Disney4me
Bet you didn’t know we were besties with McDonald’s?! Drum roll, please… Okay, maybe besties is a BIT of stretch. But they slide into our texts from time to time (technically because we signed up to receive alerts, but who’s really paying attention to that?). Each time we get messages from the person who runs the McDonald’s account, we find ourselves scratching our heads because of their cryptic hints. So today we’re breaking down all the past surprises they’ve shared! Big Mac Sauce When this whole “texting McDonald’s” business started up, we signed up to receive messages because the company promised to share a secret announcement. What was that announcement? McDonald’s shared that they’d be introducing Big Mac Sauce as a dippable sauce option! Big Mac Meal The bizarre text updates were a fun way to promote the “saucy surprise” — but they didn’t stop there! Grimace Shenanigans The next time we got a text from McDonald’s was actually from their mischievous mascot Grimace! He took over their account to celebrate his birthday and the infamous Grimace Shake. Grimace’s Birthday Shake Loki Takeover If there was ever one text that had us ready to pack our bags and jet set, it was the Loki takeover of McDonald’s! ©McDonald’s In partnership to promote the upcoming season 2 of Loki on Disney+, the MARVEL God of Mischief was at it again, and this time he was turning back time. One McDonald’s in Brooklyn rethemed their entire restaurant just as it was in the 1980s during the events of the season that would be featured on the show and allowed us to momentarily time travel (or at least feel like we did for a bit). 80s Menu! ©McDonald’s However, this retheme was very short-lived, but if you were among the lucky ones that made the trek, we bet it was a sight to behold. McCrocs One of the wildest crossovers we could imagine FINALLY happened when McCrocs were cleverly teased. ©Crocs These McDonald’s inspired Crocs debuted with quite the chatter about their nostalgic designs from Birdie, to Hamburglar, to Grimace, and even Ronald McDonald himself. We weren’t quite sure how we felt about them at first either! ©Crocs But, it seems McCrocs may have either been a stroke of genius or madness (we’ll let you be the judge of that). McNugget Buddies This might have been the announcement that sent our nostalgic hearts soaring… the return of McNugget Buddies! ©McDonald’s The newest announced lineup of McNugget Buddies took us by whirlwind when they were finally released after a day’s tease, mostly because it’s been over 25 years since we’ve seen these little guys pop up in our McDonald’s Happy Meals toys. Each of these adult-sized happy meals will contain one of 6 designs by Kerwin Frost (and feature a buddy inspired by him!) There’s just no telling what McDonald’s will think of next to slide in our DMs and keep us coming back for more. Be sure to stay tuned with us as we discover more DMs from McDonald’s and what they’ll think up next!
