Think August is too early for Halloween? Well, not exactly… at least not in Magic Kingdom, where preparations are on for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which kicks off on August 25th! Disneyland follows suit on September 20th with Mickey’s Halloween Party. Someone else is getting ready for Halloween, too… our friend Donna Yan, who creates Cute Food Art featuring iconic Disney snacks! And she JUST came out with three prints for the most ghoulish time of the year! Just look at all the details on the Mickey Beignets and Mint Julep — Halloween Version print (Hello, Zero!). That Maleficent krispy treat is epic. And see the spiderweb detail on the Mickey balloon, just like they have in the parks during the Halloween season?? The Poison Apple Mug with Grapes is full to overflowing with grapes all decked out in their costumes, including a teeny tiny Haunted Mansion Cast Member. Speaking of the Haunted Mansion… the Creamy Corn Chowder Ghost Host is making more mischief — this time with a Pumpkin Twist! You can check out the full selection of prints — including other collections — here. Just click on your image of choice, and select Full Details to see an enlarged image, or Purchase to find sizes with pricing (prints start around $7). Upon selecting your preferred size, you can also choose to Frame It to receive your prints ready-to-hang, with customizable matting should you choose. (Selecting Frame It will lead you to pricing options.) Customized Frame So BOO to you from your new Cute Food Friends! Which Cute Food print is your favorite? Please let us know with a comment! Earlier this week, we shared an exclusive look inside the Disney Archives’ “A Pirates Life for Me: Disney’s Rascals, Scoundrels, Really Bad Eggs” exhibit at this year’s D23 Expo. This walk-through exhibit celebrated the 50 years of Pirates of the Caribbean fun by showcasing costumes, pirate props and more from the original pirates attraction at Disneyland park to the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean Battle for the Sunken Treasure attraction at Shanghai Disneyland. Of course, props from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise were also on display. Click through the Disney Parks Blog Instagram gallery above for a full look at the exhibit. Heather Sievers, our Disneyland correspondent and the queen behind @DiningInDisney, knows how to have fun with Disney food. She’s hooking us up with Disney Frankenfoods, which are mash-ups between two (or more!) complementary Disney foods. Today we have one of her most recent food combos — a Churro Cotton Candy Churro! Churro Cotton Candy is found in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney. You can find tubs of cotton candy in unique flavors like Strawberry Lemonade, Green Apple, and Pina Colada! These tubs are super convenient; it’s a lot easier to keep your cotton candy fresh throughout the day when it comes in a tub rather than a bag. Cotton Candy Tubs at Disneyland Heather went straight for the Churro Cotton Candy. But she also knew it wasn’t quite complete. Because what could go better with Churro Cotton Candy than an actual Churro? So she grabbed one of those, too. Wrap that cinnamon-sugar stick in the spiced spun sugar, and BA-DAH-BING! You’ve got yourself a Churro Cotton Candy Churro! Churro Cotton Candy Churro Who needs a cardboard stick for Cotton Candy when you can wrap it around a Churro? The combination of textures and flavors and the funky appearance make this an artsy food mash-up winner! What’s your dream Cotton Candy flavor? Let us know in the comments! Dancers, dreamers and Duffy fans – I’m delighted to share an update that Duffy’s newest friend, StellaLou, has danced her way to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. This little lavender rabbit with cute ears and starry eyes has been delighting guests at Tokyo DisneySea since Duffy first met her in front of the S.S. Columbia at American Waterfront, where StellaLou told Duffy her dream of becoming a dancer on Broadway. Starting today, StellaLou will join her friends at Hong Kong Disneyland in the photo zone of Main Street Cinema: My Journeys with Duffy – Presented by Fujifilm to share her dream of becoming a dancer with guests of all ages. To welcome StellaLou, more than 150 new and exclusive plush toys, stationary, pins, accessories and more are being introduced, along with specially themed food and beverage items. Personally, I can’t wait to try the StellaLou Steamed Sweet Purple Potato Bun served at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel’s Crystal Lotus restaurant. It sounds delicious! Join us in welcoming StellaLou, and keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. View the full article

Last night, we recognized the great service and sacrifice of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Unit with a special flag retreat ceremony and march down Main Street U.S.A at Magic Kingdom Park. Veterans representing those who served in uniform from WWII until today’s conflicts in the Middle East were honored at the ceremony, which also included musical performances by the 82nd Airborne 16-member chorus and brass quintet band. If you weren’t able to join us in the park, here’s a look at the ceremony. The 82nd Airborne Division is an elite airborne infantry division of the United States Army, specializing in parachute assault operations into denied areas. Based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 82nd Airborne Division was in Orlando for the 82nd Airborne National Association Convention to commemorate their Centennial year. As many of our readers know, The Walt Disney Company was founded by two brothers who served their nation in uniform during World War I – and we have a longstanding tradition of supporting the U.S. Armed Forces by hiring, training and supporting military veterans. With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land currently under construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the park is truly in the middle of an exciting transformation. Today, we wanted to share another park update that will very soon give you a thrilling, up-close look at what’s to come at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The One Man’s Dream attraction is currently being reimagined into Walt Disney Presents, which like its predecessor, will continue showcasing historic items from Walt Disney’s history, such as sketches, photos and storyboards. But wait – Walt Disney Presents will also act as a preview center where guests explore what’s next for the park. Starting in mid-September, you’ll be able to view concept art, ride vehicle maquettes and a never-before-seen model for Toy Story Land. A portion of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge model also will be on display, as well as concept art for the new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction. The attraction will also continue to host greetings with characters like Star-Lord and baby Groot, plus special sneak previews of upcoming Disney films. So, tell us – which attraction model are you most excited to see? Tell us in the comments section below! View the full article

