Disney4me
There has been no shortage of news this weekend, thanks to the 2019 D23 Expo. ©Disney We’ve learned about so many things coming to the Disney parks and resorts, like the Mary Poppins attraction and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel coming to Disney World. Now, we’re going to venture away from the theme parks to fill you in on the upcoming additions to the Disney Cruise Line! The Disney Wish The fifth Disney Cruise Line ship will be called the “Disney Wish” and will feature the beloved Rapunzel on its stern. You just might catch Pascal, who lends a helping hand to Rapunzel as she paints. According to Disney, “the ship’s atrium will be a bright, airy and elegant space inspired by the beauty of an enchanted fairytale.” The Disney Wish is projected to set sail in January of 2022 when it will welcome guests to its 1,250 staterooms. It “will be powered by liquefied natural gas.” Disney Wish Concept Art ©Disney Lighthouse Point In addition to learning about the Disney Wish, we also learned about Disney Cruise Line’s second tropical destination in The Bahamas. It “will be located on the breathtaking island of Eleuthera at a place called Lighthouse Point” and “will celebrate both the stories of The Bahamas and the natural environment of Lighthouse Point itself.” ©Disney Joe Rohde, who worked extensively on Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Aulani in Hawaii, is researching several “cultural sites” in The Bahamas “to create a unique destination that is rooted in Bahamian culture and filled with Disney magic.” Lighthouse Point Concept Art ©Disney According to Disney, construction on Lighthouse Point will begin after an Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Management Plan are accepted by the Government of The Bahamas and after consulting with the public. Construction might begin in 2020 and could be completed by “late 2022 or 2023.” Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more details on these exciting new additions to Disney Cruise Line!
