Disney4me Posted May 2 Report Posted May 2 2027 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years in Disney parks history, and the full scope of what’s coming is almost hard to believe. Guests will soon be able to experience an all-new Spider-Man themed coaster coming to Shanghai Disneyland. We’re talking about brand-new lands, reimagined classics, and entirely fresh rides opening at Disney parks across the globe, from Orlando to Paris to Tokyo. This isn’t the usual trickle of refurbishments and soft updates. This is a genuine, park-by-park wave of new attractions, and if you’re the type of person who plans Disney trips around openings, now is the time to start paying very close attention. Before we dive in, here’s a big disclaimer: everything on this list is currently expected to open in 2027, but Disney timelines can and do shift. Some of these have confirmed windows. Others are based on strong indications from Disney and credible reporting. Plans change, construction timelines stretch, and what’s targeted for 2027 today could slip into 2028 tomorrow. With that said, let’s look at what’s on the board right now. Walt Disney World Encanto Attraction (Animal Kingdom) The Madrigal family is finally getting a ride, and it’s coming to the all-new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. Pueblo Esperanza construction This ride puts guests inside the Casita after Antonio receives his gift, transforming his room into a rainforest. It’ll be a dark ride format, which means the whole family can experience it together. Tropical Americas Honestly, the potential for gorgeous visuals here is through the roof, and the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” crowd is going to love it. Indiana Jones Adventure (Animal Kingdom) Indy is also headed to Tropical Americas, replacing the beloved but retired DINOSAUR attraction. Tropical Americas In this new storyline, Indiana Jones travels to a Mayan temple after hearing rumors of a mythical creature, and guests come along for the journey. A new Indiana Jones ride at Disney World has been a wish-list item for years, so this one’s a big deal. Tropical Americas Wood-Carved Carousel (Animal Kingdom) Rounding out the land is a Disney animal-themed carousel sitting inside the central village of Pueblo Esperanza, which will also feature one of Disney World’s biggest quick-service restaurants. Coaster (Hollywood Studios) Disney’s Hollywood Studios is preparing a brand-new Monstropolis-themed land, and its centerpiece is what would be Disney Parks’ first-ever suspended coaster. ©bioreconstruct The ride reportedly features a vertical lift before sending guests through the door vault and into the monster factory. A specific 2027 opening hasn’t been officially locked in, so keep watching this one, but all signs point to a 2027 arrival being the target. Take a closer look at the new Monsters, Inc. Land here! Disney California Adventure There’s no firm confirmation on timing here, but the DCA Avengers Campus expansion may open in 2027. Avengers Campus construction A new Avatar-inspired destination is also making its way to Disney California Adventure, and the broader Marvel expansion at Avengers Campus continues to develop. Both projects are ones we’re watching closely, though neither has an officially confirmed 2027 date locked in. Disneyland Paris (Disney Adventure World) The Lion King Ride This is one of the most ambitious Disney attractions in development right now. Guests will descend into the caves beneath a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and embark on a water flume adventure told through iconic Lion King songs, state-of-the-art special effects, and advanced Audio-Animatronics. The Lion King land coming to Disneyland Paris The ride features three distinct slopes, culminating in a 50-foot descent, making it one of the bigger thrill rides at the park. There’s no confirmed 2027 date yet, but the project is well underway and widely expected to debut that year. Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings This Up-themed flying carousel ride, officially named Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, was confirmed by Disneyland Paris for a 2027 opening. ©Disney Guests earn their “Aviation” badge alongside Russell and the Wilderness Explorers while riding in a tilting dome carousel that offers sweeping views of the surrounding park. It’s the first-ever Up-themed ride in any Disney park, and the theming sounds genuinely delightful. Tokyo Disney Resort Space Mountain (Reimagined) Tokyo Disneyland is completely rebuilding Space Mountain, and this is far more than a simple update. ©Disney The attraction will feature a new ride system, updated effects, and a refreshed story, along with a redesigned surrounding area. Tokyo Disney is known for its attention to detail, so expectations here are extremely high. The current target sits around 2027. Wreck-It Ralph Ride The Wreck-It Ralph attraction at Tokyo Disneyland is an interactive shooting ride that replaces Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, with a spring 2027 opening expected. ©Disney Guests join Ralph and Vanellope to take on King Candy’s Sugar Bugs inside the candy-themed world of Sugar Rush. Hong Kong Disneyland Hong Kong Disneyland is expanding its Stark Expo area in Tomorrowland with a brand-new Spider-Man attraction, and based on concept art, it’s going to be a big one. Peter Parker has landed an internship at Stark Industries, and when Doctor Octopus shows up to steal the tech, it’s up to Spider-Man to save the day. ©Disney The ride vehicle appears similar to a drop tower style experience, and concept art also teases appearances from Thor, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. The expansion will also bring new dining, shopping, and entertainment to the area. There’s no locked-in opening date yet, but late 2026 or early 2027 is the current working expectation. Shanghai Disneyland Shanghai Disneyland is getting its first-ever Marvel attraction, and it’s going to be a high-energy Spider-Man coaster. Guests will soon be able to experience an all-new Spider-Man themed coaster coming to Shanghai Disneyland. Disney broke ground on the project in 2025, and the new Spider-Man land will sit right next to Zootopia Land, which opened in late 2023 and has already earned a reputation as one of the most technically impressive things Disney has ever built. The coaster promises a fully immersive, high-speed experience, and a 2027 opening is currently the working target. The Bottom Line 2027 is going to require some serious trip-planning strategy. Whether you’re a Walt Disney World regular, an international park enthusiast, or you’ve always wanted a reason to finally get to Tokyo Disneyland, there’s something on this list that belongs on your travel radar. Just remember that Disney’s timeline is always subject to change, so the best approach is to stay informed and stay flexible.
