  3. Disney World is reopening THIS WEEKEND — but that doesn’t mean that everyone will get their chance to head back to the parks. Walt Disney World Resort entrance First of all, Disney hasn’t reopened ticket sales for 2020 dates yet, so only those currently holding valid tickets or annual passes, PLUS a Disney Park Pass reservation, are eligible to visit the parks at this time. Beyond that, there are a number of restrictions on travel for international AND domestic visitors. We’re taking a look at all of the states that have a travel advisory into or out of Florida to help you understand how that could impact your ability to visit Disney World! Quite a few states have some sort of travel advisory — typically a recommended or mandated 14-day quarantine — for those traveling from certain states. In most cases, this would mean that upon returning home from Disney World, a traveler would be required to spend two weeks in quarantine. This means no leaving your house or accommodations and limiting interaction with others as much as possible. Quarantine could mean an interruption to work schedules, social schedules, and more, and could potentially make a trip to Disney World a much more significant time investment than it would be in normal times. Orlando International Airport According to USA Today, the following states have a travel advisory for those going into or out of Florida. Alaska Alaska does not have any Florida-specific mandates, but travelers into the state (citizens and visitors) must test negative for COVID-19 prior to arrival or receive a test upon arrival and quarantine until the results are back. Without a test, those flying into Alaska must quarantine for 14 days. Connecticut Connecticut currently requires a mandatory 14-day quarantine for any visitor or resident arriving from an area with a transmission rate of 10 positive tests for every 100,000 residents on a seven-day rolling average. Currently, Florida qualifies as one of those regions. Florida Sunset On the other hand, travelers from Connecticut TO Florida are also subjected to a mandatory 14-day quarantine as part of Florida’s New York Tri-state Area advisories. This order exempts any travel for commercial or academic purposes (most travelers to Disney World would be affected). According to the Florida Health Department, travelers under this order are responsible for all costs associated with their isolation or quarantine. Hawaii Hawaii doesn’t specifically have a quarantine mandate for travel to and from Florida. Instead, all arriving passengers (visitors and citizens) must quarantine for 14-days upon arrival in the state. Starting August 1st, travelers who test negative within 72 hours before their flight to Hawaii are exempt from quarantine. Florida Palm Trees Breaking quarantine is punishable by a $5,000 fine and/or up-to a year of imprisonment. Illinois Illinois as a whole does not currently have any travel mandates, but the city of Chicago DOES. Travelers entering Chicago from Florida must quarantine for 14 days or be subject to fines. Kansas Travel from Kansas to Florida is not restricted, but the reverse has some advisories. Anyone who has been in Florida any day on or after June 29th must quarantine for 14-days upon arrival in Kansas. Those hoping to head to Disney World from Kansas won’t have trouble getting there but will have some extra time on their hands when they return home. Maine Like Alaska, Maine has a quarantine order with an option to accommodate testing. Those entering Maine from another state, including Florida, must either test negative or receive a test upon arrival and quarantine until they receive results. Without a test, quarantine is mandated for 14 days. Maryland Maryland does not have any required measures but does have a strong suggestion. In general, Maryland residents are encouraged NOT to travel out of the state unless it is absolutely necessary. Welcome to Orlando! Those who DO travel out of the state are recommended to self-quarantine for 14-days upon their return — but it’s not mandated. Massachusetts All travelers entering from another state must self-quarantine for 14-days upon arrival at this time, with some exceptions for essential workers. New Hampshire Just like Massachusetts, all travelers entering New Hampshire from another state must self-quarantine for 14-days upon arrival at this time, with some exceptions. New Jersey New Jersey is another state included in the New York Tri-state Area advisories. Travelers coming from Florida (and other high-transmission states) must quarantine for 14-days upon arrival in New Jersey. Florida The state is also affected by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ mandatory quarantine for those arriving from the tri-state area. To travel to Disney World from one of the three states in the tri-state area, you would need to bookend your trip with 14-days of quarantine at the start AND the finish. New Mexico Travelers entering New Mexico from out of state are required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. New York Like New Jersey, travel both ways between New York and Florida is currently under advisory with 14-day mandatory quarantines in place each way by the respective governors. Pennsylvania