Matterhorn in Disneyland Park New characters have show up in Avengers Campus, we’ve seen a bunch of new snacks, and fireworks and parades have returned. But, while many things are opening back up, some things are closing, including one classic ride that’s about to shut down! The Matterhorn Bobsleds will be closing in Disneyland Park on August 8th. The closure is for a refurbishment, and there is no end date listed. ©Disney The Fantasyland attraction was the first roller coaster-style attraction in Disneyland and opened in 1959. So, you can imagine after being open for all of those years that it needs regular maintenance! Matterhorn While we don’t know when the refurbishment will be over, we do know that it will be closed through at least August 30th, according to Disneyland’s calendar (which is as far ahead as the calendar goes at the moment). Matterhorn Bobsleds We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more news and updates on the attraction! Matterhorn Curious about other construction projects in Disneyland? One of the biggest ones coming up is the transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — a ride themed after The Princess and the Frog. The ride should open in late 2024, but we do not know for sure when the ride will close down to begin its makeover. ©Disney The Haunted Mansion will also be getting a makeover soon, transforming into Haunted Mansion Holiday for the remainder of the year. It will close down on August 15th and reopen on September 2nd with its festive look themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas! Haunted Mansion Holiday is here!!!
