What did you do today? Oh, I spent some time with an official Disney Legend. Not something I’ve EVER said, I assure you. But we did actually catch up with Actor Kurt Russell during his three days of narrating the Candlelight Processional, part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Not only does Kurt have a long and distinguished history with the Walt Disney Company – from his work in Disney films during the 1960s to this year’s blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” – Kurt’s non-acting venture into the winemaking industry also has a Disney tie. Guests of Walt Disney World Resort can order of Kurt’s “GoGi Wine” vintages in restaurants such as Le Cellier at Epcot; The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios; and Citricos and Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Having been a narrator twice before at Disneyland, Kurt told us about his love of the Processional and talked a little bit about his wines during a quick break from his narrating duties. Candlelight Processional The Candlelight Processional presents the traditional story of Christmas in truly spectacular fashion – with a celebrity narrator, a 50-piece orchestra and a massed choir. The processional is performed three times per night (5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m.) during the holiday season at the America Gardens Theatre. Candlelight Dining Packages, available on select nights, include a delicious meal and a guaranteed seat for one of the Candlelight Processional performances. Availability is limited. In addition to lunch and dinner packages, breakfast options are available at some favorite restaurants in and near Epcot like Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and The Garden Grill. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options are also available this year at The Ale & Compass Restaurant (formerly Captain’s Grille) at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, with breakfast and dinner options being offered at Trattoria Al Forno at Disney’s BoardWalk. Candlelight Dining Packages for breakfast start at $35 plus tax per person for adults and $21 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9. Candlelight Dining Packages for lunch and dinner start at $44 plus tax per person for adults and $15.50 plus tax per person for children, ages 3-9. Epcot provides an extravaganza of holiday entertainment, merchandise, food, beverages and festivities where guests can celebrate at Epcot throughout the holiday season. Time-honored traditions come alive through the sights and sounds of the countries of World Showcase, and live performances enliven the park throughout the day. Visit our booking page to book a Candlelight Processional dining package, or to find out more information, call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Keep checking the Disney Parks Blog for updates on holidays at the Walt Disney World Resort. *Narrators and entertainment are subject to change without notice. Epcot admission is required and not included in the dining package price. View the full article

Disney Cruise Line’s original ship, the Disney Magic, underwent a stem-to-stern Re-Imagineering in 2013, which brought enhancements to the the ship resulting in new lounges, water features, and new and refreshed dining spaces (among other changes). Rapunzel Rapunzel’s Royal Table will bring guests into the kingdom of Corona, in the presence of Rapunzel herself accompanied by the Snuggly Duckling Thugs. Glowing wish lanterns will set the scene in the regal ballroom of the royal castle, also adorned with Rapunzel’s artwork. Guests will be invited to celebrate Rapunzel’s birthday by the King and Queen of Corona. A themed menu will complete the experience. We have to wonder if any of the dishes will be served on Rapunzel’s frying pan like the ones you’ll see at the Bon Voyage Adventure Character Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno in Disney World! Pastry assortment at the Bon Voyage Breakfast Further enhancements to the ship will include a refreshed Vibe (one of the dedicated spaces for teens), the addition of Club Disney Junior in the children’s Oceaneer Club, and a redesigned Cove Cafe (the adult’s coffee shop), which will sport a refreshed tropical theme. New Cast Costumes Unveiled at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Blogs
Guests visiting Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawai‘i may notice a change in our dining areas that has nothing to do with the food. Aulani Resort’s food and beverage cast members are donning new costumes designed exclusively by Tori Richard, a Hawai’i-based clothing designer. These costumes are more than just locally designed, cut and sewn; they delve deeper into the story of Hawai‘i, and of Aulani Resort itself! Several costumes feature the sketch-like Hukilau print, which depicts six fish that are indigenous and one fish that is endemic to Hawai‘i. “Hukilau” refers to the Hawaiian fishing method which uses a net lined with with tī leaves to attract fish. If you look closely, the ʻamaʻama mullet fish can be found in the design of the ocean blue costumes for the resort’s signature restaurant, ‘AMA‘AMA. Fun fact: you can find the real fish swimming in our snorkel lagoon Rainbow Reef, including the humuhumunukunukuāpua‘a—Hawai‘i’s state fish. Costumes worn by The ‘Ōlelo Room and poolside service cast members are inspired by kapa—a fabric that Hawaiians make from the beaten bast fibers of certain plants. Hawaiians then use bamboo stamps to decorate kapa with designs that tell their own story. The ʻŌlelo Room costumes have a print reminiscent of the kapa bands found in the Maka‘ala lobby mural by artist Dalani Tanahy. This print’s design depicts a sun-shaped sea urchin called hāʻukeʻuke. More costumes—along with more stories—will debut over the next year. Be sure to keep your eyes open and see what you can discover on your next visit to Aulani Resort! View the full article -

Since kicking off #ShareYourEars earlier this month, many of you have posted some amazing “ear photos” on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to support Make-A-Wish®. If you remember, Disney Parks is donating $5 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million, for each photo shared with the hashtag #ShareYourEars. This month, we’re highlighting some of your best #ShareYourEars photos here on the Disney Parks Blog. At Epcot, an adorable service animal pup @peanut716 proves that you can #ShareYourEars in style in front of Spaceship Earth. Over at Disneyland Resort, @followtheyellowbrickgirl is showing off her favorite holiday ears during a recent visit to Main Street U.S.A. @invisibeth is sporting holiday ears as well in front of one of our Christmas trees at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. If so, teach us your ways!) Here are some nifty and original ideas for the holiday season… and beyond! Mickey’s Candy Shop Village Figurine We love a Christmas village — all the more so when the village includes adorable Disney-styled buildings like this one!
