One popular Disney World show is “Festival of the Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This show recently brought back more of its iconic show elements after operating for quite some time as the more limited “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King,” and now its showtimes are changing.

Beginning on August 14th, Festival of the Lion King will be reducing its number of showtimes every day except for Saturday. Ordinarily, the show is performed eight times per day at 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM, and 5PM. It’s performed every hour on the hour beginning at 10AM. Here, you can see the schedule for Friday, August 5th.

However, starting August 14th, the 1PM showtime is being removed Sunday-Friday, so there will only be seven shows on those days. Below you can see the scheduled showtimes on Sunday, August 14th.

The 1PM showtime does appear to return on Saturdays to give guests eight opportunities to see the show throughout the day. Here, you can see that the 1PM show returns on Saturday, August 20th.

It’s not uncommon for Disney World showtimes to change, so make sure to check the times guide (these can be found at the front of the park by the maps) or the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit for the most up-to-date information.

You can also catch KiteTails, Animal Kingdom’s kite show that features characters and music from movies like The Lion King and Jungle Book. The show was recently changed to make it more suitable for walk-by viewing rather than sitting down in the amphitheater to watch it.
