We’re headed to Disney Springs in 2026! Of course, we LOVE the theme parks at Disney World, but do not sleep on the dining and shopping district of the resort. Disney Springs has so many underrated and overlooked gems. So whether you’re planning a non-park day or you’re an Annual Passholder filling a blackout day, you need to visit Disney Springs. Truffle Mushroom Frites While you’re at Disney Springs, you’ll see so many restaurants and snack spots. You likely can’t go wrong with any of them, but we definitely have our favorites. If you have picky eaters, are going out for a date, or need to stick to a budget, we’ve got you covered. Best for Families eet by Maneet Chauhan Mango and Guava Cheesecake! Eet by Maneet Chauhan is a quick-service restaurant that serves up “traditional [Indian] flavor with modern flair.” It’s a hidden gem that the whole family will love. You’ll find remixed takes on favorites like Pimento Whipped Paneer or the Tandoori Chicken Poutine. There’s plenty of seating here, and the food has a cozy home-cooked feel. Spread from eet by Maneet Chauhan While we love eet, it is important to know that if you have a picky eater in the family, you may want to opt for one of the other restaurants in this list. The flavors at eet are Indian-inspired, meaning they have big, bold, and bright flavors that you won’t find anywhere else in Disney World. Summer House on the Lake Summer House on the Lake Summer House on the Lake is great for families because there’s so much here! You can get lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and on-the-go breakfast. There’s an attached cookie bar bakery, three different bars, and a rosé bar (rosé all day, am I right?). 8th Street Frita Burger The food is California-style with a breezy beach atmosphere. You can grab flavorful salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and more made with garden-fresh ingredients and seasonal Florida ingredients. There’s something here for everyone, even if you’re a picky eater, and it’s all done very well. Earl of Sandwich Earl of Sandwich Earl of Sandwich is not unique to Disney World, but it is a great budget-friendly and family-friendly option. It offers reasonably priced hot sandwiches, wraps, salads, smoothies, lemonade, and prepared “Grab & Go” items. Plus, you can get kid favorites like mac & cheese, tater tots, and grilled cheeses. One of our favorites is the Holiday Turkey Sandwich; it’s pretty much a Thanksgiving meal in a sandwich. DELISH. The Holiday Turkey sandwich Best for Adults Homecomin’ Shine Bar and Social Shine Bar We already LOVE Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin‘, and Homecomin’ Shine Bar and Social is very similar to the main restaurant. However, the Shine Bar is a great place for adults only. We will say, brunch here is our favorite. But you really can’t go wrong dining here any time of the day. Friend Chicken and Doughnuts You can enjoy the fantastic food off the main menu (like juicy and tender fried chicken of your dreams) AND moonshine-based cocktails in the outdoor seating area or on the go. You will also leave dreaming about their Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits. Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuit Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Technically, Jock Linsey’s Hangar Bar is family-friendly, but we know adults will love hanging out here, grabbing some eats, and a few specialty drinks. The lounge is based around the oft-trusted pilot for Indiana Jones, and it serves uniquely themed cocktails and tapas – like the Air Pirate’s Cargo Loaded Pretzel, the Snakebite Sliders (“Why did it have to be snakes?”), the vodka-based Reggie’s Revenge Cocktail, and SO MUCH MORE. They also release some of the most incredible themed food and drinks around Halloween and the Holidays. Turkey Egg Rolls If you are visiting around that time, we highly recommend stopping here to check them out. Phantom Dumplings It is important to note that Jock Lindsey’s does not take reservations. Wine Bar George Wine Bar George Wine Bar George is a great place to grab a glass of wine, a bite to eat, and people-watch from the upstairs balcony seating area (there are indoor seating options, too). There are HUNDREDS of wine options, but if you have a hard time picking just one (or two), the servers are trained to help you find the perfect wine for you. Saganaki on Fire — Dinner and a show?! Yes, please! The food here ranges from small plates (like hummus and crispy Mac and cheese bites) to charcuterie boards to family-style plates. You can also get brunch here on Saturdays and Sundays, just be sure to grab a reservation! Crispy Mac & Cheese Bites Best on a Budget The Polite Pig The Polite Pig Get Michelin-recognized Modern Barbecue in a variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items at a budget-friendly price! The Polite Pig could totally fall under family-friendly favorites, too. Southern Pig Sandwich It has great options for everyone in the family, including a kids’ menu featuring smoked turkey, chicken tenders, and mac & cheese. And for the adults, ALL drinks are served on tap! Morimoto Asia Street Food Morimoto Asia Street Food Spread If the signature restaurant, Morimoto Asia, isn’t in your budget, but you really want to try some of iconic Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s Pan-Asian cuisine, then stop by the quick-service counter, Morimoto Asia Street Food, instead! You’ll find options ranging from $5 to $18, including noodles, sushi, bao, salmon, and skewers. Best for Date Night Splitsville Luxury Lanes Splitsville Looking for a casual date night option? Check out Splitsville Luxury Lanes! You can play several rounds of bowling while dining on upscale pub grub. You’ll find a pineapple Dole Whip pina colada, pizza, burgers, and more here. Frozen Flight Plus, you don’t have to play to dine or dine to play. But when you make the reservation, make sure you clarify exactly what you want to do — play, dine, or both. The Edison The Edison If you’re looking for a place to go on your date night that is less casual but still relaxed and fun, try The Edison! This spot has an industrial-gothic 1920s theme and features a menu with classic American food presented in modern ways. But what really makes The Edison a great date night option is all the fun drinks and events. The PB BB Electric Co. You can get an old-timey soda, a non-alcoholic beverage, or a high roller cocktail and stop by for a cocktail or mixology class with your date. Check out The Edison’s website