloween! We are back at Magic Kingdom for even more Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party fun. Of course, that also means we are trying out even more food, so you know what items are a must-get and what items you might want to skip. Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event that happens on select evenings through October 31st. This family-friendly Halloween event features trick-or-treating, rare character meet and greets, exclusive entertainment, and over 45 themed treats you can grab. Let’s head over to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe for a party-exclusive item! We are trying out a NEW item over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. May we introduce the Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy, which you can grab for $6.49. This drink is non-alcoholic and ONLY available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It is frozen apple cider topped with cinnamon whipped cream and sour gummy candy. Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy We’re not gonna lie, we were a bit surprised by the color, but let’s dig in! The slushy had lots of green apple flavor. It reminded us of the Jolly Rancher green apple flavor, without being quite as sweet. It was a bit more on the sour side. Essentially, it tastes like a frozen apple juice, which we are here for! The cinnamon whipped cream had lots of cinnamon flavor and it kind of tasted like the frosting they put on top of the brown sugar cinnamon pop tart. Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy The sour gummies didn’t end up adding a whole lot for us beyond looking pretty cute on top. They were sitting in the cinnamon whipped cream, and we aren’t sure the flavors of sour gummy worms and cinnamon whipped cream work very well together. But it’s cute with the whole apple theme. Not a Poisoned Apple Slushy We definitely recommend mixing this slushy together with the whipped cream as it gives it a more apple cider flavor. Also, if you are really excited about this drink, we also recommend bringing your own straw as it is a bit hard to mix with the paper straw! Overall, we enjoyed this slushy, and it definitely tasted like we were drinking a frozen apple cider once we got it mixed together. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! 9. Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash is here! Oogie Boogie Bash The special ticketed event in Disney California Adventure is easily one of the most popular Disney events of the year! It sells out quickly each year, and this year was no different! The event has special characters, exclusive snacks, limited-time entertainment, and more. Before we head into this year’s party, we gotta check out the full Oogie Boogie Bash map! It’s time to party with the biggest Disney baddies of them all! Oogie Boogie Bash is an extra-ticket event that runs on select nights from August 17th through October 31st, 2025. Oogie Boogie check-in At the party, you can find Trick-or-Treat Trails with Villains along the way, Disney character sightings, and “not-too-spooky” decorations in addition to special entertainment like the Frightfully Fun Parade. What makes this party even more exciting is that guests of any age are allowed to wear costumes, which is normally not allowed in the parks! Decor! Right now, we’re taking a deep dive into the 2025 Oogie Boogie Bash Party Map! Event Guide The front of the map has the year and time of the event along with the Oogie Boogie Bash logo. Park maps are one of our favorite souvenirs, especially because they are FREE! The info on the front makes it a great keepsake to look back on later. Inside the map, you can find ads for Zombies 4 and Halloween on Disney+, which is fun… but let’s talk about what we’re really here for! The food! This year, you can find bites at locations like: Flo’s V8 Cafe Award Wieners Cozy Cone Motel And you can also grab a Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor Sipper at a variety of locations around the park. Food & Novelty You can also find the full park map with the full guide to the event, with a list of the treat trails and other entertainment information like Villains Grove and the Frightfully Fun Parade. Event Guide If you look closer, there are icons on the map with numbers that represent the treat trails. There are also several camera icons on the map so you can find PhotoPass opportunities! 11. Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary celebration is still in full swing, and we’re loving checking out all the new snacks and drinks around the resort. 