Though Pennsylvania does not have any mandatory quarantine in place, there is a recommended 14-day quarantine upon arrival from Florida. Check health and safety information prior to your visit Rhode Island Like much of the New England area, Rhode Island has some mandates too. Travelers entering the state from any high-risk state, including Florida, must produce proof of a negative test within 72 hours of arrival or quarantine for 14 days. Vermont Travelers entering Vermont from another state must self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. Wisconsin Wisconsin has deferred some health decisions to community leaders. For certain counties, residents who have traveled outside their local community in the past 14 days may have to self-quarantine for two weeks upon their return. Florida-themed Orange Bird Mural And there you have it! Those are all the states with specific travel advisories impacting Florida travel at the time of writing. Remember, in many states (including some not on this list) out-of-state travel is currently discouraged and considered a risky activity at this stage in the current health crisis. This information is also constantly changing so check in with your local government and health department to make sure you have the most up-to-date information for YOUR area before you travel! 5. Sharpen your colored pencils and clean your paintbrushes! The Ink & Paint collection has added a new masterpiece to their gallery of merchandise. Ink and Paint Paint Box Ink & Paint merchandise has exploded all over Disney World and Disneyland in the past year. The line ranges from fancy Dooney & Bourke handbags to fun color-changing mugs. Now, the collection is bringing us a NEW tumbler design that compliments the whole collection nicely. The new tumbler costs $19.99 and matches the bags, t-shirts, and mugs from the collection. The design starts at the top with fully-colored drawings and fades into black and white sketches towards the bottom. Ink and Paint Tumbler from World of Disney Looking closer you can see the characters include famous figures like Peter Pan and Pinocchio. Close Up of Ink and Paint Tumbler It also features lesser-known characters like The Three Caballeros and the penguins from Mary Poppins! Close Up of Ink and Paint Tumbler Disney already produced an Ink & Paint tumbler months ago and looked quite different from the new cup. The paint came oozing down the side of the tumbler and covered the images. Older Version of the Ink and Paint Tumbler The new tumblers are actually a little taller than the old design! It’s the perfect size for your extra-large iced coffee that you’ll sip on while you work on your next masterpiece. You can find it at World of Disney in Disney Springs. 6. With face coverings now mandated in many parts of the country, including Orange County, Florida, and Anaheim, California, and a requirement for guests visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland, it’s more important than ever that people have an appropriate face covering on hand. Cast Members In our books, everything’s better when it gets the Disney treatment, and that goes for face masks too! When shopDisney released its adorable line of character-adorned cloth face masks, people flocked to preorder them. But, when they began to arrive in homes, many people ran into one SMALL (literally) problem: Folks are finding that Disney face masks run on the small side. Masks had previously only been available in sizes small, medium, and large, so many folks were out of luck if they wanted to rock a mask featuring Disney characters like Baby Yoda, Forky, and Winnie the Pooh. Luckily, today we noticed that shopDisney is now selling masks in size EXTRA LARGE! Rainbow Mickey Face Mask The extra-large masks come in packs of four for $19.99 and are available in six different themes: Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses and Frozen, and Disney Character faces. Here’s what to do if your shopDisney mask arrives and it’s too small! Disney Cloth Masks ©Disney If you were hoping to pick up a set of these masks before you head to parks for Walt Disney World’s reopening this week, there’s just one catch: Extra-large masks are only available for pre-order right now and are expected to ship on Aug. 26th. Read more here about everything you need to know about wearing a face mask in Disney World. Disney World is selling the same shopDisney face masks at the resorts and Disney Springs, and we hope to see them sold in the parks when they begin opening July 11th. We haven’t spotted any masks in size extra large anywhere in Disney World yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we do! Face Masks As a reminder, all Cast Members and guests ages 2 and up will be required to wear a face covering at all times while in public in Disney World with the exception of when swimming, eating, or drinking. It’s also important to note that there are quite a few types of face coverings that ARE NOT acceptable at Disney World, so you’ll want to make sure the face covering you choose will be allowed. Obviously, the masks sold by Disney are considered acceptable, so you’re good to go with any of those! Check out these 7 helpful tips for wearing a face mask at Disney World! And if you’re looking for even more fun Disney mask designs, be sure to check out our NEW Disney Food Blog masks here. Have you tried a shopDisney face mask? Let us know in the comments below! 