to find out what events will be hosted in 2026. Best for Brunch Raglan Road All This… And Eggs On Top The Rollicking Raglan Brunch is served up on Saturdays and Sundays. You’ll find menu items such as pancakes, avocado toast, and Eggs Benedict, but they’ll be way elevated (and with witty names that’ll make you chuckle), making them far superior to your local diner. Plus, since the brunch is served on the weekend, you’ll get to enjoy your meal AND river dancing and live Irish music up on the main stage. The BOATHOUSE The BOATHOUSE Consider a nautical-themed brunch with live entertainment for your next brunch experience! The Boathouse hosts the Captain’s Sing-Along Brunch, during which you can sing and request songs from dueling piano players. (Not every room has the piano players, but if you end up in a room without them, you’ll still enjoy light, themed music). Full spread from The BOATHOUSE You can also enjoy tasty brunch items with a nautical twist, such as Crab Cakes Benedict, along with chorizo breakfast tacos, and the Biscoff cookie waffle. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Homecomin’ Hash! As we previously mentioned, we’re big fans of Homecomin’. It doesn’t have the same live entertainment during brunch as The Boathouse and Raglan Road, but the fantastic, home-cooked food makes up for that. You get to enjoy a limited-time brunch menu with good ol’ southern specialities, like the fried chicken and donuts, short rib hash, and a heaping biscuits and gravy plate. We think you’ll be pleased wherever you go for a bite at Disney Springs, but when you’re headed there in 2026, give these top restaurants a try! We’ve enjoyed LOTS of meals at each of these, and they are hands down some of our favorites. A new year means new laws, and according to the Los Angeles Times, California just dropped a bunch of new laws, some of which can affect your trip to Disneyland. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland From laws on food delivery to rental cars, here’s everything you need to know if you’re traveling to California soon. Food Delivery ©Disney Food delivery services like Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Postmates will now be required to provide a full refund to customers if their order is not delivered or if the wrong order is delivered. They must also provide customer service support with actual people to resolve requests for refunds. ©Target They are also banned from using tips or gratuity to offset the base pay of the delivery driver and require clear itemized pay breakdowns. Rental Car Estimates Rental Cars at Orlando International Airport Rental car companies are no longer required to provide customers with a good-faith estimate of the total charges, including taxes and fees, on a price quote for a reservation. Under the new law, they must also disclose whether the vehicles are gas-powered or electric. Expanding Outdoor Dining Flexibility ©Disney This law now allows open-kitchen restaurants to have windows, folding doors, or a non-fixed storefront to give restaurant owners greater flexibility in providing outdoor premises. Sounds like more opportunities to enjoy the California weather! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all the details you need to know before heading to your next Disney vacation. If DINOSAUR is one of those rides you automatically squeeze in every Animal Kingdom day, you’re going to want to read this now. Dinosaur We know how easy it is to miss big closure news when you’re focused on planning dining, park days, and where you’re staying. Disney has officially confirmed the permanent closing date for DINOSAUR, and there is now a very real last day to ride. If this attraction is on your must-do list, or if you just love screaming at dinos in the dark, here’s exactly what you need to know. When DINOSAUR Is Permanently Closing Disney has confirmed that DINOSAUR will permanently close on February 2nd, 2026. That means the very last day to ride will be February 1st, 2026. DINOSAUR So yes, there is still time. You don’t need to panic if your next trip is soon, but you do want to keep this date in the back of your mind if you’re planning a 2026 vacation. Once February 2nd hits, that Time Rover is officially parked for good. DINOSAUR Disney shared that while DINOSAUR closes in 2026, the legacy and asteroid impact of the Dino Institute will live forever in our hearts. Honestly, that feels like the only appropriate way to say goodbye to this ride. What’s Already Closed in DinoLand U.S.A. If you’ve walked through DinoLand recently and thought it felt oddly empty, you’re not wrong. A huge chunk of the land has already permanently closed. Construction At the time of this writing, TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, The Boneyard, Trilo Bites, and Dino Bite Snacks are all already gone for good. At this point, DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are the final major pieces still standing. Construction Restaurantosaurus will also permanently close on February 2nd, 2026, which means February 1st will be your last chance to eat there. If that spot is part of your Animal Kingdom routine, or if you just love its chaotic cafeteria vibes, it might be worth one last meal. Why DINOSAUR Is Closing in the First Place This closure is happening because DinoLand U.S.A. is being completely transformed into the Tropical Americas, also known as Pueblo Esperanza. Pueblo Esperanza construction The new area will include a large hacienda that will be one of the biggest quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World. It will also feature two major attractions themed to Indiana Jones and Encanto. It’s on its way! Construction is already underway, and Disney has confirmed that Tropical Americas is expected to open in 2027. Should You Make Time for DINOSAUR Before It Closes? If you haven’t ridden DINOSAUR in a while, or if you’ve never ridden it at all, we really think this is one you should prioritize before it’s gone. It is loud, intense, chaotic, and slightly unhinged, which is exactly why it’s got such a loyal fan base. DINOSAUR Pre-show: Dr. Helen Marsh and Dr. Grant Seeker The good news is that you still have plenty of time, and riding DINOSAUR doesn’t require any complicated planning, unless you don’t have a trip planned during this timeline, of course. If you do have a trip planned or if you’re an AP, just make sure it’s on your list before February 1st, 2026. DINOSAUR We’ll continue to keep you posted on all the latest Animal Kingdom construction and closure