  2. Now that Governor Ron DeSantis has delivered his guidelines for Phase One to reopen Florida, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings is expected to discuss his strategy on Friday. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Governor Ron DeSantis gave the announcement yesterday that starting May 4th, Florida restaurants and retail stores could resume regular business but with a 25% indoor occupancy. According to Orlando’s News 6 WKMG, Mayor Demings says it might take a little more time for businesses to re-open in Orange County where Walt Disney World Resort partially resides. Mayor Demings has been discussing and receiving guidance from the Orange County Economy Recovery Task Force. During one of the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force meetings Demings said, “In order for people to have ample time to prepare to get their workers back to work and get all the equipment they need, it takes some planning.” Runaway Railway Ride Vehicles While we’ll have to wait for details regarding Mayor Deming’s plan for Orange County, he’s previously mentioned any plan would need to include a phased approach. “How we reopen Orange County must be done with extreme care,” Demings said. “We do not want to open too quickly without a solid plan in place.” See what steps the Orange County Economic Task Force thinks theme parks should take here Orange County Economic Task Force meetings are taking place live each day. We have been following along with the meetings to bring you the most up-to-date news on the Orlando theme parks, restaurants, and hotels and we will continue to do so! We’ll report back with all the details of Mayor Demings’ announcement tomorrow with regards to the impact it could potentially have on Orange County residents, so stay tuned! 3. On March 19th, California Governor Newsom issued a stay at home order for the people of his state. Soarin’ Over California But recently areas of California’s coastline have been flooded with large numbers of people, which could be prompting the Governor to close beaches and state parks. According to CNN, in a memo sent out Wednesday to police chiefs, Governor Newsom plans to announce Thursday his plan to close California’s beaches and state parks. An image below shows what Newport Beach looked like last Saturday, April 25th. Lifeguards reported most people were practicing some level of social distancing but with an estimated 80,000 visitors in attendance, Governor Newsom is eager to avoid any major setbacks in California’s progress towards fighting the virus. Newport Beach, Photo Source: The Orange County Register Read more about Governor Newsom’s Four-Stage Plan to Re-Open California here! In addition to keeping his stay at home order intact at this time, Governor Newsom says California will be mitigating the spread of the virus through contact tracing. It’s possible the state could be “weeks” away from moving to Stage Two which would lift some restrictions and permit “Lower Risk” places of work to reopen including retail, offices, and schools “with adaptions.” We’ll continue to follow this story as it develops! 4. With data showing some decline to the health crisis in Florida, the Governor is looking to professionals for a plan to reopen the state. Cinderella Castle The Re-Open Florida Task Force has been working hard to create guidelines to present to the Governor for the reopening of the state. Recently, they sent in their recommendations as a three-phased plan. Each phase in the Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida’s Recovery opens different industries a little more over time, and the document specifically addresses the opening of theme parks like Disney World. Here’s the plan! Keep in mind, this report has been submitted as guidelines — that doesn’t mean that the Governor will institute them or that they will be mandatory. Epcot Monorail As we mentioned, the plan is three phases, and to move on to the next phase the state has to show a continued decline in the health crisis. The benchmarks that the Task Force suggests the state look at when determining phases are syndromic surveillance, epidemiology & outbreak decline, and health care capability. Success in these measures means that the next phase can begin. Florida is currently in “Phase 0” meaning that large sporting events and theme parks are currently operating under restricted business measures or (like Disney) have been closed. Phase 1 Phase 1 of the plan would maintain caution against travel along with limitations on social gatherings. For theme parks specifically, the plan details that they “will remain closed.” Tower of Terror It is possible that