SeaWorld Reopening T-Shirt And there are additional new items available upon reopening, too. SeaWorld Orlando Face Masks In case you missed it earlier, there are reusable Face Masks available for purchase (as they are required for guests to wear throughout the park). Mask, gloves, and sanitizer for sale You’ll spot some fairly unique designs among the options (which, by the way, were available today for Buy Three, Get One Free)… Face Masks Display Check out those Dolphin and Shark face masks on the top row! Now that Disney World is reopening July 11th and July 15th and Disneyland has a proposed reopening date, both resorts have stated they will be utilizing a new reservation system which will require all guests — including Annual Passholders — obtain a reservation to enter a park in advance of their visit. Annual Passholder Magnet We’ve been receiving a TON of questions about how this new reservation system will affect Annual Passholders since Disney hasn’t released very much info on the subject yet! Disney World recently launched a new webpage for APs where we learned Annual Passholders will only be allowed to hold a certain number of reserved days at one time while park capacity is limited, but they didn’t give any explanation on what kind of compensation APs could expect for not being able to fully utilize their annual passes. Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Thanks to a tip from nuptiousdisney on Instagram, we noticed something very interesting over on Shanghai Disneyland’s Annual Pass website. Shanghai Disneyland reopened on May 11th and is also using a new reservation system. Similar to Disney World and Disneyland’s annual passes, they’ve extended expiration dates for APs who have paid-in-full for their memberships or kept up with payments by how many days the parks have been closed, BUT their policy also says they will be extending expiration dates for the amount of time that their new reservation system will be in use, too! Screenshot from Shanghai Disneyland’s Website If Shanghai Disneyland is implementing this new extension to make up for the AP restrictions, it seems possible this could happen for Disney World and Disneyland APs as well. Keep in mind though that neither Disney World nor Disneyland has stated that this will be the case once the U.S. parks reopen. Find out more details about Disney World’s Annual Passholder preview of the theme parks here! If Passholders have limited ability to access the parks during the initial reopening, an extension on passes through the first phase of the reopening would likely be a well-received gesture. Again, Disney World and Disneyland have NOT made this announcement on their websites, but we’ll be watching and let you know the second we see any updates! Could this Annual Pass glitch keep you from getting a reservation when the parks reopen? Find out here! What do you think? Should Disney World and Disneyland extend annual passes while the new reservation system is in use? Let us know in the comments below! Psst! Avast there! It be too late to alter course, mateys—and there be plunderin’ pirates lurkin’ in every cove, waitin’ to board. ©Disney If you’re seeking adventure on the high seas, it doesn’t get much better than Pirates of the Caribbean — one of Disney’s most ICONIC rides! But maybe it’s been a while since your last voyage, so here’s a refresher (as well as a little background info) on one of our absolute FAVORITE attractions at the Disney parks! Type of Attraction Pirates of the Caribbean is a slow, dark boat ride. It’s such a classic attraction, you’ll find a version of it at all the Disney theme parks except for Hong Kong Disneyland! We’re going to focus on the two versions of the attraction in the United States. Locations Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean originally opened at Disneyland on March 18, 1967 in New Orleans Square. Nearly double the length of Disney World’s attraction, Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean clocks in at 14-1/2 minutes long and has TWO drops instead of only one! These were built not as much for thrills as for necessity — the drops take guests under the Disneyland Railroad to the main show building beyond the train tracks. Speaking of those drops, the waterfall you drop down is 52′ long, the first drop is only about 18 feet. The second drop is an even shorter 13-foot plunge! ©Disney Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland The Disneyland version actually features a unique reverse waterfall at the end of the attraction as well. After all those drops, Imagineers needed a way to get guests back up above ground, so a slow-moving ramp hidden in rushing water was conceived to return guests to the loading area. See how Disneyland celebrated the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean here! Another key difference is how Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean starts! Looking around, you’ll notice the setting looks more like a Louisiana swamp, complete with an antebellum mansion you float past, than the Caribbean Islands! That’s because the theming of the Pirates attraction was based on real New Orleans pirates like Jean Lafitte, making the New Orleans Square setting appropriate. And that antebellum mansion? That’s because Blue Bayou Restaurant shares a building with the ride! Blue Bayou Restaurant That means you can actually DINE