18. Disney World is seeing a lot of changes in the parks before reopening with the ever-changing protocols and guidelines taking place in Florida. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Different locations in Disney Springs have recently been affected by Florida’s alcohol ban, where restaurants who make 50% of their profits from the sale of alcohol were forced to close. However, the Florida order has been updated with a new amendment that changes the details of the ban. Instead, restaurants who sell both food and alcohol are able to operate with a limited capacity of 50% and distancing measures. Since the Florida order has now updated its guidelines, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has officially reopened in Disney Springs! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Closed The restaurant originally reopened in Disney Springs for a little over 24 hours before it was forced to close again due to the new alcohol ban. Since Jock Lindsey’s is licensed to sell food and alcohol, the restaurant is able to operate under health and safety guidelines for guests and Cast Members. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar While other spots like Dockside Margaritas closed as well from the ban, there haven’t been any new details about what other places would be reopening. However, we will keep you updated with any more news on how the new amendment affects more Disney restaurants! Take a look at our full review of a re-opened Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar! 19. Now that we know Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival will be returning (in a modified and slightly smaller [but LONGER!] form), we’re looking forward to seeing which food booths will be returning! 2019 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Disney has told us a Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will feature 20 signature global marketplaces and will “continue into the fall” making it Epcot’s longest festival of ALL TIME! But with only 20 slots to fill, some of our favorite food booths won’t be coming back this year! This fest will be DIFFERENT — not only will it be longer than a normal Food and Wine Festival, but it will combine elements of both the Flower and Garden Festival AND the Food and Wine Festival. Disney World already announced the names of three outdoor kitchens we can expect to see when 2020’s a Taste of Food and Wine Festival kicks off on July 15th, but we’re putting together our list of food booths we’re hoping to see (AND EAT food from!) this year! Here are our TOP 20 Epcot Food and Wine Festival food booths we’d like to see return! 1. Active Eats Don’t let the name Active Eats fool you — this spot offers up some top-notch goodies for indulgent appetites. Its Loaded Macaroni & Cheese with Nueske’s® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar, and Leeks is SUPER delicious! It was SO good, we had to stop by and get it a few times last year! Loaded Mac and Cheese The Spice-crusted Verlasso® Salmon at this food booth was good last year, too! We think any food booth with Mac and Cheese on its menu should be given a free pass into a Taste of Food and Wine — wouldn’t that be nice? Fingers crossed! Click here to see our BEST of the FEST list of foods and drinks from last year’s Food and Wine Festival at Epcot 2. Africa This Food and Wine booth really brings it in the flavor department. The Kenyan Coffee Barbecue Beef Tenderloin served with Sweet Potato and Corn Mealie Pap and Kachumbari Slaw debuted last year and, while its meat is tender and juicy, that rich coffee rub really elevates the dish! Kenyan Coffee Barbecue Beef Tenderloin We also really love the Piri Piri Skewered Shrimp with its Citrus-scented Couscous. We have high hopes of enjoying these two festival offerings again this year! 3. The Alps The Alps was a new booth addition last year and it’s where we spotted this Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and a Baguette! That uber-trendy freshly-melted, bubbly cheese that’s scraped right on top your food is JUST AS GOOD as it sounds. Be still, my cheesy HEART! Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese Plus all those little covered and smothered goodies are like little flavor bombs! We’ll be keeping an eye out for The Alps’ cheesy RETURN with our cheese-eating tastebuds pumped and primed! 4. Belgium Belgium is known for its savory AND sweet offerings! While its Beer-braised Beef served with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes is a real show stopper, we love loading up on their Belgian Waffles! Belgian Waffle with Warm Chocolate Ganache and Whipped Cream You can get them topped with a Berry Compote or a super nummy Warm Chocolate Ganache sauce! Either way, you’ll be enjoying a dollop of whipped cream and SO much yumminess! Just be sure to dig in FAST before those waffles get soggy! 