Awesome Planet will be “an on-screen exploration of the realm we call home,” and  “showcases the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of our earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect.”

Awesome Planet will feature “spectacular nature photography, immersive in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise),” to deliver an impactful environmental message.

The new film is part of the transformation of Epcot which also includes updates and additions to other theater experiences around the park. For instance, a new Circle-Vision film was previously announced for the China pavilion, as were updates coming to the O Canada! Circle-Vision film.

And the upcoming “Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along for the France Pavilion will rotate with the long-running “Impressions de France” film. (Did you know that Impressions de France holds the Guinness World Record as the longest-running daily screened film in the world?)