INSIDE Disneyland’s version of the attraction! Once you disembark, you’ll exit next to Pieces of Eight — Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean-themed gift shop! There’s usually some cool Nightmare Before Christmas stuff inside too! Read our review of Blue Bayou Restaurant here! Walt Disney World Pirates of the Caribbean is located in Adventureland’s Caribbean Plaza at Magic Kingdom, just past the Jungle Cruise. The ride opened at Disney World on December 15, 1973, and lasts 8-1/2 minutes. ©Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Only one 14-foot drop takes place at the beginning of the ride, and although it has fewer scenes than Disneyland’s, you’ll still see 125 Audio-Animatronics figures, including 65 pirates and villagers and 60 animals and birds! The New Orleans storyline and a large portion of the pirates’ lair section of the ride were cut for Disney World’s version. After you ride, check out the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar gift shop for some sweet pirate-themed merch! Learn more about February’s Minnie Mouse: Main Attraction’s Pirates of the Caribbean-themed collection here! Wait Times Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland normally has an average 20-40 minute wait time while Disney World’s version typically has a 20-60 minute standby line. For the shortest wait, try riding Pirates of the Caribbean before noon or after 5 PM. Accessibility There is no age or height requirement to ride Pirates of the Caribbean at either Disney park. ©Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Loading Area Guests using an EVC or wheelchairs can ride Pirates of the Caribbean at both parks if they are able to transfer. Audio description and handheld captioning devices are also available for guests at Disney World and Disneyland. FastPass? While you can’t get a FASTPASS to ride Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney World’s version is FastPass+ eligible. Story Details On both versions of the ride, you’ll explore a damp pirates’ cave and witness an enormous galleon ship exchanging cannonball blasts with a fortress! You’ll hear them whiz over your head and maybe even get splashed by a few as they land! ©Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Once inside the village, you’ll encounter the marauding pirates and revel in their escapades, which includes a lot of RUM and SINGING! Refurbishments Pirates of the Caribbean has undergone several modifications over the years. While both Disneyland and Disney World’s version of Pirates of the Caribbean existed long before the popular movie franchise that began in 2003, Captain Jack Sparrow and his rival Barbossa were added to both rides in 2006 following the success of the films. The 2006 additions included a waterfall made of mist that guests floated through, featuring projections of some of the films’ villains. This effect was later removed in 2018 in both parks. The 2006 addition in Disneyland also included a notable prop from the first Pirates film — the treasure chest of Cortés prop was placed in the pirates’ lair section of the ride atop a mountain of pirate loot. ©Disney Jack Sparrow was added in multiple locations throughout the village scene of the ride, including one of the ride’s more controversial moments — the barrel scene. Originally a smarmy pirate resting near a barrel gloated as he admired a woman’s undergarments he held, with the woman hiding in the barrel behind him popping up from time to time. Now, he holds a key and Jack Sparrow resides in the barrel! Check out these 20 Disney ride hacks you need to know before your next visit here! Speaking of controversial — this ride has many scenes that have caused a ruckus over the years. Many guests also remember the original Pirates of the Caribbean’s “chase scene” know that it showed male pirates pursuing the village’s women. The scene was first altered to show the pirates chasing after the women in pursuit of items they were carrying, and not just the ladies themselves. The scene was later altered EVEN FURTHER to show the women angrily chasing the men with rolling pins and other objects in their hands! Most recently, and perhaps most controversially, the “Take a Wench for a Bride” scene was altered at both Disneyland and Disney World. The famous Mercado scene used to display women being auctioned off to pirates along with the chant, “We wants the Redhead!” Pirates of the Caribbean Auction Scene ©Disney The scene was swapped in 2018, and the “Redhead” is no longer a villager but now a plundering pirate named Redd! She’s no longer being auctioned off — but she’s helping to oversee the auction of the village’s goods to increase their rum supply instead! A few smaller additions have been introduced over the years including the short-lived underwater mermaid effect in Walt Disney World’s version in 2012. This was tied into the release of Pirates of the Caribbean — On Stranger Tides, which featured siren-like mermaids. A tied-up mermaid skeleton was added to the beach scene nearby as well. The effect was difficult to maintain since it was completely below the water and it was rarely working, so it was ultimately removed in 2018 along with the mermaid skeleton. Overlays Pirates of the Caribbean in Disney World receives a couple of overlays throughout the year for special events. We use the term overlay loosely here — it’s