Prior to leaving his role at Disney, Kevin Mayer served as the head of the Direct-to-Consumer and International Division, and oversaw projects like the launch of Disney+ and ESPN+. ©Disney Earlier this year, Mayer left Disney to become the CEO of TikTok, a short-form video platform. But now, according to TechCrunch, just 100 days after joining the TikTok team, Mayer has resigned. ©The New York Times | Damian Dovarganes/Associated Press According to a post from CNBC Now on Twitter, a source told a CNBC reporter that “Mayer quit after being excluded from deal talks between the company and Microsoft & Oracle.” It appears that TikTok may be getting ready to sell all or part of the company. Multiple sources have reportedly told CNBC that “Mayer’s exit indicates that a deal—likely a sale to Microsoft—could come in the next 48 hours.” Photo by Jesse Grant/Getty Images for Disney This is still a developing story, so we’ll let you know if we hear any updates.