updates, so keep it right here at the Disney Food Blog and stay in the know! We talk about shoes a lot on this site, but that’s because we’ve all been there…we’ve all worn the wrong shoes to Disney World and ended up with sore, blistered feet. What you put on your feet matters. ©runDisney That’s even MORE true if you’re a runner and participating in runDisney events. Well, if you want to score a great new running shoe (that would probably be good for walking around the parks, too), you’ll want to check out a new Disney collection by Brooks (yep, that’s a brand we talk about a lot here). Brooks has collaborated with Disney to bring some brand-new limited-edition runDisney shoes to the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which is happening in Disney World from January 7th through January 11th. The shoes are designed to provide everything you need from a running shoe, along with that classic Disney storytelling. There are the Adrenaline GTS 25 runDisney shoes for $165 with a special runDisney design and a gradient blue and white color scheme. You’ll also find some subtle Mickeys on the shoes, too. ©runDisney The Ghost 17 Mickey Mouse Shoes for $170 are completely themed around Mickey. You’ve got those classic contrasting colors of red, black, and yellow, plus a Mickey silhouette on the heel and Mickey’s signature on the side. These would go great with a Mickey-themed running outfit! ©runDisney You can also get the Ghost 17 Chip n’ Dale Shoes featuring everyone’s favorite chipmunks for $170. These shoes are done up in Chip ‘n’ Dale’s signature colors, with one shoe having black stitching and Chip, and the other shoe having red stitching and Dale. TOO cute. They even have a fuzzy tongue. ©runDisney The Ghost Max 3 runDisney WDW for $170 features everything you love about Disney World. These metallic shoes are sprinkled with pixie dust and have Cinderella Castle on the heel. They’re MAGICAL. ©runDisney Okay, Stitch lovers, there’s a shoe for you, too. The Glycerin 22 Stitch for $175 features your favorite alien on a shoe in Stitch’s iconic blue colors. ©runDisney You’ll also be able to pick up some special Lace Badges for your shoes in a 6-pack that commemorates the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. The badges have charms for race distance. ©runDisney If you want to get your hands on these shoes and Lace Badges, you’ll need to visit the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports starting on January 7th. There will be a virtual queue, but you can visit the runDisney website for more details. Note that you are only allowed to purchase two of each design (for a total of 10 pairs) per person. The time has finally come when we say goodbye to two hotel perks at Disneyland. Pixar Place Hotel Staying at a Disneyland or Disney World hotel can come with some major perks like free water park tickets, free transportation, and even extra time in the parks. Unfortunately, we’re cutting two perks from our list for the new year. If you’re staying at a Disneyland hotel, you no longer have Early Theme Park Entry or access to the Pixar Place Hotel entrance to Disney California Adventure starting on January 5th. WALL-E at Pixar Place Hotel Instead of having Early Entry, where you could enter a park 30 minutes before it opens to the rest of the public, guests will receive one Lightning Lane per person, per stay. Previously, you could use the Early Entry day of your trip, but now you will only receive one Lightning Lane, no matter how long your trip is. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIGHTNING LANES IN DISNEYLAND Lightning Lane entrance at Disneyland’s Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Your Lightning Lane will be part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, so you can use it to skip almost all popular rides except for Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland. Beforehand, Disneyland would host Early Hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Disney California Adventure opened 30 minutes early on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so it’s nice with the Lightning Lane that you can use it at either park on whichever day. Space Mountain Lightning Lane Also starting on January 5th, if you’re staying at the Pixar Place Hotel, you will not be able to use the entrance into Disney California Adventure. This is due to the construction and new projects in the works, but it’s a bummer to miss out on a special entrance with fewer lines. Fantasyland looks sweet and simple, but it has a few secrets that can totally make or break your day. Fantasyland Fantasyland is one of the most popular areas in Magic Kingdom, which means it fills up fast and stays busy. That also means there are a few unspoken rules that experienced parkgoers quietly follow to keep things feeling a little more manageable. If you know these ahead of time, you can avoid unnecessary stress and enjoy this land the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Do Not Be Afraid to Go Against the Grain If you are planning to arrive at Magic Kingdom right at park opening, it can feel like there is only one “right” move. Everyone power walks straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and it creates this unspoken pressure that you should be doing the same thing. Here is the thing. You don’t have to. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Unless you arrived well before park opening and were close to the front of the crowd, the wait for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is still going to be long. All of those rope droppers have the same plan, and they are all heading to the same place. You might end up waiting far longer than you expected, which can be frustrating when the day is just getting started. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Fantasyland actually works better if you zig when everyone else zags. Attractions like Peter Pan’s Flight, Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea with Ariel, and even “it’s a small world” can have much more reasonable waits first thing in the morning. You can knock out multiple rides while a large chunk of the crowd is still standing in one very long line. Fantasyland crowds Mine Train is still worth riding, but it does not have to be your first move of the day. Sometimes saving it for later in the evening is the real win. Use the TRON Pathway to Get to Fantasyland This one feels almost too good to be true, which is why so many people miss it. If you are coming from Tomorrowland and heading into Fantasyland, take the pathway near TRON Lightcycle/Run. It connects Tomorrowland to Fantasyland and is one of the quietest walkways in the park. While the main Fantasyland entrances can feel chaotic, especially in the morning and around parade times, this path is usually calm and easy to navigate. Pathway from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland next to TRON It is a great option if you are pushing a stroller, trying to get somewhere quickly, or just need a breather from the crowds. It also drops you into Fantasyland without the sensory overload that can come with the busier entrances. Once you start using this path, you will wonder why you ever did it any other way. Fantasyland Has Some of the Best Restrooms in the Park We know this is not the most glamorous tip, but it might be one of the most important. Fantasyland is home to some of the cleanest and most reliable restrooms in Magic Kingdom. The restrooms next to Pinocchio Village Haus are among the most recently renovated, which means they are bright, modern, and well maintained. They are a solid choice almost any time of day. Pinocchio Village Haus restrooms The restrooms near Gaston’s Tavern are another great option and are typically kept very clean. Gaston’s Tavern If you are looking for something even quieter, head toward the restrooms near The Barnstormer. These are often overlooked and tend to be far less crowded than others nearby. Knowing where the good restrooms are can save you time and stress, especially during peak hours. The Barnstormer Fantasyland can be magical, but it can also be overwhelming if you do not know how to navigate it. Following these unspoken rules can help you slow down, avoid unnecessary frustration, and actually enjoy being there. As always, we are here to help you feel more prepared before you ever set foot in Magic Kingdom, so stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips! “Now I Have Guilt” — Are You Also Breaking This Unspoken Disney World Food Rule? This simple closure at EPCOT might be causing a bigger issue than you might think. Refreshment Port The Refreshment Port in EPCOT is a quick spot to grab poutine and fountain drinks, but now it’s going under refurbishment that might mess up the festivals. The refurbishment starts January 12th and currently doesn’t have a listed end date. With the EPCOT Festival of the Arts starting January 16th and running through February 23rd, it doesn’t look like the Refreshment Port will be part of this year’s lineup. Refreshment Port Full Spread The menus have not been released yet, but for 2025, you could grab: Caprese Poutine Traditional Poutine Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie 81 Bay Brewing Co. Italian Pilsner Boyd & Blair Blood Orange Cosmo Boyd & Blair Blood Orange Cosmo While it’s possible these items might move somewhere else, it’s also likely that they will not bring any of these items back for 2026. Since there is no reopening date, it might be closed for the Flower & Garden Festival, which runs from March 4th to June 1st. Flower and Garden Festival There’s not another spot to grab poutine, but there are tons of other food options in EPCOT for quick snacks, including the Canada booth, which is close by, and the Swirled Showcase, which usually has sweet treats like soft serve and floats to enjoy. If you’ve ever done a full Disney World day, you already know the deal. We love Loungefly bags! You’re carrying sunscreen, phone chargers, snacks, ponchos, maybe a bubble wand you swore you wouldn’t buy. And you’re walking…a lot! That means your bag choice matters way more than you think. Know, we love a cute Loungefly moment as much as anyone, but if it’s digging into your shoulders by 2PM in Magic Kingdom, that vibe disappears real fast. So let’s talk about the most comfortable Loungefly options for Disney World, specifically backpacks versus crossbodies, and which styles actually hold up during those long park days. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We are in the parks every single day. So we have really tested all different kinds of bags. Of course, people are different, so there are differing opinions even between our own reporters. Here is what we have found after hours of testing bags in Disney World. Loungefly Disney Minnie Floral and Lace Mini Backpack ©Amazon If comfort is your top priority, this one is a strong contender. The Fantasia Light Up Mini Backpack distributes weight evenly across both shoulders, which makes a huge difference once you’re several miles into your day. The straps are sturdy, the bag holds its shape, and you can fit all the essentials without having to play Tetris every time you open it. ©Amazon Plus, let’s be honest, Sorcerer Mickey casting magic while the stars light up is a total showstopper. The gold foil and shimmer faux leather make it feel special without sacrificing wearability. This is a great choice if you want something eye-catching that still feels practical. View on SALE Loungefly Disney Rapunzel Lantern Mini Backpack ©Amazon This one is another backpack win for comfort lovers. The Rapunzel Lantern Mini Backpack is lightweight, which is key when you’re trying not to feel like you’re hauling bricks around EPCOT. The LED lantern details are subtle but magical, especially once the sun goes down. ©Amazon Because it’s designed with a roomy interior, you won’t feel like you’re constantly fighting the zipper. It sits comfortably against your back and doesn’t feel bulky, even when it’s full. If you’re a backpack person through and through, this one is an easy yes. View on SALE Loungefly Disney Mickey Mouse Corduroy Ears Mini Backpack ©Amazon Now let’s talk versatility. This corduroy Mickey ears bag is technically a convertible, and that’s where it really shines for Disney days. You can wear it as a mini backpack in the morning when you’re loaded up with snacks and water, then switch it to a crossbody later when you’ve lightened the load. ©Amazon The corduroy material makes it feel softer against your body than some of the stiffer faux leather styles. That’s a small thing, but when it’s rubbing against you all day, it matters. This is a great option if you like having flexibility without bringing multiple bags. View on SALE Loungefly Minnie Mouse Bow Faux Leather Mini Backpack ©Amazon If you love sparkle but still want comfort, this convertible bag is surprisingly wearable. As a backpack, it does a solid job distributing weight, and as a crossbody, it works best for lighter park days or evenings. ©Amazon The ombre sequin ears and glitter front pocket are fun without feeling over the top. Just keep in mind that crossbodies can start to feel heavy on one shoulder if you overpack. This one is best if you’re disciplined about carrying only the essentials. View on SALE Loungefly Mickey & Friends Convertible Backpack & Tote Bag ©Amazon In our opinion, this one is the best of both worlds. This bag converts from a tote to a backpack, which is kind of a game-changer for Disney World. When worn as a backpack, it’s comfortable, roomy, and easy on your shoulders. When you want quick access to everything, the tote mode comes in clutch. ©Amazon It fits more than a standard mini backpack, which is great for longer days or families sharing a bag. The classic Mickey and Friends design feels timeless, and the color blocking keeps it fun. If you want comfort, flexibility, and space, this one checks all the boxes. View on SALE We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

