Disney4me Posted July 28, 2021 Report Posted July 28, 2021 The situation with COVID-19 continues to develop and change throughout the United States and the world. Always Gotta Look for Discounts! We’ve shared a look at the current situation with COVID-19, particularly in terms of the case numbers rising in Florida and how one Central Florida mayor noted that they are in “crisis mode.” Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an update regarding their indoor mask recommendations. And now it looks like Disney has made some recent changes when it comes to its mask prices. A big thanks to Carlye Wisel for sharing the news about this. Earlier today, Carlye posted on Twitter about a change in Disney’s online mask prices so we went to check it out. For context, Disney World’s current mask rules note that fully vaccinated guests do not need to wear masks in most areas in the parks, except on Disney transportation and transportation entrances (except the ferry boats). ©Disney There are different rules for guests who are not fully vaccinated. They are still required to wear masks in certain locations, including all indoor locations. But note that Disney is not requiring proof of vaccination. ©Disney There are similar rules in place in Disneyland. The mask rules were changed to this general format back in June. For the past several weeks we’ve noticed that Disney’s masks have been heavily discounted. In the parks, we’ve seen select face masks on sale with a buy one get one free deal being offered. Face Masks Online the masks have also been heavily discounted on shopDisney. Just about a month ago, we shared that you could get some of the Disney masks for just $3 online!! Certain 2-packs of masks were priced at $3, many 4-packs were priced at $6, and select other masks were also on sale. Those masks have been on sale for quite some time since we first shared those details, and others were put on sale more recently. But recently, things have changed. Disney Mask On shopDisney, it looks like all of the cloth face masks are full price again. ©Disney This Disney Princess 2-Pack was on sale for $3 previously. Now it’s back up to $11.99. ©shopDisney The same is true for the 2-Pack Limited-Release Mickey Mouse Americana mask set… ©shopDisney …the Rainbow Collection 2-Pack… ©shopDisney …and other masks on the site. While many of these were on sale before, it appears they’ve now all gone back to their full prices. ©Disney We’re checking to see if the sales in the parks have also ended recently. Again, as we noted above, just yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued an update regarding their indoor mask recommendations. Previously, the CDC’s recommendations noted that vaccinated individuals did not need to wear masks in most locations — outdoors or indoors. The CDC is now recommending that vaccinated individuals wear masks again indoors in public areas in places with “high” or “substantial” COVID-19 transmission levels. It has also recommended that those living with vulnerable household members including young kids or those who are immunocompromised, also wear masks indoors in public areas. Face Mask Sign As we shared yesterday, Orange and Osceola Counties, the two counties within which Disney World is located, are in the “high” COVID-19 transmission level category. Orange County, California, where Disneyland is located, is also in the “high” category for transmission according to the CDC site. ©CDC At the moment, neither Disney World nor Disneyland have announced any changes to their mask rules. But we’re on the lookout for more details and we will let you know what we find. Click here to see more about the CDC’s updated mask recommendations.
