Disney4me Posted 19 hours ago Report Posted 19 hours ago Who’s ready to go to SPACE with us?! Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is receiving some changes in honor of the new Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The updates hit the ride on May 22nd, and we got the chance to preview the attraction early. Let’s check it out! We knew going in that the ride changes would feature a new storyline with Mando and Grogu, upgraded visuals, and even the ability select your destination. This is HUGE, considering we’ve been doing the same missions on the ride since it opened in 2019. ©Disney But now, we’re here during a media event to check out the changes for ourselves. Here’s what you need to know! First, this is a MASSIVE improvement on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. If you ask us, it takes it from a second-tier attraction to a first-tier, just from the new locations and the addition of the Mandalorian and Grogu. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run There are three different storyline options the engineer can now choose from, which makes that position SO much more fun. Before the changes, the engineer didn’t really have much to do on this ride. But now we think people will be competing for this spot. There’s essentially a Grogu cam next to you, and there is a lot of fun interaction. Grogu cam right next to the engineer The new missions involve being on a bounty hunt for three bounties — two imperial soldiers and a pirate — and they’re all on Tatooine together. Once you get to Tatooine, they split up and start flying in different directions. The engineer shoots homing signals on them, and you’re able to tell where they’re headed. New Smugglers Run missions The imperial soldiers are headed to Coruscant and Bespin, and the pirate heads to the wreckage of the Death Star. The engineer gets to choose which bounty to follow, and that’s what determines which mission you go on. New missions Once your mission is completed, you’ll head back to Tatooine, where Mando and Grogu have exited their ship, and thank you for your help with the bounties. Death Star wreckage You get to check in on communications with Grogu throughout the ride as the engineer. There are a TON of adorable moments between Mando and Grogu as well. At one point, Grogu gets scared and gets out of his seat to go over to Mando, and he just sits with Mando, holding his hand. It’s seriously the cutest. I love them Our only complaint with the new engineer role is that with the Mando and Grogu screen right next to you, it kind of gets hard to focus on the main screen of the ride since you’re focused on Grogu. View this post on Instagram Luckily, every seat does get a view of Grogu, but it’s the engineer who gets to interact with him the most. HE’S SO CUTE There’s also a VERY cute moment at the end when the Mandalorian says, “Okay, goodbye,” and Hondo responds with a goodbye — to which Mando says, “Not you, Hondo, the Kid.” Grogu then makes iconic Baby Yoda noises, and it’s just a really sweet moment. New missions In just a few days, these changes will premiere to the public. And make sure to check out The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters on May 22nd, as well. This definitely got us hyped up for the movie! 2 Critical Ride Changes Hit Hollywood Studios in May Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe!