outside-of-park restaurants, like those in Disney Springs, could open during this phase with operation at no more than 50% capacity along with distancing measures such as keeping parties separated by at least six feet. This phase also details that recreational businesses like movie theaters, concert halls, and bowling alleys could reopen with limited capacity and strict safety protocols. Phase 2 Phase 2 is marked by the suggestion that individuals may resume non-essential travel while limitations remain for social gatherings and vulnerable populations. This is also the phase where theme parks may consider reopening with capacity limits, strict distancing, and proper cleanliness measures. Walt Disney World’s Epcot If these guidelines are used, Disney World could potentially have the option of opening at this time. Also included would be the reopening of bars, pubs, and nightclubs. Restaurants and recreational businesses would be able to return to 75% capacity. Phase 3 The final phase of reopening offers fewer guidelines for social gatherings and populations. The plan says “Theme parks may return to normal operations with limited social distancing protocols.” Though there are new safety guidelines suggested, Phase 3 also allows bars, pubs, and nightclubs, restaurants, and recreational businesses to reopen fully with limited distancing protocols. Beyond that, it will be up to individual businesses how they would like to manage new protocols and procedures. Disney Springs You can read the full three-phase plan here. We will report in as soon as we have the official guidelines from the governor and dates for the reopening of the state. As of now, it looks like Florida will potentially move to a Phase 1 on May 4th. It is important to note that, while the Re-Open Florida Task Force has members that represent the Walt Disney World, there has been no official word from Disney on their future reopening procedures. And while these recommendations were outlined in a report to the governor, they do not represent the official guidelines of the Orlando theme parks. 6. As Earth Month comes to a close, we’re taking a look back at how Disney Parks, Experiences and Products celebrated the magic of nature and reminded us of ways that we can work together to protect the planet. However, these environmental initiatives are not just done during Earth Month – this is what Disney does every single day to take care of the world around us. Walt Disney World Resort shared exciting updates from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including the naming of their latest additions, a porcupette named Shelley and a Hartmann’s zebra foal, Asha. Disney Conservation Manager, Dr. Zak Gezon, also shared with guests how to make their very own pollinator garden from the comfort of home. Walt Disney World Resort has taken continuous steps to reduce our environmental footprint – including, two solar arrays that provide enough clean energy to power two theme parks. Additionally, Walt Disney World horticulturists use innovative growing techniques to help feed a growing planet. Did you know that both Sunshine Seasons and the Garden Grill Restaurant serve fresh produce and seafood grown at The Land Pavilion in EPCOT? ]At Disneyland Resort, teams protect the magic of nature through promoting practices that reduce our impact on the environment. Did you know that all five Disneyland Resort steam trains and the Mark Twain Riverboat use biodiesel made with used cooking oil from our kitchens? This process eliminates ~200,000 gallons of petroleum diesel use per year. Additionally, lighting has been upgraded throughout the Resort to energy-efficient LEDs. In fact, Sleeping Beauty Castle is illuminated year-round entirely by LEDs! Disneyland Paris shared ways that we can work together to protect the magic of nature – from turning children’s coloring activities into cartoons, to sharing information on the incredible horticulture team and special broadcasts of nature-inspired shows. As part of Disneyland Paris’s commitment to sustainable development, an innovative geothermal facility, located at Villages Nature Paris, uses naturally occurring underground heat and steam to help power the theme parks and resort areas. Additionally, Disneyland Paris is the only European theme park to have its own waste water treatment and recycling plant. Meanwhile, at Shanghai Disney Resort, cast members engaged with a self-guided tour of its eco-friendly, Wishing Star Park, where the 106th species of bird was recently sighted. Additionally, the team shared facts about native Chinese species and conservation work done in partnership with Disney Conservation Fund. Did you know that