Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom A structural nightmare of a cupcake, a $100 stuffed animal, and a whole lot more are new this week in Animal Kingdom — so let’s take a look! Animal Kingdom Food Updates Flame Tree Barbecue We stopped by an old favorite of ours, Flame Tree Barbecue, to try their new Celebrate Soulfully Cupcake for $5.99. We headed over to Nomad Lounge for a quick lunch and to see if there was anything new on the menu — and we were pleasantly surprised! They’ve added Mandazi to the menu. It’s described as a fried dough tart and is similar to a beignet! Yes please! The Mandazi comes with two different dipping sauces. You can get them for $10! Okay, this next item isn’t exactly new, but it pops up every now and then as a special on the menu and we always love to try it out. This is the Lobster Mac and Cheese! Gooey cheesy goodness You’ll have to ask for this since it’s not listed on the menu, and we paid $24 for a pretty decent portion that could easily be split! Try the refreshing Celebrate Soulfully Mint Julep at Thirsty River Bar! Mint Julep This spin on the classic julep includes pineapple juice and is $15! Animal Kingdom Construction Updates Our pal Aladar has been looking pretty rough these days, and we don’t have much of an update on him this week! His fountain is still drained, and he has yet to be given his glow up. Poor Aladar We’re also still seeing construction walls around Restaurantosaurus, but we’ll keep an eye out for any more updates on that! Animal Kingdom Merchandise Updates Discovery Trading We love how bright and sunny this Be Happy Mickey Print is! It’s $24.99 and comes framed. Be Happy Mickey print Also at Discovery Trading, we spotted this red Minnie Mouse Tunic Dress for $36.99! It features our favorite lady mouse in a fun style and is also available on shopDisney! Throw it over a pair of black leggings and you are ready to go! Star Wars fans will be excited to see this pair of shirts perfect for couples! We first noticed the Princess Leia I Love You Shirt… I love you! …and the Han Solo I Know Shirt. The foil feature on these shirts is so cool! Each shirt is $24.99. I know. In addition to all the great new merch we spotted at Discovery Trading, we also noticed that there was a pop-up outside dedicated to the Celebrate Soulfully event! Celebrate Soulfully pop-up This booth is highlighting Bowes Candle Company, a black-owned business! There was even a station set up for you to make your own candle. Bhaktapur Market By far the most expensive new item we found at Animal Kingdom today was this stuffed lion for $99! Located at the Bhaktapur Market outside of Yak and Yeti, you can take home this plush that is just as large as it is expensive. Just lion around. Riverside Depot Over at Riverside Depot, these new dish towels caught our eye! They’re part of Disney’s new housewares collection. You can get each of these dish towels on shopDisney as well! We found the Cinderella Dish Towel… Cinderella dish towel …along with the Mary Poppins Towel… Mary Poppins dish towel …and the Tinker Bell Dish Towel, too! Each is $19.99 and can be found on shopDisney. Island Mercantile Island Mercantile is jumping on the Encanto bandwagon (and can you blame them?!) with this Design Your Own Bag Activity Set! It comes with a blank tote bag and everything you need to decorate! Encanto Design Your Own Bag Activity Set The activity set is also available on shopDisney and is $24.99.
