The Disneyland Railroad has officially resumed its grand circle tour of Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom! The return of this classic attraction has been highly anticipated by Disneyland park fans eager to experience the beautiful new waterfront and updates along the Rivers of America. Among some the most excited fans, in fact, are the cast members who engineer and care for the historic steam engines. Robert Rodriguez and Craig Ludwick are on the team of knowledgeable engineers working on the Disneyland Railroad. Both are experts on the engines and have passion for sharing Walt’s love of steam-powered travel. “Any way we as cast members can inspire the guests to have a passion for these trains like Walt did, is fantastic,” Robert told us. They have been busy the past few months preparing for the Disneyland Railroad to return to its 365-days-a-year operation. Both are excited for guests to join them on the rails and experience the new additions to this classic attraction. The Disneyland Railroad now travels across the rocks on a trestle that extends out along the Rivers of America. When asked about his favorite new addition, Craig said, “Once our guests see those new waterfalls, lighting and the amazing stone work … you’re going to hear people say, ‘Oh, wow! Look at that!’” He’s also eager for guests to discover the breathtaking new view of Walt Disney’s iconic Dioramas of the Grand Canyon and Primeval World, which have been carefully restored to their original splendor with a bit of new magic added to both. “I don’t want to give it away,” Craig says, “but you’re going to be amazed.” View the full article

It’s big news over in Disneyland that the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! is back! Fantasmic at Disneyland We recently enjoyed the return of the show — along with dinner at River Belle Terrace — thanks to the Fantasmic Dining Package. However, River Belle Terrace will be undergoing a refurbishment starting in September. So with the Fantasmic Dining Packages in high demand, a different option will be on offer in its place: the Fantasmic Dining Package at Cafe Orleans! Cafe Orleans sign The Cafe Orleans Dining Package will be available for booking starting August 15th for packages from September 5th through November 16th. The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Nighttime Spectacular is returning to Hollywood Studios in November for the holiday season! Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! And along with this festive projection and fireworks show comes the return of the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party, pairing a reserved viewing area with holiday-themed food and drink. Multiple food stations will offer holiday sweets and snacks such as warm cheese fondue with pretzel bread, warm pumpkin pie, and spiced-bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Expanding for a longer-than-ever 75-day run, the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival returns to Walt Disney World Resort from August 31 to November 13, 2017. The Disney Parks Merchandise team has developed more than 75 items celebrating the many ways guests can sip and taste their way throughout Epcot. I recently spoke with the Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group about designing this year’s merchandise artwork. “Each year we look forward to designing artwork for [Epcot International Food & Wine Festival],” explained Creative Manager Doug Strayer. “The art includes nods to Epcot’s 35th Anniversary on October 1, and beloved characters like Figment and Remy. As cast members, we love this event as much as our guests. It’s fun for us to see guests at Epcot wearing the artwork we created.” Disney Creative Group artists Richard Terpstra, Susan Foy, Dave Holbrook, and Brian Blackmore contributed to this year’s assortment. Their artwork was compiled into a style guide which merchandise product developers referenced when creating apparel, pins, home décor, accessories and more. Fans of Figment will be delighted to find several new items featuring the lovable purple dragon. Doug said the 1980s-looking Figment artwork was inspired by a classic Epcot attraction. “During the design phase, we kept referencing the Kitchen Kabaret attraction once located in The Land Pavilion. That food-themed show included the song ‘Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit,’ which we couldn’t get out of our heads [laughs]. We liked the show’s art style, so we combined it with a stylized Chef Figment. It’s a fun way to salute the heritage of Epcot.” Another nod to Epcot’s heritage is found within the Passport collection. Look carefully to see stamps containing World Showcase marketing artwork from 1982. The Brews Around the World collection returns this year with new designs by Susan Foy. Look for the artwork on apparel and drinkware, including a new stainless steel growler and baseball cap with a bottle opener. For the first time, we are introducing an “Eat to the Beat” concert T-shirt with a World Showcase-inspired guitar graphic. Dooney & Bourke handbags with Figment and World Showcase graphics will also be released during the event. Annual Passholders will also find a specially designed Dooney & Bourke handbag along with several other Passholder Exclusive products such as pins, salt and pepper shakers, and accessories. Finally, guests can help Remy as he ventures around Epcot to collect the ingredients for his signature dish with Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt. This year, guests will have 15 spots to look for Remy in World Showcase and Future World. Look for these items at the Festival Center located adjacent to Mission: SPACE, and at select merchandise locations throughout Epcot. In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Prince John, the cowardly villain in “Robin Hood,” would do if he had the chance to visit Magic Kingdom Park. Nearly a year ago, Flying Fish reopened after a lengthy refurbishment closure. Disney Food Blog visited on the very first day that it reopened (here’s that review for reference). Learn About: Flying Fish Boardwalk Restaurants Disney World Restaurants While we gave full marks to the beautiful interior and excellent service, and we found some bright spots to celebrate on the revamped menu, we were frankly underwhelmed. The restaurant had abandoned long time cult favorites like their Potato Wrapped Snapper and the Char-crusted Certified Black Angus New York Strip Steak, purportedly in the name of those hot, buzzy themes of sustainability and seasonality. Fine. But while everything was indeed fine, it was no longer special. It was no longer my favorite spot to get a last minute signature restaurant advance dining reservation and KNOW that it was going to be fabulous. Well, we’re a year in now. And I was anxious to see what, if anything, had changed. Had they returned those amazing signature dishes to the menu? Was the menu completely different from a year ago, owing to the use of seasonal ingredients and sustainable seafood choices? Were they celebrating local? Flying Fish Entrance Only one way to find out. Time to head in. Atmosphere Flying Fish is located on Disney’s BoardWalk. If you travel down the steps leading from the back of the lobby, you’ll find it just to the right, as you face the water. Step inside and you’ll find a very small waiting area. Check In Area Just to the left of the hostess greeting station is the inside entrance to AbracadaBar. It’s a separate venue, but it basically functions as a bar and lounge for both Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno on the opposite side. By the way, the FF’s reno and the addition of AbracadaBar did not result in a change to the bathroom situation. The only restroom for FF, the Bar, and Trattoria al Forno is located in the back of AbracadaBar. I still think this is weird. The View from Flying Fish into AbracadaBar Even so, the restaurant’s makeover is stunning. This is a beautiful space, and such a completely radical departure from the previous carnival-themed decor. Flying Fish Main Dining Room The restaurant has maintained its “on stage” kitchen, and you can take full advantage of watching the action by requesting a chef’s counter seat. New Chef’s Counter Seating The bar, tucked behind the kitchen and about halfway back and to the left, is a showpiece. Clever use of wine bottles in the lighting, and the tile work mimicking fish scales below are especially striking. Bar Beyond the bar, there’s also a little alcove that can serve as a private dining room. When not in use for separate functions, the room offers additional seating. (This used to be the big top tent room with the previous decor.) Private Back Dining Area While the carnival themeing of the past is completely gone, Flying Fish isn’t without a touch of whimsy as you can see from the glass bubbles and fish hanging beneath the light fixtures. This effectively places you under the sea, looking up through fish to the light beyond. There’s a fun sense of movement in the display as well. Chandeliers Take a moment to notice the odd posters and photographs that hang gallery style along the walls. They’ll make you laugh. Portraits Lining Walls Seating throughout the space is comfortable, with a mixture of padded chairs in various styles. The white tablecloths that are still used here on many of the tables are also a nice touch. Seating There are a few booths as well. Most are located in this central area, and form a serpentine pattern. It’s a nice way to break up the space. Central Booths Tables by the windows still allow for lovely views of the grassy area to the back of the BoardWalk Inn. Window Table It’s a good spot for people watching. But beware — you also feel a bit like you’re in a fishbowl, especially to passing toddlers, who tend to peer in, their adorable faces pressed up against the glass, smiling at you. Eats Because this was my first time back at Flying Fish in nearly a year, I was anxious to see how this market driven menu had changed. After all — we had heard over and over again that seasonality and sustainability were the reasons our old favorites were gone. Guess what? The menu looked remarkably similar to what it featured a year ago. Menu — Click to Enlarge While we determined what we’d have to eat, one of my friends and I also decided to indulge in wine flights. I went for the Riesling flight, and was happy to see three pretty different styles of my favorite