Wishing Star Lake also has a powerful water treatment plant that recycles and purifies its water? In addition to ecological benefits, the lake water is also used to irrigate resort vegetation. Fun fact: Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has on-site wood chippers that handle yard waste, including chippings and clippings from bushes and shrubs, turning plant materials into organic mulches. These wood chippers have allowed the Resort to reduce 830 tons of waste in 2019! Additionally, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has an inventive food waste recycling program. Last year, the Resort sent 770 tons of food scraps to a government-owned anaerobic digestion facility, where food waste is converted into energy! At Tokyo Disney Resort, we are committed to protecting nature and its resources for future generations, with one-sixth of our total theme park area set aside for greenery. Additionally, did you know that the Resort uses LEDs to illuminate “it’s a small world,” Cinderella’s Castle, Mount Prometheus, evening parade floats and much more? Tokyo Disney Resort also has a rigorous waste sorting process, in which cast members sort waste in accordance with detailed sorting criteria to recycle as much waste as possible. Disney Cruise Line is also dedicated to minimizing our impact on the environment through increasing fuel efficiency, minimizing waste and promoting conservation worldwide. Disney Cruise Line has reduced the amount of single-use plastics found onboard, eliminating items such as plastic straws, travel-size bathroom amenity bottles, cutlery, stirrers, shopping bags and condiment packets. Additionally, the environmental programs of Disney Cruise Line have eliminated more than 6,400 tons of metals, glass, plastic and paper through recycling, and removed more than 31,000 pounds of debris from beaches and waterways. Last week, we also shared the reintroduction of the retro Disney brand from 1984, Mickey & Co., this time featuring a new sustainable twist. The Mickey & Co. apparel line was created from up to 50% REPREVE® recycled fiber from plastic bottles, some of which were collected from Walt Disney World Resort and turned into REPREVE® recycled fiber! This month, we took the time to understand the impact that nature has on the way we live our lives and how we can draw inspiration from the wonders of the world around us. We continue to remind ourselves why it is important to care for the planet, today and every day. Follow along on my Instagram, @DrMarkatDisney, as we continue strive to protect the magic of nature! 8. The Re-Open Florida Task Force has been hard at work envisioning what Florida theme parks will need to do to open. Grand Floridian Resort in Disney World In multiple meetings last week the group, which includes Disney World President Josh D’Amaro, started to visualize the guidelines that different industries will follow. Most notably, they discussed some recommendations when it comes to opening theme parks and hotels — like those in Disney World. The reopening recommendations aren’t mandatory! Like Captain Barbossa says in Pirates of the Caribbean, they’re “more what you’d call ‘guidelines’ than actual rules.” So it will be at the individual theme park’s discretion on which ones they utilize and which ones they don’t. Still, let’s take a look at what the Task Force has recommended for theme parks. Pirates of the Caribbean According to People, the Task Force has suggested a phased reopening for the theme parks. The first phase would have the parks operating at 50% capacity, the next would have them at 75% capacity, and the final phase would constitute a full-capacity reopening. For the first two phases, they are recommending that individuals age 65 and up be discouraged from visiting. Magic Kingdom Crowds on Final Night It was also recommended that theme parks should wipe down surfaces and railings regularly and install touchless hand sanitizer dispensers at all ticketing and entry areas, turnstiles, and entry and exit points for attractions. Similar to the recommendations for restaurants, ride queues could encourage people to keep their distance from one another. Part of the guidelines includes a suggestion for markings on the ground in lines to tell guests where to stand so that there is 6 feet between them. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run FastPass Queue Depending on which guidelines Disney chooses to institute, Cast Members may see some changes to the way they work their shifts. The Task Force has envisioned employees in face masks and temperatures being taken at the start of a shift. 