REVIEW: Disney Keeps Using Edible Paper in Its Snacks and We NEED To Know Why

It’s officially December and we’re celebrating with all kinds of new treats around Disney World. From Hot Cocoa Beignets to Present Peppermint Brownie Pops, there are so many ways to satisfy your sweet tooth this month. Come with us to Pineapple Lanai to try the new DOLE whip creation at Pineapple Lanai!

The new ‘Olu Mel Holiday Float is a DOLE Whip Lime float with pineapple juice, an ‘Olu Mel white chocolate piece, and strawberry popping candy. It returns annually, and today we picked it up for $6.79.

We thought that the lime and pineapple flavors worked together really nicely. It’s both tart, sweet, and a little tangy. We also thought it was a great value — the portion is huge so you could probably share this!

So cute!

On top, the popping candies were fun and added a great texture. We think kids would really like them, but they are very unique so keep that in mind if you are particular about textures.

These are super fun.

As for the decor — ‘Olu Mel making snow angels and celebrating 2023? Adorable. But unfortunately, our praise ends there — the image was made with edible paper, which Disney has been using a lot lately, and it’s just not our cup of tea. It made the white chocolate square a little chewy and, well, papery — so it was only good for looks.

So cute, but so weird.

Aside from the weird edible paper, we think this is worth checking out — especially if you love sweet and tangy treats. If citrus isn’t your thing, however, you might want to skip this one. We’ll keep bringing you all the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more!