really just a few costumed real pirates in the queue and in scenes of the ride! This still makes the experience more engaging and keeps you on your toes looking for who’s actually REAL! Pirates of the Caribbean Cast Member (Not an Animatronic!) You’ll find this overlay as part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Villains After Hours. The two events’ overlays are basically the same, but we did notice for the most recent Villains After Hours it felt like there were a few more pirates than we’d seen at the Halloween Parties. Look for pirates hiding in the more open areas of the queue, as well in a couple spots on the ride. They can speak and interact with guests, so don’t be surprised to hear them try to talk you into helping them hunt for treasure! Check out the Pirates of the Caribbean Redd-Themed Minnie Ears here! History Walt Disney originally designed the attraction in the 1950s, but back then he imagined it as a wax museum and a walk-through adventure! It was one of the last attractions with which Walt Disney was intimately involved. and originally Disney World was never going to have a Pirates of the Caribbean attraction! ©Disney Pirates of the Caribbean Imagineers thought Florida was too close to the actual Caribbean Islands, and that people wouldn’t be interested in it. But when Disney World opened in 1971 WITHOUT the ride, guests were adamant about getting Pirates of the Caribbean! Guests consistently asked Cast Members where Disney World’s version of the ride was located only to be told there wasn’t one! Disney listened and put it in a few years later in 1973! Tips As you prepare to exit the grotto at Disney World (and encounter the drop) — there’s an on-ride camera that will snap your photo to your left! (Smile and say “CHEESE!” at the talking skull and crossbones.) View it later on the My Disney Experience app where you can download or purchase it! © Disney Say CHEESE! You’ll Have Your Picture Taken on Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom! There are also several hidden Mickeys in the treasure room where Jack Sparrow sits at the end! Look for them on four metal lamps –the lamps are located on each column and two more located on either side of the archway walls. We hope you’ll get to ride Pirates of the Caribbean soon! Until then, how about joining us in a rousing chorus of “Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Pirate’s Life for Me”? Any takers? Is Pirates of the Caribbean one of your favorite rides at the Disney parks? Disney World is reopening on July 11th, but that doesn’t mean that everyone who wants to go will be able to. Walt Disney World Not only is Disney set to significantly reduce capacity in the theme parks, but some travelers may not even have a chance at planning their vacation in the first place. After all, you don’t have to worry about whether or not you can get into the parks if you’re not able to get into Florida! We’re taking a look at some of the current laws and factors that could prohibit a Disney trip for some. International travelers may have some issues getting to Disney World. For one, those coming from outside of the country may have a difficult time getting to Orlando. 20% of attendance in Disney World is attributed to international travelers, so we know there are some international folks who are excited to get to the parks. Right now though, there are some things in their way. Walt Disney World For one, the U.S. State Travel Department has a Stage 4 Global Travel Advisory in effect. That means “Do Not Travel.” Due to the global health crisis, many government agencies are not deeming it safe to travel for leisure. Of course, an advisory doesn’t mean that you CAN’T travel, but some countries have full-out bans in effect. According to the CDC, travel to the U.S. is banned for those who spent any of the previous 14 days in China, Iran, the European Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, Ireland, or Brazil. Beyond that, over 140 countries have closed their borders and/or enacted travel bans — many of them prohibiting travel to or from the U.S. and still in effect. If those bans aren’t lifted, Disney lovers in those countries will be out of luck at reopening. Magic Kingdom PLUS, the international air travel industry took a major hit during the crisis. Per Forbes, though international flights are starting to come back, they are limited. Finding flights to Orlando may not be easy or even possible for some international travelers IF they are permitted to travel. Click here to learn more about how Disney is limiting capacity in the theme parks! For some Disney-lovers in the U.S., it may be impossible to get to the parks. International travelers aren’t the only ones who may have some issues. Anyone entering Florida from Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York must undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine upon entering the state. However, this order is set to expire on July 7th, unless the Florida Governor decides to extend the order. Currently, this quarantine applies regardless of method of transportation, and the costs of quarantine, including lodging, fall on the traveler. Disney’s Beach Club Resort Most folks will not have the means to spend two weeks in quarantine before they can get on with their Disney trip. You’d have to spend a pretty long time in Disney to make the trip worth two