varietal. Note, however, that these are not all that out of the box. You’ll find these same wines on many menus in Disney World. But they did offer a nice variety of sweet-to-dry Rieslings. Riesling Flight Descriptions My friend was more partial to a flight of Reds, while another friend opted for a single glass of Riesling to complement her meal. Chris, Bringer of the Two Wine Flights All that wine made for a crowded but lovely table. Riesling Flight We made our selections, and soon the food started to arrive. The bread at Flying Fish features seaweed mixed right in. This doesn’t demonstrably change the flavor or texture, and I can say that the bread is delicious. Bread Service and Butter A friend decided to start with the Mesclun Salad, which was lightly dressed and featured barrel aged Feta cheese and fine herbs. She enjoyed the fresh flavors of this one, and recommended it. Salad One of the stand out dishes from our previous visit was the Kurobuta Pork Belly and — surprise! — it’s still here. It’s served with a croquette of shredded pork, which is topped with a quail egg. Pork Belly I have to say…I was happy this one was still around. In terms of serving size, flavor, and presentation, this dish is a winner, and could easily have passed for a small entree with a salad or soup to start. Each component was well executed. We enjoyed every last bite. Pork Belly — Up Close We also ordered The Evolution of Cheese, which is basically a cheese plate. There was a ton of variety and each cheese was garnished and arranged thoughtfully. Starting from the six o’clock position, the cheeses are as follows: House Made Mozzarella Curd; Crottin, a French goat’s milk cheese; Brillat-Savarin, a French triple-cream; Pleasant Ridge Reserve, made in the style of Gruyere; Fiore Sardo, a cheese that dates back to ancient times; Reypenaer V.S.O.P. Gouda from Holland; and Caveman Blue in the middle, from Colorado. While they were all delicious and beautifully diverse, we favored the Brillat-Savarin and the Caveman Blue. Accompaniments included, among other things, honeycomb and chocolate dust. Because, sure. It was fine. But COME ON. Seriously WHY are these pieces of cheese so tiny? This was $22!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like the cheese plates back in the day had bigger cheese, but maybe I’m wrong. Either way, not worth $22 IMO, especially since many of these cheeses are available in your grocery store. Cheese Selection So time for entrees. I decided to give Flying Fish’s current steak a try, so I went for the Wagyu Filet Mignon. In contrast with the Wagyu I had recently enjoyed at Morimoto Asia — which was totally the REAL DEAL — this…was not. It’s “American Wagyu”, which means its grandparents came from Japan or something. At any rate, it’s raised here. And it’s not the same. Wagyu Filet Mignon It as decent, and the demi glace served alongside added extra flavor. But it wasn’t life-changing. I really enjoyed the strip that was on the prior Flying Fish menu, and this just doesn’t compare. I’d say “that’s what you get for ordering steak in a fish restaurant,” but that’s not fair. This is a high-end, signature restaurant that’s been able to do steak really well in the past. Wagyu Filet Mignon — Up Close One of my friends decided to go for variety, and opted for the Wood-Fired Spanish Octopus, Chilean Sea Bass, and Key West Pink Shrimp. The dish was served with bomba arroz, studded with sweet peppers and seasoned with house made chorizo. Seafood Trio — Spanish Octopus, Chilean Sea Bass, and Key West Shrimp She absolutely loved the sea bass and the shrimp as well as the flavorful, creamy rice that was similar to risotto. But the octopus tentacle was a little larger than she’d previously had. As a result, although it was well prepared, it wasn’t her favorite. Still, guests who love octopus will probably enjoy this. Seafood Trio — Up Close My other friend opted for the Ocean’s Bounty Sustainable Fish. During our previous visit, the dish featured Alaskan halibut, but this visit offered up Florida grouper. The presentation was exactly the same, right down to the harvest vegetable melange and potato beurre blanc. While my friend who ordered the dish found the sauce to be a tad salty, I was completely in love with it. The sauce, that is…not the fish. Seriously, Flying Fish — put this on the menu and let me order a bowl of it as a soup. (In fact, I did ask them to bring me out a little bowl of it so I could add it to my steak.) Sustainable Fish — Florida Grouper After our ample apps and entrees, we didn’t really have room for dessert, but we took a look at the menu anyway. Again, we were a little underwhelmed by the options, especially since they were nearly identical to last year’s offerings. Dessert Menu — Click to Enlarge Here are the Under the Sea and Florida Reef desserts from that visit, just so you have an idea. Under the Sea Chocolate Dessert Florida Reef Pretty, but largely forgettable. So we decided to pass in favor of a visit to Ample Hills Creamery. Nosh or Not? You might like Flying Fish if: You weren’t part of the former Flying Fish Cafe’s cult following. You’re looking for a romantic dining experience in a beautiful setting that doesn’t feel too “Disney.” You enjoy seafood