Disney4me Posted September 2, 2021 Report Posted September 2, 2021 Disney recently announced a new system to take the place of FastPass+ in Disney World. Genie+ ©Disney Disney Genie+ will take over as the new way to skip most of the lines for certain attractions. It’s part of the new Disney Genie program coming to My Disney Experience that will help plan your days in the parks! While Genie is free, Genie+ is not — it will be $15 per day, per ticket to use this system that will let you enter through the new Lightning Lanes (the old FastPass+ lanes). While we don’t know exactly when this month the system will go into effect, some new additions in Magic Kingdom are making us think it might be soon! We spotted new Lightning Lane signs in Magic Kingdom!! Tomorrowland Speedway The first one we found was over at Tomorrowland Speedway in Tomorrowland! New sign! It’s located right next to the stand-by entrance. The sign is up! A Cast Member was standing at the new entrance, presumably to keep people from entering through the Lightning Lane, since it isn’t open yet! Lightning Lane Sign The next Lightning Lane we saw was over at “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland! “it’s a small world” This one is not located directly next to the stand-by entrance, it’s a little further over to the left, which is where the previous FastPass+ lane was! Lightning Lane Sign Cast Members were also hanging out here to make sure no one entered the ride through the Lightning Lane. Lightning Lane We wonder when we’ll be able to use these lanes! Lightning Lane We also saw a new Lightning Lane sign over at Jungle Cruise in Adventureland! Lightning Lane Just another new addition to a ride that’s had some major renovations lately! Jungle Cruise The new sign fits the theming perfectly! Lightning Lane Sign Once Genie+ does officially launch, you will be able to choose a ride to make a reservation for starting at 7AM each day. When your reservation slot time arrives, you will then go through this Lightning Lane! There will be over 40 rides that have Lightning Lanes through Genie+ in Disney World, so we’re sure to see a lot more signs go up soon. We’ll keep you posted — stay tuned to DFB for updates!