weeks of quarantine! Even if you are NOT traveling from the New York tri-state area, you still need to check out the current health measures of your state and any state you may be traveling through. You may run into border checkpoints, curfews, stay at home orders, and more. Want to read about Disney World’s reopening? Click here! What can you do about this? The solution? Stay informed. This is a developing situation and different states and countries are changing their health measures and restrictions all the time. You may have to wait it out until travel becomes a part of the norm again. For EVERYTHING you need to know about returning to Disney, click here! Are you worried about getting to the Disney parks? There are lots of health-based changes coming to Disney World as it reopens. Disney Springs Reopening Perhaps the most contentious of these changes is the required face coverings in all public areas of the resort. We’ve already shared what it’s like to spend the day in a face mask in the Florida heat and some tips for feeling comfortable. But everyone ages 2 and up has to wear one — which is leaving a number of parents wondering how on earth do you get your 2-year-old to wear a mask all day??? We’ve got some tips to help! 1. Choose the right mask. If you think picking the right mask for you is tough, comfort is going to be about 9000 times more important when choosing a mask for your child! Disney is not requiring a specific type of face-covering to enter the park, which means you’re good with an ear-loop mask, a tied mask, a neck gaiter (the kind you wear around your neck and pull up), and more as long as it securely covers your nose and mouth. American Threads Face Masks at Disney Springs You don’t want to give your 2-year-old the same kind of mask that you’re wearing. First of all, you want their mask to fit their little faces. Forbes has a great list of masks for infants and kids. The better the mask fits, the fewer times your kid might try to rip it off in a fit of discomfort. Some of the parents on our team have had more luck with the neck gaiter-style face masks. These don’t have the annoying loops for the ears and feel more familiar and comfortable — like wearing a scarf. © Amazon Kids respond to colors, patterns, and designs. Let them choose a few patterns they like — they’ll be more likely to wear it if THEY chose it themselves (but more on that in a bit!). Disney-themed Cloth Face Masks ©Disney If you opt for a traditional mask, REALLY put thought to how it secures. Members of our team with young kids had pretty bad results with masks with ties (they slip down your kid’s head, they’re too tight, too loose…basically they’re drove our kids [and us!] crazy!). Worried about comfort in your mask? Click here! 2. Plan for and promise a LOT of breaks. Once you’re in the parks, get ready to take a LOT of breaks. Like the URest Areas in Universal Orlando, Disney has proposed “relaxation zones” in the parks where you and your toddler can remove your face masks and take a breather. URest Area Entrance Promise your kid that you’ll take breaks whenever they need one and plan to take a LOT of breaks in the day. In fact, you might even take more than you had originally planned. If those masks get irritating or your child isn’t used to them (especially the younger kiddos), you’re going to need to know where the nearest relaxation zone is FAST. Remember that meals can be an option for a break, too! Guests can remove masks while seated at a dining table so factor that in when planning your theme park day. Order up some chicken nuggs and let your kiddo take a much-needed break at a quick-service spot or book a dining reservation (once they become available again) to let your tyke relax mask free over a long meal. Click here to learn more about Disney’s proposed “relaxation zones!” 3. Give them treats as a break and a reward. If there’s one thing that might work with getting a fussy kid to wear a mask, it’s bribery. Not speaking from experience or anything! So, if your little one is hanging in there with their mask, get ready to grab that Mickey Bar. Even if you would typically buy your littles a treat in the park, frame it as a reward so they feel better about keeping their masks on. Premium Mickey Ice Cream Bar at Disney World Plus, in Disney Springs, guests are allowed to pull their mask down while eating a grab and go treat. If the Disney parks follow a similar model, that Mickey Bar or rice krispie treat might act as both a reward and a mask break too. Coconut Chocolate Rice Krispie Consider alternative treats as well! Little ones might love a fun Mickey straw that they can sip under their mask, or let them have a piece of candy to keep them occupied and not so worried about their mouths being covered. Want to learn more about eating on the go in Disney Springs? Click here! 4. Practice wearing a mask at home. This next one is a BIG ONE. Before your trip, make sure that you AND your kiddo practice wearing a mask at home. Things might not go too well if your 2-year-old has never seen or worn a mask in their life and suddenly has to wear one for hours on end in the Florida heat. Disney Springs Safety Ambassadors © Disney In fact, some kids might not be used to having anything on their face in general. Consider starting with sunglasses or something else on the face that doesn’t impede breathing. Once they’re comfy with that, move on to a mask. Start by having them wear it for a little bit at a time and work up to longer periods. This will help them to feel more comfortable and you can get a sense of their limits. Advent Health Cast Member at Temperature Screening Don’t just have them try their mask out inside either! Wear a mask WITH your masked kiddo so they see it’s a whole-family activity and go on a walk to get used to wearing one outdoors. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can also take them to a park, mall, or community area where masks are required to show them that others are wearing them as well. Click here to learn about who is required to wear a mask in Disney! 5. Let them pick out their masks — and your mask! We touched on this one initially, but seriously this can be the key for many parents — let your kids pick out not just their masks but yours as well! They might be more inclined to wear a mask if it has their favorite characters or a silly print on it. Disney has some awesome branded mask designs that your kid might love! Disney-themed Cloth Face Masks ©Disney Masks can be frightening for some small children so having them involved in the process of picking them out and making an event out of it makes it feel special. Plus, if you’re wearing a mask THEY select, they might respond better to seeing mom or dad decked out in a mask. To find out where you can buy Disney masks, click here! 6. Give them an incentive if they wear the mask all day. Remember that bribery thing we talked about? Yeah, it’s gonna be your best weapon in your “keep my toddler masked” arsenal! Consider coming up with an incentive if your kid will wear their mask all day, and stick to it. If you promise them something, give it to them if they do well and withhold it if they don’t so that they know you expect them to do better the next day. Once Upon A Toy Opt for something you wouldn’t normally get them like a super cool toy from a Disney gift store. Sorry mom and dad, you might be spoiling junior this trip to entice them to follow the rules! If they feel like it’s special or they HAVE to have it, you might see their sense of restraint kick in. Mask on all day? You can get anything you want from the gift shop (within reason )! Bribery=Your Best Friend! Keep in mind that for many kids, their greatest weakness comes in the form of a chance to play in your resort pool (we totally get it — Disney’s pools are mega fun). Guests do NOT need to wear a mask while swimming so this is a way to give your kids a (free!) reward they’re probably already begging for AND a chance to go mask-free for a while. Disney’s Riviera Resort Pool If your kid is practically a mermaid, like many of ours, plan on heading back to your resort mid-day for a dip in the pool and remind your kid if they wear their mask all day, they have swimming to look forward to! Does wearing a mask all day sound like no fun? Click here! 7. Keep your kiddo cool! We’ve got another big one for you here. Keep your kid cool! This is an important tip for any time in Disney World (Florida is HOT!) but it’s going to be especially important with those masks! Most face masks don’t impede breathing but they will trap heat on your little one’s face. Avoid paying for overpriced water! There are a few ways to help mitigate the effects of this. Grab a clip-on fan for your stroller or a handheld fan that you can use to give your kid some extra air when they need it. Remember, you can get free ice water from any quick-service location, so stop for a cool drink whenever you can. Plus, you can always duck into gift shops or attractions for an AC escape! Click here to see other things you didn’t know you could do in Disney World! 8. Show them that wearing a mask is normal, and even fun! Ok, so wearing a mask isn’t normal and it would be a stretch for most of us to call it fun. But you know the same way you might put a big smile on and eat those brussels sprouts in front of your kiddo so they realize it’s not a bad thing, and they can do it, too? Same thing here. We’ve touched on this already with letting them pick their mask design and taking them somewhere that masks are mandatory, but we figured it deserved its own point too. Cast Member with required face mask If you think it will work, try enlisting an older sibling (one they look up to or think is cool!) to help with encouraging the younger one to wear a mask. Or, go about it in a cute and fun way! Consider getting them a new Mickey plush to bring on the trip and buy or sew a little mask for their new Mickey! This can help normalize the idea of masks and make them less scary. For choosing the BEST mask for your Disney summer, click here! Overall, you need to take your kid’s individual needs into account when considering a return to Disney. Know their limits; for some, wearing a mask all day in a theme park just might not be feasible. Gauge in advance whether the trip is worth the effort for your family, if it is, get ready to have fun! Ever since Walt Disney World’s shopping district, Disney Springs, reopened on May 20th, more and more restaurants and retailers have been coming back. Disney Springs And today TONS of spots reopened, including DisneyStyle, City Works Eatery & Pour House, and The Ganachery. But that’s not all! Raglan Road is back! The Irish pub and restaurant planned to reopen on June 10th, and open on June 10th they did! And