While you might be thinking about all the rides you’re going to hop on at Disney World, you can’t forget about meeting some of the characters! Seeing your family’s favorite movie characters come to life right in front of you is only one of the reasons Disney Parks is so magical. The Astounding Donaldo at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Magic Kingdom Before you head to Magic Kingdom to meet some of the Fab Five (aka Mickey and his pals), you need to know about this character change. The friends at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus will not be meeting inside their meet and greet spots, but will be outside in Storybook Circus. This goes for the Dashing Disney Pals, Minnie and Daisy… Daisy! …and the Daring Disney Pals, Donald and Goofy. Because of this, you might not be able to see the wait times for the meet and greets on the Disney World app. There’s currently not a reopening date for their meet and greets, but the website says this is a temporary change, so we expect them to go back to their spots at some point. Disney World summers are NO JOKE! It can feel like you’re sweating at the rate of a Dole Whip that’s actively sitting on the sun while also touching at least 1,500 people all at once. Disney Cooling Towels We love going to Disney any chance we get, but it’s no secret that the summer can be a physically challenging time. To help keep you cool, you might be tempted to buy a Cooling Towel in Disney World, but we’re about to share a secret that will stop you in your tracks. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. There are a few ways to stay cool during the summer. Drinking plenty of water, staying indoors, and wearing breathable clothes are just a few ways to help fight off the heat. Another way is by using cooling towels, but you need to buy them before you get to the parks! Sukeen Cooling Towels Cooling towels Sure, you can grab a cooling towel in Disney World, but it’s also going to cost you $22.99 for one of them. That’s not that bad, especially when you feel like you’re slowly melting into asphalt. What if we told you there’s a better option? If you’re serious about planning and saving money, you need to check out the Sukeen Cooling Towels! Sukeen Cooling towel These come in a pack of 4 with different color variations. They’re super lightweight, breathable, and can help keep you cool as often as needed throughout your vacation. Cooling Towels These towels also come with a carrying case and small carabiner so you can wrap them up and attach them to your bag with ease. Not only are they great, but you can get 4 of them for HALF THE PRICE compared to only one at Disney. We know we say it a lot, but celebrities are Disney adults, too. They might not be like us in many ways, but they still get giggly when they meet Mickey, they obsess over their Disney collections (John Stamos, we’re looking at you), and they frequent La Cava del Tequila so much that they get their own table and/or drink. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Well, one celebrity recently visited Disney World for her birthday, and she was experiencing pure happiness, especially after riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The celebrity? Emmy-award winner Sheryl Lee Ralph (who we LOVE on Abbott Elementary). We love seeing celebrities experience the same joy we do in the parks, and we hope they never lose that part of themselves (and we hope you don’t either). The holidays have just ended, which means a lot of us are looking at our bank accounts, going “YIKES,” and doing all we can to rebuild our savings over the next few months. We were doing just that…and then we saw this. Care for any tea? Now, listen, we talk about merchandise all the time here, and we get ourselves into LOTS of trouble with our own wallets because Disney merchandise is, most of the time, absolutely adorable, and we can’t resist. We wanted to save money, we TOLD ourselves we were going to, and then this new Alice in Wonderland Loungefly bag completely destroyed that, because…well, just LOOK AT IT! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This Bag is $130 Of Amazing Alice in Wonderland Details! ©Amazon Alice in Wonderland still goes down in our minds as a truly unforgettable film — partly because it’s a classic, but also because it’s quiteeeee strange (to be completely honest). We love that about it, because it really does make it hard to miss! That’s why the Alice in Wonderland Sketch Loungefly Mini-Backpack caught our eye immediately, and the more we looked at it, the more our jaws dropped. ©Amazon At first, paying $130 for a Loungefly bag seemed absurd, but the detailing on this bag is next level, and it totally makes sense. The front pocket is Alice herself, surrounded by tons of flowers. On one pocket, you’ll find Alice surrounded by a gorgeous pattern, and a similar pattern surrounds the Mad Hatter on the other pocket. Plus, the charm on the zipper is the iconic “Drink Me” bottle! The front of the bag itself really blew us away, though, because it features the main characters from the animated film! You’ve got Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the March Hare. ©Amazon The design detail doesn’t stop there! The bag itself is white and has other items from the film inside the design. You’ll find the keyhole, the March Hare’s clock, a teacup, the Mad Hatter’s hat, the Queen of Hearts, the March Hare, and so much more. The back straps of the bag are black with playing card decals, which also easily tie into the film. ©Amazon Seriously, this may be one of the most detailed bags we’ve EVER seen, and it’s perfect for people who adore Alice in Wonderland, and/or the film has had a big impact on their lives. Grab it right here! We’ll continue to keep an eye out for all the latest and greatest Disney merchandise, so stay tuned to DFB to keep up with it all! View the full article

