Disney4me
Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration is officially underway! Happy 50th! As part of the 50th Anniversary there are new merchandise items, new nighttime shows, and (of course) TONS of new snacks. We’ve tried a whole bunch of the 50th Anniversary treats and we’ve ranked some of our favorites in the parks. But, we wanted to know what treat YOU, our fantastic DFB readers, think is the best of the best. So, we established a DFB 50th Anniversary snack bracket, and after several days of voting via the DFB Instagram you’ve finally crowned a winner! We started this DFB bracket with more than 30 snacks! Along the way, things like the Showtime With Jose from Aloha Isle Refreshments, the Snow White Cone from Storybook Treats, and Wendell’s Bear Claw from Westward Ho Refreshments were all beat out by other snacks. The fairest cone of them all? And then, there were 2. The final battle came down to the 50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome from Creature Comforts… 50th Celebration Mickey Mouse Dome at Creature Comforts in Disney’s Animal Kingdom …versus the 50th Anniversary Petit Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie. 50th Anniversary Celebration Petit Cake This was a tough battle. But, ultimately only one could be crowned the victor. And the winner of the DFB 50th Anniversary treats bracket challenge is…the 50th Anniversary Petit Cake from Amorette’s Patisserie! The Winner!! This was a fairly close battle with the Celebration Dome getting 42% of the votes, while the 50th Petit Cake got 58% of the votes. Ultimately, we have to say that we agree with the outcome in terms of the battle between these 2 treats. While the Celebration Dome was our favorite out of the 3 we had from Creature Comforts and the birthday cake mousse it featured was really fun, none of the snacks we got from Creature Comforts (including the Celebration Dome) were really rockstars. The Petit Cake, on the other hand, was absolutely INCREDIBLE in terms of looks. Truly, it was probably one of the most beautiful snacks we saw released on the 50th Anniversary. Are we in love? We’re in love. The treat itself is made of layers of vanilla chiffon cake with celebration blue mousse, blueberry jam, and lemon curd, with vanilla rock candy on top. We were seriously blown away by this treat’s wonderful combination of blueberry and lemon, as well as the perfectly textured mousse! Would you look at that amazing cross-section?! But, this snack isn’t cheap! The petit cake will set you back $22, though it is big enough to split. What do you think? Would you have picked the Dome or the Petit Cake? Tell us in the comments! We’ll be keeping an eye out for more 50th Anniversary snacks and news, so be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates. And check back on our Instagram for more polls and brackets.