70th Celebration Acrylic Flute All the fun treats aren’t only found in Disneyland, though, because there are also loads of delicious options over in Disney California Adventure you don’t want to miss! In fact, you may overlook Hollywood Lounge and its offerings, but we’re here to tell you that giving these 70th Anniversary items a chance is a great option. Atmosphere Hollywood Lounge is located behind Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, and it’s home to themed drinks that rotate depending on the season. There are both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options, so everyone can join in on the fun! Hollywood Lounge Food is also available to order at the lounge, though, so if you need something to eat, don’t forget to take a look at what they have. It’s possible this area may not be around for much longer, as Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will soon be closing to make way for the new Avatar land coming to the park. Check it out! There’s not a TON of seating nearby, but the little that is available is mostly shaded, and that earns some major points in our book. Shaded seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Currently, they’ve got lots of summer-themed drinks on the menu, as well as one food option — Chicharrones. However, when we were in person, there were more items listed on their physical menu for the 70th Anniversary! It’s important to note that you can order the food at Hollywood Lounge, but you’ll pick it up at Studio Catering Co. ©Disney This spot is definitely more well-known for its drinks, not its food, but we recommend stopping by regardless to see what’s on the menu during your visit. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Western-Style Loaded Potato for $9.29. This is a Creamy Baked Potato with Garlic Butter, Charro-Style Beans, Shredded Cheese, Sour Cream, Green Onions, and Sliced Jalapeños. It’s VERY large and you can very much taste the garlic, which we liked. It’s a very solid baked potato, and we loved the amount of sour cream and cheese on top. It’s going to be very filling, and if you’re a fan of baked potatoes, it’s totally worth the grab! Western Style Loaded Potato We also grabbed the Lomo Saltado Burrito for $13.99, which is Peruvian-inspired lomo saltado stir-fry, shoestring French fries, and Serrano-lime rice, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla, served with Serrano hot sauce. Lomo Saltado Burrito The meat here was nicely seasoned and cooked well, the rice had a great citrus flavor, and all the ingredients worked well together, but WOW is it hot! That heat lingers and really overpowers everything else. The shoestring fries were also thicker than we wanted, especially since we don’t think they added anything to the burrito. Inside the burrito Overall, we think $14 is EXPENSIVE for this one, but it is shareable, so if you enjoy spice, give it a try! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Celebration Cocktail for $19.50, which is made with Tequila, Rum, Vodka, and Glittery Blue Raspberry Lemonade, topped with Sprite® and garnished with a Cherry. Definitely stir this one up, as otherwise the flavors won’t mix well together, but the blue raspberry and lemonade are super apparent here! The Sprite gives it a seltzer texture, and overal,l this is a really nice summer libation that we recommend. Celebration Cocktail Finally, we grabbed the Disneyland 70th Celebration Acrylic Flute for $18, which is Sparkling Wine with Violet & Dragon Fruit Syrups and Lemon Juice Served in a Flute. First of all, the flute this is served in is GORGEOUS, and we loved the floral flavor of it, but we know it won’t be for everyone. Disneyland 70th Celebration Acrylic Flute The violet is the most prominent flavor, as the lemon is very subtle. The sparkling wine is very refreshing, and overall, this is the drink you’ll want to snap that photo of and post on Instagram to make your friends jealous back home. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a quick, unique drink You want to sit in a quieter spot in the park You want to experience this restaurant before it (potentially) goes away for good! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not into specialty drinks, alcoholic or not You won’t be in DCA You’re looking for a spot with more dining options Overall We think this is definitely a spot worth checking out, especially for the 70th Anniversary if you’re looking to grab that specialty flute, or you know you’re a fan of spice or baked potatoes. It’s also a good spot if you want something a little out of the way, because lots of people don’t even know this restaurant exists! Our Full Spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! 12. If you’re looking to add a little star power to your meal at Disney World, there’s one particular restaurant that rolls out the red carpet for a dining experience that’s equal parts whimsical and delicious. From the moment you step inside this glitzy, retro-inspired restaurant, you’re transported into a world where some of your favorite seasonal characters come to life—right at your table. I’ve been dining at Disney World character meals for a decade and for me, this is not just a meal—it’s a performance, a photo op, and a memory in the making all in one. Minnie! We recently stopped by Hollywood and Vine Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Hollywood & Vine offers a full buffet for all of its meals with an extra helping of FUN thanks to the presence of Disney characters! The best part about this restaurant is that you can visit two or more times in the same year, with completely different themes. Seasonal dining Minnie’s Seasonal Dine has taken over Hollywood & Vine as it changes throughout the year. Not only will the inside theming be notably different, but each of the characters, like Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Mickey, will be sporting different outfits depending on the time of the year you’re visiting. The theme when we visited was Summertime Dine. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, there’s a fun summer background or a photo op. Fun photo background There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant, with tables and chairs. Seating Some booth seats are also available. Some booth seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu As we mentioned briefly before, the main meal here is served as a buffet. Adults dining here for lunch or dinner can expect to pay $63, and children ages 3-9 are priced at $42. Disney World lists a partial menu on its website for everything that’s offered, and we want to point out that some things can change without notice based on availability. Here’s a look at the main menu offerings! ©Disney The restaurant also offers a few featured beverages and cocktails… ©Disney …wines… ©Disney …as well as craft and draft beers. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we think the buffet here is fantastic…y’all have been sleeping on the food here. The Tandoori Spiced Chicken is a favorite, though, if we had to choose. The Mexican corn is INCREDIBLE. It’s like an elote with the mayonnaise, Tajin, and all the spices — it all just comes together beautifully. We could eat an entire bowl of it. Tandoori Chicken and Mexican corn The grilled flank steak is also delicious. It’s well-seasoned and well-cooked. There’s just a lot of preparation that goes into it. You might want to ask what temperature it is, though, if you don’t like rare to medium. Grilled flank steak We also like the whipped sour cream and chive potatoes that had the redskins in it. They’re not quite as creamy and buttery as other mashed potatoes we’ve had, but we like that it’s a different take. The chili aioli salmon is phenomenal, and we would eat it every day if we could. The salmon is cooked so tenderly that it just slides off your fork and peels apart in your mouth so nicely. Then the aioli sauce is just so tasty. Whipped Sour Cream and Chive Potatoes and Chili Aoli Salmon We also tried the vegetable chili. It’s got red beans and chickpeas in it instead of meat, but it’s nice and savory. If you can get past the fact that it doesn’t contain meat, it’s a pretty decent chili. Vegetable Chili We also made sure to try some of the kid-friendly offerings, and there are plenty of things here for picky eaters. The mac and cheese is nice and creamy. The chicken tenders are the same as the regular seasoned chicken tenders. There are mini corn dogs, too, which kids are going to love. You don’t see that on many buffets, so that’s something different for kids to enjoy. Okay, so it’s us, we’re kids, because we love the mini corn dogs. The white rice is nice and sticky. It’s cooked perfectly, so it has a nice bite. The chicken drumstick was also well-cooked. Kids are going to be pleased with this buffet. Kid’s plate! Okay, let’s talk about the most important thing: DESSERT. The apple cobbler tasted more like a strudel to us because of its consistency. It’s got some dried oatmeal on top, though, for the cobbler part. But it still has a great cinnamon apple flavor. However, the oatmeal on top didn’t do it for us — we like a traditional doughy cobbler. Apple cobbler Y’all…the seasonal bread pudding was like HEAVEN. It has a nice icing, and the bread pudding is warm and moist. It also held together really well. The flavors just melded beautifully. Seasonal bread pudding The chocolate cupcake was okay. It had a lot of buttercream frosting on top, and that’s mostly the flavor you’re going to get. The strawberry tres leches surprised us, though. We were expecting a plain white cake in a milk concoction, but this was like a real cheesecake with the milk at the bottom — and that was SO good. The strawberries were freeze-dried and added a nice punch of flavor (although we think raspberry would’ve been even better). It’s nice and fruity with that creamy milkiness. Just YUM, y’all. Chocolate Cupcake and Strawberry Tres Leches The warm chocolate chip cookie was a gooey and chewy chocolate chip cookie. It wasn’t special, but we still liked it. Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie Overall, we thought this was a great selection of desserts. You can also create your own ice cream sundae with soft-serve and various sauces and toppings. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Celebrity Margarita for $16.50. It’s made with Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila, Cointreau Liqueur, Lime Juice, and Sweet-and-Sour. The server recommended it, but it tasted like store-bought margarita mix with liquor. It would have been better with a little sour syrup or lemon juice added. Celebrity Margarita We’ll be honest. We just don’t think this drink is worth the price. Characters Of course, the biggest reason to visit Hollywood & Vine is to see the characters! And you’ll see quite a few here. Even better? They’re wearing their special summer outfits to fit with the seasonal theme. Minnie looks stunning in her pretty yellow dress. Minnie Mickey is giving us total beach vibes with his t-shirt and shorts. Mickey Goofy is kicking it casual in his denim shorts. And of course, we can’t forget about Pluto! Pluto You’ll also get a fun little postcard signed by all the characters. Signed postcard This makes for a nice keepsake to take home with you. