This year’s Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays has officially begun! Today, we’re tasting all of the delicious eats and sips from around the world, of course with a fun, festive twist.

Festival Favorites

Festival Favorites is located in World ShowPlace in between the United Kingdom and Canada Pavilions, and features menu items from previous Festival of the Holidays! It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen some of these dishes appear in an EPCOT festival, so we were anxious to see how they would measure up!

Let’s take a look at the menu!

Foods

First up, this booth serves Blackened Bass from the Seasonal Southern Delights booth from all the way back in 2016 (back when it was called Holidays Around the World)!

Blackened Bass, White Cheddar Grits, and Okra with Tomato and Onion Stew

This dish comes with White Cheddar Grits and Okra with Tomato and Onion Stew. This was a favorite of ours back in the day, although last time this dish came around, it was Blackened Catfish instead of Bass.

The char on the fish was fantastic! The grits had an awesome consistency and flavor and the whole dish had a nice kick. If you’re a seafood fan, you’ll probably enjoy this!

If you want to take a stroll down memory lane, this dish costs $7.

Another returning dish from 2016 at Festival Favorites is Duck Confit and Dumplings from the Alpine Haus booth!

Duck Confit and Dumplings with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Fig Reduction

This dish comes served with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Fig Reduction. This dish wasn’t the BEST we’ve had. The duck was on the dry side and the dumpling was pretty mushy. We do have to say, though, the Brussel sprouts were DELISH.

If you’re participating in this year’s Cookie Stroll, be sure to stop by Festival Favorites and grab a Gingerbread Cookie for $2.50!

Beverages

Festival Favorites has two featured drinks, each with alcoholic and non-alcoholic variations. The First is Coquito: Tropical Eggnog, without alcohol for $4.25. This drink last made an appearance at the Feast of Three Kings booth from 2018’s Festival of the Holidays. Its alcoholic counterpart comes with Bacardi Gold Dark Rum for $10. This drink is good but not super flavorful. It just tastes creamy!

The second beverage is Frozen S’mores. This is a much more recent “Festival Favorite,” since this drink JUST appeared at 2020’s Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival at Desserts and Champagne. For those 21 and older, you can also order this with Whipped Cream Vodka. This sip is good like always —very nice and thick!

The non-alcoholic version costs $4.50, and the alcoholic version costs $11. The festival will be around through December 30th, so be sure to stop by Festival Favorites and have a bite, a sip, or both!