and dishes that represent current trends. You might want to skip Flying Fish if: If you (like me) were a huge fan of Flying Fish Cafe’s most popular dishes. You’re on a budget. You’ve eaten here in the last year and are looking to try new things. You don’t like seafood. I used to say it’s worth it to go even if you’re not a seafood fan, but not anymore. Overall My visit to Flying Fish was…Fine. Here’s the thing. I was a fairly frequent visitor to the Fish in the days before its recent reno, and I looooooved this place. In fact, when someone asked me what my favorite restaurant in Disney World was, I could always say Flying Fish and know it would provide that person with an excellent dining experience. There were a few reasons for that. First and foremost, the food and drinks were simply incredible. Although FF touts its fish, that chargrilled strip was one of my favorite steaks anywhere, ever. And the move to combine it with FF’s other signature dish, the potato wrapped snapper, was sheer genius, because the surf and turf combo worked so incredibly well together. And really, there was nothing wrong with this visit to the “new” Flying Fish. The food was fine, the service was good. But it wasn’t exquisite. It didn’t leave me counting the minutes until I could return. In a word, it’s no longer memorable, which is sad, because it’s definitely not cheap. And there really is a stark difference between the jovial, familial, energetic atmosphere of the old Fish (helmed by Chef Tim Keating, who’s heart, I can now confidently say, makes a restaurant) compared to the beautiful but cold, robotic feel of the current incarnation. Maybe it’s that some beloved cast members and servers have left and moved on. I’m not sure. But it’s just not home anymore. So while I can confidently say you’ll have a decent meal at Flying Fish, I can’t think of a single reason to recommend you go here over someplace else. The only thing I can say is this: you will probably have no problem getting a last minute advance dining reservation. We were shocked and a little sad that the restaurant wasn’t full on a Saturday night in the middle of the busy summer season. Oh, Flying Fish. Please. Hollywood Studios is now offering Mobile Order! Learn About: Backlot Express Disney's Hollywood Studios Disney World Restaurants This process, which debuted at Animal Kingdom’s Satu’li Canteen in May, gives guests the opportunity to to pre-order and pre-pay for meals at select Counter Service locations around Disney World via the My Disney Experience app. Once you arrive at the restaurant? You simply notify the restaurant of your arrival on the app and go straight to pick up your food! (You can learn about how the entire process works from start to finish here.) The process has rolled out at Counter Service restaurants across Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. And yesterday, the fourth and final park — Hollywood Studios — joined the lineup, starting with Backlot Express! Backlot Express It’s anticipated that ABC Commissary and PizzeRizzo will appear on the Mobile Order list soon. Also recently, another Epcot restaurant was added to the list: Liberty Inn. At this time, Mobile Order can only accept credit cards for payment (no Disney Dining Plan payment options yet, but it will be added in the future). Also, Mobile Order cannot process any eligible discounts — at least for now. But with the list of participating restaurants starting to fill out, we look forward to receiving updates on this hopefully in the near future, and we’ll keep you posted! The “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” Holiday Dessert Party is returning this year to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort! It’s one of the best ways to enjoy the Holiday Nighttime Spectacular fireworks show. In the courtyard of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, guests can enjoy multiple food stations, featuring holiday-inspired sweet and savory delights like warm cheese fondue with pretzel bread and flatbread, warm pumpkin pie and spiced-bread pudding with hand-dipped vanilla ice cream. The Liquid Nitro Station fires-up the party with chocolate mousse and choice of toppings, including salted caramel sauce. Beer, wine and specialty cocktails are available for guests over 21. Specialty non-alcoholic beverages are also available, and of course, the hot cocoa is a crowd-pleaser. While a special VIP character comes to meet and mingle with dessert party-goers, guests won’t believe their eyes when they check out the festive lights wearing a pair of 3D HoloSpex® glasses they receive. The glasses turn bright lights into holiday holographic illusions such as gingerbread men and candy canes. This year’s annual Tour de Turtles event, held at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort July 29, brought cheers for Cruz Ramirez and Sally Carrera, two loggerhead turtles named after characters from “Cars 3.” The two racers nested on the beach, and conservation specialists attached satellite transmitters to their shells before the turtles headed out into the big blue world. This marks the 10th year the Sea Turtle Conservancy has hosted Tour de Turtles. Scientists will follow 20 sea turtles representing four species