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a buffet. This is one of the good buffets in Disney World with a variety of eats. You’ve got kids or picky eaters in your group. The kids’ offerings here are sure to satisfy the pickiest of eaters. You want to meet characters. If you want to meet characters, this is the best place to do it. You get guaranteed meet and greets with Mickey, Minnie, and their friends. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re on a budget. At $63 per adult and $42 per child, this dining experience could get very pricey if you have a large group. You don’t care about meeting characters. If you just want a meal without anything extra, this is probably not the spot for you. You want a quick bite or a small meal. This is a table service restaurant, meaning it will take a little longer to get your food and eat. If you want quick service or a smaller meal, you’ll want to go somewhere else. Overall It’s our opinion that Hollywood & Vine is often underrated, especially for the quality of food you get at the buffet. Of course, it’s also one of the best ways to meet characters. The seasonal aspect also means that you can have a different meal depending on the time of year you dine here, so it offers some variety. Plus, it’s all-you-care-to-enjoy, which means you can eat to your heart’s content…just remember to bring your appetite! 13. We know that Disney World keeps track of you while you’re at the resort, but just how intense are the methods they use? Disney World tested the technology in 2021 In the age of technology, Disney World has used plenty of tools to get into the data collection game. From apps to video surveillance, there’s no question that Disney is tracking you when you’re at the resort — but how deep does the rabbit hole go? Does Disney use facial recognition tools in its effort to keep tabs on you? We have the answer! It’s no secret that Disney collects data on your interests, activity, and whereabouts via technology like the My Disney Experience app and MagicBands. In fact, it doesn’t hide this fact, as the company claims it uses the data to improve the guest experience. However, regardless of how you feel about this data collection, you may not have to worry about facial recognition technology…at least not yet. ©Guide2WDW Currently, the company uses the technology listed above, as well as other devices like finger scanners, as its primary source of biometrics. Right now, Disney World does not use face scanners. Finger Scanning With that said, things could easily change. Disney World has explored facial recognition efforts in the past. In fact, Magic Kingdom tested facial recognition from March 2021 to May 2021. Trying to go for a more touchless experience coming off 2020 and the pandemic, Disney said, “The technology we’re testing captures an image of a Guest’s face and converts it into a unique number, which is then associated with the form of admission being used for park entry.” Facial Recognition Disney’s tech centered around facial feature measurements and interestingly worked with face masks. It created a depth map of the face and was destined to become a permanent resort feature — but that never really materialized. When Disney was testing this, the flaws must’ve outweighed the known benefits, and more tinkering was required. Say Cheese! That doesn’t mean that Disney won’t have a picture of your face on file. PhotoPass pictures taken on and off attractions are linked to your account and MagicBand — albeit they get deleted after some time. Facial Recognition Test Sign Over at Disneyland, the California theme park resort DOES take your picture and links it to your ticket. It then also scans your face each time you enter the gate to a theme park. Disneyland entrance scanners Additionally, Universal Orlando — and including the new Epic Universe theme park — uses facial scanning technology. It’s simply become a popular trend among the big theme park giants. Here we go! With all that in mind, it’s safe to say there’s at least a 50/50 shot that facial recognition comes over to Disney World at some point. Despite privacy concerns and a history of controversy surrounding data collection, the system is in full swing over in Anaheim. If the technology works, there is no reason for Disney to withhold bringing it over to Florida. Regardless of how you feel about these measures, Disney is likely to continue modifying the way it monitors and reacts to its guests. Here’s what YOU said back in 2021! We’re at the parks literally every day and, through research and our own experiences, we’ve learned how Disney is keeping track of us. We’ve also had plenty of experience now on the West Coast with Disney’s new facial recognition tech, so if it ever comes over to Florida, we’ll let you know what you should expect. How do you feel about the prospect of facial recognition technology coming to Disney World? Let us know and continue to follow us here at DFB for all the latest Disney World coverage! 