100.4 degrees or higher or flu-like symptoms would mean that an employee should be sent home. Universal Studios mentioned that they could potentially implement these processes along with a few others last week. You can read more about that here. Le Petit Cafe Cast Members Outside of the parks, the Task Force has discussed some interesting potential changes for hotels. It’s possible that Florida hotels, including the Disney World resorts, could institute sneeze guards at check-in counters and the removal of coffee makers, coffee cups, glassware, and minibar contents from rooms. Again, these are all suggestions and Disney has not commented on their plan of action at this time. We will continue to keep you posted on suggestions and other information for future re-opening plans as they are shared. For more insights from the Florida Task Force meetings, click here! 9. With many cities and states either strongly urging or even requiring patrons to wear masks when entering public spaces like grocery stores, it’s important to be stocked up on personal protective gear for your face! And while we found some SUPER adorable pre-made Disney masks, the demand for these items are understandably high. Folks are running into some problems with these pre-made masks; they’re either sold out or they won’t ship for weeks! ©LittleShopOfGeeks on Etsy Why not save money AND time by making your very own Disney mask! The best part is that most of these materials should already exist in your home, but if you are in need of extra fabric, we have some resources for you to check out, too! Disney SUPPLIES That You’ll Need To Make The Masks! The first and most important thing you’ll need to make sure you have well-stocked is cotton fabric. Do trips to the grocery store make you feel like you’re stepping “into the unknown” these days? Bring Anna and Elsa along on your next adventure with this Frozen 2-inspired fabric. © Amazon Like we mentioned, we found a classic Mickey design that you can use as well. © Amazon And for all you Moana fans out there, you can use this fabric, too! Give them the royal treatment with this adorable princess pattern that we found! © Walmart And finally, what can possibly be cuter than this Winnie the Pooh fabric? That’s right, nothing! © Amazon The Basics Of Making Your Own Mask Now that you have whatever cotton material you’ll be using to make your mask, we’re going to share a step-by-step guide (with pictures, of course) on how to make your mask. We are referencing instructions from the official CDC website. Method One: Sewing Here are the materials you’ll need when sewing a mask: Two 10”x6” rectangles of cotton fabric Two 6” pieces of elastic (or rubber bands, string, cloth strips, or hair ties) Needle and thread (or bobby pins) Scissors Sewing machine © Centers for Disease Control Once you have gathered your materials, follow these instructions: 1. Cut out two 10-by-6-inch rectangles of cotton fabric. Use tightly woven cotton, such as quilting fabric or cotton sheets. T-shirt fabric will work in a pinch. Stack the two rectangles; you will sew the mask as if it was a single piece of fabric. © Centers for Disease Control 2. Fold over the long sides ¼ inch and hem. Then fold the double layer of fabric over ½ inch along the short sides and stitch down. © Centers for Disease Control 3. Run a 6-inch length of 1/8-inch wide elastic through the wider hem on each side of the mask. These will be the ear loops. Use a large needle or a bobby pin to thread it through. Tie the ends tight. Don’t have elastic? Use hair ties or elastic headbands. If you only have string, you can make the ties longer and tie the mask behind your head. © Centers for Disease Control 4. Gently pull on the elastic so that the knots are tucked inside the hem. Gather the sides of the mask on the elastic and adjust so the mask fits your face. Then securely stitch the elastic in place to keep it from slipping. © Centers for Disease Control Method Two: No-Sew (T-shirt) All you’ll need for this second method is an old t-shirt and some scissors! Dig around your closet to see if you have any old Disney shirts that perhaps you no longer wear and can repurpose into a face mask! 1. Lay your old t-shirt on a flat surface and cut a 7-8 inch section from the bottom of the shirt (see diagram below). © Centers for Disease Control 2. Once you have your fabric cut from the shirt, you will cut out a 6-7 inch section from the side of the fabric. Then, you will cut the “tie strings.” © Centers for Disease Control 3. Place your t-shirt mask on your face! You will secure the two tie strings for this mask around your neck and over the top of your head, as shown below. © Centers for Disease Control If you’re loathe to waste all