Disney4me Posted October 27, 2020 Report Posted October 27, 2020 Disney World has been slowly but surely announcing hotel reopening dates. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Though most of the Disney World villas and hotels have reopened, there are some we’re still waiting on. In fact, there are some that are still closed until further notice! It’s time for a status update! Open Resort Hotels When the Disney hotels first opened in June, most Disney Vacation Club locations were the first to return to business. Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was one of these and we even stayed in a room to see how things had changed! Disney’s Contemporary Resort is open overall too! Bay Lake Tower Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge have reopened as well. Boulder Ridge at Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village DID reopen back in June. Neighboring Jambo House is closed to guests aside from those booking select rooms with DVC points. Very few options are open at Jambo House currently though, making guests who choose to stay here have to venture to Kidani Village for limited food and shopping. (The Uzima pool bar IS periodically open, though!) Savannah Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas have both reopened even though both of the hotels remain closed overall for now. Disney’s Yacht Club is the BoardWalk hotel that is completely open! Disney’s BoardWalk We took a spin around Disney’s Caribbean Beach when it opened in late July! Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the most recent resort to reopen after the NBA wrapped up their season! Entering Coronado Springs Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is open so campers, rejoice! Deer at Fort Wilderness The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened back in June and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has reopened overall since then, too. Grand Floridian Walkway Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is set to remain closed for a while BUT Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has been open since June. Bora Bora Bungalows More DVC options that have been available include Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Riviera Resort And the only budget resort that is available is Disney’s Pop Century Resort, but that’s set to change soon (more on that below!). Hippy Dippy Area Closed Resort Hotels Upcoming Opening Dates The next resort to reopen will add another budget option with Disney’s Art of Animation Resort on November 1st! Art of Animation Lobby Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is the most recent resort to receive a reopening date. We’ll return to this cinematic favorite on February 9th. All Star Movies Resort The furthest out date that we know for other resorts reopening is for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This resort is undergoing a major Moana-themed renovation and will reopen in Summer of 2021! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort No Announced Opening Date According to the Disney website, “Given the current situation, there are some Disney Resort hotels and other areas that are not, as of this time, being scheduled for reopening yet. We will continue to evaluate the situation and reopen more locations when the environment is right to do so.” Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The following hotels STILL don’t have an announced reopening date: Disney’s All-Star Music Resort Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates on all the Walt Disney World Resort hotels!