to discover more about their habits at sea and to identify migratory patterns that may hold the key to their survival. Sally, Cruz and the other Tour de Turtles participants will swim for many hundreds of miles on their migration from nesting beach to feeding areas. The turtle that covers the longest distance in a three-month period will be declared the winner, but every turtle gets the checkered flag for representing their sponsor and individual conservation cause. Cruz is swimming for the Disney Conservation Fund, which has directed more than $2.6 million to help global efforts to reverse the decline of sea turtles. This loggerhead is swimming to raise awareness of problems with plastic debris in the ocean. This debris includes fishing line and plastic bags, which can entangle turtles, impeding their movement and ability to eat. Sea turtles also often ingest pieces of plastic they mistake for food. Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort sponsor Sally, who is swimming to bring attention to light pollution. Because sea turtle hatchlings rely on natural starlight to find their way to the ocean, many are steered off course by artificial light sources. Sally will help raise awareness of the importance of turning off your lights on the beach at night during sea turtle season. Before the green flag waved on the beach signaling the start of the race, guests met Captain Ron, a conservation canine with the talent to locate sea turtle eggs. Guests also applauded the debut of Dory, a shelter-rescued sniffer dog who follows in Captain Ron’s pawprints, helping our conservation team quickly identify nests and protect them from threats. Guests also participated in fun activities to learn more about sea turtle conservation and the challenges turtles face. It’s nearly here: the Epcot Food and Wine Festival kicks off shortly and we are counting down the days! Before long, we’ll all be traipsing about Epcot, noshing on old favorites and new finds. And with more marketplace booths joining the ranks every year, there is always something to be excited about. But planning is key, especially as the festival continues to grow. And we’re here to help! We’ve been around the festival block a time or two, so I’m happy to share with you some of Disney Food Blog’s Top Tips for making this the best Epcot Food and Wine Festival yet! Let’s dig in! 1. Know Before You Go The Epcot Food and Wine Festival has become massive, both in terms of timeframe and offerings. Every year, it gets longer, and more booths are introduced. This pretty much guarantees that if you show up expecting to wing it, you’re gonna miss some stuff. So planning has gotta be your starting point. Spend some time looking at the menus, and determine your must eat and must drink lists. Give special attention to this exercise if you have particular preferences or sensitivities as Disney labels items that are gluten free and vegetarian. (For all of this year’s gluten free offerings, check out our list of GF menu items here.) Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Purée at Patagonia, a Gluten Free Option Also, give some thought to where you might escape the heat for a bit. Craft Beers, located in The Odyssey, offers a nice respite from the sun. Besides, it’s a great place to grab a cold one. In World Showcase, duck into Mitsukoshi Department Store in Japan for a breather, or take in the Voices of Liberty for a break. 2. Visit During the Down Times Because of the festival’s popularity, avoiding crowds has become a little more challenging. But there are still plenty of times that lines are shorter and crowds are thinner. You just have to give it a little forethought. Avoid Lines By Planning Ahead Avoid both opening and closing weekends. Typically crowds swell during both extremes. Likewise, plan your visits for the middle of the week. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is as much a destination for locals as it is for out of town guests, and weekends are predictably times when the guest count increases. Finally, avoid holiday weekends like Labor Day, Columbus Day, and Veteran’s Day. Aim for early in the day — booths typically open at 11:00AM — weekdays, once the festival is well underway. 3. Get a Festival Passport Since Festival Passports debuted several years back, we’ve become big fans! Not only are the passports a great way to keep track of what you’ve tried, but they make super cute mementos of the festival. If you’re not familiar with them, Festival Passports are the little booklets that you can pick up at Festival Center and at registers throughout Epcot (especially in World Showcase). 