5. Brazil Brazil really brings its A-game to the Food and Wine Festival each year! EVERYTHING here seems to be a fan favorite! We were equally impressed by their Crispy Pork Belly and Moqueca (Brazilian Seafood Stew), which featured Scallops, Shrimp, and White Fish with Coconut-lime Sauce and Steamed Rice! Moqueca Brazilian Seafood Stew Its Pão de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) is also great for pairing with that Frozen Caipirinha! Did you even really Food and Wine if you didn’t eat this cheese bread? No. No you did not. 6. Brewer’s Collection We gotta talk about one of our favorite festival watering holes, Brewer’s Collection! Brewer’s Collection Beer Flight While it may be called Food and WINE, beer has a STRONG presence at the fest each year. It wouldn’t feel like Food and Wine without some hops and suds in the form of the tasty beer flights this spot offers up each year. 7. Canada Canada’s food booth is home to not one, but TWO of our favorite foods! You can find the Canadian Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Soup served with a Pretzel Roll at this delightful spot! Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup with Pretzel Roll And you can also savor the flavor of Le Cellier Steakhouse’s Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle-Butter Sauce! Both of these offerings are super RICH and oh so GOOD! Both of these items are practically required if Epcot has a Food and Wine Festival (they’re SO popular!) so we’re hoping to see this booth make an appearance! 8. China China is one of those rare food booths where we almost prefer its drinks over the FOOD! It’s not that their Wuxi Spareribs or Mala Chicken and Shrimp Bao Bun weren’t great last year — it’s just their cocktails are THAT good! China Booth Eats The Kung Fu Punch made with Vodka, Triple Sec, Mango Syrup, and Orange Juice is normally our go-to, but we wouldn’t discourage you from trying any of their BOOZY offerings (TBH their non-alcoholic drinks are just as good!). Just be ready to do some serious snackage before, during, and after since they tend to have a heavy pour! 9. Coastal Eats We’re still having reoccurring dreams of the Baked Shrimp and Scallop Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette at Coastal Eats. We’ve been dreaming of it ALL YEAR! Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with Sourdough Baguette Yup — it would be pretty hard for us to imagine a Food and Wine Festival without this cheesy dip. We lie awake at night thinking about this cheesy, shrimpy goodness so this food booth will be one of the first ones we’ll be seeking out come July 15th! 10. Flavors From Fire Another food booth we can’t wait to see again is Flavors From Fire! Its Smoked Corned Beef with Crispy Potatoes, Cheese Curds, Pickled Onions, and Beer-Cheese Fondue is always a touchdown with US! Those “Crispy Potatoes” are really thick cut fresh-made potato chips drenched in beer-cheese and meat so, obviously, it was awesome. Smoked Corned Beef We also had to get seconds (and thirds, and fourths…) of their Charred Chimichurri Skirt Steak on a Smoked Corn Cake with Pickled Vegetable Slaw and Cilantro Aïoli! This food booth is a fan-favorite and the line is usually quite long, so we’re hoping it makes the cut! Click here to see which Food and Wine Festival items were totally worth the MESS last year! 11. France France’s cuisine is a bit more oo-la-la than you’ll find anywhere else! The Fondue Savoyarde (Fondue of Imported Cheeses and Chardonnay served with Croutons) left a strong and sophisticated impression on us last year! Fondue Savoyarde Also, the La Passion Martini Slushy made with Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron, Cranberry, and Passion Fruit Juice is a beautiful BOOZY tribute the City of Light! We have been big fans of all the seasonal slushies we’ve seen at Epcot’s fests and this was no exception! Plus, you can wave “Bonjour!” to the new Remy Flower and Garden topiary, which Disney shared will still be on display in celebration of the coming-soon attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! Click here to see everything you need to know about Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure 12. Hawai’i Disney has already told us Hawai’i is one of the confirmed booths that will be returning to Food and Wine this year, and we just so happen to know WHY! Hawai’i From its Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet-and-Sour DOLE® Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise to Grilled Tuna Tataki with Seaweed Salad, Pickled Cucumbers, and Wasabi Cream we found all of Hawai’i’s food to be tropically delightful. We also really enjoyed the Teriyaki-glazed SPAM® Hash with Potatoes, Peppers, Onions, and Spicy Mayonnaise (seriously, SPAM can be delicious, guys!). Their Passion Fruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts for dessert was the perfect sweet finish to our food booth luau! 13. Hops and Barley When we found out Hops and Barley would be returning, our hearts skipped a beat! New England Lobster Rolls and New Brunswick Sliders are kinda our love language! New Brunswick Slider But Hops and Barley also has an amazing freshly-baked Carrot Cake that’s practically swimming in warm cream cheese frosting! And, of course, they have a huge selection of BEERS! We have such a hard time deciding which ones to try that we usually end up going with a Beer Flight so we can try a bunch at once. 14. India We know we’ve been skewing a little more meat and cheese OBSESSED with several of our food booth picks on this list, but we dig some vegetarian stuff too! The Madras Red Curry with Roasted Cauliflower, Baby Carrots, Chickpeas, and Basmati Rice at India’s booth last year was wonderful and fresh! Plus you got a huge portion of it, too! Madras Red Curry And for non-alcoholic offerings, the Mango Lassi is super light and tasty. This food booth is a great little spot to enjoy the spice of life, so we’ll be happy to see it return even though its menu isn’t very meaty OR cheesy! 