We have known for some time now that the Polynesian Village Resort’s Tambu Lounge would be closing for a refurbishment. However, the exact date of the closure (originally slated to begin in July) kept changing.

We can now report that the Tambu Lounge is closed (for at least a few months). But there are two temporary locations set up during the refurbishment where you can still order up some Polynesian beverage favorites!

The first temporary location is located by the Monorail doors. This location opens at 9:30am. No specific closing time is set for this location, but on the day of our visit it closed at 5:00 pm.

This is where you’ll find some popular Disney bar drinks like the Pina CoLava, but also the Polynesian’s famous Drink-served-in-a-Pineapple: the Lapu Lapu!

Morning cocktails also include a Wasabi Bloody Mary and a Mimosa Your Way. You’ll also see a small note that an exclusive selection of Kona Beers on Draft is also available.

The second temporary location is located near the ‘Ohana check-in. This location opens at 2:00pm.

A similar selection to the Morning Bar is available, but with a few differences. For instance, instead of the morning cocktails you’ll find the popular Backscratcher and the Captain’s Mai Tai.

And, again the Lapu Lapu is here, too. You can spot the pineapples at the ready on the shelves in the background!

Though a reopening date for the refurbished Tambu Lounge is unknown, original estimates for the length of the closure were around two to three months. Will the single serving of ‘Ohana Bread Pudding come back once the work is complete? And how about those Pork Nachos (I miss you already!)? We look forward to letting you know the details of the renovation as soon as they are revealed!
