We’re anticipating the completion of the EPCOT transformation, watching the construction progress on the Tron coaster, and hoping to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ASAP. However, one thing that we DO have an arrival date for is Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, and today we got some new details!

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (aka the new Star Wars hotel) is opening on March 1st, 2022. The new resort will offer a multi-day immersive storytelling experience with interactive elements and a “port of call” in Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. We’ve received information on the activities, the dining, and even the rooms themselves, but now we know about a new offering specifically for droids!

Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge

According to Disney, those who choose to create their own droid at Droit Depot in Galaxy’s Edge will be able to bring it back to the ship and enter it in a droid-racing competition. These droids are currently not allowed to be controlled with their remotes while in the theme parks, but you’ll be able to pilot them freely while aboard the starcruiser.

The droid-making process

So if you’re planning to stay at this new hotel, make sure to pack your little droid friend and bring it along with you! It sounds like you may be running into a few of them on board during your stay.