15. So it’s no secret that when a new snack drops in Disney World, we get really excited and make a beeline for wherever that new snack has appeared so we can try it ASAP. Moana Mini Cake When we find out that there’s new CAKE in Disney World, we might even run a little faster, which is why we’ve eaten a LOT of cake (and we’ll eat more). Well, some new cakes and snacks recently dropped for World Princess Week, and let’s just say that getting our hands on said cakes and snacks proved trickier than we could have EVER imagined. We’ll take you step-by-step through our cake drama-filled day. So we had a list of the cakes that were releasing on a certain date and started traveling around Disney World to grab them. Our first stop was at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where the Moana Mini Cake was supposed to be available at Capt. Cook’s and Kona Island. When we arrived at Capt. Cook’s, the placard for the cake was out…but when we asked for it, it wasn’t available. Capt. Cook’s We were told to check with Kona Island. So we did. We didn’t see a placard, but we stood in line so we could ask about the cake. They were not available, but a member of our team had seen them earlier, so what gives? Well, we were told that the bakery brings them out closer to lunchtime. Wait…don’t people eat cake for breakfast? We do! Why wait until lunch? Okay, so still… no cake. Kona Island So we hopped on the Monorail and went to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. We made our way to Gasparilla Island Grill to try another snack, the Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar. We saw the sign for the dessert, but y’all, IT WAS SOLD OUT. We were told to come back within the next hour to check again. So here we are…again…with NO cake. Gasparilla Island Grill SO….we made our way back to the Polynesian and checked Capt. Cook’s again…still no cake. So back to Kona Island, where we discovered they were waiting for the bakery to bring them some treats. We managed to speak with a Cast Member from Culinary who was restocking the fridge there and were told that Kona Island would have it, but it would be another hour. ANOTHER HOUR, y’all. Kona Island was testing us We were about to throw our hands up in the air, but we spotted another Culinary Cast Member at Kona Island…and FINALLY, our Moana Mini Cake arrived. After HOURS of waiting, our little cake had finally appeared, and we had it in our grubby little hands. Honestly, though, this pretty cake was worth it. FINALLY Side note: We sent another reporter to get Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar later, but we did get to try it, too. But y’all, whew. Tiana’s Mint Chocolate Chip Bar To make our story even better, before we went on our cake hunt, we visited Magic Kingdom to see if the Halloween decorations were up — and they weren’t. (However, they are up now). That began our morning of disappointment. So that was our cake adventure of the day, and yes, this happens more often than you would think. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 16. One of Disney’s most beloved Halloween traditions is back! The Headless Horeseman There are a few more exhilarating moments in any Disney park than watching the Headless Horseman gallop down Main Street on his horse before the start of the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade! I’ve been writing about Disney parks for over six years, and visiting them for far longer, and yet the moment still gets me every time! In celebration of the start of the Halloween season – yes, it’s really here already, Disney released a new video showcasing the ghoulish rider selecting their steed for the evening. The post was captioned, “Leading the Boo-To-You Parade starts with an important choice… ” The parade, which features a “flurry of favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, donning Halloween costumes as they prepare to go trick-or-treating down Main Street, U.S.A.” is offered twice a night during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party at 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM. 18. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake We recently stopped by Hollywood Scoops at Hollywood Studios to check out a brand new offering, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Located in the park’s Sunset Boulevard area, near the entrance to the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, Hollywood Scoops offers a menu of ice cream treats, including hand-dipped bars and a Mickey Brownie Sundae. Hollywood Scoops Recently, we sampled the location’s Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake. For $16.50, this Chocolate milkshake includes Jim Beam Red Stag Black Cherry Bourbon, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and candied bacon. Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake Unfortunately, we didn’t think this drink quite lived up to the promise of its ingredients. Essentially, it’s a chocolate milkshake with a shot of bourbon on the bottom with some chocolate syrup on the sides, a piece of candied bacon sticking in it, and topped with whipped cream. Candied Bacon! Said bourbon at the bottom was our major issue. It was difficult to get the alcohol and chocolate milkshake to mix together, leading to several sips of straight bourbon. While this is tasty if one likes bourbon, it can be overwhelming and dilutes the overall flavor. Speaking of flavor, there wasn’t much cherry flavor at all. The shale itself is a typical chocolate shape. The highlight of the drink was the candied bacon. It tasted like it was coated in maple syrup, giving it a crispy combination of sweet and savory. We probably wouldn’t get this shake again, due to the high cost and difficulty of mixing the alcohol. If you are a major bourbon fan who wants to sample the shake, we’d recommend consuming it pretty quickly as it melts fast. Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake We recently tried the Chocolate Bourbon Milkshake from Hollywood Scoops, and were sadly underwhelmed. 19. What’s the fate of the Liberty Belle after the Magic Kingdom’s riverboat took its final cruise? Liberty Square Riverboat In early July of 2025, Disney controversially closed the Rivers of America, including Tom Sawyer Island and the aforementioned Liberty Belle riverboat. The opening day area and its attractions were shuttered to make way for Piston Peak, the expansion coming to the park’s Frontierland based on Pixar’s Cars franchise. While work has already begun on draining the river and tearing down the island, many fans — including those like me who have been enjoying the Rivers of America for decades — have been wondering what happened to the Liberty Belle. Now, thanks to theme park photographer extraordinaire @bioreconstruct, we have our answer. The photographer, who excels at capturing photos of the Walt Disney World resort from above, recently shared some images of the ship, seemingly still assembled in the park’s backstage marina area. @Bioreconstruct Pulling back, the images reveal just how large an infrastructure the Magic Kingdom has for watercraft, which is always a fascinating sight for someone like me, who has been studying Disney parks for decades. @Bioreconstruct In addition to the photos of the riverboat, @bioreconstruct also shared some further images showing how quickly construction is happening at the park, in closing the already drained Rivers of America… @Bioreconstruct …and a full-park shot that displays not only the future sight of Piston Peak, but also the massive amount of land that has been cleared for Villains Land “beyond” Big Thunder Mountain. @Bioreconstruct The Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Belle Riverboat, one of the casualties of the park’s expansion, is still present backstage at the park… for now. 20. Disney Adults everywhere rejoiced when the final wall came down after the EPCOT Transformation. Seriously, it basically felt like being at the Brandenburg Gate circa 1987. World Celebration Gardens But, now that the transformation is finally complete, it seems like fans aren’t really satisfied with the outcome — and it’s kinda hard to blame them. The concept art for the changes at EPCOT were full of wonder, color, and creativity, but the reality feels like little more than a mall or a college campus trying to be hip — at least according to these ticked off Disney Adults. We recently shared an update on our DFB Instagram page about the drastic difference between the concept art and reality of the EPCOT Transformation, and Disney Adults went WILD in the comments with their thoughts on the matter. Taking a look at the comparisons below, the final result doesn’t exactly look like the renderings Disney first showed us. Concept art vs. reality Commenters did not hold back when sharing opinions on the reality of EPCOT’s new look — starting off with one person pointing out that it was “Very much Instagram vs Reality” with how things turned out. Others remarked at how EPCOT has lost all of its charm following the changes, and that it’s become sterile instead. We appreciated this comment, that said, “…more like communiBORE hall if you ask me.” Concept art vs. reality Others couldn’t help but mention how much the new look basically looks like a college campus: “Communicore: Inspired by Real American Community Colleges” and “It’s giving Disney community college vibes” were just a couple of the many comments we saw, essentially saying the same thing. There’s no whimsy or colorful, fun decor like we saw at EPCOT during the 1980s and 1990s. Concept art vs. reality And, while some might say, “That’s progress,” it’s hard to not be disappointed when the concept art is just so wildly different from what we ended up with. CommuniCore Hall might be the best example of that — especially when it first opened, as evidenced below. The concept art looked like a colorful art gallery with fun installations, and when it actually opened, it pretty much looked like a school cafeteria. Concept art vs. reality We will give Disney a little bit of credit when it comes to CommuniCore Hall, as they have turned it into some really fun exhibits now that it’s been open for a while. During the 2025 Festival of the Arts, a Disney on Broadway experience was located here, and during Cool Kid Summer, the area has been redubbed to “GoofyCore,” full of fun activities featuring Goofy himself. LOTS of fun here! Still, we can’t help but reminisce about the old EPCOT, the “sparkles in the ground” EPCOT, the whimsical EPCOT. While we’ve certainly gotten used to how things are now, we’ll always wonder what it would have looked like if Disney had stayed a bit closer to the original concept art. 21. Air travel is pretty stressful. Not only do you have to worry about long security lines and making it to your gate on time, but there are also the inevitable delays that happen, too. Airports aren’t exactly calming. Traveling with pets is stressful Now imagine you’re a dog or a cat and you’re being taken through an airport. You have to go through security with a ton of strangers checking you out, and there are a lot of other people around. It can be SCARY. That’s why your human needs to know the #1 rule about traveling with pets, especially when dealing with