Tourist injured on Universal Orlando water slide can seek punitive damages, judge decides

James Bowen was paralyzed on Punga Racers in July 2019 and sued in October 2019. His lawsuit unearthed internal records from Universal that showed the slide had a history of injuries and Universal engineers acknowledged in depositions they were aware some people went too fast on the slide and didn’t have enough time to slow down safely because of the length of the run-out.
