Disney4me Posted June 7 Report Posted June 7 Have you been keeping up with the Disney theme park changes? Because there have been a lot of them lately! Recently, it’s felt like the parks are entirely new places thanks to updates like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Monsters Inc. Land, and more. ©Disney Each week, it feels like Disney drops new info, details, hints, and more about the theme parks, cruise line, and the company. Because of this, we do a weekly wrap-up of the biggest news so you don’t miss a single thing. Let’s dive into this week’s latest and greatest Disney news. Some weeks, Disney drops news and information that’s exciting but not groundbreaking. This week? They gave us some HUGE pieces of news that will impact the parks for years to come. If you’re a Hollywood Studios fan, this was a big week for you. HUGE NEWS Revealed for Monstropolis Disney finally revealed the storyline behind the upcoming Monsters Inc. Land this week! They dropped the news, writing, “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney The story starts after Mike and Sulley discover that laughter is more powerful than screams, so they’re bringing on a city-wide shift by introducing H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day! The monsters have formed the Department of Human Relations to help build a relationship between the humans and monsters, so now we get to go inside their world. ©Disney Disney shared, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” While they didn’t share an opening timeline just yet, we feel like this was a huge step toward the land being open. Get all of the new details HERE! New Restaurant Announced for Hollywood Studios In the same announcement, Disney answered a question we have been BEGGING for. We have long speculated that Harryhausen’s (the famous restaurant from the film) would be part of Monstropolis. Disney has FINALLY confirmed we were right! Can you hear us screaming from here? ©Disney In the statement, Disney shared, “Storefronts line the streets, industries hum alongside everyday life, and every corner reflects the quirky, character-filled world fans fell in love with. And of course, it wouldn’t be Monstropolis without a few iconic stops along the way. Places like Harryhausen’s — yes, THAT legendary restaurant monsters line up for — and the Glob Theater help bring the city to life, adding even more personality, energy, and can’t-miss moments around every corner.” WE NOTICED THAT, DISNEY! ©Disney While they didn’t give us more information than that, we are seriously thrilled that our educated guess (or delusion) is correct. There are so many dreams we have for this restaurant, but our number one request might be an animatronic of the octopus chef Harry himself. Everything we know about the restaurant here! A Few HUGE Halloween Announcements For Disneyland Finally, Disneyland brought it home for big news this week thanks to some spooky announcements! It might only be June, but Halloween is right around the corner if you’re a Disney fan.
