Disney4me Posted August 15 Report Posted August 15 We’re live at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and we are getting all kinds of juicy details about upcoming Disney movies and TV shows…and we have SO MUCH TO SHARE WITH YOU. Well, we’ve got big news for those of you who are fans of the live-action Lilo & Stitch. ©Disney So, as you may know, Disney has greenlit a sequel to the live-action Lilo & Stitch, and it’s officially in development. Well, guess what? Disney just dropped NEW details about that sequel, and we’re going to tell you everything we’ve learned about it. Right now, the expected release date for Lilo & Stitch 2 is May 26th, 2028, which isn’t really THAT far away if you really think about it. The movie will bring back Maia Kealoha as Lilo, as well as Chris Sanderson as the voice of Stitch. Sanderson will also direct the sequel. ©Disney Maia Kealoha came on stage to share her excitement about the live-action sequel, and it was adorable. We didn’t get a ton of new details for the movie, but Disney did confirm that Angel will be a big focus. In fact, they teased the cute pink alien on screen at the Disney Entertainment Panel. So it’s no surprise that a sequel is coming because those are some big $$$. When the sequel was announced, Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, said, “The love that people have for Lilo & Stitch continues to grow, and the goal with this new retelling was for audiences to be able to enjoy these characters on the big screen again and hopefully have just as much fun watching it as we had making it.” ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for even MORE Disney news and will keep you updated on everything announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