15. Ireland Heading back to our comfort zone (meaning liquid cheese!), this food booth has Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread! Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip with Irish Brown Bread at Ireland But one of the most incredible festival items you can get is Ireland’s Guinness Baileys Shake! It’s like a glass of Guinness had a delicious milkshake baby with notes of cream, cocoa, and Irish whiskey! We’re not sure if it’s really a drink per se, since we happen to think of it as more of a BOOZY dessert, but you DO get to keep the glass it’s served in! 16. Italy If you attended last year’s Food and Wine Festival you probably still fantasize over Italy’s Costine di Maiale (Balsamic-glazed and Oven-roasted Pork Ribs!) Costine di Maiale, aka Pork Ribs These fellas were ENORMOUS and easily sharable (although we might have made our companions get their own — they were too delicious to share!) Of course, we had to pair them with the Italian Margarita made with Limoncello and Tequila, which made for one Bella Notte! Italy always boasts a variety of approachable Italian classics we’re happy to look forward to this year! 17. Japan Last year, Japan debuted a new Frothy Ramen! It was made with Chilled Noodles, Dashi Broth, and came with a Light Foam Topping. This was NOT everybody’s favorite item, but it was certainly a hit with a few people on our team! We’d love to see it return and have another chance to get some fans! Let’s Get Frothy! Others who weren’t a fan of the FROTH were more into the steamed Teriyaki Chicken Bun filled with Chicken, Vegetables, and a Sweet Teriyaki Sauce! You can usually expect a killer sushi option from this food booth too! Plus, the chance to get YOUR name written in Japanese on a wooden sake cup is such a fun and unique keepsake (plus you get some sake to sip as well!). 18. Mexico Nothing says “food fiesta” quite like Mexico’s food booth! The Taco de Puerco (Shredded Pork Belly), which was served on a Corn Tortilla with Salsa Verde, was an awesome snack! We had to save room for a few of these bad boys. Taco de Puerco And the Tostada de Carne (Braised Beef) paired with a Corn Tostada with Mole Oaxaqueño and Chicharrón Dust was equally irresistible. Not to mention, the Mexico booth is usually reliable for a few unique margarita options we look forward to each year. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be making frequent trips to this food booth — if it returns! 19. Refreshment Port Although it’s not technically a food booth, Refreshment Port is one of our favorite spots to go looking for some festival eats! They’ve been known to stock up on poutine (french fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Basically heaven on a plate.) and last year their menu included a Duck Confit Poutine with Fig Demi Sauce and Brie Cheese Fondue, as well as a version topped with Beef Brisket! Duck Confit Poutine We also snagged their Barbecue Bloody Mary with Smoked Garlic Sausage and a House-made Pickle Skewer served with a Mustard and Barbecue Rub Rim in the past. Of course, if you’re looking for a sweet tropical treat, Refreshment Port usually serves a Pineapple Dole Whip spiked with Rum (in case you needed a reminder you’re at Disney World!). 20. Funnel Cake Stand Another spot we always have to stop at is in the American Adventure pavilion. That’s where we enjoyed this patriotically-delicious Mini Funnel Cake topped with Vanilla Ice Cream and Mixed-berry Sangria Compote! Mini Funnel Cake This spot has BROUGHT IT recently. After this year’s Lemon Blueberry Funnel Cake at the Flower and Garden Festival, we have high hopes for some STELLAR funnel cakes in the future. Click here to see the gorgeous Lemon Blueberry Funnel Cake! And as you can see, Islands of the Caribbean didn’t make our top 20 list, although Disney has already confirmed it’s one of the 20 food booths that will be returning! That means at least ONE of our picks WON’T be coming back! Alas, we gotta hand it to Islands of the Caribbean for really stepping up their game last year! They began grilling their Jerk-spiced Chicken fresh, on stage, which made it even MORE craveable because we all smelled that wonderful smoky aroma each time we walked by! Jerk-spiced Chicken with Roasted Sweet Plantain Salad and Mango Chutney Yogurt We will NEVER turn down the chance to smell delicious grilled meats as we stroll Epcot. It was pretty incredible. We’re hoping Disney will announce which food booths will be returning as well as release menus ANY DAY NOW since the festival is almost upon us! Stay