Disney4me Posted yesterday at 06:39 PM Report Posted yesterday at 06:39 PM If you’re not on the internet in the theme parks space, you might not know that the Universal Kids Resort is about to open in Frisco, Texas. Universal Kids Resort We recently went inside the new Universal resort, and the internet had some major reactions to it. If you’re planning on going to the new resort anytime soon, you should know about these 5 rules! During our time in this new park, we had lots of thoughts and feelings! It’s great for kiddos, but it’s not without its criticisms. If you’re heading into the park, there are lots of things to consider, like the ages of the kids with you, your interests, and the rules around the park. There’s no app for this resort One thing that we love about other Universal theme parks is the app! Universal Orlando has a great app where you can check wait times, get menu information, find maps, and more. Unfortunately for Universal Kids Resort guests, there’s no app for you at the time of writing! Universal Kids Resort On the website, Universal writes, “Universal Kids Resort will not have a mobile app at this time. We recommend signing up for emails for the latest updates regarding our resort.” While this resort isn’t as big as the theme parks, we do sorely miss having all of the information easily in one place. You can still find menus and maps online, but you will need to manually check those waittimes. Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby There are no single strollers for rent Another rule that caught us off guard is that there are no single strollers for rent at this resort. This was super surprising for a kids’ geared resort. They do have double strollers for rent if you don’t want to bring your personal one, especially if you’re flying in. Hair in the Clouds On the website, Universal shared, “No, Single Strollers will not be available to rent at Universal Kids Resort.” This doesn’t sound like language that will change in the future which is really surprising. If you only have one child, you can rent the double stroller, of course, but that isn’t always ideal for parents. You could use the extra space to hold your bags and other merchandise from the resort, but no matter how many silver linings we find, we’re still surprised by this rule. Universal Kids Resort Mug No single rider lines at Universal Kids Resort Another rule that might catch you off guard is that there are no single-rider lines! This isn’t a huge surprise, considering that anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult or companion at all times. This park isn’t necessarily one that adults will check out by themselves (and if you do, more power to you). Swings Over Del Mar On the website, Universal shares, “No, Universal Kids Resort rides and attractions will not include single rider lines.” This is another rule we don’t anticipate changing. This park also does not currently offer express ride access privileges, so there is no paying to skip the line here. Mama Luna’s Adopt-a-Kitty Day There are height requirements that might be surprising This resort is like any other with attractions, because there are height requirements. These height requirements involve maximum and minimum heights, so don’t be caught unaware before you hop in line. All of the attractions have health and safety warning signs posted at their entrance, in addition to the height requirements, so reading that sign is super important. Shrek’s Swamp Below is the full list of requirements. Rhonda’s TrollsFest Express Must be at least 36″ (92cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Hair in the Clouds Must be at least 36″ (92cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After Must be at least 30″ (76cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Swings Over Del Mar Must be at least 42″ (107cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster Must be at least 39″ (99cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin Supervising Companion required for children under 53″ (135cm) in height. No handheld infants. Jurassic World Adventure Camp Pteranodrop Must be at least 36″ (92cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Jellyfish Fields Jamboree Supervising Companion required for children under 48″ (122cm) in height. No handheld infants. Barnacle Bus Must be at least 30″ (76cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Bobbing Barrels Must be at least 36″ (92cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Mrs. Puff’s Boating School Must be at least 36″ (92cm) and at most 77″ (195cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Bello Bay Cruise Must be at least 40″ (102cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby Must be at least 36″ (92cm). Children under 48″ (122 cm) must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Bobbing Barrels No loose objects on the attractions! Finally, one rule Universal was super serious about during our time in the park was no loose objects on the rides. On each attraction sign, it reads “Secure all loose articles (phones, hats, glasses, video recording equipment, cameras, wallets, keys, etc.) or leave with a non-rider.” Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby During our time in the park, they were serious about these rules and reminded us on each attraction to put any video recording items, as well as our phones, away for the duration of the ride. While this isn’t unusual for theme park rules, it is something to note! At other Universal resorts, filming is prohibited on rides, so this isn’t a huge surprise.