that t-shirt material, here’s a fun instagram tutorial on how to make both a mask and a tote-bag from one t-shirt! Method Three: No-Sew (Bandana) The second no-sew method will use bandanas. If you don’t have any bandanas, you can use any cotton fabric, as long as it measures 20″ x 20.” Make sure you have the following materials for this method. Bandana (or square cotton cloth approximately 20”x20”) Rubber bands (or hair ties) Scissors (if you are cutting your own cloth) If you are not cutting your own cloth and you already have a bandana to use, all of these steps involve folding — that’s it! SUPER simple! Follow the diagram below to see how to fold together your bandana mask. © Centers for Disease Control Once you have your masks created, you’ll want to make sure you are taking proper care of them so they’re safe to wear every time you go out! In general, you will want to wash these masks after every wear, so make sure whatever mask you choose to use is tough enough to be laundered multiple times. Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A. in Disney World A Disney World vacation is a great way to make memories with your family that will last a lifetime! But, to set yourself up for success (and minimize meltdowns!) it’s important to know what you’re in for. Here’s what you need to know when planning a trip to Disney World in November! Crowds at Disney World in November In general, the crowds at Disney World tend to be relatively low in November. But there are a few holidays to look out for! The parks tend to see more guests on Veteran’s Day (November 11th), since guests will often build short trips around the long weekend. And you’ll see the biggest crowds this month during the week of Thanksgiving! The CUTEST Thanksgiving Cupcake Outside of the dates surrounding these two holidays, attendance tends to be pretty light in November. So, keep that in mind if you have some flexibility in your travel schedule! Here are the best places in Disney World to celebrate Thanksgiving! Disney World Park Hours in November While the more manageable crowds are awesome, there is a tradeoff — with lighter attendance in November, the parks typically close a few hours earlier than busier times of the year. Most of the parks will close at 8PM or 9PM throughout the month. And remember that Magic Kingdom will close at 6PM several nights of the week for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad In the past, the parks have stayed open later during the week of Thanksgiving — but again, the crowds will be a lot thicker that week! Here are 6 Disney World planning tips everyone forgets! Weather at Disney World in November While the summer months can bring intense heat and humidity, the weather in Disney World tends to be super nice in the fall! The average high temperature will be in the mid-to-high 70s, and the average low is the high 50s to low 60s. Spaceship Earth That means you’ll definitely want to layer! Those early mornings and fireworks evenings can be c-c-c-cold! Another benefit of November weather — it is one of the LEAST rainy months in Central Florida, with an average of 3 rainy days. But it still doesn’t hurt to be prepared with a poncho and an extra pair of shoes in your suitcase in case a storm does pop up! Check out these 16 important things you’ll forget to do before your Disney World trip! How to Pack for Disney World in November The temperature can be chilly during the mornings and evenings, but it will usually get pretty comfortable in the afternoon. So, be sure to pack clothes that can easily be layered! Bring a jacket or sweatshirt, hat, scarf, and gloves that you can wear in the morning, and store in your park bag when it gets hot! (You’d be surprised how much a scarf can help!) Early Morning at Cinderella Castle And even though November doesn’t tend to be too rainy by Florida standards, you’ll definitely want to at least pack an extra pair of comfy shoes, in case yours get wet! Trust us, there’s nothing more uncomfortable than walking around Disney World in soggy shoes! Epcot Food and Wine Festival If a trip to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival is on your bucket list, you’ll definitely want to pay close attention to the dates of your trip! Every year, the pastry chef team constructs a HUGE gingerbread house in the lobby that serves as a holiday sweets shop, selling cookies and more! 18. There are literally HUNDREDS of restaurants to dine in around Disney World and Disneyland, so how could we ever pick the cream of the crop? 21 Royal Dining Room You’d be surprised — it’s actually pretty easy. There are a few Disney meals that stand heads and shoulders above the others. That’s why we’re taking a look at these exclusive (and often expensive!) dining experiences. Check out the 7 best Disney restaurant meals of ALL TIME. Note these are not RANKED…they all win awards for different reasons! 