  1. You know those moments when you smell a familiar scent and are instantly transported to a memory? Or when you smell freshly baked cookies or buttery popcorn, and your brain automatically starts craving that item? Smell is a powerful sense that can trigger strong, nostalgic emotions. Disney knows this all too well, and Imagineers often incorporate scents into experiences. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade You can probably imagine smelling the burning scent from Spaceship Earth, the distinct smells on Avatar Flight of Passage, or the dirt scent on Soarin’ Around the World. Or even the recognizable smells you encounter when walking into your Disney World hotel. And we have definitely been guilty of buying popcorn after smelling it the moment we walk into Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Live Entertainment have incorporated aromas into their creations for many years. A recent episode of Imagineer That! gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the scents incorporated into Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at Magic Kingdom. Yep, even the Christmas parade utilizes scents to give viewers an even better experience! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Tom Morrow 2.0 stopped by Magic Kingdom to talk with Kaley from Disney Live Entertainment. She explained how scents are incorporated into the parade. There are special scent machines hidden in some of the parade floats. Each canister is made of a wax material with a specific scented oil. When the canister is warmed, the oil evaporates, and the fragrant air is pushed out with a fan. Scent Canister ©Disney You can smell a variety of scents during the parade! Clarbelle’s Bake Shop float pushes out a gingerbread scent, the Christmas tree float with Mickey and Minnie smells like pine trees, and Goofy’s Candy Factory float smells like peppermint. You can smell gingerbread from this float! Want some more good news? If you are headed to Magic Kingdom this week, you can catch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade during regular park hours WITHOUT needing a ticket for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. From December 22nd until December 31st, you can watch the parade (and smell the scents!) at 12 PM and 3 PM daily in Magic Kingdom. This is a popular parade, so you will want to arrive early for a spot if you want prime viewing. You can smell peppermint from this float! 2. Are we seeing this right? In an era of annual price increases, did Disney just LOWER costs at some of our favorite spots? Disney California Adventure! Over at Disneyland Resort, we spotted some price decreases on some of our favorite drinks! We can’t believe our eyes, so we want you to check it out with us. Disney California Adventure might have just shocked us. During our check through menu changes, it seems like Pym’s Tasting Lab and Pym Test Kitchen have dropped prices on some of our favorite sips. Pym Test Kitchen The Marvel-inspired quick service (the Test Kitchen) in Avengers Campus also has an outdoor walk-up bar (the Tasting Lab). It’s seriously one of the best spots in California Adventure, and this news might have made it even better. First, over at Pym Test Kitchen, changes hit the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. They include: Proton Potation – changed $18.50 to $17.50 Beer Mimosa – changed from $16.75 to $15.75 Inside Pym’s Test Kitchen Outside, you can find Pym’s Tasting Lab. The changes include: Liberty Punch – Changed from $19.50 to $18.50 Litmus Lemonade – Changed from $18.50 to $17.50 Molecular Mule – changed from $20.50 to $19.50 Titration Tea- Changed from $19.50 to $18.50 Blue Hawaiian – Changed from $19.50 to $18.50 X-Periment – Changed from $22.50 to $21.50 R&D Martini – Changed from $21.50 to $20.50 Tropical Hurricane Cocktail – Changed from $20.50 to $19.50 X-Periment These changes might not be drastic, but we absolutely will take what we can get! We stop by this spot almost every time we go to California Adventure, so these dollar changes will certainly add up. Avengers Campus is a hot spot in this park with attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and WEB SLINGERS! Avengers Campus This area of the park is also busy expanding to add two brand new attractions! Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab are currently in development. We’ll happily sip on our cheaper cocktails while we watch construction over the next few years. Construction in December 2025 We’re definitely happy to see these slight price drops, especially after recent price increases around each Disney park. 3. If you’ve got plans to stay at the beautiful Disney World resort that is Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in 2026, you’re going to have to plan accordingly for a big change coming early next year. Wilderness Lodge Copper Creek This deluxe resort is by far one of our favorites at Disney World. It’s gorgeous and offers several ways to get around Disney World, including boat transportation. However, a closure is coming to the boats in January — let’s take a look at the details! The docks at Wilderness Lodge will be closing for refurbishment on January 12th, 2026, through April 2026. This will be a temporary routine maintenance that often takes place at the docks. This means no more taking the boat to Magic Kingdom and back for a little while. Let’s sail over to Magic Kingdom! We do have some good news, though! The boat that will take guests from the resort to Magic Kingdom and back will only be closed from January 12th through January 30th. If you are staying at the hotel during that time frame, you’ll have to take a bus to Magic Kingdom instead. Otherwise, you can take the boat as usual. This also applies to the boat that goes to Fort Wilderness Resort. Wilderness Lodge Boat Launch Speaking of refurbishment at Wilderness Lodge, the hotel, along with Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, is undergoing refurbishment through late 2026. Disney usually does a good job of staying out of the way of guests, but this construction work could limit views at the hotel. You’ll also see and hear construction being done during the day at the resort. Most amenities at the hotel will still remain open, so it shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience. We’re ready for this to be DONE! