A lot is happening in Disney World.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

We’re anxiously awaiting the arrival of not one, but TWO, new restaurants at Disney Springs. The EPCOT transformation is scheduled to be over soon. A NEW ride is being constructed in Magic Kingdom. PLUS Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting a brand new structure for new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas. So let’s take a look at what those villas look like now.

Now, the main construction of the DVC building doesn’t look a lot different from the last time we checked in. We can say, though, we’re still surprised at how this building continues to expand — it’s way bigger than we initially imagined.

It just keeps expanding

These rooms are also super close to Seven Seas Lagoon, so we’re assuming they’re going to have some AMAZING views, including views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Views are going to be great

We did notice that most of the rooms are now completely enclosed and now have sliding glass doors that have been installed.

We also noticed that work seems to be starting on enclosing rooms on the first level of the building.

Overall, the building is really starting to take shape and look like something now. We remember when this was just a site filled with dirt.

The structure has a total of 10 floors that we can see so far.

DVC building

Disney has not yet started putting some of the cosmetic touches on the building, but we expect we might start seeing that soon. As a refresher, here’s what it’s supposed to look like when it’s complete. It’s inspired by what early concepts of the Polynesian Village Resort looked like.

The new villas won’t just have new rooms, though: it will also feature new recreation and dining options (okay, we’re SO curious about the dining).

We’ll be keeping an eye on the site and keep you updated on how it’s going. The new DVC villas are expected to open some time in 2024.
