Now, Canada is joining the list of places that’ll ease up on COVID-19 restrictions for those seeking to travel. According to a press release from the government of Canada, many COVID-19 border and travel measures will be removed, effective October 1st, 2022. Starting October 1st, there will no longer be COVID-19 entry restrictions, and there will not be testing, quarantine, or isolation requirements for those entering Canada. Starting October 1st, all travelers (regardless of citizenship) will NO longer have to do any of the following: submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or website; provide proof of vaccination; undergo pre- or on-arrival testing; carry out COVID-19-related quarantine or isolation; monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 upon arriving to Canada. Airplane Additionally, starting October 1st, Transport Canada is removing travel requirements. Starting October 1st, the following will NO longer be required: undergo health checks for travel on air and rail; or wear masks on planes and trains. While the mask requirement is being removed, they do “strongly recommend” that you wear high-quality and well-fitting masks during your journey. If you’ll be going on a cruise from Canada, rules are changing there too. Cruise travelers will no longer need to do the following: have pre-board tests be vaccinated use ArriveCAN Instead, a set of guidelines will stay in place to protect passengers and crew. Disney Cruise to Canada Those who have COVID-19 symptoms are reminded to not travel. Additionally, the government press release notes, “If travellers become sick while travelling, and are still sick when they arrive in Canada, they should inform a flight attendant, cruise staff, or a border services officer upon arrival. They may then be referred to a quarantine officer who will decide whether the traveller needs further medical assessment.” Remember that any provincial or territorial COVID-19 requirements must be followed, so you’ll want to check with the areas you’ll be traveling to for updates.