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. This poncho — available on Amazon in multiple colors, including this striking hot pink — had several features that we simply adored. The material allowed the rain to slip right off, and between that and the lack of sleeves, we didn’t feel steamed or hot underneath. On top of that, the poncho was large enough that our backpack was able to fit underneath it comfortably, while still keeping the bag and our backs completely covered from the rain. Frogg Togg Poncho If all that wasn’t enough, the poncho even comes with a waterproof storage bag, meaning we were able to quickly pack it up and throw it in our backpack as soon as the storm ended without worrying about anything in there getting wet. 5. As 2025 comes to a wrap, it’s time to look ahead to 2026 and beyond to see what the Walt Disney Company has in store! The Walt Disney Company headquarters in California It’s no secret that Disney is poised for a couple of huge years at the box office. With movies like Toy Story 5, Avengers: Doomsday, and Frozen 3 on their upcoming slate, Disney movies in the coming years are exciting. However, some changes have been made to their upcoming movie schedule! Before 2025 closes out, Disney has announced that they made some date shifts to movies planned to come out next year and beyond. Some movies are getting pushed back, while other movies are coming to theatres a little sooner. Let’s take a look at all the movies and their new dates! The Walt Disney Company Ready or Not 2: Here I Come Originally planned to release on April 10th, 2026, Searchlight’s Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has officially been moved up to March 27th, 2026. It looks like Disney is demonstrating a lot of confidence in the horror sequel. The highly-anticipated sequel will now be coming out in that pre-Easter window, and will be competing in the box office against Warner Bros. horror movie They Will Kill You. ©The Hollywood Reporter Dog Stars Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller, Dog Stars, has been pushed back — moving from March 27th, 2026, to the summer on August 28th, 2026. The movie stars Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce, Marg. Hig, played by Jacob Elordi, is a pilot who survived the flu but lost his wife. There isn’t much else released on this movie, and no trailer, but it sounds intriguing! ©Deadline Gatto Lastly, Pixar’s Italian-set movie, Gatto, about a black cat named Nero, is getting pushed up as well. It was originally scheduled for June 18th, 2027, but has now been moved to March 5th, 2027. The Pixar movie is going to be directed by Enrico Casarosa. ©Pixar Disney is going to have a big year in 2026, with highly anticipated movies like Avengers: Doomsday, Toy Story 5, Hoppers, Moana live-action, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. ©Pixar Also, it looks like the untitled Disney projects have made RSVP’s on the calendar, filling in September 11th and November 6th in 2026, according to Deadline. There was also an untitled Disney movie slated for March 5th, 2027, but that has now been shifted to June 18th, 2027. ©Disney We’ve got a couple of good years for Disney movies approaching, and we can’t wait to watch them all. 6. Over the last several decades, festivals have become a bigger and bigger part of EPCOT’s year. From the Festival of the Arts and Flower & Garden through Food & Wine and the Festival of the Holidays, the times of year when there isn’t a fest on the calendar are becoming few and far between. 2025 Food and Wine Signs! Over my years covering Walt Disney World, I’ve seen EPCOT’s festivals evolve into the massive events they are now, which guests annually visit and plan for all year round. Over time, that planning has evolved into hacks, all of which are helpful… until they become overused, to the point where they potentially impact other guests. Tables, Tables, Tables Anyone who’s visited EPCOT during one of the park’s festivals, especially on busy days, knows that getting a table near one of the food booths can be difficult… to say the least. Given that, it’s no surprise that many guests have taken to splitting their parties, with some grabbing a table while others go and get the food. Festival of the Holidays lines The issue here is that, given the usual length of lines and prep time, there’s probably enough time for a person who already has their food to use a table, eat, and leave before the other members of the party who have claimed the table get back with the food. Full Spread 2025 We would definitely advise doing your best to grab a table after you’ve got your food. Or, at the very least, if you split your party, those in charge of looking for a table shouldn’t start