AI is at the center of debates in fields ranging from politics and the veracity of news to sports and entertainment. Recently, Disney announced a game-changing business move that is going to make them a major player in the space for years to come. ©Disney x OpenAI In December 2025, Disney announced a massive deal with artificial intelligence juggernaut OpenAI that saw Disney acquire a stake in the company for a $1 billion investment. The two companies also signed a licensing deal that will allow users of OpenAI’s video creation platform Sora to create clips using iconic characters from Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars franchises in the form of “fan-inspired Sora short form videos” into which viewers can also insert themselves on Disney+. The deal is a potentially revolutionary one for Hollywood. As The Hollywood Reporter put it, it “changes everything.” The publication went on to say, “Suddenly Darth Vader isn’t just a character that you watch — it’s one you create with. And with the deal, Disney+ is set to become not just a platform where you can dial up your favorite shows and movies, but one where you can drop yourself into the action or even rearrange it yourself, all with just a few prompts.” ©Disney x OpenAI While the deal will clearly have massive and wide-ranging ramifications on Disney’s content production, many are also wondering if — or more likely when– the deal will impact the Disney theme park experience. Given how glowingly Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke about the deal, it seems likely. At the time of the announcement, Iger said, “The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence marks an important moment for our industry, and through this collaboration with OpenAI we will thoughtfully and responsibly extend the reach of our storytelling through generative AI, while respecting and protecting creators and their works. Bringing together Disney’s iconic stories and characters with OpenAI’s groundbreaking technology puts imagination and creativity directly into the hands of Disney fans in ways we’ve never seen before, giving them richer and more personal ways to connect with the Disney characters and stories they love.” ©Disney x OpenAI So how could Disney integrate AI into the parks? Character meet & greets seem like a safe bet for an early implementation. In recent years, Disney has shown off interactive motion-capture animated versions of a “live size” Tinkerbell and a Mickey Mouse who was able to tell us his favorite memories (“working alongside Walt”), his favorite Disney snack (churros or turkey legs or hotdogs, as it was “hard to choose”), his favorite ride (Space Mountain), favorite park (“Disneyland, because it’s where it all started”), and finally his pick for mayor of Toontown (“Scrooge McDuck” which was a… surprise). These types of meet & greets powered through generative AI could totally change the game when it comes to in-park entertainment. Mickey CONVERSING! From there, we can picture several possibilities. Perhaps guests will be able to turn over information to Disney, which can then be fed into an AI generator to hyper-personalize ride experience. Imagine being on Pirates of the Caribbean and the pirates calling you out by name, or having a whole backstory as the “Rebel Spy” on Star Tours, for example. Or maybe characters will be able to “follow” guests through the day, “learning” about them across the park. Maybe guests will even be able to insert themselves into the narrative of popular attractions. There are likely guests who would metaphorically die for (and literally pay for) the chance to be a ghost in the Haunted Mansion. ©Disney x OpenAI While there’s no official word on how Disney’s deal with OpenAI will be integrated into the company’s theme parks as of yet, it seems like a bit of a foregone conclusion that AI will be part of the Disney Parks experience at some point in the near future. Something we took for granted will soon be coming to an end. Now, we’ve already had to say goodbye to free checked bags on Southwest Airlines, but soon, the entire way you buy seats and board the plane is also going to change. Flying with Southwest Southwest has made a series of policy changes with its seating, but the biggest changes will begin on January 27th. We’re going to break those new seating rules down so you can make sense of them. Here are the policy changes that will start on Southwest Airlines on January 27th. Assigned Seating Boarding positions will be gone forever on January 27th as Southwest Airlines embraces assigned seating. This means that you’ll be assigned a specific seat to sit in, just like you do with every other airline. Previously, Southwest let passengers board according to their boarding number, and you could choose whatever seat was open. That’s no longer the case. Goodbye boarding numbers There are also now three specific categories for seating on Southwest Airlines: Extra Legroom — guarantees seats with additional legroom, like exit rows, in the forward part of the cabin. This group also boards first in Groups 1 and 2. These are also the most expensive seats. Preferred Seats — standard legroom seats in the forward and middle part of the cabin. This group is boarding groups 3 through 5, so their boarding time is in the middle of the boarding process. These are the second most expensive seats. Standard Seats — seats in a standard location from whatever is left after extra legroom and preferred seats are taken. Seats are in the middle and rear cabin, and many will be middle seats. This group is boarding groups 6 through 8, meaning they board last. These are the least expensive seats. Boarding This means that boarding a Southwest flight is going to change. Instead of lining up by boarding number, boarding groups will be called, just like flying with every other airline. Your boarding group will be printed on your boarding pass. Obviously, if you paid more for your Extra Legroom or a Preferred Seat, you get a higher boarding group. Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport The upside is that boarding will be a little more relaxed because you no longer have to line up in numerical order. Elite Status and Credit Card Benefits Note that if you have Elite Status with Southwest, you may qualify to get something beyond standard seats. A-List Preferred can get free Extra Legroom seats, while A-List can get a free Preferred Seat selection. Southwest at MCO Those who book with a Southwest Airlines credit card can also get one free checked bag. Southwest credit card holders are also guaranteed to be in boarding group 5. “Customers of Size” Passenger Rule Changes Southwest has also changed its rules for passengers who require more than one seat. In the past, Customers of Size have not been required to purchase a second seat in advance, although it is recommended. The current policy is that additional seats are provided to passengers who need them, for free, when available, with refunds for additional seats available after travel. Southwest Airplanes On January 27th, though, that rule will change. Southwest will require its “customers of size” to purchase an extra seat and “pay any applicable seat fee” before they can board an aircraft. Refunds are still available after travel if additional seats are available for these passengers, but it depends on both seats being in the same fare class, the refund request being made within 90 days of travel, and the plane having “at least one” additional open seat. A refund may still be available if the plane is full, if some of the empty seats were being saved for off-duty airline employees. ©Southwest Airlines It might seem a little confusing, but if you’ve ever flown with other airlines, the new Southwest rules and policies are very similar to those. In other words, Southwest is now just like every other airline out there. “Aisle Lice” Could Cause Chaos on Southwest Airlines Flights After Boarding Changes Are Implemented Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! If Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has ever been a must-do on your Hollywood Studios day, this news is probably going to hit you right in the feels. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Disney has officially confirmed that Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will permanently close in Disney’s Hollywood Studios on March 2nd, 2026. That means March 1st, 2026, will be the final day guests can ride the coaster in its current form. While this is definitely the end of an era, there is some exciting news about what is coming next that longtime fans and Muppets lovers are going to want to hear. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has been a Hollywood Studios staple for decades, thanks to its high-speed launch, inversions, and iconic soundtrack. For many fans, it is one of the most thrilling attractions in the park and one of the last remaining ties to the park’s earlier identity. Disney has now locked in the closing date, which gives fans just a couple of months left to plan a farewell ride or two before the attraction shuts its doors. Rock on! The good news is that the ride itself is not going away entirely. Instead, Disney is re-theming the attraction into a brand-new Muppets-inspired roller coaster. Disney previously announced the reimagining, but now we have a clear timeline for when the transformation will begin and when guests can expect to experience the new version. ©Disney Disney has shared that the new Muppets-themed coaster is expected to open in summer 2026. That gives Imagineers a fairly short window to transform the existing ride system, queue, and storyline. If you have ever wondered how quickly Disney can overhaul an attraction when motivated, this project is definitely one to watch. The story of the new ride centers around the Electric Mayhem band, who are headlining the biggest concert of their careers. Guests are given VIP passes that allow them inside the recording studio, where they discover the band in the middle of an epic jam session. The penguins are acting as audio engineers, which already feels very on brand. Scooter is trying to keep things on schedule and needs your help to get the band to the concert venue on time. ©Disney During the ride, you will blast through the course while rocking out to Electric Mayhem and some seriously high-energy tracks. Disney has not released a full track list yet, but we are expecting plenty of rock and roll vibes to match the intensity of the coaster. Disney also confirmed that a first-of-its-kind Muppet animatronic will be part of the attraction, which has us asking a lot of questions and speculating wildly about who it could be. ©Disney The changes won’t stop once you exit the limo. G Force Records is getting a makeover as the Muppets take over, with help from Scooter’s uncle J.P. Grosse. Outside the building, the giant guitar will receive a colorful update inspired by Electric Mayhem’s van. The piano keys at the base will feature a golden key as a nod to a certain far-out band leader. These details suggest that the reimagined attraction will lean heavily into fun, color, and classic Muppets humor. ©Disney If Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is on your must-ride list, you will want to make sure it is part of your plans before March 1st, 2026. This closure is permanent, and once the doors close, the Aerosmith era will officially be over. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster area entrance on Sunset Boulevard We will be keeping a close eye on updates and opening timelines as Disney shares more about the Muppets coaster. Have any travel plans for 2026? There are some airline changes you’ll want to be aware of! From policy changes to rewards program updates, there are a lot of things you need to know heading into this year. Flying to our next adventure! We aren’t putting it lightly when we say that this year has some of the most surprising changes with an airline we’ve ever seen. Changes that are considered controversial amongst passengers, and changes that will take a while to get used to. So, let’s take a look at what to expect! Southwest Assigned Seats As of January 27th, Southwest will officially switch to using assigned seating on flights. Fares will include new seat options to choose from: Standard, Preferred, and Extra Legroom. Each option will differ in costs, similar to other airlines. Premium Seating on ©Southwest Airlines With the introduction of assigned seating, the airline will also update its boarding process. The current A, B, and C groups with numbered positions will be transitioned to a new boarding structure using numbered groups ranging from 1 through 8. Customer of Size Policy That’s not