you KNOW we were on the scene to check it out. Raglan Road People were pretty pumped to see Raglan Road reopening, and there was a line outside the restaurant. Raglan Road reopening Like other spots around Disney Springs, Raglan Road had a sign out front outlining its health and safety measures, including keeping 6 feet away from others, increased sanitization, and safe screens in front of staff. Raglan Road sign We were seated outside at the restaurant, where we noticed a contactless QR code menu, but if you don’t have a smartphone, don’t worry — Raglan Road is also offering paper menus upon request. Raglan Road QR Menu Upon its reopening, Raglan Road is offering a condensed menu, but items like the Shepherd’s to Die for Pie, Fish & Chips, and the Braised Be Beef are still available. Raglan Road paper menu To get a little taste of Raglan Road again, we sat down and ordered an appetizer. But before our order came out, our server gave us some complimentary Irish soda bread with a Guinness and sugar reduction with olive oil for dipping. Irish soda bread at Raglan Road As for the food we ordered, we opted for the Nom Nom Wings, which come smothered in an Asian-inspired sauce with honey, chili flakes, soy sauce, and ginger sauce. We found these $15.00 wings a tad salty for our tastebuds, but when paired with an ice-cold pint, they could be pretty satisfying. Nom Nom Wings at Raglan Road When we got our check, we were brought a contactless card reader, where we could tap or swipe our card. Contactless card reader at Raglan Road Beyond the restaurant’s indoor and outdoor dining areas, Raglan’s Road retail store reopened today so you can stock up on Guinness T-shirts and other Irish pub-inspired goods. Raglan Road store reopening In the store, we noticed social distancing markers on the floor, plexiglass in front of cashiers, and a sign asking guests to touch as few items as possible. Raglan Road store And because you KNOW Disney Springs LOVES its outdoor bars, Raglan Road’s own outdoor to-go bar was setting up, ready to pour pints and glasses of wine. Raglan Road outdoor bar reopening Slowly but surely, more spots are opening back up at Disney Springs, making this shopping district feel a bit more like its old self again! Seeing Raglan Road reopened and buzzing gets us even MORE excited for when Walt Disney World theme parks reopen in mid-July! Click here to read our full review of Raglan Road at Disney Springs! Disneyland FINALLY has a proposed reopening date! ©Disney After days of speculation, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure have proposed to reopen on July 17th! BUT, if you don’t already have tickets to visit the Happiest Place on Earth, you’re out of luck for now. According to an announcement from Disneyland, there is now a temporary pause on new ticket sales, Annual Pass sales, and renewals. Disneyland Annual Passholder Magnet While Disney has yet to offer up more details on what this entails, this is a similar situation to what we saw when Walt Disney World announced it planned to reopen its theme parks on July 11th. Early Morning at Cinderella Castle Disney World temporarily paused new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations ahead of its reopening to focus on guests whose vacations had been postponed due to the theme parks’ extended closure, and it seems like Disneyland is following suit. Disney California Adventure Main Entrance Also like Disney World, capacity at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will be limited upon reopening, and a new theme park reservation system will require all guests to reserve park entry in advance…including Annual Passholders (again, like we’ve seen in Disney World). As of today, Disneyland has proposed a plan for reopening! Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle Several days ago, we reported that signs indicated that Disneyland might reopen in July. And our suspicions were confirmed today when Disneyland proposed a reopening date of July 17th for both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure! As with the reopening plan for Disney World, there will be a number of new health and safety measures implemented when the parks begin to welcome back guests. ©Disney As part of the new health and safety measures, experiences that draw large group gatherings like parades and nighttime spectaculars will be temporarily suspended. These performances will return at a later date, although an exact timeline has not been determined. This mirrors what we’ve seen announced for Disney World. Coco Float in Magic Happens Parade in Disneyland Character meet-and-greets will also be temporarily unavailable, although according to Disney, the characters will be in the parks, “in new ways to entertain and delight guests.” Mickey Mouse The Disneyland reopening plan needs to be approved by the state and local governments before it is finalized, so we’ll continue to keep an eye out for any updates! Disney just announced a proposed reopening plan for a phased return to business. Downtown Disney District is set to open July 9th, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park are set to open July 17th, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel are set to open July 23rd; but there is no mention of Disneyland Hotel. ©Disney It appears that Disneyland Hotel is not announced as opening in the initial phase.