looking for one until the person getting food has ordered. Too Much Focus on Pre-Planning The day that festival menus come out is always a favorite of ours, and many guests as well. Often, festival-goers will plan their desired meals weeks or months before their visit. However, there is a danger in looking at the menu beforehand and zeroing in on a certain item from each booth. Hawai’i Menu Occasionally, items run out or are unavailable (especially near the start of the festival), meaning that having some backup thoughts in mind, or at least being flexible, is very important. We’d advise finding multiple items on each booth’s menu that you’d be willing to try; that way, if your top choice is unavailable, your flexible backup is already in your mind. Packing the International Gateway In recent years, especially since the opening of the Walt Disney World Skyliner, many EPCOT festival guests have been entering through the International Gateway to get to World Showcase (especially France)’s booths faster. Disney Skyliner However, the more people who use the entrance, the more crowded — and less of a “hack” — it becomes. So, if you plan on entering the park that way during your next visit during a festival season, don’t count on getting in any faster. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays Passport These EPCOT festival hacks can definitely be helpful at times… if they’re not being done by everyone! 8. Are you ready to play our favorite game with us? It’s time for a Crowd Check at Disney World! Magic Kingdom crowds It’s currently the week of Christmas, and that means there are tons and tons of people in the parks ready to celebrate. We’re in the parks every single day, so we know a busy day in Magic Kingdom from a BUSY day in Magic Kingdom. Whether you’re planning a trip for next year or just love seeing the chaos, let’s see how Disney World is holding up with the crowds for the end of 2025. Here’s a look at December 22nd. This is just the line to scan into Magic Kingdom!. To make scanning in a bit faster, make sure everyone has their cards or MagicBands connected to their accounts and knows which finger they scanned in on. Of course, you can’t control how fast everyone else goes through, but at least you know your family will be sliding through. Waiting to scan in Main Street, U.S.A. didn’t feel too bad for a moment… Kinda empty …but then we saw everyone coming through. There isn’t really a way to avoid Main Street, and while you can walk through the stores, I find it’s easier to go on the sidewalk versus the middle of the street or inside the buildings. Found them! You also might want to consider taking castle pictures on the sides or closer to the castle, versus on Main Street. If you catch the right angle, you can get fewer people with you in the photo. On December 23rd, getting a little closer to Christmas, we were greeted with fewer crowds than expected as soon as we got to the Transportation & Ticket Center, which is where you can park for Magic Kingdom before taking the ferryboat or monorail to the park. It’s pretty debated with our team at DFB if it’s faster to take the monorail or ferryboat, but I say that a packed ferryboat is better than a packed monorail, and if you can go to the second floor, there is usually more space. The ferryboat gives you more fresh air, even if the route is a little longer. Monorail lines Another look at Main Street! Yep. Busy, busy, busy. Now onto wait times, which is the true indicator of how the crowds are looking. People, people, people Uh, what? Those are NOT the wait times we were expecting. Peter Pan’s Flight was only 50 minutes, which is low for a normal day, and the Jingle Cruise (the holiday version of the Jingle Cruise) was only 45 minutes, which is VERY low. ©Disney Even Space Mountain was only 35 minutes, along with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey’s meet and greet at the Town Square Theater. Was it actually a secret, perfect day to go to Magic Kingdom? ©Disney We’re not really sure what’s happening with the crowds, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it to see how it progresses. 9. David Adam Williams, a popular theme parks and travel YouTuber known as Adam the Woo, was found dead Monday afternoon in his home in Celebration, deputies said. Osceola Sheriff’s deputies found Williams, 51, in his upstairs bedroom after a concerned neighbor climbed a ladder to see Williams motionless on his bed, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. The cause of death is still unknown as of Tuesday morning pending an autopsy . Williams gained a sizable following on YouTube, where he uploaded videos of himself exploring abandoned filming sites from popular movies and TV shows. He later pivoted to daily vlog content on a channel called “The Daily Woo” where he documented his travels across the United States living out of a van to an audience of more than 740,000 subscribers. In 2023, Williams purchased a home in Celebration, saying in a video, “What a ride it’s been since I started making videos in my van. … I always wanted to buy a house by the time I was 50 and happy to say I accomplished my goal. Pretty thankful.” He would often post videos of himself exploring the neighborhood, including one in October entitled, “I Live in a Halloween Town.” Williams uploaded his final video to YouTube on Sunday, in which he drove a golf cart with a man dressed as the Grinch through Celebration’s downtown Christmas decorations. Viewers took to the video’s comment section to pay tribute to Williams. “It never