tuned for all the delicious details which we’ll be sending your way soon! Click here to find out what our one MUST-GET item from each booth was at last year’s Food and Wine Festival! And you probably guessed it — we’re getting ready to hit up the lands of Disney’s Hollywood Studios next! PizzeRizzo You’ll find the “A Galaxy Far, Far Away” Espresso Mousse Dome at PizzeRizzo as well as a Cannoli, although everyone just really stops here for the pizza! Closeup on Vegetable Pizza There’s nothing crazy special about it. It’s just the same puffy, pillowy, doughy pizza you’ll find at most Disney World counter service restaurants, but it’s a quick, cheesy, saucy, carby fill-up to fuel the rest of your fun! 3rd Place: Toy Story Land Woody’s Lunch Box And just like that, we’re already to our second runner-up! Now, Toy Story Land only has one dining location to giddy up to right now, but soon a joint called Roundup Rodeo BBQ will be opening! Luckily, Woody’s Lunch Box has plenty of snacks to tide us over until that day comes. One of them is the sacred Lunch Box Tart! Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart It’s hard to express our love for this pastry square, but these things are truly one of the reasons we come to Hollywood Studios in the first place. Currently, Woody’s is serving a Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart (with Maple Fondant and Candied Bacon!). They also normally serve a seasonal tart like this spring-time Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart! Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart Is it basically just a fancied-up Pop-Tart like you’d find at your grocery store? Yup, and there’s not a thing wrong with that! Read our review of the Lemon-Blueberry Lunch Box Tart here! And if that’s not enough excitement for you, lasso up some “Totchos!” These are baked “Potato Barrels” (a.k.a. Tater Tots!) coated with Beef and Bean Chili, Shredded Cheese, Queso, Tomatoes, and Corn Chips, finished with Sour Cream, and a sprinkle of Green Onions! Okay, we just made ourselves VERRRY hungry! Totchos While we go rustle up some “Potato Barrels” from our freezers, don’t forget you can also enjoy eating a Mini Babybel Cheese while sitting on a GIANT Babybel Cheese! Yup — some of Woody’s Lunch Box’s more eclectic seating options are actually made to resemble the iconic cheese snack! Be wary though — snagging seating here is practically impossible, in our experience. But it’s fun if you DO get a seat! 2nd Place: Echo Lake Backlot Express There’s pretty much one reason and one reason only why Echo Lake made it to the first runner up spot and that’s because of THIS treat — the Wookiee Cookie! Wookiee Cookie at Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios dropped this little number on us last year and our lives have never been the same! It’s a big, moist sandwich made from two oatmeal cookies smushed together with a fluffy, marshmallow cream frosting. And we can’t forget his little milk chocolate bandolier either! That’s how you know it’s Chewie-approved! It like a giant, awesome version of those OCPs you might have had in your lunchbox as a kid! Read our FULL REVIEW of the Wookiee Cookie HERE! But there are other tasty snacks at Backlot Express like the Mickey Celebration Cake! This treat appeared in celebration of Hollywood Studios’ 30th anniversary! Mickey Mouse Celebration Cupcake We see fun seasonal and specialty treats rotate through this location every so often, so it’s a good spot to keep an eye on. Find out about the other 30th Anniversary Treats at Hollywood Studios here! Other sweet surprises include the BB-8 and Jango Fett Souvenir Steins as well as the chance to upgrade your French Fries with Cheese Sauce for only a buck! Cheese Sign Hey, give us a break! We love cups of Cheese Sauce! It’s just WHO WE ARE! We’ve come to realize this about ourselves and we feel no shame in our cheese-lovin’ game! Click here to experience the beauty of $1 cups o’ cheese! Dockside Diner Just a short stroll away, things get even CHEESIER with Echo Lake’s loch ness Loaded Chili-Cheese Nachos! Just look at all that warm, melty cheese! Loaded Chili Cheese Nachos But the S’mores Brownie is a chocolate lover’s dream! All that’s missing is the campfire! S’mores Brownie And we can’t forget the Chocolate Gems Brownie that just recently sailed into Dockside! Chocolate Gems Brownie We think it’s called “Gems” because the top is literally encrusted with M&M Candies! Of course, if you want to go waaay over the top with your toppings, you gotta check out this next place! See what we thought of the Chocolate Gems Brownie here! Epic Eats Formerly known as Oasis Canteen, we like to think Epic Eats gets its name from the totally extreme Funnel Cakes it serves! Epic Eats Funnel Cake While they also serve root beer floats and soft serve here, the star is those killer funnel cakes! We’re talking awesomeness like a giant fresh-fried funnel cake doused in strawberries or Oreo crumbles THEN topped with a massive swirl of soft serve AND powdered sugar. Epic, indeed. But even though these fried doughy delights look absolutely humongous (and insane!), you can actually use a snack credit on them if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan! In fact, you can check out which other high-dollar snacks at Disney World are a great value for your Disney Dining Plan snack credits here! You only get two a day no matter which dining package you’re on, so you gotta make ’em count! Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction And last but not least before we get to our big winner, we gotta mention this sweet dino-shaped ice cream stand! We love us some Gertie! Gertie’s Ice Cream There are just some standard Ice Cream offerings here, but the building is unimaginably cute! Plus Gertie usually dons a Santa hat during the holidays so we’re all about this little Echo Lake spot! Gertie’s, Open for Business! Most people don’t know that this dino actually represents a huge part of animation history — the 1914 cartoon she comes from paved the way for more modern animators, like Walt Disney, so she’s quite the special dino, indeed! 1st Place: Hollywood Boulevard Brown Derby Lounge Well, friends — we finally made it to our number one land! And guess what — we’re on Hollywood Boulevard, back where we began! We know a lot has changed here at Hollywood Studios, but a lot has stayed the same, too! Like Brown Derby’s Famous Cobb Salad! This salad has truly stood the test of time! Cobb Salad Now normally you would need a dining reservation to eat at the connecting table-service Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant, but you DON’T need one to dine in the lounge! This is where you’ll find smaller portions of some of the same foods they serve on the menu inside the restaurant. We’ve been known to slide into the lounge for a Shrimp Cocktail, Cheese Board, or their tasty Filet Mignon Sliders as well! Derby Sliders You can also get their signature dessert, Grapefruit Cake, at the lounge! Or try one of their other offerings such as their Chocolate-Coconut Cake or Chocolate Mousse Cake! Grapefruit Cake Any way you slice it, the Brown Derby Lounge is one of our favorite stops to have a swig (yes, their signature cocktails are quite tasty too, but we digress!) and somewhat swankier snack! Trolley Car Cafe And now for the BIG FINALE! We can’t think of a more iconic treat than the Carrot Cake Cookie, which you’ll now find at Hollywood Studios’ Starbucks location (which is called the Trolley Car Cafe!). Carrot Cake Cookie The CCC (as we lovingly refer to it) hasn’t always stayed the same. Shortly after leaving Writer’s Stop (which was replaced by BaseLine Tap House) the cookies started looking kinda deflated. In fact, our perfect treat would be to somehow combine the Backlot Express’ Wookiee Cookie with the CCC and create some kind of magical cookie hybrid. Dare to dream PEOPLE…dare…to…DREAM! Wookie Cookie and Carrot Cake Cookie at Hollywood Studios Even still, this epic cookie holds a place in our hearts. It’s soft, loaded with cream cheese frosting, and SO GOOD. Read more about our ultimate Hollywood Studios’ cookie throwdown here! This Starbucks location also has a killer Ham and Cheese Croissant that’s only available until they sell out each day! Ham and Cheese croissant And in addition to all the Starbucks frappucinos, cold brews, and other specialty coffee and tea drinks you can’t function without, you’ll occasionally run into the Butterfinger Cupcake! This big fella is like a candy bar and a cupcake had a delicious baby! Butterfinger Cupcake We’ve been singing the praises of this cupcake for YEARS. Much like the Carrot Cake Cookie, we’ve seen it evolve a bit over the years but we still adore it just the same. Note that now they call it the crunchy toffee peanut butter something or other…but it’ll always be the Butterfinger Cupcake to us! Read our review of the Butterfinger Cupcake here! And when Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway debuted, we were introduced to Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie! What a sweet way to celebrate! Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie Seriously, this little pie is so much more than it appears. In a world of over the top cupcakes and verrines, this sweet and simple treat shocked us with how good it was. Plus, it’s just about the cutest itty bitty pie we’ve ever seen! Read our review of Mickey and Minnie’s Blueberry Pie HERE! Wow! We DID IT! We finally ranked the lands by their snacks at Hollywood Studios — a nearly impossible endeavor! Now we’re thinking about other feats of greatness — like EATING all of these treats in ONE day! On second thought, maybe we’ll leave that challenge up to you and your stretchy pants. Ours are already tight enough as it is! What’s your favorite snack to get at Hollywood Studios? Let us know in the comments below! 