Update On Disney Resort Hotel Reopenings

The following Disney Resort hotels are now open and accepting new reservations:

With the opening of these hotels, we have taken a measured and deliberate approach to implement a number of health and safety measures based on guidance from various governmental authorities and health agencies.

Disney Resort Hotels Scheduled to Reopen—and Currently Accepting Reservations
We plan to open the following Disney Resort hotels to booked Guests on the following dates. These Disney Resort hotels are currently accepting reservations.

March 22, 2021 Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
May 30, 2021 Disney’s Beach Club Resort
June 6, 2021 Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Summer 2021 Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

While a reopening date was previously shared for Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, it will remain closed until further notice, as the reopening timeline continues to be reevaluated.

Future reopening dates are subject to change and Guests’ reservations could still be modified to other Disney Resort hotels if needed.

Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so.

We will continue to monitor the constantly changing environment and its impact on the state of Florida as we find the right time to welcome back even more of our Guests and Cast Members.

We continue to assist Guests with current hotel reservations for 2021, modifying travel plans as needed.

Disney’s Beach Resorts Are Open

Additionally, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort are open to Members and Guests. Please note that some of the details below may not apply to Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.

Theme Parks Are Open
All 4 Walt Disney World theme parks are open and welcoming Guests.

Top Things You Need To Know

Top-Things-You-Need-to-Know-1x1.jpg?1611

We made some important updates at our Disney Resort hotels and implemented a number of new health and well-being measures.

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel must review the health acknowledgment below.

What You’ll Need
Before traveling to Florida, please make sure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to Florida. Visit https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/ for information. Guests who are under isolation or quarantine orders must not enter Walt Disney World Resort.

Please be aware that you'll also need:

  • A confirmed room reservation for your stay. Be sure to link your reservation to your Disney account to receive important information prior to your arrival—visit My Plans to get started
  • A confirmed dining reservation if you’re a day Guest (not staying overnight)
  • Face coverings for each Guest age 2 and up—which must be worn in all public areas, except while swimming or seated for dining
  • A MagicBand, Key to the World card or the My Disney Experience app—which you can use to unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and access more magic during your stay. View important updates about MagicBands for arrivals beginning January 1, 2021
  • Planning to visit a theme park during your stay? To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required (a Disney Resort hotel reservation does not guarantee theme park access)

Also, it’s highly recommended that you:

  • Have the latest version of the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device, with location services and notifications enabled
  • Use Online Check-In service and Direct-to-Room service, which allows you to get to the fun faster with real-time, room-ready updates—and even lets you use the My Disney Experience app as a digital room key at your Disney Resort hotel.
  • Use cashless or contactless forms of payment, including a MagicBand or Key to the World card, which Disney Resort hotel Guests can use to charge purchases to their Disney Resort hotel folio

Warning iconCOVID-19 Warning

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our other Guests and Cast Members. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting Walt Disney World Resort.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and Guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By visiting Walt Disney World Resort you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Help keep each other healthy.

Disney Resort Hotel Guest Benefits

Some benefits may be modified or unavailable at this time.

Disney’s Magical Express® Service
Disney’s Magical Express Service provides transportation for Disney Resort hotel Guests between Orlando International Airport and their Disney Resort hotel via motorcoach. Reservations are required to use this service.

Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be offered starting with arrivals January 1, 2022. The service will continue to operate for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021.

Luggage delivery for those arriving to and departing from the airport and Resort Airline Check-In Service are no longer available. Guests who choose to use Disney’s Magical Express service will be responsible for picking up any of their checked luggage from the airport’s baggage claim area, so that it can be loaded onto the motorcoach to their Disney Resort hotel. Please know that your luggage will travel with you to your Disney Resort hotel.

Luggage assistance will be available at the front of your Disney Resort hotel, including luggage storage and/or transport to the room.

Upon your departure, please ensure your luggage is with you and is loaded onto the motorcoach, so you can check it in with your airline once you reach the airport. The resort airline check-in service is no longer available.

Many airlines have modified their flight schedules, so please confirm your flight information. If you plan to use Disney’s Magical Express service, contact your room reservation booking agent or call the Disney Reservation Center to make any updates to your flight information on file.

FastPass+ Service
As a result of the COVID-19 impact on operations, the FastPass+ service is suspended for the time being. FastPass+ service is not offered with the purchase of tickets or annual passes. We will share future updates at a later date.