Tonight’s “After Dark” image was snapped of the Germany Pavilion right at park close by photographer Jackie Nell. This World Showcase pavilion at Epcot is one of my favorite (possibly due to the incredibly tasty caramel popcorn they make at Karamell-Küche). But from an architecture and detail standpoint, the Germany Pavilion can’t be beat – and only looks lovelier at night! Which detail in this pavilion is your favorite? The central fountain? The suits of armor? The cuckoo clock? View the full article

The Disneyland Railroad has officially resumed its grand circle tour of Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom! The return of this classic attraction has been highly anticipated by Disneyland park fans eager to experience the beautiful new waterfront and updates along the Rivers of America. Among some the most excited fans, in fact, are the cast members who engineer and care for the historic steam engines. Robert Rodriguez and Craig Ludwick are on the team of knowledgeable engineers working on the Disneyland Railroad. Both are experts on the engines and have passion for sharing Walt’s love of steam-powered travel. “Any way we as cast members can inspire the guests to have a passion for these trains like Walt did, is fantastic,” Robert told us. They have been busy the past few months preparing for the Disneyland Railroad to return to its 365-days-a-year operation. Both are excited for guests to join them on the rails and experience the new additions to this classic attraction. The Disneyland Railroad now travels across the rocks on a trestle that extends out along the Rivers of America. When asked about his favorite new addition, Craig said, “Once our guests see those new waterfalls, lighting and the amazing stone work … you’re going to hear people say, ‘Oh, wow! Look at that!’” He’s also eager for guests to discover the breathtaking new view of Walt Disney’s iconic Dioramas of the Grand Canyon and Primeval World, which have been carefully restored to their original splendor with a bit of new magic added to both. “I don’t want to give it away,” Craig says, “but you’re going to be amazed.” View the full article

Expanding for a longer-than-ever 75-day run, the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival returns to Walt Disney World Resort from August 31 to November 13, 2017. The Disney Parks Merchandise team has developed more than 75 items celebrating the many ways guests can sip and taste their way throughout Epcot. I recently spoke with the Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group about designing this year’s merchandise artwork. “Each year we look forward to designing artwork for [Epcot International Food & Wine Festival],” explained Creative Manager Doug Strayer. “The art includes nods to Epcot’s 35th Anniversary on October 1, and beloved characters like Figment and Remy. As cast members, we love this event as much as our guests. It’s fun for us to see guests at Epcot wearing the artwork we created.” Disney Creative Group artists Richard Terpstra, Susan Foy, Dave Holbrook, and Brian Blackmore contributed to this year’s assortment. Their artwork was compiled into a style guide which merchandise product developers referenced when creating apparel, pins, home décor, accessories and more. Fans of Figment will be delighted to find several new items featuring the lovable purple dragon. Doug said the 1980s-looking Figment artwork was inspired by a classic Epcot attraction. “During the design phase, we kept referencing the Kitchen Kabaret attraction once located in The Land Pavilion. That food-themed show included the song ‘Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit,’ which we couldn’t get out of our heads [laughs]. We liked the show’s art style, so we combined it with a stylized Chef Figment. It’s a fun way to salute the heritage of Epcot.” Another nod to Epcot’s heritage is found within the Passport collection. Look carefully to see stamps containing World Showcase marketing artwork from 1982. The Brews Around the World collection returns this year with new designs by Susan Foy. Look for the artwork on apparel and drinkware, including a new stainless steel growler and baseball cap with a bottle opener. For the first time, we are introducing an “Eat to the Beat” concert T-shirt with a World Showcase-inspired guitar graphic. Dooney & Bourke handbags with Figment and World Showcase graphics will also be released during the event. Annual Passholders will also find a specially designed Dooney & Bourke handbag along with several other Passholder Exclusive products such as pins, salt and pepper shakers, and accessories. Finally, guests can help Remy as he ventures around Epcot to collect the ingredients for his signature dish with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt. This year, guests will have 15 spots to look for Remy in World Showcase and Future World. Look for these items at the Festival Center located adjacent to Mission: SPACE, and at select merchandise locations throughout Epcot. Select items will also be offered on Shop Disney Parks app and the online store. View the full article

In our Disney Doodles series, different artists take turns imaging what a specific Disney character would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park. In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Prince John, the cowardly villain in “Robin Hood,” would do if he had the chance to visit Magic Kingdom Park. According to her, he’d likely head to the one attraction where he could get his hands on treasure. “Prince John is always looking for gold!” Ashley said. “I can easily imagine him spending time in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction looking for treasure!” View the full article
