Disney4me Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Greetings from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! We’re here this morning because something HUGE has returned to Disney World: buffets! Animal Kingdom Lodge We’ve already seen a few recently reopened buffets pop up over at the Disneyland Resort, but now we’re checking out the first all-you-care-to-eat buffet experience to return to Disney World since last year’s closures began at Boma, which reopened today. Since Disney World reopened last year, any all-you-care-to-enjoy dining experiences have been converted to family-style service. Boma is the first restaurant to reopen with a buffet service. Jambo everybody! We’re all checked in and ready to have breakfast at Boma for reopening day! pic.twitter.com/3jHE32svGI — AJ Wolfe (@DisneyFoodBlog) August 20, 2021 Let’s see what (if anything) has changed! Boma After we checked in for our reservation, we were brought over to our table. Boma It’s so nice to be back at Boma! This is a more high-end buffet than what you might expect so we’re ready to return to the eats. Boma We spotted the serving stations as we made our way through the restaurant. Boma is the first Disney World spot to offer buffet-style dining since the parks reopened. pic.twitter.com/saZK6EMCma — AJ Wolfe (@DisneyFoodBlog) August 20, 2021 It was definitely interesting to see a traditional buffet back in action. Health measures-wise, the buffet is pretty much the same as it was pre-closure, with a few minor changes. Buffet You’ll spot lots of hand-sanitizer stations, for instance, to keep your hands clean while you serve. The buffet IS still self-service. Hand Sanitizer You’ll also spot signage reminding guests to wear a mask when up from their table, especially around the buffet. The only other health change is that the omelets are now grab-and-go instead of an omelet station. Buffet Food-wise a LOT of Boma favorites have returned like Mickey and Simba Waffles… Waffles …Turkey Bobotie… Bobotie …Sticky Buns… Sticky Buns …and a LOT more. Pastries One new item we spotted was this helping of Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs. We can’t WAIT to try those. Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs Since this is a buffet, you can grab any food item you would like (and as much of it as you can eat!)… Here’s what we grabbed for breakfast! pic.twitter.com/weDEStbDoE — AJ Wolfe (@DisneyFoodBlog) August 20, 2021 …so obviously, we got a little bit of everything! Spread! We’ll bring you a FULL REVIEW of our breakfast soon AND we’ll be back to check out Boma’s dinner buffet this evening, so be sure to stay tuned for more of the latest updates from Disney World as buffet dining returns!