felt like you were watching him. It always felt like you were there with him. We will forever be grateful for the journeys you took us on, Adam,” one viewer wrote. Friends of Williams also took to social media to post their condolences. Justin Scarred, a theme parks Youtuber who made content with Williams, wrote in a Facebook post late Monday that the news broke his heart. “The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood. We lost Adam. I loved this man with my whole heart and I don’t know what to do or what to say,” he wrote. Peter Sciretta, another theme parks content creator, wrote on X that he was “devastated.” “Adam The Woo was a trailblazer, he did his own thing, his way, always. He was a creature of consistency who chased adventure and chaos on a daily basis. He deeply loved what he did so much that he couldn’t stop, even if he wanted to,” Sciretta wrote. 14. The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is coming February 26th through March 2nd, 2026! Whether you are getting ready to participate in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, preparing to cheer someone on in the race, or are just now learning there is a race that weekend, we have an update you need to know. EPCOT Due to the Disney Princess Half Marathon on Sunday, March 1st, EPCOT will open a bit later than usual. Don’t worry, it’s nothing too crazy, but we don’t want you showing up at the normal opening time only to find that the park is closed. EPCOT will open at 10 AM instead of 9 AM, with Early Entry beginning at 9:30 AM. If you were planning to head to EPCOT on March 1st, you can now get a bit of extra sleep in the morning or have a relaxing morning before heading to the park. If you will be at Disney World during a runDisney, be prepared for road closures and heavier traffic in the morning. The courses for the races use Disney World roads, so some roads will be closed for a few hours early in the morning. If you need to be somewhere early in the morning, make sure to leave yourself extra time to get there. ©runDisney If you are participating in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, we are cheering for you, and we hope you have a magical time! If you want to participate in a runDisney race, you can check out the runDisney website for more information. runDisney hosts several races per year at Disney World and Disneyland Resort. These races are VERY popular, though, so you will need to try to sign up as soon as registration opens. Even if you are right on time, there is no guarantee you will get a spot. 15. The United Airlines app just got some NEW features that could make your next trip easier! The new features include ‘Virtual Gate’, a Club recommendation tool, and a real-time bag tracker. United Airlines wants travelers to feel confident about their trip, and United’s Chief Customer Officer stated, “the more information our customers have, the more confident they feel about their trip – and that’s particularly important during the holidays.” ©United Airlines According to United Airlines, 84% of United customers use the app while flying, and these new features aim to provide more information that travelers might want during their journey. Let’s take a look at these new features! The first new feature is ‘Virtual Gate’, which will provide users with real-time updates on which groups are boarding and a progress bar showing how many people have boarded. Yep, you can see how many people have boarded down to the individual. United Airlines hopes this will help to eliminate the need to wait around the gate area and give travelers a real-time look at boarding progress. ©United Airlines The app now also has a Club recommendation tool. The tool will recommend the “closest and best” nearby United Club based on the traveler’s current location. The app will also eventually display available capacity. The capacity feature will initially be offered only at ORD but is expected to roll out to additional airports in 2026. ©United Airlines The app now has an upgraded bag tracking feature. The app will display “package-delivery-style” updates showing your bag’s location in real time. Additionally, the app will provide personalized updates, such as guidance on traveling with strollers or wheelchairs, as well as reminders about required travel documents. Additional arrival information features have also been introduced, including live local weather conditions, estimated local arrival time, and instructions for connecting to rideshare services directly from the airport. ©United Airlines The United app isn’t the only thing that is getting more features, though! United Airlines has also unveiled the United Elevated interior for its new Boeing 787-9 airplanes. The updated features you’ll find inside these planes aim to raise “the standard of international premium travel among U.S. carriers.” Its newest additions include new business-class suites, the most premium seats in United’s fleet, an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche service, Starlink connectivity, and even larger 4K OLED seatback screens. ©United Here at DFB, we always want to make sure you have the most up-to-date information about news that might impact your Disney vacation, so stay tuned to DFB for updates! 