Disney4me Posted September 25, 2021 Report Posted September 25, 2021 Fall magic is in the air, and now, it can stay nestled on your own front door thanks to a new DIY tutorial by Mallory Erin Makes! ©Mallory Erin Makes The content creator and crafting guru just released a step-by-step tutorial teaching Disney fans how they, too, can channel some Main Street, U.S.A. magic in their own holiday decorating efforts. In only seven steps, Mallory Erin Makes summarizes how you can turn some foam into a Disney masterpiece. ©Disney What You’ll Need Interested in making one yourself? Here’s what you’ll need: One foam half-sphere Two foam discs One jar of foam smoother Orange and yellow paint One wire wreath form One fall garland To finish the craft, you’ll also need some common household items and tools, including a crafting knife, toothpicks, twist ties, and glue. ©Disney How It’s Done Draw Mickey Mouse’s face on the half-sphere. Carefully use your crafting knife to carve partially through the foam, pulling up excess bits from the mouth and the whites of Mickey’s eyes. Use your knife to cut the discs into Mickey’s ears. Finish the carved surfaces using the foam smoother. Give Mickey time to dry, and sand if necessary. Color your pumpkin with spray or acrylic paint. Use yellow in the carved sections to make your Mickey look like he’s glowing! Affix Mickey’s ears to his head using glue and toothpicks. They should lay very close to the flat side of the dome. Set Mickey to the side and grab your wire wreath form. Wrap the garland around the wire and use twist ties or string to hold it in place. Fill in gaps with extra foliage. Finally, run a twist tie through the back of Mickey’s head. Use it to connect Mickey to the wire wreath. A little bit of pixie dust later and you’ve got your Mickey Halloween wreath!