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Passport The passport lists the menus of each booth as well as other festival details, such as the Eat to the Beat concert schedule and festival merchandise. Try New Things We know — we’re right there with you. It just wouldn’t be a festival without favorites like the Empanada at Patagonia, that Chocolate Pudding at Ireland, or a Crème Brûlée in France — we don’t care WHAT the flavor is. But in addition to being a great way to budget, Disney’s mini giftcards come on little bracelets, which makes it super convenient to use at the booths. Rather than digging through your bag at every stop for a card or cash, it’s easy to pay with the little wearable giftcard. See How Handy Those Wristlet Gift Cards Are? Want to celebrate life and splurge a little? Check out the Commemorative Epcot Food and Wine Gift Card. It comes with a souvenir lanyard and medallion, and can be yours when you load it with a minimum of $200. And let’s be honest: it’s really not hard to spend that much. So why not? Commemorative Gift Card Information Of course, MagicBands are another simple, convenient way to pay. Just watch those expenses. They can creep up on you. 6. Or Purchase the Sampler Package For years, guests have asked for an all inclusive festival ticket, an opportunity to pay a set price and sample as much as you’d like. (Think of events like the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic.) While this food and wine fantasy has never come to pass, Disney does offer a Sampler Package. For a flat price, guests purchase a card with eight allotments, which allows them to visit the booths of their choice. Tasting Sampler Credential Tasting Sampler Entitlement Coupons While the options are fairly wide open, there are a few restrictions. The good news is that they’re printed right on the card, so there’s no guess work involved. Tasting Sampler Credential — Back The upside is that you can come out ahead if you choose your items wisely. 7. Share Because we love to try All. The. Things. — this is one of our favorite tips. Share, share, and share some more. It’s a great way to maximize the number of dishes that you have the chance to try. Cheese Trio from The Cheese Studio Here’s my personal TIP: head to the booths with family or a group of friends, and plan to share everything. Then, at the end of the day or the next day, go back for a full serving (or two!) of your favorites! 8. Be There for More Than One Day Sure, you could do the Epcot Food and Wine Festival in a day — even less, if you have only a morning or an afternoon. We give you strategies for short visits in our DFB Guide to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival E-Book. But honestly, if you can, I recommend that you plan for more than one day. There is a lot of food and drink to enjoy. And in my opinion, the best way to actually enjoy it is to space it out over the course of a few days. That way you can take in a few booths, alternate them with some attractions, and maybe even a few Special Events. Take In a Special Event, Like Behind the Scenes at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto The exploration of food and drink should be more of a marathon than a sprint. 9. Drink Plenty of Water This is a biggie, and something that is super easy to neglect because you don’t plan ahead, don’t want to spend money, or both. But you need to hydrate for lots of reasons. First of all, it’s gonna be hot. Don’t let the calendar fool you, folks. Especially during the early days of the festival, it’ll be summertime. Sip on water throughout the day to prevent heat exhaustion. Dasani Water Is Available Throughout the Park But add to the heat that you’ll probably be imbibing a few drinks. Alcohol is a notorious dehydrator, so plan now to drink at least a cup of water between cocktails or servings of beer and wine. Grab a Free Cup of Water at Electric Umbrella To accomplish this in the least expensive way possible, bring your own. We love these collapsible water bottles that don’t take up a lot of space in your bag. And remember that counter service locations will give you free cups of ice water. And for those of you who don’t mind tap water, make liberal use of those water fountains. 10. Bring a Tray Yes, yes, and YES!! Have you ever gotten to a festival marketplace booth, ordered everything, and then tried to get it from the counter to a suitable eating spot without spilling everything? It’s not an easy task. That’s why we here at DFB are big believers in bringing your own tray. Sure, you can get one of the cute little food plates that they sell at the Festival Center and other merch spots, but it really doesn’t hold much. DFB tray in use by DFB reader Besides, plastic trays are super easy to come by. You can even order them ahead from and customize them. We think a DFB sticker is the PERFECT decoration. Make Your Own! Please believe me when I say that a tray is indispensable. I know you’ll thank me when you’re enjoying your Canadian Cheddar Soup and Ice Wine instead of wearing them. It’s hard to believe that in a few days we will be celebrating the first anniversary of Princess Elena of Avalor joining our Disney Princesses at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney’s first princess inspired by Latin cultures made her debut at Magic Kingdom Park on August 12, 2016 in front of thousands of guests, bringing her charm and adventurous spirit to the park. And although “Princess Elena Royal Welcome” show at Magic Kingdom Park ended last December, nuestra princesa has been greeting guests from all over the world at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. Princess Elena also often appears, along with other beloved Disney characters, in “Let the Magic Begin” the Cinderella Castle stage show that welcomes guests to the Magic Kingdom Park each morning.