17. Parking Cast Members at Disney World are rockin’ some NEW costumes! These Cast Members are looking bright and stylish in the new look. New costumes! Parking Cast Members began wearing new costumes earlier this year, ditching the old yellow and white for dark blue shorts or pants and a white shirt. Now, the Cast Members have debuted a brand-new shirt that is complete with sketched Disney vehicles. We spotted these new costumes this morning while parking to head to Magic Kingdom. We love how bright they are and the iconic Disney vehicles in the pattern. We spotted the Kilimanjaro Safaris truck, the TRON Lightcycle / Run ride vehicle, Herbie the Love Bug, and more. How fun are these new costumes?!? A closer look at the pattern Disney World costumes have been seeing quite a few changes over the past few years. New costumes debuted on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, Cast Members at The Land Pavilion got new costumes, and more. It is always fun to see the new designs and styles, although sometimes we do miss the old costumes! Magic Kingdom costumes Want some help planning your next Disney World vacation? 18. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is one of our favorite parades at Magic Kingdom. From the toy soldiers to Santa Claus, there is so much to see during this parade. However, usually you can only see the parade if you purchase tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Good news, though! Each year, for a limited time, you can catch this festive holiday parade during regular park hours. That’s right, no special ticket needed for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Just a ticket into Magic Kingdom will get you the option to see this special parade. From December 22nd until December 31st, you can watch Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade WITHOUT needing a ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The parade will run twice each day, at 12 PM and 3 PM. Keep in mind, this is a super busy time at Disney World, so if you want prime parade viewing, you will need to snag a spot early. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade We stopped by Magic Kingdom today to check out the parade, and we are happy to report it is just as fun as ever! It was definitely popular, and people were piled into Main Street, U.S.A. to catch the parade. Don’t forget that there are two performances each day, so choose the one that best fits into your day. Or the one where you can get the best spot! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade You can only catch this parade during regular park hours from December 22nd through December 31st, so plan accordingly. It follows the same route as the Festival of Fantasy parade: the parade starts in Frontierland and exits the park on Main Street, U.S.A. We love Main Street, U.S.A. to see the parade with the castle in the background, but there really isn’t a bad spot along the route to watch! Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade If you are looking for more holiday fun, also make sure to check out Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration (at 7:50 PM, 9 PM, and 10:35 PM) and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks (at 8:30 PM). Check the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date showtimes. These are also usually Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusives, but can be seen during the day for a limited time! Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration PLUS, you can also see Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, Magic Kingdom’s nighttime parade. This parade features shimmering lights and your favorite Disney characters. It does run in reverse — starting on Main Street, U.S.A. and finishing in Frontierland. 19. Disney World trips are HARD. Tons of fun, yes, but also lots of hard work. VentaPak in Disney World You’re walking miles and miles each day in the parks, much more than most people are used to, so you’ve gotta be sure that you have the right shoes that won’t give you blisters, your socks are tall enough, and not to mention making sure you’ve packed the right clothes for the weather. Since we’re in Disney World nearly every day, have stayed at ALL the hotels, eaten at EVERY restaurant, and have dealt with those last-minute emergencies, when we say these five items WILL make your trip easier, we mean it from the bottom of our hearts! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Never Suffer With Back Sweat Again VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer Back sweat may not sound like a big deal in the parks, or at least, not something you need something special to fix, but allow us to paint a picture: it’s a hot day in Disney World, you’re sweating all over, but ESPECIALLY on the small of your back since your backpack presses right up against it. You go to take your backpack off and eat inside a quick service restaurant where the AC is blasting, and suddenly all that sweat on the small of your back has you FREEZING, something you never thought could happen during the height of summer. Or, maybe you’re someone who struggles with their posture AND wants to avoid sweat in that awkward spot. That’s where VentaPak comes in! It’s a little expensive, yes, but it’s very well-made, and something you can use on ANY trip, anywhere, with basically any backpack. We think that makes it worth it! Check it out here! Never Run Out of Chargers Again MultiCharger for MagicBand+ If you’re concerned about not having enough charging ports in your hotel room, or just want to make charging all your devices easy and keep it in one place, the MultiCharger for MagicBand+ is perfect for you! By using just ONE outlet, you can charge four different USB devices, whether it’s a phone, MagicBand+, watch, or anything in between. We won’t go to the