1. Twilight Feast First up on our list is the Twilight Feast at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We love a good meal at ‘Ohana, in fact, it’s one of our favorite restaurants in Disney World! We give their grilled meats, potstickers, teriyaki noodles, and bread pudding two enthusiastic thumbs up! Still, there is a way to make ‘Ohana a more relaxing and private experience — by ordering the Twilight Feast! How We Love Thee, Twilight Feast If you’re staying at the Polynesian, you can pick up that phone and order a special room service meal ONLY available at this hotel. The Twilight Feast brings alllll the ‘Ohana faves right to you in the comfort of your room (and if you’re anything like us, the comfort of you in your jammies!). Twilight Feast You’ll be dining on Pineapple Coconut Bread, Salad, Spiced Chicken Wings, Asian-style Pot Stickers, Yakisoba Noodles, Stir-fried Vegetables, ‘Ohana Sunset Punch (POG juice!!), Skewered Meats, Oak-grilled Shrimp, and ‘OHANA BREAD PUDDING. Oh gosh, now we’re hungry. The full Twilight Feast is $60 per person. We know, that sounds like a crazy high price for ONE PERSON but — here’s a tip — it’s easily enough food to feed 2 people (or more! We had leftovers for breakfast!). Click here to check out our FULL REVIEW of the ‘Ohana Twilight Feast! 2. 21 Royal Now we’re taking a look at the most expensive Disney meal EVER. No, we’re not exaggerating. Tucked away in a historic space above Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean, you’ll find one of the most luxurious dining experiences pretty much anywhere — 21 Royal. If you want to take part, you’ll just be dropping a cool $15,000 for a maximum party size of 12. Whew. 21 Royal Parlor Part of Walt Disney’s dream for Disneyland Park included a private space within the park where he and his wife could entertain family, friends, dignitaries, and celebrities. Unfortunately, Walt passed before the space could be completed, but the escape did come to fruition. 21 Royal has served many purposes over the years, such as the Disney Dream Suite and an Art Gallery, but now it stands as a super-exclusive dining experience. When Spring Calls Now, we can’t say too much about what your menu will be at 21 Royal because it’s different for every group of diners; however, our menu was FANTASTIC. In fact, the entire experience is top-notch — as is to be expected with the price tag. Not only is this six-course meal full of interesting and rare dishes, but each course is also accompanied by a sommelier-crafted wine pairing. Oh and did we mention the cocktail hour? Plus, each diner receives Park Hopper tickets AND you’ll get a perfect view of Fantasmic from the 21 Royal balcony. Wow. To read our full review of the 21 Royal experience, click here! 3. Marc Davis Centennial Dinner INSIDE the Haunted Mansion Ok so this next one isn’t really a RESTAURANT meal, but it certainly is one of the best meals we’ve had at Disney, and checked off some major items on our Disney Bucket List. A few years ago, Dining in Disneyland’s Heather Sievers (who’s also our original Disneyland correspondent here on DFB) attended the Marc Davis Centennial Dinner in a pretty cool location. Now when we say pretty cool we mean a totally crazy, jaw-dropping, we can’t believe we got to do this (!!!) kind of place. She ate dinner INSIDE Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion! Table for 34 How did she get to do this? Well, this dinner was actually a private Club 33 event. So, you either had to be a member of the ultra-exclusive Disneyland club or a guest of a member to attend. We’re not even sure Club 33 will ever do another event of this kind, so that makes it even MORE of an exclusive experience. “Tightrope” The evening started with a ride in the Stretching Room to get to her table set IN THE HAUNTED MANSION PORTRAIT HALLWAY. Yes, we’re still freaking out seven years later. Like at 21 Royal, each of the five-courses had a wine pairing to accompany it. However, at THIS dinner guests were chowing down on stretching portrait themed eats like the Quick Sand-wich, Out with a Bang, and Tightrope, and finishing their meal with the jaw-dropping Madame Leota’s Sweet Seance (yes, it’s a glowing edible Madame Leota crystal ball!). Madam Leota Dessert Glowing Green Madam Leota’s Color Changing Spectacular! So, yeah, this one kinda tops the charts for us. If that kinda thing strikes your fancy and you’ve got tens of thousands of dollars to spare, you might want to take a look at the exclusive Club 33 (but we’ll talk about that a little more soon). Click here to learn more about our once-in-a-lifetime Haunted Mansion evening! 4. Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table This next one isn’t QUITE as expensive or exclusive, but you’ll still pay a pretty penny to dine at Victoria & Albert’s Chef’s Table in Disney World. Victoria & Albert’s is an AMAZING fine dining establishment located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Chef’s Table is a perfectly crafted extension of an amazing dining experience — perfect for any true food lover. Chef cooking at Victoria and Albert’s The Chef’s Table here may include up to thirteen courses with prices starting at $210 per person with an added $105 for wine pairings. Those prices don’t include tax or gratuity either so this experience is STEEP. But is it worth it? Yes. So much yes. Sake-Soy-marinated Long Island Duck with Bok Choy and Soy Beans This meal will have you dining IN the Victoria & Albert’s kitchen on a menu crafted just for your event. When we went, we had a positively stunning line-up on our menu with dishes like Bleu Cheese Fondue, Veal Sweetbread and Shank, and Roasted Quail. The BEST part of this experience for us was the chance to watch and interact with some incredibly talented chefs hard at work. Chef Joe prepares Octopus in the Victoria and Albert’s Kitchen It’s truly amazing to get a close-up view of one of the finest kitchens around. It doesn’t hurt the food is incredible too. Napa Rose Chef’s Counter Napa Rose, the Signature Restaurant in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland, offers an exclusive dining experience at the restaurant’s Chef’s Counter. This is offered in two seatings per night and has eight seats with an unobstructed view of the kitchen. The chef diligently working out our menu. Dining at the Chef’s Counter means that you can either order from the regular menu or you can opt for a custom multi-course menu designed by the chef just for you. We bet you can guess which one makes for the more memorable meal. Veal Filet with Apricot Chutney and Summer Vegetables Entree at the Chef’s Counter What’s really fun if you opt for the custom menu is that each person in your party will be served a unique dish for each course! This makes for a lot of fun if you’re willing to share! Roasted Pigeon — A Second Course During Our Chef’s Counter Experience This experience is going to run you $100 per person with an additional wine pairing available, but it sure is worth it. When we dined at the Chef Counter at Napa Rose, our custom menu included truly delicious rabbit and pigeon. And we loved it! Want to learn more about the Napa Rose Chef’s Counter? Click here! 6. Club 33 in Disneyland Remember Club 33? Time to learn a lot more about this ULTRA exclusive secret Disney club. Club 33 in Disneyland is an actual restaurant, and it’s got a pretty FAB meal that definitely makes this list. But first, we gotta talk about what it takes to dine here. Club 33 is members-only and the wait for membership has been said to be approximately 14 years. Whew. Last we heard, the waiting list was closed to new members (even celebrities have a tough time getting in!). Join us at Club 33 BUT you can get in if you’re invited by a member of Club 33, which we were lucky enough to do! Like 21 Royal, this New Orleans Square space was designed by Walt with ideas of entertaining VIPs and friends and family in the comfort of the parks. It is a GORGEOUS space. What really makes this experience special is WHERE you’re dining. Before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened last year, this was famously the ONLY spot in Disneyland to serve alcohol! Chicken and Truffled Mac and Cheese at Club 33 Of course, the food is delicious, too! When we dined for lunch we had appetizers, chicken with truffled mac and cheese, and chateaubriand with Yukon mashed potatoes. Delish! Now, we will say that the food isn’t quite as culinarily stunning as what you might find at Napa Rose or Victoria & Albert’s, but the exclusiveness of the experience does PLENTY to make up for it. Wishing you could join Club 33? Get the full scoop on our experience here! 7. Takumi-Tei Water Room We’re wrapping up our list of the BEST meals in Disney with a brand new option — the Water Room at Takumi-Tei in Epcot. Takumi-Tei is a new Signature Restaurant in the Japan Pavilion of World Showcase. Our first meal here was a stunning and LENGTHY experience with traditional and delicious Japanese cuisine. Takumi Tei But the Water Room is EXTRA special. This gorgeous room houses the Chef’s Table experience at Takumi-Tei. This