24. Walt Disney World is set to reopen in just a few weeks, and that has left us with a LOT of questions. Magic Kingdom One BIG question that’s top of mind for many potential visitors is when Disney World opens, can you even go? This is a BIG question for international travelers. The current status of international flight schedules and availability make it pretty clear that international travel is being discouraged right now. But, is international travel flat-out banned? And what does that mean for Disney fans abroad? We’re taking a look. Yes, some international travel is COMPLETELY banned to and from certain countries. Although international travel isn’t banned outright in the US, there are some countries where it is. According to Kayak, many countries still have borders that are completely closed to incoming air travel, with no announcement of reopening. These include Canada, Greenland, South Africa, and Argentina. Disneyland Main Entrance In most cases, these countries with closed borders do not prohibit travel for their own citizens. For instance, Canadian citizens are able to leave and enter Canada without restrictions. Still, if a Canadian citizen were to leave Canada, they are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine when they return per the Government of Canada’s Emergency Order under the Quarantine Act. For most countries with closed and restricted borders, citizens could get to the US and return home. However, they would need to be able to carve out another two weeks at the end of their Disney trip to be able to quarantine. Many governments are also discouraging non-essential travel in general. Effectively, that makes it pretty difficult for any international guests to get to Disney World from one of these closed countries until the borders open. On the other hand, the US does have mostly open borders right now — but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to get in and out of the country. For one, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a global travel advisory saying “Do Not Travel.” Still, an advisory isn’t a ban. Technically, most countries in the world currently have access to the US, but there are a handful of countries that are currently prohibited from travel to the US including China, Iran, countries from the European Schengen area, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Brazil. According to the CDC, anyone who has been in one of these areas in the last 14 days is not permitted to travel into the country. Orlando International Airport So, a lot of international travel is still impossible or at least extremely difficult based on government restrictions. Click here to learn more about the barriers to international travel. Traveling out of the US isn’t easy either — so you might want to rethink those Disneyland Paris plans. If you were hoping to visit one of the international Disney parks, you should be aware that travel OUT of the US isn’t easy right now either. For instance, entry by foreign nationals into China is prohibited so that means no Shanghai Disneyland. Entrance from the US is restricted in Japan so Tokyo Disneyland is out. Shanghai Disneyland Some international travel to and from Europe resumed July 1st. However, American travelers will not be allowed to travel into Europe during the first round of reopening. The European Union is limiting the first phase of reopening to low-risk countries. Disneyland Paris It’s important to note that even if a country will accept travelers from the US, a 14-day quarantine is recommended by the CDC upon return from any international travel. That’s a lot of vacation time to take if you have to account for two weeks of quarantine PLUS your vacation. Click here to learn about some of Disney’s international travel suspensions. International flights ARE coming back, but there still aren’t a ton of options. Let’s say that someone wants to travel to the US from a country that allows the travel both ways. They would still have to find a flight! According to the Wall Street Journal, international flights are down 70%. Star Wars United Airlines Plane ©United Even though international travel is starting to come back, it is nowhere near what it used to be. For the coming months, it may be difficult to find a direct flight to the US or to find any flight at all! Plus, many international arrivals mandate proof of a health test or a 14-day quarantine. Even though the US does not mandate this, we have to think about folks heading home too. Read more about the delay of international flights to Orlando here! International travel isn’t completely out of the question, but it definitely isn’t easy. You can see that international travel isn’t TOTALLY banned or impossible — but it won’t be easy. Governments and their relevant agencies are working hard to address the risks and some of the mitigations they’re taking definitely have an effect on our ability to fly. The largest UK travel agency has even canceled all Disney World vacations through December! Orlando International Airport All in all, it may be a few more months before we start to see international travelers in the Disney parks. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest updates and to learn more about how the global health crisis could affect your Disney trip. 25. This morning’s #DisneyMagicMoments celebrates the quirky world of Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland park. What’s really special about Mickey’s Toontown in the early morning are all the sounds and details you may not notice during the daytime. Check out the video “rewind” below! Did you know? The landscaping of Mickey’s Toontown is bright and colorful, just like the cartoons themselves. The plants and trees throughout the area were all selected to mimic the colors in Technicolor cartoons.
