Disney4me Posted August 3, 2023 Report Posted August 3, 2023 Planning a trip to Orlando? If your vacation plans involve flying to the city that is home to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Universal Orlando, and many other attractions, then you might be on the hunt for the BEST direct flight to get there. What’s your favorite airline? We’ve seen a number of NEW nonstop flights announced from various cities around the U.S. (and even beyond the U.S.) to Orlando International Airport (“MCO”) but now we’re taking a deep dive into the world of flights to find the best nonstop option from each state to Orlando. Before we begin, let’s go over a few of the rules we set in place. To the maximum extent possible, we looked for nonstop flights from a major airport in each U.S. state to MCO. Note that your city might not be on this list, and while MCO is a popular airport to fly into, you might prefer to fly into another spot, like the smaller Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Also, what we consider to be the “best” might not be what you prefer or what fits your needs. We tried to look for relatively early flights (so you could still enjoy some of your arrival day in Orlando, should you so choose), flights that were pretty decently priced, and flights on popular airlines (like Southwest, which has a big fan following). For Southwest flights, we stuck to Wanna Get Away tickets when possible. But the best airline for you might be one you have travel points with or just another one that you prefer for whatever other reasons. Is it time to book a flight to Disney World? To search for flights, we tried to see what was available for a one-way flight to MCO that departed on September 8th (to the maximum extent possible). Note that the availability of these direct flights and their exact times can vary depending on the date, so that could impact things. Also, keep in mind that we used Google Flights as the primary spot to find the flights. All prices included are for 1 person. Still, we hope this list will be helpful in giving you a greater sense of just how many nonstop flights are available out there from each state! Alabama Airport: Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) Airline: Southwest Flight time: 7:35AM-10:10AM Price: $275.99 Alaska* Airport: Anchorage International Airport (ANC) Airline: Delta Flight time: 12:59AM-4:14PM Price: $619 Note: We could not find any nonstop flights from the Alaska airports to Orlando (at least out of the ones we searched). So we limited our search to flights with 1 stop. Also, the times were either extremely early or resulted in arrival on the next day, from what we found. Arizona Airport: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) Airline: American Airlines Flight time: 9:01AM-4:28PM Price: $210 Arkansas Airport: Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT) Airline: Allegiant Flight time: 10:36AM-1:44PM Price: $56 Note: It appears these nonstop flights are offered on Sundays and Thursdays, but are only into Orlando Sanford International Airport – SFB. Flying California Airport: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Airline: Delta Flight time: 7:15AM-3:14PM Price: $169 Note: there are quite a few options from different airlines here. We opted for a flight that was a bit cheaper and earlier so there would still be a bit of time to enjoy Orlando on arrival day, but there are many possibilities to pick from. Colorado Airport: Denver International Airport (DEN) Airline: Southwest Flight time: 7:45AM-1:20PM Price: $178.98 Connecticut Airport: Bradley International Airport (BDL) Airline: Southwest Flight time: 12:30PM-3:20PM Price: $148.98 Delaware Airport: Wilmington Airport (ILG) Airline: Avelo Flight time: 3:45PM-6:20PM Price: $64 Note: It looks like these flights are offered typically on Mondays, some Wednesdays, and Fridays. Idaho* Airport: Boise Airport (BOI) Airline: American Flight time: 1:33PM-10:18PM Price: $229 Note: We searched several airports in Idaho and could not seem to find a nonstop flight to Orlando, so we limited our search to flights with 1 stop. Also, note that there was an earlier flight on Saturday with an earlier arrival time. Nebraska Airport: Eppley Airfield (OMA) Airline: Southwest Flight time: 4:15PM-8:10PM Price: $197.98 This afternoon flight from Southwest appeared to be the main nonstop flight available from OMA to MCO on most days we looked.