Extra Magic Hours
The Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and as we continue to manage attendance with health and safety top of mind, Extra Magic Hours will not return. Learn more about our new early theme park entry benefit coming later this year as part of our 50th anniversary celebration.

Enhanced Cleaning and Housekeeping Modifications

Cleaning-1x1.jpg?1611941149167

When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, enjoy peace of mind knowing that your room will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and serviced during your stay. Plus, common areas will receive increased cleaning.

Common Areas
We’ve increased cleaning in high-traffic areas such as public elevators and escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms and more.

Housekeeping
Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo thorough cleaning—with attention to:

  • High-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles
  • Housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms
  • Floors, which will be steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests

Inside your room, you’ll find:

  • Individually wrapped glassware
  • Additional items that have been cleaned, sealed or wrapped in single-use packaging

And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every other day, which will include:

  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming if needed

You can also decline every-other-day service.

Please note that:

  • If you’re a Disney Vacation Club Member using your Membership to stay, you’ll receive service on the 4th and 8th days, unless you decline that service.
  • If there is more than one room on your reservation and you choose to decline service, your selection will apply to all rooms on the reservation.
  • We reserve the right to enter any room at a Disney Resort hotel for maintenance, safety, security or any other purpose, even if the Room Occupied sign is displayed on the room door. View Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.

  • Transportation is operating with physical distancing measures in place, including in the load zones and queues, as well as aboard buses, monorails and watercraft boats.
  • Face coverings are required at all times while boarding and using Walt Disney World transportation.
  • The Disney Skyliner will load one party per gondola.
  • We have added physical barriers in select places where it is difficult to maintain strict physical distancing guidelines, such as partitions inside our buses and monorails.

Learn about transportation options at each Disney Resort hotel.

Minnie Van Service

Resort Services

Resort-Services-1x1.jpg?1611941149168

Some Disney Resort hotel services are modified or unavailable based on physical distancing and health guidelines.

Changes include:

  • Bell Services will deliver luggage to rooms, but will not escort Guests
  • Club-level service is temporarily unavailable
  • Deliveries may only be made to occupied rooms
  • In-room celebrations are not available
  • In-room dining is not available

In addition, the resort airline check-in service is no longer available.

MagicBands & Key to the World Cards

MagicBands will no longer be provided on a complimentary basis for new reservations with arrivals at Disney Resort hotels January 1, 2021 and beyond.

Here are some helpful tips to consider before your stay in 2021:

  • Want to use a MagicBand? You can purchase a MagicBand online and at select merchandise locations at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will have the option to purchase MagicBands up to 10 days before arrival at special pre-arrival prices. These MagicBands can be personalized with different colors, Disney Characters and themes—and can even be customized with your name.
  • Already have a MagicBand from a previous visit? You can reuse your MagicBand. Depending on how much time has passed since you initially used your MagicBand, your ability to receive Disney PhotoPass attraction videos and select attraction photos may be limited.

If you are using a MagicBand from a previous visit, we recommend you tap it at the photo preview wall touchpoints (available at select attractions after riding) to link your attraction photos to your Disney account. For attractions that do not have a photo preview wall you may also visit the Disney PhotoPass Sales Center located in each park or contact us to report a missing photo so we can find and link your attraction photos.
  • Prefer not to use a MagicBand? At your convenience, swing by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel to pick up a Key to the World card, which can be used in lieu of a MagicBand.
  • Want to skip check-in and go straight to your room? Use convenient Online Check-In service and Direct-to-Room service, which allows you to get to the fun faster with real-time, room-ready updates—and even lets you use the My Disney Experience app as a digital room key at your Disney Resort hotel.

Dining Experiences

Select dining locations are available at Disney Resort hotels.

All Guests may now make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance. Here are some important details to help you plan:

Disney Resort Hotel Dining

As with other locations at Walt Disney World Resort that require temperature screenings before entry, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional rescreening. Those with temperatures 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either.

In-Park Dining
Guests must have valid park admission and a reservation for park entry through the new Disney Park Pass system—as well as a dining reservation—to dine at in-park, table-service restaurants. Dining reservations do not guarantee admission to the park.

Disney Springs Dining
Select dining locations at Disney Springs are currently accepting reservations for all Guests up to 60 days in advance.Check availability and make reservations online now.