space was designed to “immerse diners in a tranquil setting that reflects the balance between nature and Japanese art.” With an indoor waterfall and a “river” in your table, this room really does what it set out to do! Kamo (Seared Duck) Each meal at the Chef’s Table features an exclusive menu and is available for parties of six to eight for dinner service. The experience costs $180 per person with an added $100 for beverage service. Hama no Kani (Yep, There are Baby Crabs in There!) This is a 9 course, 4 hour meal but it is WORTH IT. We enjoyed gorgeous plate of food after gorgeous plate of food along with pairings of wine or sake per course. The meal was capped off with a tableside green tea ceremony. The whole experience was matched with impeccable service. Every aspect was SO pretty, SO tasty, and SO fancy! Check out our full Takumi-Tei review here. Sure, a few of these are WAY out of reach for average visitors, but if you’re looking for a next-level experience on either coast, there are a few fantastic options perfect for a special night out (or IN, if you’re getting that Twilight Feast!). We hope you enjoyed looking over these delicious meals as much as we enjoyed eating them to share with you! Have you dined on any of these AH-MAZING Disney meals? Tell us in the comments! 24. With Florida’s stay at home order set to expire April 30th, we learned yesterday Governor Ron DeSantis would be making a big announcement today. D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs And while some beaches and parks have already begun to re-open throughout parts of Florida, Governor DeSantis has just laid out his plan to gradually re-open more businesses and public areas in the following weeks to come. Governor Ron DeSantis has been meeting regularly with the Re-Open Florida Task Force, a team comprised of business leaders across several areas of commerce. Over the last week, they’ve discussed many possible safety regulations and guidelines for restarting the state’s economy. Several members of the committee represent Florida’s tourism industry including President of Walt Disney World Resort Josh D’Amaro. Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World Click here to read some of the new guidelines regarding Florida’s theme parks being discussed by the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force here! But while many of these new proposals are being talked about openly and often, there hasn’t been an official date attached to Florida’s expected re-opening. Today, Governor Ron DeSantis finally announced starting May 4th, Florida would slowly begin to reopen businesses including retail stores and restaurants in what he is referring to as “Phase One.” This will exclude Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Governor DeSantis hopes these three counties can join the rest of the state soon, but so far Southern Florida has been the most impacted. Monorail passing through Disney World’s Epcot During Phase One, Florida restaurants and shops will be able to re-open with a indoor occupancy of 25%. Restaurants will also be allowed to offer outdoor seating with six feet of spacing between tables. Splash Mountain Elective surgeries will also resume in Phase One as long as hospitals have adequate PPE and can prevent a surge in cases from occurring. Schools will continue practicing distance learning while no visitors in long-term care or senior living facilities will be permitted until rapid testing is more readily available. Governor DeSantis will reconsider this issue when it’s safer to do so. Walt Disney World Larger venues such as movie theaters will not open in Phase One. “Prudence dictates we go a little slower on that,” Governor DeSantis said. He’s also waiting on gyms and bars until he sees how it’s working out with other states. Personal services that require face-to-face interactions such as hair salons and barbershops are not expected to open at this time either. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Governor DeSantis also gave a list of his priorities moving forward which included protecting Florida’s more vulnerable communities, increasing testing, continuing to promote social distancing, keeping hospitals from reaching capacity, and preventing the introduction of the virus from outside the state. At this time Governor DeSantis recommends residents with pre-existing health conditions or those who are over the age of 65 to continue taking extra precautions by practicing social distancing and not going out unless absolutely necessary. We’ll continue to update this story as more information becomes available. Related posts: Florida is Working Out a Plan to Reopen Businesses.