the only change Southwest will be applying this year. In fact, this is ANOTHER seat change. Along with assigned seating, Southwest is updating its “Customer of Size” policy. The airline used to allow customers to buy a single seat and discuss their seating needs with a gate agent ahead of departure. If it was determined that a second or third seat was needed, the airline would accommodate them with a complimentary additional seat the day of travel. ©Southwest Airlines However, that policy will officially change on January 27th — the same day as the assigned seating comes into play. Southwest says, “Customers who encroach upon the neighboring seat(s) should proactively purchase the needed number of seats prior to travel to ensure the additional seat is available.” ©Southwest Airlines They did note that it will refund the extra seat purchase if requested when travel is complete. If the flight is sold out or adjacent seats aren’t available, they will rebook you on an alternate flight. No More Free Bags Although it was applied late in 2025, this will be the first full year without Southwest’s “Bags Fly for Free Policy”. The airline is now charging for checked bags on Basic, Choice, and Choice Preferred fares. Baggage claim at MCO! That being said, there are some exceptions for baggage: Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and Getaways by Southwest customers will receive two free checked bags. A-List Members and Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers will receive only their first checked bag for free. Hawaii residents traveling between the islands will continue to receive two free checked bags. Baggage American Airlines Rewards Program Moving over to American Airlines, they made a change very recently on December 17, 2025. Members of American Airlines’ loyalty program will no longer earn miles or travel rewards when booking a Basic Economy ticket. American Airlines AAdvantage program members used to earn two miles and loyalty points for each dollar they spent on a regular fare, but that will no longer be the case. The only way to earn miles and points is by purchasing a more expensive ticket. The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! 3 New Unspoken Rules Disney Is Enforcing in 2026
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
2026 is happening NOW, and believe it or not, things are changing in Disney World AGAIN. Cinderella Castle If we’re being honest, that’s not surprising to us, since Disney World practically changes every week. Sometimes it’s what dining options are offered, the cost of different snacks and meals around the park, the way Lightning Lane works, parade times — the list goes on! However, as each year passes and we head into another one, there are usually some larger changes that happen that are super important to know about before the year begins. If you’re heading to Disney World in 2026, here are three unspoken “rules” (we’re calling them that, anyway) that Disney is enforcing to the MAX this upcoming year. Patience Starting off VERY strong, we’re all being taught patience this upcoming year thanks to Disney. Why? Because all that CONSTRUCTION! There are two entirely new lands being built in Magic Kingdom, as well as two rides getting ready to come out of major refurbishments. Disney’s Hollywood Studios also has two lands getting an overhaul, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is about to close for many months to be rethemed. Over in Animal Kingdom, DinoLand U.S.A. is about to close for good to make way for Tropical Americas, and while EPCOT doesn’t have any major projects going on, there are construction walls around the park for small projects. Tons of construction is happening! That’s not even mentioning the construction going on in Disney Springs and the Disney World hotels, so yes, the walls really are everywhere. That means that, not only are there multiple experiences unavailable at the start of 2026 (and some throughout the whole year), but the pathways you’ll use to walk around the park will often be more crowded, harder to maneuver around, and may cause some frustration. Walls are everywhere! We know this is all for the best, and we’re looking forward to what’s coming, but WOW will it be hard to wait months and months until the walls all come down. Disney Just Dropped 4 MAJOR Updates Have More Fun OUTSIDE The Parks When people think of Disney World, they often just immediately think of the four theme parks and perhaps the water parks, when it comes to having tons of fun and making the most of their vacation. However, we’ll be the first to tell you that Disney Springs is full of incredible restaurants, shopping opportunities, and even some great live entertainment, so you can have lots of fun outside the parks too. That’s about to get even more desirable, though, once this new spot opens up in 2026! Construction walls at LEVEL99 Coming to Disney Springs in 2026 is none other than LEVEL99, where you and your friends can experience tons of physical and mental challenges that you can’t find anywhere else in Disney World (and we don’t mean the mental challenge of getting through a 10+ mile park day for the third day in a row, and you’re already exhausted, though, that’s hard too). This will be a great experience for older kids and adults of all ages, especially, and we think it’ll really encourage people to add an extra day to their trip to explore outside the parks. Everything You Need to Know About LEVEL99 at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World Finding Your Favorite Snacks May Take Extra Work With so much moving around the parks, or some lands going away entirely (most notably DinoLand, U.S.A., going away in February), some of your favorite snacks may end up moving around the parks to new places. Lucky for you, we track ALL of these changes. Buffalo Chicken Chips For example, when Trilo-Bites Snacks closed in October, the Buffalo Chicken Chips moved to Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island, and a variety of flavored DOLE Whip floats moved to Warung Outpost in Asia! Harambe Market will soon be home to some of the food you can find at Restaurantosaurus once it closes permanently on February 2nd. Rafiki Wildberry and DOLE Whip Orange Float Need some help planning for your upcoming vacation? Check out our good friends at Small World Vacations — we promise, you won’t regret it! We’re expecting lots more changes to develop in Disney World in the new year, but we’ll keep track of them all to update you every step of the way.