resort without it, and if we forget it? Yeah, we regret it pretty intensely (because then we can’t remember where we plugged everything in and it’s just a mess). Check it out here! Get Hot Easily in Disney World? Not Anymore! AMKEN Waist Fan We’ve tried a lot of fans in Disney World, but if you want the one that is THE MOST powerful and will keep you nice and cool, the AMKEN Waist Fan is the way to go. This can be clipped onto the waistband of your pants, hung around your neck on a lanyard, or you can set it down on a table to have airflow right in your face. We find this is especially helpful for those who may carry a lot of heat in their back or backside areas, but you could also have it blow up the front or side of your shirt as well, if you carry heat in those areas more. It does make a bit more of a whirring sound than other fans, but if that won’t bother you, then it’s completely worth it. Check it out here! Keep Your Refillable Mug Available at All Times ©Amazon If you’ve ever found yourself getting a bit frustrated with where to keep your refillable mug from your Disney World hotel throughout your day in the parks, the Refillable Mug Holder Sling can solve that problem for you! As the refillable mugs have handles, it makes them very hard, nearly impossible, to put in side pockets. Using this adjustable sling makes it easy to keep it on your person at all times and keep yourself hydrated. Plus, it’s black, so it goes with basically everything! Check it out here! Thin Walls? Not A Problem Anymore Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine Disney World hotels, especially Value Resorts, are specifically known for having thin walls, and if you’ve got a loud family next to you, or you’re close to a pool or busy hallway, you’ve gotta get the Dreamegg Portable Travel White Noise Machine to drown it out. We love that it comes with 31 different volume settings to perfectly match what you need, as well as 16 various soothing nature and white noise sounds to help you fall asleep, and then STAY asleep. It’s also great to turn on for nap time (for kids AND adults), no matter where you are! Check it out here! We’re constantly trying out new products in Disney World to see what’s REALLY worth your time and money, so be sure to stay tuned to our blog to get all the latest reviews and news! 21. A parade change is hitting Magic Kingdom in early January 2026! Disney Starlight Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is the newest parade to debut at Magic Kingdom. This nighttime parade follows in the footsteps of previous iconic nighttime parades like the Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic. It typically takes place two times per night, but in early January, there will only be one parade per night. If you’re heading to Disney World during this time, we’ve got all the details you need to know. Heads up if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom in early 2026! Disney Starlight showtimes are changing at Magic Kingdom. The parade typically happens twice each night, but beginning on January 6th, there will only be one Starlight Parade per night at 7:45 PM. This lasts through January 8th, and then after that, the parade returns to being shown twice per night. ©Disney Here’s a look at Disney Starlight showtimes at the beginning of January: January 1st-3rd: 7:45 PM and 10:30 PM January 4th-5th: 7:45 PM and 10:00 PM January 6th-8th: 7:45 PM only January 9th-10th: 7:45 PM and 10:00 PM Right now, the calendar only goes out through January 10th, so we’ll have to keep an eye on what happens after that. ©Disney You can expect some more crowds during the one nightly showing, as there will be fewer opportunities for folks to catch the parade, so everyone will likely want to attend the one show. As of now, Disney hasn’t revealed why there will only be one showing of Starlight per night, but it could very well be a website glitch — or something else altogether. Magic Kingdom will be operating with regular park hours during this time, so it’s really anyone’s guess at the moment. Disney Starlight In case you haven’t had the chance to see Starlight yet, it follows in the footsteps of previous iconic nighttime parades like the Main Street Electrical Parade and SpectroMagic. The parade begins on Main Street, U.S.A., and travels towards Frontierland for its parade route (in a reverse of the Festival of Fantasy daytime parade route). Disney Starlight It features beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films, and some have made their nighttime parade debut in Disney Starlight! As it begins, Disney Starlight is “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from the Disney animated classic, Pinocchio. Learn more about Disney Starlight here! We also recommend refreshing the My Disney Experience app as more rides and times become available throughout the day! Finally, please note that Lightning Lane lines are likely to be longer than usual, so be patient and kind to both guests and Cast Members. Crowds at Hollywood Studios If you are looking to save money by not purchasing Lightning Lane, we have plenty of tips to still make the most of your trip! 24. We LOVE our Disney Food Blog readers, and we love the big opinions that come with it. Y’all don’t hold back in the comments, and we love hearing your thoughts and ideas about Disney Parks. ©Disney Disney recently announced the timeline for Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom getting repainted to its original gray and blue colors, and we’re sharing our favorite comments from our Instagram page (which you should totally follow by the way). A lot of fans are excited for the repainting! The castle was painted pink to celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary, and years later, we’re finally going back. One commenter said, “Thank goodness. The pink was all wrong,” and another said, “I can’t wait for it to be dreamy and ethereal again with the white.” Cinderella Castle 2019 “Good. It was awful and NOT her castle,” was another comment. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland has more pink colors, and a lot of people didn’t love the pink coming to Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland We loved this comment that said, “As Gen X, original first year guest, excited for my grandkids to see it as I knew it throughout my childhood.” The gray and blue are so nostalgic, we’re pretty excited, too. Cinderella Castle Many fans were concerned about the timeline, which we totally understand. The repainting is confirmed to start in January, but the exact date is still unknown. We think it’s going to be around January 28th, which is when a modified Let The Magic Begin welcome show will happen. There were a lot of comments about specific months, and it seems like everyone is asking, “When do they expect it to be finished?” Let The Magic Begin Right now, the work is expected to be completed later next year, but in Disney talk, that could mean anything. It could mean June, or it could mean December. We’ll be keeping our eye on this to see how progress is coming along and how this will affect your trip. The moat will be drained, and once painting starts, the cranes will be lowered and out of sight by noon each day, which is pretty great for pictures. Cranes, cranes, cranes As with any change at Disney, some are excited, and some are dreading it, which we understand. Someone said, “I love Disney, but there’s so much construction going on right now with some rides down.” Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land, and Villains Land are currently being built near Liberty Square and Frontierland, which is causing a LOT of construction walls and equipment. Other attractions are going through refurbishments and aren’t open yet, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. Construction for Tom Sawyer Island Another comment said, “It stands out so much better against the sky when it’s pink.” The pink did make for some awesome photos. Others think, “It’s a big waste of time and pointless.” Magic Kingdom There were a few comments along the line of “can you bring back dream lights,” and YES PLEASE DISNEY! The castle used to get fully decked out in Christmas lights, and we’ve missed it for years. Cinderella Castle Now you tell us: what do you think about the painting starting soon? 25. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but when Disney announced an Encanto-themed ride was coming to Animal Kingdom, I cried. The movie means everything to me, and to enter their magical world and go inside Castia feels like a dream come true. ©Disney Every day, we’re getting one step closer to Pueblo Esperanza (aka the Tropical Americas area) opening in Animal Kingdom, and y’all, you can see the structure. I repeat, YOU CAN SEE THE STRUCTURE!!! We’ve been keeping an eye on construction since, well, since it was announced, but Disney has been closing DinoLand U.S.A. in phases to turn it into Pueblo Esperanza. The final part of DinoLand will close on February 2nd (rest in peace DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus), and the way Disney has been working on the area, we wouldn’t be surprised if changes start on February 3rd. There she is! Right now, though, we’ve been watching Disney working with a lot of dirt. So much dirt. We’ve been waiting and waiting for the dirt to turn into something, and well, it has! The structure for the Encanto ride is currently being built and is now vertical. I see it! While there are walls blocking guests from entering the area, you can see over them fairly easily, and it’s clearly a structure. I can’t say it looks like Casita very much, but you know, we have to start somewhere. Walking on over We actually saw the beams being brought in and put into place, which was super cool to see. We could probably sit and watch them working on it all day, but there’s so much more to discover in Animal Kingdom. Coming in hot! In addition to the Encanto ride, DINOSAUR will be turning into an Indiana Jones ride, and there will be a gorgeous carousel with tons of different Disney animals to check out. That’s not to mention restaurants and shopping, which we don’t have many details on, but we can’t wait to check it out. The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. ©Disney Did you notice in some of the concept art that Casita doesn’t look very big? That’s because, as you enter the house, there will likely be a larger area behind it where most of the actual ride will be, such as the green mountains behind the house. We’ve seen this technique used on many Disney rides, but one of the easiest to figure out is the Haunted Mansion. Yes, you enter the mansion, but there’s a huge warehouse where the ride actually takes place, since the mansion isn’t that big. ©Disney Pueblo Esperanza is set to open in 2027, so don’t mind me if I’m counting down the days until it happens. I will promptly be the first one in line for the ride when it opens, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog, where we’re in the parks every day, keeping track of updates and progress on your favorite attractions.