TSA security. We’re going to give you an example of what not to do with your pet when going through security. So here’s the thing: you have to take your pet out of its carrier and place the case on the conveyor belt to go through the X-ray machine. ©TSA So that seems easy, right? But you’ve probably got a freaked-out animal, and, in one instance (at least), one kitty managed to escape in the TSA security area. This isn’t really surprising because most cat owners know they’re notoriously good escape artists (yep, I’ve been there, done that). We do give this cat some credit, though, because it at least put itself in a bin. Don’t worry, though, TSA agents helped get the kitty back to its owner. ©TSA Here’s the thing: if you are traveling with a pet, bring a leash. Your pet should already be wearing a harness or collar inside its carrier. Before you take it out, make sure the leash is attached to said collar or harness. If you’re worried about your pet escaping, you can get pet carriers that have a place to attach a leash inside the carrier so they can’t make a break for it when the door opens (yep, been there and done that, too). MCO Airport Security This is actually a TSA rule: “You should maintain control of your pet with a leash and remember to remove the leash when carrying your pet through the metal detector.” Granted, anyone who’s ever owned a cat is laughing at this point, because, well, CAT. So you might want to have a towel handy to wrap said animal in because they will inevitably try to claw their way out of your arms when they’re scared. You can also ask your vet for meds to keep your animal calm during their trip to the airport. ©Disney Of course, you have another easier option. You can ask to speak with a supervisor at TSA security for an alternative screening option. A private security screening will be less stressful on you and your furry little friend. Stay tuned to DFB for more. There’s a Reason This Disney World Airport Hack Is So Popular Do you often travel with your pet? Share your tips in the comments! 22. We’re begging you not to break these Skyliner rules the next time you take a ride on this method of transportation! Skyliner The Disney Skyliner is a free Disney World transportation offering that takes passengers to and from select hotels and the EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme parks. We’ve used the Skyliner a bunch, along with millions of other Disney World guests. Over the years, we’ve come up with tips, but we’ve also learned what NOT to do when taking the Skyliner. We have several former Disney World Cast Members on the DFB team, and we consulted with them regarding rules they’d wish guests would stop breaking when using the Disney Skyliner. Three answers really stood out. Disney World’s Skyliner Don’t Stand Up or Rock The Car Taking any form of transportation comes with inherent risk, and that’s especially true with a gondola dangling several feet off the ground. Standing up and/or rocking your Skyliner car is dangerous, and it’s something Cast Members DO NOT want to see happening. Inside the Disney Skyliner It’s important to stay seated and let the car gracefully glide along the cable so it can safely take you to your destination. Creating safety issues is one way to get into serious trouble, and you really don’t want to play around with gravity — which remains undefeated. Skyliner As is the case with everything at Disney World, follow instructions and listen to Cast Members for a smooth and pleasant experience. Be Mindful Of What You Say The Skyliner takes you high off the ground, but not Mount Everest high. Believe it or not, Cast Members and guests below you may be able to hear your conversations. Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Some of our team members have heard really wacky and wild conversations that were happening in perceived privacy. When you’re at Disney World, true privacy can be difficult to come by outside of your hotel room, and that includes in the confines of the Disney Skyliner. Skyliner at Riviera The simple solution? Don’t say anything you wouldn’t be comfortable saying in public. That means keep your language clean and your secrets/wild stories for a quieter location. Leave the Emergency Box Alone Unless There’s An Emergency Never ever play around with safety/emergency equipment at Disney World, and never utilize said equipment unless you’re experiencing an actual emergency. That goes for the emergency box and call box located in every Skyliner gondola, as well. Emergency Call Button The emergency kits include the following: Cold packs Bathroom bags Water Notepads Whistle Glow stick Cups These are not toys, and opening one for no reason will get you into trouble with Disney. Rather, treat these kits with respect and hope you never have to open one up. In the case of an actual emergency, you’ll be glad that other guests left your box alone, leaving you with everything you need and no complications. ©Disney Skyliner emergency kit We’ve become Skyliner pros, collecting a ton of tips over the years. 24. SO much is happening in Disney World right now. Mickey pumpkin wreaths! Beak and Barrel Reservations Disney had a tough bit of news this week because the Beak and Barrel reservations were finally supposed to open! The new pirate lounge in Magic Kingdom officially opens on August 29th, and reservations for the lounge were supposed to open on August 14th. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. ©Disney After hours of waiting to grab our seat at the tavern table, we had collected more broken Disney website pages than we had reservations. Disney finally confirmed in the afternoon that due to technical difficulties, reservations wouldn’t open on time. Screenshot from Disney World app Womp, womp. The next day (after many disappointed sighs), Disney finally announced it would attempt to drop reservations the week of August 18th, 2025. We are seriously excited to check out the new pirate pub, which continues the story of the famous Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. ©Disney You can find grub from the galley, non-alcoholic drinks, and specialty cocktails in the new Magic Kingdom lounge. 25. EPCOT at night during Food and Wine is not the quiet evening stroll you might be expecting. EPCOT With the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival kicking off August 28th and running through November 22nd, the park is already a hot spot in the evenings. Add in the fact that Magic Kingdom closes early on select nights for their separately-ticketed parties, and you’ve got a recipe for seriously crowded evenings at EPCOT. We’re talking about bigger crowds, longer lines at booths, and an atmosphere that feels more like a weekend concert than a casual festival night. So, if you’re planning to spend your evening sipping around the world, you’ll want to know exactly which nights are going to be impacted. Why EPCOT Gets So Busy Here’s the deal: when Magic Kingdom hosts either Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, guests without party tickets get the boot at 6PM. That means the park closes early for them, and they need somewhere else to go. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Since EPCOT stays open later and Food and Wine is happening, guess where a LOT of those people end up? Yep—your peaceful EPCOT night turns into everyone’s Plan B. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival So while you’re trying to enjoy a few snacks and drinks around World Showcase, you’re now sharing the space with thousands of extra guests who had to pivot after being ushered out of Magic Kingdom. The Festival Dates You Need to Know The 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs August 28th through November 22nd, 2025. That’s nearly three full months of booths, entertainment, and—let’s be honest—lines. Now layer on the fact that during a chunk of those dates, Magic Kingdom is closing early for their seasonal parties, and you’ve got overlap that can make EPCOT evenings tricky. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Here’s the breakdown: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (August 15th – October 31, 2025) Party nights mean EPCOT gets slammed in the evenings. From the start of Food & Wine on August 28th until Halloween, these dates line up with both events: August: 29 September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30 October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31 Translation: almost every weeknight and plenty of weekends will have heavier-than-normal EPCOT crowds during Food and Wine. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (November 7 – December 21, 2025) Yes, Food and Wine ends on November 22nd, but there’s still a good chunk of overlap with the holiday parties. If you’re planning a November trip, these are the nights where EPCOT is going to absorb the overflow from Magic Kingdom: November: 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21 Basically, the first half of November is going to feel packed at EPCOT most evenings. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party How to Adjust Your Plans So what do you do with this info? We’re not saying avoid EPCOT altogether on these dates, but you should go in with a game plan. Consider going earlier in the day. Crowds are noticeably lighter before late afternoon. If you can snack your way around the booths during lunchtime, you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle. Book a sit-down dinner. If you still want to spend your evening at EPCOT on a party night, locking in a dining reservation gives you a guaranteed seat and a chance to escape the masses. Save your EPCOT evenings for non-party nights. This is the biggest hack. If your schedule allows, plan your Food and Wine nights on days when Magic Kingdom is open late. Those evenings at EPCOT will feel much more relaxed. Use the festival for lunch, not dinner. This is a simple shift that makes a big difference. You’ll still get to enjoy the same booths without battling the crowds of displaced Magic Kingdom guests. Bottom Line Food and Wine season is already a popular time at EPCOT, but once you layer in Magic Kingdom’s early closures for Halloween and Christmas parties, evenings can get packed fast. Knowing the overlap dates can help you avoid being caught off guard and give you the chance to plan smarter. Food & Wine Festival If you were dreaming of a calm, crowd-free night strolling World Showcase with a glass of wine in hand, you’ll want to double-check the party calendar before locking in those plans. Stay ahead of the curve, plan accordingly, and you’ll thank yourself later. For more news on this year’s Food and Wine Festival, be sure to follow DFB!
