Traveling by airplane can be stressful. It’s not too hard to get caught up in flight changes and cancellations, gathering everyone and everything traveling with you and trying to make sure you’re as prepared as possible to make getting on the plane as smooth of a transition as can be. While we’re still waiting on developments that would help make security screening easier (and potentially faster), accidents still can happen.

If you’ve ever been traveling by airplane only to get to your seat and realize that you’re missing something you may have thought “Well, that’s it; I’ll never find it now.” However, we’re here to help you learn who is the BEST source to reach out to when these things happen and how to go about reclaiming your lost items.

It’s not the most ideal situation but it happens more often than you think. Traveling with “all the things” at the airport is bound to reach a point where you could easily leave an item or two behind and not realize it until it’s too late.

Checking In!

So what do you do when you realize you’ve lost something while flying or going through the airport? Who do you reach out to? The answer is really pretty simple.

Orlando International Airport

TSA has set its own Lost and Found protocol. On their website, they’ve listed contacts for items left at TSA security checkpoints. Once you’re there to search, simply type in the airport code to bring up the correct contacts. This department is also able to assist in locating items missing from checked baggage.

This site also has a full FAQ about lost items, how they’re handled, and how arrangements are made to reunite you with your belongings.

Orlando International Airport can get very busy

If you’ve realized that you’ve lost items in other areas of the airport (or have checked with TSA and been unable to locate your item further), they ask that you check the airport’s website for contact information for help in locating your items beyond their reach.
