Disney is known for some amazing desserts like Dole Whip, Mickey ice cream bars, and more. While we LOVE those staples, we also love hunting for some harder-to-find bites that not everyone will know about. The Carrot Cake One of the best places to go for a delicious snack is the Boardwalk’s Cake Bake Shop Bakery! This has been a favorite of ours since it opened, but how do its two new desserts hold up? We’re about to find out together! Over at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, you’ll find the Cake Bake Shop Bakery, where you can stroll in to grab pastries, coffee, beverages, and those (semi-famous) slices of cake. During our stop by the bakery, we grabbed two brand-new items to test out. The Cake Bake Shop Bakery First, we grabbed the Carrot Cake for $22. This cake is a spiced carrot cake that can be made without nuts or raisins. It’s filled and frosted with their signature cream cheese frosting and topped with decorative silk flowers! This cake was certainly pretty. The cake inside the restaurant! This one was a nice surprise! Unlike traditional carrot cake, the chunks of carrots were cut up finely, so it didn’t have too much of a textural element. The spices were the star of the show and it made the cake sweet and aromatic. This is a thick slice! The cream cheese was the perfect texture in our eyes. It wasn’t too thick, but it also wasn’t runny, so it helped the cake hold its shape while we were enjoying it. Someone even stopped us when we were taking photos of this cake and asked if it was the Carrot Cake. When we replied yes, they shared that they had it inside the Cake Bake Restaurant and declared it “the best cake ever,” so it seems to be a hit at the restaurant as well. The topper! While the flower on top isn’t edible, we did think it was a very pretty touch! The cake was moist, sweet, and not too dry at any point. While Easter might be over, this is a great bite to grab to celebrate the holiday. This was a hefty cake! Next, we tried out the Mixed Berry Cheesecake Cup for $15! This cup is made up with a graham cracker European all-butter crust, the shop’s homemade cheesecake, and fresh glazed blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. The cheesecake! The cheesecake was light and fluffy once we got through that big layer of berries! It almost felt like a whipped cheesecake texture because of how light it was as we were trying it out. The berries sadly didn’t impress us too much. They were fresh but not overly flavorful or juicy. The cheesecake cup! Once we mixed the berries into the cheesecake, we enjoyed it more! This can get a bit messy when you mix it, so something to be wary of. It was sweet and even had some gold flakes on top for extra shine. Have a bite! We are still big fans of the Cake Bake Shop, so if you’re looking for a larger-than-life slice of cake or a quick drop-in dessert, this is a great spot to check out.
